Get ready to be pissed then. Obama's already backing off of the troop withdrawal from Iraq. Instead of 16 months he now says it must be a 'responsible' withdrawal. In other words, don't expect us to leave any sooner than what the security agreement calls for. Right now they are talking 2010, which still could fall under the 16 months but it won't be becuase Obama called for it. I suppose we'll see on that.

Also, don't get to excited if the middle class doesn't see those tax cuts. Clinton promised the same thing and it never happened. It will be fun to watch how many promises he doesn't keep.

I'm curious, what do the dems here think about it if Obama doesn't get the troops out in say 2 years? He was very adamant about 16 months and he said it many times to help get votes.

Those questions were never pondered by the Obama sycophant. They are simpletons and the only thing that matters are the talking point. They simply heard the same thing everyone else heard, only to them it meant "He's getting us out of Iraq".

The thing is, since the best we were going to get from either major party candidate is the removal of "combat troops," and the one's remaining were going to need protection from 10's of thousands more contractors at 3-4 times the price of a regular soldier, and being that the economy was the major issue of the day last tuesday, you'd have to ask yourselves which plan was going to cost more? And if that answer didn't make you happy, well wouldn't it have made sense to take the third option with your vote?

It might mean something to us that combat troops are being withdrawn, but if they're going to be replaced with contractors, to the Iraqi's, thats a distinction without a modicum of difference. And if the Blackwater contractors are as gung ho as even some of the tamer stories we've heard, and if they are legally untouchable by Iraqi law or US law, then maybe .... ah, screw it.

The best part is "combat troops" will still be there. Somebody will be protecting the bases besides blackwater.

Obama is simply telling the masses what they wanted to hear. That's enough for them.

So instead of 145,000 soldiers, there will only be 93,000 and the sycophants will claim we're out of Iraq...
