How can you not be moved by Obama's compassion & generosity?

Simply amazing.

Be Well.

Joe sucks. I would be all for the the senate planting something on him and then framing him.

Dems should purge all elected offials from their party who don't agree with everything in their socialst, pacifist, politically correct agenda.

Obama is an astute observer: that in politics fortunes can reverse in a few years. So keeping Lieberman in the caucus could come in handy.

Remember when Bush got reelected, he had some political capital to spare; and now look at where he is at the polls.

What a drag he blew it on all his corporate buddies according to plan. He's right where he belongs. I can't figure out why only 76% of people disapprove of his Presidency.

Not a surprise, Obama realizes that only complete and total fools want to throw a former Dem VP candidate under the bus...or to do something like, I don't know, maybe "planting something on him and then framing him."

Obama has proven that he is a saavy politico, and knows that there will be a time where he needs Joe to vote Democratic.

Well, with the unpopular war and the economic crisis, low polls is expected of Bush --- still I consider him a President who is faithful in his primary calling.

I guess Hans might be happy to see me making a positive comment on Obama. LOL.

He should move Joe to a position, an appointment, that suits Joe's ambition. With the open Senate seat, get a Democrat to replace him.

Another point to consider is the amount of Jewish votes Obama got. Many of them still have some sympathy for Joe Lieberman.

That said, I'm disappointed at the way the Jewish Americans are not reciprocating the solid support evangelicals have for Jews and Israel. If this continues, a cooling may begin --- at least in closing their pocketbooks for Jewish causes. I support a Jewish organisation and I am very discouraged about it right now.

Its a puzzle to me too....

Just as dems take Black votes for granted, I guess the Jews also take evangelical support for granted.

"... everything in their socialst, pacifist, politically correct agenda."

Only three, Thommy? You don't include terrorist, atheist and communist? herm

change???????????????????????

what the fuck is going on?????????????????

another fucking liar takes charge.

you must pay for these fuckers.

"I would be all for the the senate planting something on him and then framing him."

If Joe goes Republican and gets involved with toe-tappers, we might learn that he's not circumcised and has been scamming the Israel lobby all along. herm

The ultimate moral dilemma: What if Joe were the 60th Demo vote in the Senate? herm

If Obama wants to be bipartisan and have Republicans in his cabinet, it would make sense that he would okay Lieberman caucusing with the Dems.

You do realize that the only reason so many evangelicals are 'for Israel' is because they believe some fairy tale about a 'Final Battle' happening there. NO OTHER REASON.

This is a cost-cutting measure. If you allow Lieberman to make speeches, no one in Congress will ever need their medical insurance to pay for Ambien.

Evangelicals want a safe and secure Israel so that GOD can kill all them bastards during the Rapture.

Makes sense, like all things religious.

Joe Lieberman should be stripped of all committee chairs and given the choice to caucus wherever they'll take him. Otherwise, let Mr. Lieberman for Connecticut be a true independent. The Lieberman's committe chairmanships should go to true Democrats. The People Want CHANGE NOW! Lieberman is supports Bush's failed policies. He's a turncoat and can't be trusted. If he wants the Dems to trust him he needs to earn it, otherwise, let him be an independent and when he comes up for reelection the Dems need to support Ned LaMont or whomever the democrats in Connecticut nominate.

There are moderate Republicans that can be counted on for their support. Just because Lieberman doesn't caucus with the dems, doesn't me he suddenly changes his voting record. Afterall, he has his constiutents to answer to.

Joe is a hero for sticking with his beliefs, I guess only douche bags that change with the winds and party lines are your heros.

I am a socialist and always will be REX. I believe the rich should send me money.

You know my profession, I couldn't agree moHr, man.

If Lieberman was the 60th vote that Dems needed to be fillibuster proof, he would have some clout. Otherwise, he has none. Reid should get rid of him immediately. This is the WRONG fight for Obama to pick with his fellow Dems.

I don't think he's picking a fight. He stated his opinion, but is leaving it to the Dem. Caucus to make the determination.

Obama is a pragmatist and he knows that there will come a day when the Democratic leadership will tell Joe Lieberman that he either votes with them on some as yet unknown issue or he will sacrifice his committee chairmanship. Joe's chairmanship is Reid's and Obama's ace in the hole when push comes to shove, meanwhile he does no harm and usually votes with them anyway.

How is this not change?

It is change from the partisanship of the past.

Bush and Rove would have immediately and totally ostracized any Repub who dared even vote with the Dems.

Their Congress was a rubber stamp, with signing statements thrown in to defeat any stray Dem amendments.

Danni has it right.

Maybe we should create an AWARD for Joe Liebrman for speaking at the GOP convention.

Pat on the back GOOD JOB JOE!

hmm.....

I'd like to see the Democrats toss Lieberman from his committee chairmanships and out of the caucus -- the guy's a complete tool who shouldn't benefit from Democratic gains in Congress that he actively opposed. But I don't think it's going to happen. This is smarter politics for Obama -- a Senate fight over Lieberman takes the eye off the ball.

I pretty much agree with you there RCade, wrong fight, wrong time. If 2010 brings 2-3 new Democratic seats in the Senate it becomes the right fight, right time if Obama chooses. Also, by backing Lieberman now it delivers the very effective message of "When I need your vote on ANYTHING Joe, you're my bitch".

Leecherman should be forced to run naked down I95 in Connecticut during rush hour. Then, maybe, he can come back into the fold.

I like Tiger's plan. But please, I don't want to see the video.

What you said CBob.

The video will require only a very small blue spot.

He should move Joe to a position, an appointment, that suits Joe's ambition. With the open Senate seat, get a Democrat to replace him.

Problem is, Conn has a Republican governor, so Joe would be replaced by a GOpper. Same problem, reversed for McCain. Hard to offer him a admin. job because he'd be replaced by a Dem.

Lieberman is a traitor for sure, but we need him to get to 60. In this case, I think we need to hold our noses and know that the alternative is even worse.

Maybe old Joe can run as Palin's V.P. nominee in 2012. The Shrew and the Jew. That should guarantee Obama's reelection regardless of what goes down the next 4 years.

When I need your vote on ANYTHING Joe, you're my bitch"

The one problem with that approach is that the person that is being denied Lieberman's chairmanship may have to be "convinced" to "toe the line".

"the shrew and the jew".

now that's fucking hillarious!

Dude, get off his dick. And another thing, he wants him to caucus with the dems so he is less likely to vote with repubs. They are trying to get as close to the 60 vote majority as possible and Lieberman in their camp helps that number. Compassionate and generous, for cryin' out loud.
