That's a great choice.

Awesome.

You mean, someone heading the EPA who actually takes the law seriously and isn't a buttboy for the corporations?

Is that allowed?

It's going to take some getting used to, we ain't used to people running government agencies who actually believe in the mission of the agency. For too many years the heads of many agencies were there to prevent the agencies from accomplishing their missions.

THIS
THIS
THIS
THIS

A thousand times THIS!

BushCo put former lobbyists of some of the worst polluters on the planet in positions of Authority at the EPA. The very same people the EPA used to struggle against. So disheartening was this move that many good people left the EPA after it become an indisputable joke.

RFK as head of the EPA sounds good to Spud.

Now Spud wants to hear wot Hillary is gonna do fer Obama.

That oughta be GOOD!

Be Well.

Maybe she will bake some cookies.
Just a joke.

I've heard some suggest her for majority leader of the Senate. Works for me! Nothing against Harry Reid but we need someone who will get things done and that ain't him.

Kennedy would be a great start in fixing the EPA but I still think it should be a cabinet level position, the Department of the Environment.

"I've heard some suggest her for majority leader of the Senate. Works for me!"

Doesn't for me. I want her as Attorney General - not only for the expertise she'd bring to the job, but for the certain knowledge that Bush and Cheney had crapped their pants.

Won't happen with Hillary as Attorney General. You forget that She is a Former First Lady so She belongs to that select society. I highly doubt She would turn on a Sister and Her Brother in Law so to speak. Besides Bill Clinton is Dubya's Brother in spirit since Dubya's Daddy "Adopted" Him. I can guarantee You that if You pick Hillary as AG NOTHING will happen.

Larry

And RFKjr as EPA command... hmm. Yes. +1 again.

What Danni said.

But a question. Shouldn't he have some background in quarter horses or NASCAR or something?

Works fer Spud too.

Be Well.

Yeah, not in my backyard Kennedy -

"[h]undreds of flashing lights to warn airplanes away from the turbines will steal the stars and nighttime views. The noise of the turbines will be audible onshore ... [and] the project will damage the views from 16 historic sites and lighthouses on the cape and nearby islands."

He's pro-environment just like the rest of libs are - as long as it doesn't effect his viewscape.

CHANGE we can believe in! More kennedys in govt. is always a good thing - not!

Snark said all that needed to be said and Spud added more!

A huge thumbs up here.

Sweet

However! With a Social Lib like this...

I can see many if not most Corporations stepping up efforts to move offshore.

I think Corporations should be reponsible way they pollute, but this guy is way over the top.

The proverbial straw.

Good Choice.

EDDIE

RFK, Jr. would be a great pick. About time we had people who cared about the mission of their respective agencies.

Right on Edweird. We outsource the polluters and grow green. Coal for instance can be clean processed through pyrolysis. Just depends on the patent holder and who builds the plants. You can even extract the sulfur and other contaminants to produce pure carbon. Big bonus for the northern plains.

Maybe Hillary could pilot Air Force 1.

I agree. He's right for the job. I'm sure all of the larger corporations who need EPA approval know him well. At least their attornies do.

No, Hillary is reserved for Attorney General. It
would be Janet Reno all over again. How nostalgic.

Great guy. Great choice.

Bullshit. Jim Doyle, and I'm prepared to place a wager.

Great choice!

For the past 8 years (and during the Reagan years)
I've wondered what all those EPA employees do to fill their days. Are they told to "look busy" or do they spend their 8 hours reading magazines and novels and taking 4 hour lunch breaks? Dedicated environmentalists must have been frustrated and depressed, but it would be a dream job for a lazy dude who doesn't give a damn about the environment.

If there are any EPA employees reading this, please enlighten me.

Frontline Special on global warming "Heat"

Check the interviews. Clean coal is a myth. The main test site in Florida has never run any test at all.

Fuck yeah.

I couldn't imagine anyone better as the head of the EPA. Someone who actually cares about the environment. A refreshing and necessary change from those who are sent in only to abuse the agency's mandate.

And Kennedy is not just some hippie tree hugger. He's smart. He could be the first to bring greater good than harm.

Very, VERY encouraging news, this. So far, Obama's gone 2 for 2 in my book.

No way in hell is Hillary gonna be AG. He doesn't "owe" her anything, he doesn't need her for anything, either. I'd be very disappointed in him if he gave major positions or nominations to people who he "owed". I trust him to pick the people he feels are best for the job.

How refreshing!

The talk about Emmanuel being chose to appease tghe "Jewish Lobby" is just ridiculous, imo, and a sign that already, the cynicy are going to do their best to thrown everything he does in question.

Go ahead, get someone in the EPA who will bog down industry and cause people to lose jobs. That will just make it easier for the Repubs to be voted back in in two years.

It just doesn't make any sense to me that we keep our country clean by forcing corps to make the air and water cleaner than when they got it, but the same Corporation will go to indonesia and crap all over the environment.

Eddie, you are right... If they cause jobs to go to other countries, they will be voted out.

I have heard lots of people on here say that this guy is smart. That Obama is smart... Well, they need to put their thinking caps on and come up with a solution.

Is there a way to keep the environment clean and yet keep jobs here?

It is a bit similar to the argument about Off-shore drilling. If *we* do it, it will be done in a environmentally conscious manner. If we don't then it will be done in other countries which are not so conscious. So, which is better for the planet?

It may end up being a trade-off. To do something that are not that great here does less harm than letting (or forcing) them to be done in another country.

Cripe, take a look at what is happening in China. If we had kept those jobs here, would we be poluting as much as China?

you have GOT to be kidding

the only other post with names being bandied about more liberal than this one is on cnn last night when they said that kerry could be secretary of state.........

and even howard deans name was mentioned for a post.....

you have GOT to be fuckin kidding me

why doesnt he just hand the white house back to us now and get it over with...........

and some people actually thought he would govern from part of the center.............yeah right...

Yes, go ahead and put another leftist nut in position so he can kill businesses and raise unemployment. Liberal lie like hell when they say they want wind technologies. They want these items as long as it isn't in their damn backyard. Liberalism is full of hypocracy. I have no doubt that Obama is full of these same hypocracies.

Like I said before, hold on to your wallets because unemployment is going up, the middle class figure will be lowered to 80,000, and your utility bills will skyrocket. I say you take the free money and save it up because your going to need it to make ends meet.

Lonnie

"put another leftist nut in position so he can kill businesses and raise unemployment."

Just like the last one did?

"Liberalism is full of hypocracy(sic)."

Whatever that is.

This is great! We don't have enough lawyers, or Kennedy's, in government. A twofer!!

OTOH, I guess we can forget about that wind project off Cape Cod now. RFK is also a big member of the NIMBY crowd.

Is this the pilot, the designated driver that killed somebody, the designated driver that hit the cement blocks and was apprehended by capital police, the guy that took the shortcut through the restaurant, the tree climbing rapist, or the guy that likes rides in convertibles? I have a hard time telling these drunks apart. They all look and sound the same.

101, I think this is the one that champions alternative energy and a big reduction in greenhouse gases, but doesn't want anything obstructing the ocean view from his 25,000-square-foot mansion in Martha's Vineyard, and goes everywhere by limousine.

So he's the same one that has brain cancer? Or are there 2 Kennedy's that are limo riding NIMBY's in regards to alternative energy on Martha's?

No, the one with brain cancer is the Senator from Massachusetts who was kicked out of Harvard for cheating and who isn't exactly a rescue swimmer. He's the one they call "The Lyin' Of The Senate". The dead pilot was a cast extra on Seinfeld who slept with Jerry's virgin girlfriend who crashed his plane with his new wife aboard, and I think the tree-climbing rapist is married to the governor of California. But I have trouble keeping them all straight too.

Easier to do what I do, and make it a math equation.

Kennedy = fat drunk playboy slob killing people in fancy cars and aircraft = liberal Democrat

Well ok, let's examine Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He frequently flies on private jets (Obviously he feels he's way too important than to fly on regularly scheduled airlines) and criticizes corporations for their carbon footprint. If he was Pinochio his nose would be about 50 ft long by now. He's a hypocrit that believes he's entitled to a larger footprint than everyone else. He wants you to lower your footprint so his can get bigger. If that's not a hypocrit then I don't know what one is. He's just another leftist that can talk to the talk but can't walk the walk.

Lonnie

RiR,
So which one is on the Today Show? God damn, it's like a Soap Opera!

The one on the Today Show is the one who got drunk and killed in a skiing accident a few years ago.

all right

another member of the family that made millions from breaking the law of the time and bootlegging across new england

and teddy boy and jfk cheating on his wife.,

yeah sure.,...lets keep the kennedy hand in government a little longer..........what nonsense

I know Bl2, he should pick a rethuglican that does not care about the environment.

He probably works with Gore's hedge fund as advisor
from the inside of beltway setting up carbon credits scam

Ah. The fallacy of the false choice. Are you suggesting there's nobody in the Dem party who cares about the environment, whose last name isn't Kennedy?

Try again libtard.

I never said that rightisevil. I just think he is supremely qualified and deserves the position. The only person I would like more for it is Gore.

Don't pawn Him off on us RIR. He isn't one of ours.

Larry

Larry do you ever stop crying?? what was it 3 years ago I insulted you? get over it Larry. Do you still cry about the kids who took your lunch money. Get a backbone or a job for that matter.

I'll believe global warming is a crisis when the people who say it is a crisis start acting like it.

I'm an environmentalist just not the collectivist anti-human kind.

^5's JSL1808. I agree with you 100%. This selection is the equivalent of pissing on my shoes and attempting to convince me it's raining.

Lonnie

I can't believe some of you people. We finally get the chance to rid ourselves of the Clintons, and you're dreaming up positions for Hillary???? Fuck her and Bubba, too. She's a crook, and he's a clown.

Good riddance forever!

No response LaRRy??

huh larry

An environmental limousine liberal nutcase..

great choice.. lose a few million more jobs to help out the economy..

Response from the "Right"? More idotic, meaningless character assassination than you can shake a stick at. Keep it coming, guys, you're doing yourselves proud!

Hey, here's a novel idea... suggest a better candidate for the job!

Actually I think he'd be a terrible idea. The guy refuses to discuss matters, he rules with an iron hand.

Obama thinks likewise!

Here's the names he has mentioned, Kennedy is NOT on the list!

Lisa P. Jackson, commissioner of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Mary Nichols, head of California Air Resources Board.

Kathleeen McGinty, former secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Lisa P. Jackson, commissioner of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Get used to it.

Everybody to the right of Stalin has been dealing with that for the last eight years.

Now the right can talk about coke headed chimp 2.0
