Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Mark Cuban, Internet entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, was charged with insider trading Monday related to the stock of an online search engine, the Securities and Exchange Commission said. The SEC alleges that in June 2004, Mamma.com invited Cuban to participate in a stock offering that would be conducted at a discount to the company's prevailing market price.

From dancing with the stars to dancing with Bubba.

I heard that this illegal activity saved him $750K. That would be like me risking jail time over $750.

Not sure about Mark Cuban's case. But if true, better that he be caught so he'd be able to see the errors of his ways and the pain that brings. Hopefully true repentance will ensue. This way his heart will be softer when God meets him one of these days to accept Him or reject Him for eternity.

Hard for a rich man to enter into God's kingdom --- because the rich gets smug, arrogant, feel no need for God, and live opinionated.

Better go to jail and avoid eternal hell than live in style for a season and go to hell for eternity!

Nobody likes a rich fucking cheater. Throw the book at him.

Can't wait to see this big Obama supporter behind bars. He will be using that big mouth for something else when he is in prison. Don't drop the soap and be sure to gargle with Scope.

This year's Martha Stewart to make all us po folks think they are really policing the transactions of the markets.

What a lovely Christian sentiment!

It will be nice to have one less retard in the stands.
Sincerely, Dirk Nowitzki

I don't know anything about him other than he's a liberal. I hope he's seriously injured in prison and that his dog dies while he's in the big house.

Read the article morans, it's civil not criminal charges. He will just have to cough up the $750k he was SUPPOSED to lose, and be told never to do it again. The SEC must not have that strong of a case against him.

"morans"

Self-reto...ah, nevermind.

Being so close to Canada has its disadvantages...

How about Lesnar?

There is a difference between having realistic opinions and being arrogantly opinionated --- it takes humility and maturity to realize and acknowledge the difference.

shut the fuck up.

As a general rule, you DO NOT want to fuck with the SEC. When they bring charges, most of their cases are air tight. For Cuban to mount such a loud and viscous defense if he could just settle the case for chump change, just doesn't sound right.

I knew Brock could do it. Nothing against Couture, but people don't realize Brock has been training for this for two years. Add that to his natural talent, gifts, and NCAA clout ... A lot of heavyweights are going to suddenly class-down. Can't wait to see the Mir or Noguira bout.

Aaaaayyyyyyyyyy!!!!

This happened a mere 4 days after he posted "President-Elect Obama's First Big Mistake" at Huffington Post; Joe the plumber part deuce.

I don't quite get this?

Martha sold her stock to save 60k--She did lie about it and that got her in jail.

Cuban sold his stock to save 750k--admits he did so but pleads innocence?

So is this a crime or a civil punishment exercise for white collar, unethical dunderheads?

The presumption of innocense is a constitutional right.

I do believe that Martha got the jail time for lying to the Feds.

If Cuban admits it, he pays a fine and probably no jail time.

Actually Cuban is denying he did this--so if he lies to the Feds and they show differently--he could be coaching basketball in the pokey.

Hey Murphy ever hear of denying charges so You and Your Lawyer can negotiate with the Prosecutor. pleaing it down to a smaller crime/punishment?? Happens every day.

I thought the embargo against Cuban's trading in the U.S. was still in effect. I wish I could go to Havana and get one of those 50's cars.

(Where's Emily Litella when you need her ...."nevermind")

Yes Larry--and if lies under oath to the Feds and denies the charges--he is toast--just like Martha.

I see.... Mark Cuban was voted off Dancing with the Stars, while Helio Castroneves won it --- and both are about to face the music. Money money money is a rich man's world (and the rich man's woes too --- if you are caught cheating).

What? A Billionaire Socialist may have broken the law and the gov't is going to do something about it?

I thought only conservatives went to jail, cheated on their wives with multiple affairs, defrauded the citizens, lied, stole, and tortured others without punishment.

What's the world comming too?

Mark Cuban is an asshole. Period.

I thought the embargo against Cuban's trading in the U.S. was still in effect. I wish I could go to Havana and get one of those 50's cars.

Good one, AU.

There'll be a stampede of car buffs to Havana once the Florida Cubans lose their death grip on the embargo.

Another prominent democrat caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Will wonders never cease.

Yeah, when you stop making everything a partisan sausage-fest. Douchebag.

he didnt include whats his name...the billionaire who supports obama because he didnt deal in startups...according to Cuban...

and as rush said...well mark you are an idiot because we all knew that obama wasnt about entapanours(SIC)....he is about the government....

and if you couldnt see that and you still supported him to the tune of a zillion bucks, then you are an idiot...

and I agree.

Pffffffft. I've never seen you criticize an anti-Obama, anti-Clinton (either one), or anti-Democrat post either Mr. Hypocrite.

Typical.

well actually I have.
I seem to remember one time............somewhere about 19 something or other

in fact I got crossways with 101 on something not that long ago or maybe it was someone else.

what's a little LOOSE CHANGE amongst friends?

Cuban became an enemy of the state when he announced that he was going to keep track of the bailout money.
That was clearly not to be tolerated, hence the harassment.

shut the fuck up.

Not close, Rip Van Winkle.

OK WIS

I was a teenager when Mott The Hoople were a known entity. I've noticed many other references you've made on this site which lead me to conclude we're in the same ballpark.

I, like you, learned about the 50's from television, not from personal experience.

Winter sucks. Just had to say that.

Yeah tell that to John Murtha who accused the Haditha marines of cold blooded murder BEFORE they had their day in court. There's one trial left and the rest were acquitted but Murtha refuses to apologize.

Lonnie

Anyways, I call this Karma. He did finance a movie about GI's raping Iraqi's. Guess Karma decided his number was up. It couldn't have happened to a better person to be honest.

He's should just pay the fine and be done with it. I mean if he goes to court, he's going to have his ass handed to him and sent off to jail.

Johnny or Edgar?

Both of them are A-OK in my book

Cold temperatures are another matter entirely LOL

(Even what we call 'cold' down here)

My very first rock concert was Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer and Foghat. $5.75 at the Ft Worth Coleseum. Saw Johnny a couple of months later.

I saw that same show in Detroit albeit by the third song through red glassy eyes. People were generous in those days.... *grin*

The $6 $5 and $4 concerts are sadly a thing of the past.

I bought tickets to AC/DC's show here. How times have changed. Yikes !!

PS GOAT

There are rumors of a short Moving Sidewalks tour.

I'll let you know if it happens. If so my buddy who grew up with Billy Gibbons and the boys can make sure there are a couple of tickets for one if you feel like checking it out.

The guys in the photo I gave ya last New Year's

I saw that same show in Detroit albeit by the third song through red glassy eyes.

Each band's big songs were respectively, "Frankenstein", "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo", and "Free Ride".

Keep me updated on the Mving Sidewalks. Sounds really, really great!

Damn, you two are old.

"....Lordy mama, light my fuse"

Wasn't the lead singer of Foghat "Lonesome Dave" (something).

Three brothers 2 doors down from me were (and still are) exceptional guitarists. The practicing that went on during those days is testimony to the incredible number of unforgettable songs and guitar licks of that time.

The oldest would have played Tobacco Road and ZZ Top all day if it weren't for the plethora of other hooky riffs and songs. So many to choose from....

WIS

You really expect us to believe you discovered Mott The Hoople in the 1990's? Ha ha ha ha You've let the cat out of the bag in a lot of other ways ....

Nice try LOL

Wasn't the lead singer of Foghat "Lonesome Dave" (something).

Peverett...dead.

AU, what did your Father listen to? Mine liked Wildlife and The Hoople. Carry on....

I am jealous. Actually, I learned to play guitar listening to the old Bon Scott version of AC/DC songs. *Laughing*

I got their newest CD. I liked it!

Lonnie

AC/DC is what "10" on the amp dial is designed for ... "11" if you're a member of Spinal Tap LOL

WIS

I learned a long time ago to quit thinking people 5 years older than me were 'old'. It's amazing just how quickly you get there yourself only to find it isn't true - at least in my own personal experience. I remember thinking someone 18 was 'old' when I was 13. It's all subjective.

My doctor tells me I'm in the condition of someone in their 20's. I still keep an open mind. Getting "old" to me means getting stalled in a particular era, when the body can't do what it once did, the mind is shut off to new music, technology, and when one's thought process is closed off to new information that may supplant old ideas of what's what in the world. New music and technology are plenteous in my house, and my doctor tells me I'm in the shape of someone in their 20's.

There isn't a single person who knows me who would consider me 'old'. I saw friends I hadn't seen in 20 years last summer. They remarked how little I've changed. I'm feelin' pretty good from where I sit .... Whatever my driver's license says.
