WASHINGTON (CNN) The Republican Party has hit a new low. Just 34 percent of Americans in a Gallup Poll released Thursday say they have a favorable view of the party, down 40 percent from a month ago, before the election. What's worse: 61 percent of Americans have an unfavorable view of the Republican Party. According to Gallup, that unfavorable rating is the highest the polling organization has recorded for the GOP since the measure was established in 1992.

The GOP has a real problem on their hands. Failed policies and mean spirited rhetoric are decimating the party of Lincoln.

"Meanwhile, Democrats continue to bask in the glow of President-elect Barack Obama's historic victory on November 4. The Gallup poll suggests that 55 percent of Americans hold a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party, with 39 percent saying they have an unfavorable view. Those numbers are mostly unchanged from a mid-October survey."

The GOP's chickens have come home to roost. Amazingly, according to this survey, 59% of Republicans want the GOP to become MORE conservative! What about "America has rejected your brand of conservatism" don't they get?

Mike Huckabee I like. Decent person. Spector, Hagel, retiring Sen. John Warner - the GOP should take a clue from their standing in the public eye and weed out the NeoCons.

"Mike Huckabee I like. Decent person."

I agree but I still don't ever want to see a President Huckabee. He's great on Daily Show though.

Hey, GOPiggies, say it loud, say it proud: "Hard werk, but we EARNED our lousy rating!"

All that's needed now is enough corporate bucks to hire enough PR guys and people will fall right back to voting against their own best interests. For a few years, however, it behooves corporations to go on making us think that we somehow can control our own destinies. herm
