A top Republican said on Friday that President-elect Barack Obama is "off to a good start" and indicated he was pleased to see President George W. Bush leaving. "Our members, in one way, are kind of relieved by the departure of an administration that became unpopular and made it very difficult for us to compete," Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell told reporters on Capitol Hill.

That schmuck should be doing stand-up.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is a two-faced piece of crap.
McConnell ought to be thrown out right along with Bush.

McConnell -- along with his wife who is Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao -- pushed every possble law and loophole to destroy American jobs, shoved Bush's free trade policies down our throats, happily backed every Bush disasterous policy, and they BOTH followed Bush around with their noses up his butt the entire eight years of the Bush Administration.

All the rats (including McConnell and his wife Elaine) are now scurrying to jump off the USS Bush as it sinks to the bottom into the mud. Too late, McConnells, America will remember you for what you did to help destroy this country. Too late now to change your stripes and there's no place for you to hide.

"McConnell -- along with his wife who is Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao -"

I learned something new today. I did not know that.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell is a two-faced piece of crap.

CC

He looks like a muppet.

Friends of ours adopted a 9 year old boy this year out of an orphanage in the Ukraine. They were stuck there for 12 weeks waiting for Alex's visa. Mitch McConnell was Kristie's mother's Senator. Nothing was being done after weeks. She finally called a Democrat House Rep, and a day later they had their visas and came home.

She's a rather well to do person who wouldn't give McConnell the time of day let alone her vote or campaign contributions now.

Let's see how things work out if they're able to get us back to 'the starting line'.

Bush as set us back years, if not decades.

It's going to take a long time to dig out of the mess the GOP Congress and Idiot in Chief dug for us.

Not unlike Clinton fatigue

Clinton fatigue, perhaps by some but comparing Clinton to the Bush Disaster is completely laughable.

"Noy unlike Clinton fatigue...."

In the same sense a mosquito bite resembles a gunshot.

Our members, in one way, are kind of relieved by the departure of an administration that became unpopular and made it very difficult for us to compete

Such a POS.

The bad things aplenty that Dumbya has had done in his name aren't wot bugs Mitchee.

It's the fact that he's become "Unpopular" and that's made GOPhers political persona non grata this electoral season that gets MM's goat.

Kentucky Fried Moran.

Fuck that biatch.

Be Well.

Give my respects to your friends. A couple from my church adopted a boy from Honduras. His mother already had eight children and asked the local priest to find a home for No. 9.

When I travel in Southeast Asia -- especially Thailand and the Philippines -- I see so many children that need a home.

Your friends went a great deal longer adopting a 9-year-old.

"I agree with McConnell"

Of course you do ---- your of the same "personal resposability" vien that is always pointing the finger of blame away from yourself!

"When I travel in Southeast Asia -- especially Thailand and the Philippines -- I see so many children that need a home."

Must... resist... urge... to... make... obvious... sex... vacation... joke.

an administration that became unpopular and made it very difficult for us to compete," Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell told reporters on Capitol Hill.

The asshole better take a good look at how many of the republicans acted when they had the majority in both houses. Out of control spending, lots of pork, and more than enough people in the take to go around. Of the items listed above all that can be said of Bush is he didn't veto the big spending bills.

Bu the way, I am not a Bush 1 or 2 fan. They both were way to easy with my money.

Secy Chao was probably the most unsympathetic Labor Secy the working person ever had. She was a front for corporate interests and refused to enforce existing laws to whatever extent she could, including refusing to prosecute companies that literally stole from their employees.

Another Bush Fellow Traveller.

Alexi, their adoptee, is doing great. We threw a party for them a few weeks ago when they finally got back after several long months.

As someone who was adopted myself in grade school (with my sister) I really related to him and have, hopefully, given them some useful insight. The main piece of advice to just concentrate on giving him time to trust them. It is a joy to witness someone getting a new life they would never have had.

Good luck to them all, AU. We've talked about adoption before. Here's hoping it's a gift to all involved.

DOC

9 year old Alexi is seeing things and doing things he never dreamed of. Heartwarming to see that little guy's face light up at the smallest thing most kids would take for granted.

an administration that became unpopular and made it very difficult for us to compete,"

But not the incompetence and corruption of you syncophant GOPpers, right Bitch? Hopefully the GOP will continue to run as if they were relevant and it was all Dubya's Fault (TM).

He looks like a muppet.

ROFL...

Not one the other leaders at the G20 summit in DC would shake Bush's hand at the closing ceremony. This is unprecedented in the modern history of international diplomacy. What a personal and national embarrassment.

NUTCASE

That was embarrassing for the U.S.

Um, no. It's embarrassing for the retard that happens to occupy the office of president...for now. Bush is a cancer on the world. Cut him out.

Good luck to them all, AU. We've talked about adoption before. Here's hoping it's a gift to all involved.

As usual, doc can't follow a train of thought. Can anybody tell me what this has to do with Bush leaving office?

To all Bush haters: Fasten your seat belts for the next four years. The ride is going to be bumpy. Of course, you will blame Bush for whatever happens for the next 20 years, as Nixon was blamed for 20 years after he left office. Even today, years after his passing, Maggoes Nixon blamers are still around.
Some history: We have a long standing, 200 year old U.S. Constitution. To my knowledge, the current Constitutional President's name is George W. Bush. People want to call him a lame duck (and other things). More history: After his election, John F. Kennedy, became President Elect. He did not set up a President Elect Seal, nor an Office of The President Elect. He did name his new administration members, but I do not recall such new namees attempting to govern until the new President Elect was SWORN IN. Were there any crisis then? You bet. It was President Dwight D. Eisenhower, a so called lame duck president, who told Fidel Castro to go to hell, and broke off diplomatic relations with the Cuban government. Lame duck Ike had enough from Fidel. The liberals of Ike's time had a field day with him. But, they had to take that constitutional presidential decision and put it into their pipes, and smoke it. Some people should take head, and do not push a so called lame duck president too much. The ride is going to be bumpy enough in January. National and international world affairs could make it bumpier even before then. More history: Pres. James Monroe passed away many years ago, 1831. It was a democratic president who stated to Russian Prime Minister, Kikita Krushev, that while Pres. James Monroe was dead, the Monroe Doctrine was still very much alive. And that President, was John F. Kennedy, after he no longer was President Elect.
