Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Roger Stone is one of the last guys on Earth one would expect to feel guilty over an episode of rough and tumble politicking. As a self-admitted hit man for the GOP, Stone has had a hand in everything from Nixon's dirty tricks to Eliot Spitzer's resignation to spreading discredited rumors of a Michelle Obama "whitey" tape during the 2008 Democratic primaries. You might call Stone the Forrest Gump of scandal, popping up to play a bit part in the most notorious negative campaigns in recent history

..........too late...........

......he's going to hell.............

Roger Stone is having an "Atwater moment"?

Jeez, does he have teh brain cancer too?

DNRTA yet.

Will do so now.

Be Well.

FTA: There have been many times I've regretted it," Stone told me over pizza at Grand Central Station. "When I look at those double-page New York Times spreads of all the individual pictures of people who have been killed [in Iraq], I got to think, 'Maybe there wouldn't have been a war if I hadn't gone to Miami-Dade. Maybe there hadn't have been, in my view, an unjustified war if Bush hadn't become president.' It's very disturbing to me."

Maybe there wouldn't have been a war?

Maybe there wouldn't be over a million Iraqi casualties and thousands of US dead and tens of thousands of wounded?

Millions of refugees, depleted uranium dust infecting generations yet unborn?

Maybe?

Wot a piece of shit this so-called libertarian is.

Spud understands that a lot of disaffected former Bushies are expressing remorse or sommat like it at this point and Spud believes that a lot of that is genuine. You'd hafta be an utter moron to think the US is better off now in any way shape or form since Dumbya the meat puppet stole the 2000 election.

That sed, the coincidence in the timing is a little unbelievable. So many rats fleeing the USS BushCo. Some due to conscience no doubt but others are doing so purely fer reason of plausible deniabilty and political positioning.

Stone may be one of them.

Let Dumbya sink like a stone, like the figurehead he always was and then claim to be better than that.

Is old trick.

Spud knows better than that.

Interesting read all in all.

TDB often has the shiznit.

Be Well.

On behalf of the few "utter morons" left to defend George on his Iraq gamble, I still believe the intentions where solid, but the playbook was suspect.

And, I'd like to see some documentation on the "million Iraqi casualties".

And, I'd like to see some documentation on the "million Iraqi casualties".

From a military who "doesn't do casualty estimates"?

Good luck.

1.2 million dead Iraqis is the current estimate.

5 million refugees inside and outside the country.

Saddam killed 300,000 of his own people while supported by the US fer 30 years.

America quadrupled that number in 5 years.

USA USA USA!/snark>

America has the same right to be in Iraq that Hitler had to be in Paris.

None wotsoever.

Ya want oil?

Try getting it the old fashioned way.

BUY IT.

Iraqi nationals have more of a right to try and kill American soldiers than vice versa.

Sad fact but there you go.

Might don't make right.

The only thing that makes right is right.

Wot do imagine Bush's intentions were, btw?

Don't you know yet that the gameplan was to stay and occupy the place as long as possible in order to build a pipeline to Israel?

That's why people were fired who brought up exit strategies.

This incompetence was planned from the get-go.

A page taken from the Israeli playbook in Palestine.

They've managed to keep that immoral and illegal occupation going fer decades now.

Using tactics the Nazis themselves wouldn't have difficulties recognizing.

Torture, terror, ghettoization, a slow stranglehold that chokes off life and hope.

See also Baghdad, the Prison City.

The surge was not a success.

The only thing America has won in Iraq is the enmity of the entire world.

A bed made.

Lie in it.

Be Well.

hummm...so many points and so few answers.

Let me preface my remarks by saying Iraq was a legitimate target. Besides the fact that Iraq violated numerous UN resolutions, Bush thought he could overthrow an evil dicktator (sp) and establish a stable demoracy in the Mideast.

From there peace was sure to follow.

If oil was the plan, why aren't we pumping it now and making tones of money?

And how you can compare America to the Nazis is beyond me. A few bad apples shouldn't cast the entire country in a bad light.

We Americans still like Canada despite Ann Murry and Men without Hats.

Now that a media darling will take office in January, you won't hear much in the way of bad news concerning the president select. Everyone loves him.

.......you are wrong from your premise.......

.....we had no right to attack Iraq, the war was based on lies .........

......what we did was no different from what Germany did to Poland ........

......the leaders responsible are war criminals....
