Obama's first Whitehouse staff Meeting:

Them clothes got laundry numbers on them. You remember your number and always wear the ones that has your number. Any man forgets his number spends a night in the box. These here spoons you keep with you. Any man loses his spoon spends a night in the box. There's no playing grab-ass or fighting in the building. You got a grudge against another man, you fight him Saturday afternoon. Any man playing grab-ass or fighting in the building spends a night in the box. First bell's at five minutes of eight when you will get in your bunk. Last bell is at eight. Any man not in his bunk at eight spends the night in the box. There is no smoking in the prone position in bed. To smoke you must have both legs over the side of your bunk. Any man caught smoking in the prone position in bed... spends a night in the box. You get two sheets. Every Saturday, you put the clean sheet on the top... the top sheet on the bottom... and the bottom sheet you turn in to the laundry boy. Any man turns in the wrong sheet spends a night in the box. No one'll sit in the bunks with dirty pants on. Any man with dirty pants on sitting on the bunks spends a night in the box. Any man don't bring back his empty pop bottle spends a night in the box. Any man loud talking spends a night in the box. You got questions, you come to me. I'm President Obama. I'm responsible for order in here.

GOPpers put on their thinkification hats. Dobson & Palin wet themselves:

"These struggles come as the party prepares for a broad ideological battle, in particular over how much to emphasize social issues like opposition to abortion rights and gay rights. Party leaders said the focus on those issues had constricted the party's appeal to moderate and independent voters more interested in jobs, health care, education and other issues that touch their lives in more concrete ways.

"We can't be obsessed with issues that are not the issues that are important to American voters," said Jim Greer, the Florida Republican chairman and a likely candidate for national party leader."

What a coincidence-60 pakistani taliban happen to be hanging out where a NATO convoy was going to be-

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) Dozens of masked insurgents blocked a mountain pass and hijacked at gunpoint a convoy of trucks carrying military vehicles and other supplies bound for U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan, an official said Tuesday.

Attacks are common against supply trucks that use the Khyber Pass in Pakistan's northwest to ferry supplies to U.S. and NATO troops across the border, but Monday's raid was particularly brazen.

Some 60 masked gunmen blocked the route at several points and assaulted the convoy, said Fazal Mahmood, an administration official for the Khyber tribal region.

Pakistani security forces traded fire with the gunmen but were forced to retreat. The militants took the trucks along with the drivers.

Mahmood blamed Pakistani militants Taliban movement for the attack.

its pretty normal that so many leftists are acting surprised that bush was so cordial in offering obama a visit so soon and how he treated him

but this is what I have said all along
bush has more class than any of you from the left has ever been willing to even address much less agree with
so this is no surprise to those of us who know him

UNLIKE WHEN BUSH took office and blowjob billy was ten mins late and had gore with them........

and this reminds me of what krauthammer said the other night about how republicans should respond to the election.;
as he said........react the COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF how the dems reacted to the election of bush both times and THAT is the way I think they should react as well

so did anyone else hear rush talk about this yesterday

in CALIFORNIA....( where else...) the new york times says that bake sales are not not allowed in school because of the law passed about good nutrition and all that....

and the times actually called the backlash against this....KIDS selling things across the street

they called this a "flagrant nutritional disobedience"

sounds like a NEA member wrote that line......

so in that spirit...I think today I will go to the
"equine momentom anylsys center"...........

and then maybe learn how to spell analys

BLT- what else could Bush do? I mean, Clinton left Bush a hefty surplus, a strong economy and world leadership.

Bush is leaving Obama with a stinking pile of shit. He has to show some class, since he sure hasn't shown ability.

In fairness, Bush's date certain withdrawl agreement with Iraq shows he has some small sense of reality. Way too little, way too late, but still better than that other guy's 100 year war plan.

Fifty things you might not know about Barack Obama

www.telegraph.co.uk

(It's a soft pitch, I know.)

Here, let me help. Analysis.

"Democrats ran on "paygo" in 2006, promising to offset any new spending increases or tax cuts with comparable tax increases or spending cuts. Once in charge on Capitol Hill they quickly made exceptions, waiving paygo no fewer than 12 times to accommodate some $398 billion in new deficit spending -- not that the press corps bothered to notice."

Who would expect Democrats to keep their word. They can and do always blame Republicans. And now for the money line:

"I'm not sure the old rules are relevant anymore." Why not? Because, Mr. Cooper said, "It would be unfair to the new President to put him in a budget straitjacket."

Now we can't possibly expect Obama to be on any sort of budget now can we. Good grief, it is only our tax dollars.

More hope and change, oh yea!

I smashed all of my neighbors kids' pumpkins just prior to Halloween, and just last night I went out and cut a giant slit in to their "inflatable" turkey, and snapped the head off of the male pilgrim. I'm not going to even tell you what I did to the female pilgrim.

Bad time to fart.

www.youtube.com

are you still showing us how your side can tell wrong context on a statement of mccain.
do you think you can STILL get away with that 100 years comment

get real bud........that was proven to be not correct a long time ago......

and as i said.....he showed a lot more class than clinton did which is not surprising to any of us.

and another look into bush has been on the news.
the converation he had on obamas firt meeting as written in obamas book
even then bush showed class and integrity.......

and once more.........I am commenting on how the left seems to be surprised at it all......

BL2, the Republicans haven't been acting any better than we did. I won't lie, I am one of the ones that believes Bush stole at least one of his elections. And I still do. But y'all are resorting to straight up name calling. I'm so sick of hearing about Socialist Obama.

wow...........this gal coming this way

I sure hope she cant see under this table

WHOA NELLY.............oops sorry...I was diverted again.........

INVADE IRAN! START ANOTHER WAR! THERE'S PLENTY OF TIME! DO IT! I DOUBLE DOG DARE YOU!

To prevent the cost of the bailout being borne by the general population that had no responsibility for the crisis, public authorities must turn to those who were responsible: the amount necessary to bail-out financial institutions must be taken from the assets of large shareholders and executive officers. This is obviously only possible if all the assets are taken into account, not just the much reduced portion involved in the bankrupt financial companies.

The State should also file lawsuits against shareholders and executive officers who are responsible for the financial catastrophe so as to get both financial compensations (beyond the cost of the bail-out) and prison sentences if guilt is proven. Taxation should also be applied to large fortunes in order to finance a solidarity funds for those who are hit by the crisis, notably the unemployed, and to create jobs in sectors that are useful to society.

Many complementary measures are needed: opening companies' ledgers, including trade unions, suppressing bank secrecy, prohibiting tax havens starting with a prohibition for any company to have any asset in or transaction with a tax haven, progressive taxation of transactions on currencies or derivatives, monitoring money exchange and capital flow, no new measure aiming at deregulating or liberalizing markets and public services, restoring quality public services The degradation of the economic situation will bring back onto the agenda the transfer of manufacturing industries and private services to the public sector as well as the implementation of large-scale projects to create jobs.

This would make it possible to get out of the current crisis while taking people's interests into account. We have to organize with strength that favor radical solutions with social justice as priority.

Excerpted from Eric Toussaint @ Counterpunch, president of the Committee for the Cancellation of Third World Debt Belgium Translated by Christine Pagnoulle and Brian Hunt

Oh dear lord! Everyone is writting so damn much today. I am outta here.

BUT before I head for the track I might think about going to a gun shop and joining the thousands of others who are using their 2nd amendment right before obama even tries to take it away from us

in the first days after obama was elected ONE store in fort worth reported over 100,000 in sales

of course obama doesnt HAVE to regulate guns. already mentioned was a ban on ammunition.
so he would then say...WELL I WONT take away your guns.......but with no ammo????

and IF that occurs, just how typical is THAT?>???

you can STILL get away with that 100 years comment

Doesn't really matter anymore BLT. Mccain got his ass handed to him by Barak HUSSEIN Obama. But keep on going with the Barak HUSSEIN Obama's a commie socialist thing. It works so well...

As for "did anyone hear this on rush", no one listens to rush. I did fart last night, I think that's an equivalent auditory event, though not as smelly as rush.

and more and more info coming in about the chicago "THUG" hired as chief of staff

after the clinton election at a celebration dinner, he rose to talk and the story goes that he took a knife and jabbed it into the table as he screamed a name of people he considered to have betrayed the clinton machine and after he said thier name as he jabbed the knife he yelled

Aren't we supposed to discuss THIS weeks news here?

"DEAD"
The party formerly known as the Republicans. I'm like, you betcha, also.

And wasn't the Clinton election 16 years ago-surely a body or two would have shown up by now, also. do try and keep up.

Aren't we supposed to discuss THIS weeks news here?

BLT's got a 14.4 modem. He's a little behind. Either that, or they moved the Library's computers closer to the juvenile section.

oh you are REALLY funny today....LOL

and NOW WHAT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WaITING FOR

LIBERAL HYPOCRISY HISTORICAL MOMENT

as we move to the wayback machine this morning, lets salute all of our veterans..........thank you

and now back we go to days past on the DRUDGE RETORT

hans: this deficit is killing us. that damn bush is running that up so much we wont be able to ever pay off china

norhguy: these deficits are going to mean the end of our republic and we had better get rid of bush as soon as we can or its over.

unknown female poster.........."oh I had sex with that bl2 fellow and wow.....what a night, what a man, what a penis...........whew, he went all night long and then wanted some more the next morning

AND NOW BACK to just last sunday
the place is abc and the show is little georgiges

Fareed Zakima" "deficits are a fact of life"
talking about how obama WILL be able to do everything that rep clybern has talked about earlier in the show

so bush deficits are bad
obama deficits are good

and that concludes another

LIBERAL HYPOCRISY HISTORICAL MOMENT

I would like again state my dismay that they have banned shrooms in Amsterdam. This is taken all of the Obama Victory wind out of my sails.

I just told the boss I would never remove the toilet flange bolts again. That was close.

hey BL2 I'm pretty sure Fareed Zakaria doesn't post here and even if he does I'm pretty sure he's not northguy or hans. Thanks for trying, though.

p.s. you're really bad at this

and as the clock ticks let me remind you libbys here that you had better enjoy this obamtopia while you can because republicans wont be in the woods forever
I agree with the comment from rep pence sunday

the republican minority WITH THE american people just as when they FORCED pelosi to stop her liberal FACISTS adenda of keeping the drilling issue in the dark..........that repubs and the american people are a MAJORITY and its important to remind the american people of issues that are important to them

and this is important as he also predicted the NEW CONGREsS will replace the ban as soon as they can to placate MOVEON.org who has already called in thier chips with obama and the congressmen they spent millions on are next........

AND IN ADDITION

to see that republicans wont be gone for too long

look at the states where people voted for obama but reelected republican governors in one case with 69 % if the vote as well as a reminder that when 75 % of the people said that we were on the wrong course and in such an anti republican year
MCCAIN DID GET 46 % of the vote...........

so dont write us off too soon............

BL2... pretty sure this election showed showed that republicans are not a majority anymore. American people of course. But the republicans are out. "The Majority" are sick of your corporate greed politics.

Clean it up, short crank.

look at the states where people voted for obama but reelected republican governors

so dont write us off too soon............

And then there's this...

"Democrats expanded their one-party control from 23 states to 27 states, while Republicans held steady at 14 states, according to preliminary results."

Okay BL2, continue to post your inane babble while ignoring any post that has anything to do with validly criticizing you. It's hilarious to watch.

You evidence a great deal of promise for success in the rap world with your expressive lyrics, and for the rap genre, an intelligent well-articulated message. No doubt about it.

Congratulations and here's wishing you continued success.

Apparently Johnson, it's all YOUR fault. You called the Taliban and told them when the trucks were gonna show-up, even gave 'em a complete inventory of what the trucks contained.
I realize you only did this because bushblowertoo said it was OK-but, after all-have you no shame?

Golly gee, I didn't know there were so many "otherwise abled" people posting here. Now we have someone with a unique form of synesthesia, smelling speech.

Here is a more common form of the ability.

www.sciencedaily.com

Hearing Colors And Seeing Sounds: How Real Is Synesthesia?

ScienceDaily (July 26, 2007) In the psychological phenomenon known as "synesthesia," individuals' sensory systems are a bit more intertwined than usual. Some people, for example, report seeing colors when musical notes are played.

It's unfortunate that the sounds that you hear are "smelly." But I suppose that every ability may bring a curse with it. May you be blessed in the future by smelling sounds as rose water, or some other attractive scent.

Kind of a longwinded way to say that you're a dick.

George W. Bush is not the devil, as most democrats would have you believe.

George W. Bush is not a stellar president, as most republicans would have you believe.

Barack H. Obama is not the anti-christ, as most republicans would have you believe.

Barack H. Obama is not the messiah, as most democrats would have you believe.

Bush wasn't nearly as bad as most of you paint him to be.

Obama won't be nearly as good as most of you think he will be.

You aren't going to get rich. You probably won't even notice a huge difference in your taxes. In fact, your day-to-day life will probably experience absolutely zero difference.

So please, if you want to discuss something, at least pick a topic worth discussing and do so with at least some modicum of intelligence rather than excessively repeating a monosyllabic sound effect or referring to other people as portions of female anatomy.

Were the military in cahoots with "the bandidts?" It certainly sounds contrived. Who is with whom.

I expect the pakistani security forces were on the phone pdq after getting the trip info.

Absolutely. I'm with you briwo in your sage counsel to those Drudge participants, who can't cope with reality, or process information that does not conform to their preconceived model without experiencing great distress.

Why, they might even be well-advised to seek haven in sanitoria, where they would be more sheltered from the vagaries of life, and not be required to rely on their own screening mechanisms.

They are indeed fortunate to have you as an advocate for those with weaker constitutions, a man who will read and screen posts, a censor for those among us, who cannot deal with the stress of recognizing that views of the world contrary to our own, exist.

I regret, briwo, that I must depart these boards for the nonce, and cannot immediately benefit from your kind proffer of advice and willingness to intervene, and bear the burden of exposure for all of us. You're so, er so, godlike. There should be a beatification program for people such as you to recognize your spirit of self-sacrifice. Why even canonization may await you. Ecce homo. What a man.

Obama team announces rules on lobbyists
WASHINGTON, 11.11.2008
By NEDRA PICKLER , Associated Press Writer

President-elect Obama, who said lobbyists would not run his White House, signaled Tuesday that lobbyists could serve in his transition so long as their activities do not involve areas of policy they have tried to influence in the past year.

John Podesta, a top transition aide to Obama, said federal lobbyists will be prohibited from any lobbying while they are at work on the transition.

The transition office said in a statement, "if someone has lobbied in the last 12 months, they are prohibited from working in the fields of policy on which they lobbied."

Podesta said federal lobbyists may not contribute financially to the transition. He called the guidelines the toughest ever imposed by a presidential transition. But they seem to give lobbyists somewhat more leeway than Obama suggested they would have when he campaigned for the presidency.

In a speech last November in Spartanburg, S.C., Obama said: "I have done more to take on lobbyists than any other candidate in this race ... I don't take a dime of their money, and when I am president, they won't find a job in my White House."

At other times, he said lobbyists would not "run" his White House.

So is this a broken promise again from BO?

Only if you can point to anything in that article that contradicts his statement.

ChickeninOven lands a post in the FF's section as well as landing that same post in the Newsworthy section.
Well done ChickeninOven, well done.

"Only if you can point to anything in that article that contradicts his statement."

It all depends upon what your definition of "lobbyist" means.

The campaign has no problem accepting money from the spouses of Washington lobbyists. A database search conducted for this column by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks campaign-finance issues, found that more than 20 spouses of prominent Washington lobbyists have donated to the Obama campaign, including the wives of Dan Glickman, the head of the Motion Picture Association of America; Norman Brownstein, a prominent Denver-based lawyer who has lobbied for Oracle, Toshiba, and Comcast; and Stuart Pape of Patton Boggs, Washington's foremost lobbying firm, who has lobbied for Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer, and the Smokeless Tobacco Council.

The campaign accepts money from lobbyists registered in state capitals. It accepts money from partners at law firms that engage in lobbying. It accepts money from the C.E.O.'s, chairs, and officers of corporations, but not their lobbyists. Obama has received more than $627,000 in contributions from employees of Goldman Sachs, including, for example, $2,300 (the maximum contribution allowed) from the likes of managing director George Butcher. But Michael Berman, a registered lobbyist (and a former adviser to Walter Mondale), cannot give money to Obama because his firm, the Duberstein Group, has lobbied on behalf of Goldman Sachs on energy and tax issues. Aren't such policies a little inconsistent with the ban? "Maybe," said the senior Obama official. "But it's important symbolism."

www.portfolio.com

Looks like Obama, or is it Osame now, wants to bring back the draft:

EMANUEL: Universal Civil Defense Training I think he had it at 18, but we were saying somewhere between the ages of 18 and 25, you will do three months of training. You can do it in your(inaudible). Some point in college you can do just that. There can be nothing wrong with all Americans having a joint similar experience of civil ...what we call civil defense training or civil service...some sense to country in preparation, which will give people a sense of what it means to be an American. We propose three months. At the end of the day someone says it should be four more.

OSBO25 makes sense.

(I was waiting for Obama to perform miracles and justify the fawning liberals --- but you spoilt it with your dose of reality).

Democrats and lefties generally are so dead-set serious and hateful. Obama seems humor deprived. He just doesn't "get" humor. But this seems typical of lefties, and now a study demonstrates that the rigid lefties live in a world that is entirely confrontational and ...

Oh well, the article. And in the N.Y. Times no less, a publication that's a practiced sycophant extolling virtues of the left. Is appreciation of humor now considered a vice?

www.nytimes.com

Excerpts:

While Americans choose their next president, let us consider a question more amenable to science: Which candidate's supporters have a better sense of humor? In strict accordance with experimental protocol, we begin by asking you to rate, on a scale of 1 (not funny at all) to 9 (hilarious) the following three attempts at humor:

The researchers picked out a variety of jokes good, bad, conventional, absurdist to look for differences in reactions between self-described liberals and conservatives.

They expected conservatives to like traditional jokes, like the one about the golfing widower, that reinforce racial and gender stereotypes. And because liberals had previously been reported to be more flexible and open to new ideas, the researchers expected them to get a bigger laugh out of unconventional humor, like Jack Handey's "Deep Thoughts" about the reindeer effect and Hambone.

Indeed, the conservatives did rate the traditional golf and marriage jokes as significantly funnier than the liberals did. But they also gave higher ratings to the absurdist "Deep Thoughts." In fact, they enjoyed all kinds of humor more.

"I was surprised," said Dan Ariely, a psychologist at Duke University, who collaborated on the study with Elisabeth Malin, a student at Mount Holyoke College. "Conservatives are supposed to be more rigid and less sophisticated, but they liked even the more complex humor."

Do conservatives have more fun? Should liberals start describing themselves as humor-challenged?

(cont.)

(cont.)

But then why didn't the liberals in the Boston experiment like the nonsense humor of "Deep Thoughts" as much as the conservatives did? One possible explanation is that conservatives' rigidity mattered less than another aspect of their personality. Rod Martin, the author of "The Psychology of Humor," said the results of the Boston study might reflect another trait that has been shown to correlate with a taste for jokes: cheerfulness.

"Conservatives tend to be happier than liberals in general," said Dr. Martin, a psychologist at the University of Western Ontario. "A conservative outlook rationalizes social inequality, accepting the world as it is, and making it less of a threat to one's well-being, whereas a liberal outlook leads to dissatisfaction with the world as it is, and a sense that things need to change before one can be really happy."

Another possible explanation is that conservatives, or at least the ones in Boston, really aren't the stiffs they're made out to be by social scientists. When these scientists analyze conservatives, they can sound like Victorians describing headhunters in Borneo. They try to be objective, but it's an alien culture.

The studies hailing liberals' nonconformity and "openness to ideas" have been done by social scientists working in a culture that's remarkably homogenous politically. Democrats outnumber Republicans by at least seven to one on social science and humanities faculties, according to studies by Daniel Klein, an economist at George Mason University. If you're a professor who truly "seeks new experiences," try going into a faculty club today and passing out McCain-Palin buttons.

Could it be that the image of conservatives as humorless, dogmatic neurotics is based more on political bias than sound social science? Philip Tetlock, a psychologist at the University of California, Berkeley, who reviews the evidence of cognitive differences in his 2005 book, "Expert Political Judgment," said that while there were valid differences, "liberals and conservatives are roughly equally closed-minded in dealing with dissonant real-world evidence."

So perhaps conservatives don't have a monopoly on humorless dogmatism. Maybe the stereotype of the dour, rigid conservative has more to do with social scientists' groupthink and wariness of outsiders which, come to think of it, resembles the herding behavior of certain hoofed animals.

****************************** ****************************** ****************************** **************************

Seems as if the liberal world view will enable them to be happy on "The twelfth of never."

There are also some jokes in the article.

Our media claims that it is impossible to joke about Obama.

Fuck them!

This is funny!

65.55.172.183

Well, not so much funny as trite.
