This is disgusting, and it didn't start with the gulf war(s).. I remember years ago some vietnam vets started investigating the shabbily dressed "vets" hanging out in public places and found that many of them were total fakes..

I'm a Vietnam era vet, but didn't serve in Vietnam.. I've always been very careful not to pass myself off as a "Vietnam Vet" although I've seen others do it.

Guys and gals that have done combat duty deserve all of our respect; fakers that try to collect money should be prosecuted.

It only takes about 5 minutes of conversation with someone that DID serve to discover the bullshit factor in most cases. Anyone doing this for financial gain oughta be ashamed.

AmericanUnity has made it clear on more than one occasion that while he was involved in support that he was not serving in the military. On yesterday's thread about Veteran's Day was the latest.

They should start by looking into where all that money is going from hannitittys "freedom" concerts! You know, the show that's billed as helping the families of fallen soldiers but in reality only about .05 percent of the money actually makes it to the kids of the fallen!

Much easy money is being made of the backs of these soldiers by this "Great American"!

You know I really don't think the FBI should be wasting their time unless the fake Vets are getting disability or VA treatment or any Vet service because then it is fraud.

For some guys being associated with the military is their entire being even if they never served. A lot of guys grew up watching war films and fantasize about the romantic way it was portrayed.

It was Tet '68 and he was aboard a plane that had been flying around. As they returned to the base, making the approach, just about to land, they suddenly realized that an enemy flag had been hoisted up on the flagpole. The base had been overrun.

I think there should be some consideration of what the fake soldier's were getting and doing while they were representing themselves as soldiers. I mean if they just committed fraud then maybe the sentence of 6 months is appropriate. However, I remember that dumbass kid Jessee I forget his last name was caught committing fraud and making statements to moveon.org about how it was over in Iraq when he'd never left the US. I think he should have gotten a hell of a lot longer than 6 months because he made some comments that reflected badly on the military.

The above story was in the front when the Harry Reid smear letter came out against Rush about his fake soldiers comment. This is part of that investigation and yes there was morre than one. Does this really surprise anyone?
