Obama spent more than $820 million since announcing his candidacy in Springfield, Ill.
His Republican rival, Sen. John McCain, spent $342 million.
Harvard University's Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy says Obama recieved 69% favorable media coverage while John McCain recieved 43%
31% of voters thought that a President Obama would cut their taxes. Only 11% expected a tax cut from a McCain administration.
After the benefit of 25% better media coverage, over 2-1 Spending difference, the state count was 26 for Obama and 21 for McCain with 66M votes for Obama and 58M for McCain.
Looks like almost half the country - no matter how you cut it - is not feeling like we were "liberated".
The only thing you have been "liberated" from is your money. The Bush tax cuts will expire - all of you (that are working for more than $42K per year) will see your taxes increase - some significantly. You may see your 401K in Jeopardy.
After all of that - and your haranging on Iraq (see multiple post above) Obama now stating he will not pull out of Iraq quickly.
Now there are all these "positive" articles on Iraq. But the Surge didn't work?!?
You guys whined about Bush and our Allies...but now Obama is saying he wants to bomb one of them!
Face it. There are two sides to every coin.
You believe in Big Gov. and someone to tell you want to do, punish the people that are successfull - they don't deserve it. Give some of the success to the people who did not work for it. "Free" health care, "Free" drugs. "Free" money back from the government.
You want everything handed to you on a silver platter..and then there is the rest of us who know that anytime the government "gives" you something - it takes something else away...mostly freedom.
So ..you now have Obama ..but no mandate from the population. And the minute he renages on the tax cut promise everyone will be saying "off with his head".
I hope you like what you voted for...and maybe next time you will actually think before you pull the lever.
