The number of new cancer cases and deaths are falling for both men and women for the first time since the government began compiling a report on long-term trends. Overall cancer death rates decreased an average of 1.8% a year from 2002 to 2005, a trend attributed to growing number of Americans who don't smoke.

"Cancer Rate Drops as Smoking Declines "

Also in related news scientific studies have shown that instances of old folks with Alzheimer's sitting around in nursing homes watching Wheel of Fortune have risen 1.8%.

It has been two years and I'm still dying for a smoke.

So smoking causes all cancers and not just lung cancer?

"So smoking causes all cancers and not just lung cancer?"

They have found a direct correlation between colon cancer and blowing smoke out of one's ass.

Smoking is far and away the number one known man made means of getting cancer. The fact that a reduction in smoking in the US has reduced overall cancer rates should come as no surprise. The only people who are skeptical are those with some other agenda.

In other news, there has been a direct link discovered between Jaegermeister and nerds getting laid.

Me likey weed. Me smokey mucho. Whee!!!

Several cancers (but not all). Smoking increases risk of cancer of the mouth, tongue, esophagus, stomach and some others. There are links between breast cancer and smoking.

So I guess not smoking would be a good thing.

Smoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette
Puff, puff, puff and if you smoke yourself to death
Tell St. Peter at the Golden Gate
That you hates to make him wait
But you just gotta have another cigarette

Great, now they'll be a higher cost to society as we have to foot the medicare bill for all the folks who would've died but now will live to 85.

I want to get into some of the money they doled out for this study. Maybe if they give me $2,000,000 or so I can prove up is up and down is down. Or that repeatedly shooting a cow is detrimental to it's health, something along those lines. This is coming from a smoker too by the way...

glad I never started; always looked and smelled bad to me
