So now this buffoon admits that tax cuts helps the economy. Does he have a real stance on anything???

Change we can live with in all 56 states!

i'm sorry, when did douchemark become a state?

This is a lack of Change that nobody is gonna believe.

The powers that be have gotten to Barack Obama and now he's just another DC pod person.

Oh well, Spud always only gave him a fifty fifty shot at meaning wot he sed.

Now it's certain he's one hundred percent FAIL.

Still better than McCain but not by much.

Sad, Sad. Sad.

Be Well.

I'll ask the same question I did yesterday (and could potentially ask for months)...
For a man who ran on real change - not simply repeating the same old Rep/Dem battles, but REAL change... for those who believed him, what does your scorecard look like today?

LOL

I can understand not wanting to speak of the guy who is still batting but Obama's team isn't even fully Drafted as of yet.

The link doesn't work.

But the articles I read say he may consider letting them expire in 2010 instead of repealing them early.

That's "may" and "consider", and is a far cry from what the headline implies.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) President-elect Barack Obama may consider delaying a campaign promise - to roll back tax cuts on high-income Americans - as part of his economic recovery strategy, two aides said on Sunday.

David Axelrod, the Obama campaign strategist who was chosen to be a senior White House adviser, was asked if the tax cuts could be allowed to expire on schedule after tax year 2010 rather than being rolled back by legislation earlier. "Those considerations will be made," he said on "Fox News Sunday."

I initially bought somewhat into the Obama change as the primary began but the more the primary and general election campaigns rolled on, the more typical politician I saw in Obama.

Read an article on MSNBC that said Chicago and old Clinton staffers are filling Obama's team. That's definitely not change.

I'll say this again. "Change" is not embodied in who is chosen for what jobs. "Change" will be defined by what Obama does, and what his people do under his direction.

And it is interesting that everyone seems to be so horrified at the possibility of a President who might actually adapt his strategy, depending on changing circumstances.

Especially after 8 years of George Bush who's entire strategery was built on "whatever I believed on Monday I will still believe on Wednesday, no matter WHAT happens on Tuesday".

-The powers that be have gotten to Barack Obama and now he's just another DC pod person.

Confucius say, "Tater who believe everything he hear in primary, or who fault a change in strategery brought on by change in circumstance, is sorrowful spud indeed'.

Wow. One potential setback, an arguably pragmatic one at that, and people lose faith.

Methinks that faith so easily lost was not true in the beginning.

Gird thy loins, Tater. It ain't always easy.

Change" is not embodied in who is chosen for what jobs. "Change" will be defined by what Obama does, and what his people do under his direction.

----

Change is changing who is chosen for what jobs. Do you honestly think the chosen political insiders will suddenly drop any ulterior motives just because they're in an Obama administration?

"Change is changing who is chosen for what jobs."

I disagree. Change is what gets done under Obama's leadership.

A year from now, after he's in office and his administration has had a chance to do something, then we can talk about whether or not he lived (or is living) up to his promises.

Doh...double-post

Confucius say, "Tater who believe everything he hear in primary, or who fault a change in strategery brought on by change in circumstance, is sorrowful spud indeed'.

And Buddha say, "He who lie in primary, be a liar." And Rightisright say, "Tax increases are bad for the economy, and Obama is either retarded and doesn't know it, or he's lying to get your votes."

Nice to see some of the blinders coming off. Maybe when we're still in Iraq in 2012, SanAntonio will finally throw in the towel too.

On Monday Obama was saying it was unfair that wealthy people weren't paying their fair share of taxes. That large corporations and American wealthy were getting a free ride from the Bush tax policies, at the expense of working-class families. That we are running large deficits because rich people need to be paying more.

Now, what could have happened Tuesday, that made him change his mind? I ask you.

SanAntonio will finally throw in the towel too.

I just thought I'd be unique and wait until he actually gets into office before losing control of my bladder like the rest of you.

No bladder control problems here. But that's not what you were saying before--you suggested that you're okay with Obama's flipfloppery, as long as it's because he's now privy to new information. I'm just curious as to what that new information might be. Godalmighty--the election was only two weeks ago. He's already chucking his tax policy? LOL. Too funny.

"But that's not what you were saying before-"

Oh, but it is exactly what I was saying before, and have said several times. Change will be defined by what Obama and his team DO and ACCOMPLISH, not who they ARE.

Confucius (551-479 BCE) died before walking on water was all the rage.

I believe it is wrong to jump on one or two potential course corrections the Chosen One may or may not pursue. Also wrong to presume the team he is putting together will act according to their historical record in previous administrations.

No,it's much better to give the true believers and change chanters sufficient time to become totally disillusioned with politics as usual...once again. Bring it slowly to a boil and then let simmer the remainder of the four years.

Chump Change...y'all bought it!

I have been saying it for almost a year now: no matter how much someone runs on a mantra of "Change", there isn't that much that the Executive under our system can do, outside of Foreign Policy and Judicial Appointments, to shake things up in short order.

Congress, on the other hand, can and has fucked things up quickly and effectively.

Rogue has always been one of the more thoughtful posters from the DR Left (all oxymoron jokes aside) and think that he hits the nail on the head...pants pissers like Vizzini would be well advised to wait and see what "direction" Obama is able to give to Congress before panicking and running in circles.
