Democrats are expected to pick up three more Republican Senate seats -- North Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia and New Mexico -- according to projections by television networks. Kay Hagan has defeated incumbent Republican Sen. Elizabeth Dole in North Carolina, John Sununu lost to Democratic rival Jeanne Shaheen, Democrat Mark Warner is projected to capture Virginia's Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican Sen. John Warner, and Mark Udall has won in New Mexico.

"Is it time to start sliming the first affirmative action president and his sidekick the draft dodger yet?"

WTF are you talking about? Start?!? You've been sliming him for ages.

arugula for everybody

Dole conceded.

NC has a Democratic Senator for the first time in 35 years.

It's still tight for Pres but we might be a blue state soon.

I'm glad two of my favorite Republican Senators kept their seats -- Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma and Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama. Both are good guys

Dole conceded.

Liddy Dole deserved to lose. She called her Democrat opponent "godless" and really had some dirty campaign ads. She thought she was invincable and could never lose.

True Chris thank god she did. There is hope for NC yet. I still didn't vote for Hagan had to go with Cole since I don't much like Hagan and I really do not want Obama to have to large a majority in the Senate and House. Well at least Dole lost thats what I cared about. 13 Days in NC in the past year and she's my Senator? Screw that.

Pffft! That fuckers dead ---- what does he care!

I'm so blind I can't see these tiny little keys-

Attagirl Eddie, change your tampon.

Apparently the good guys will lack 60 votes in the senate. The bad guys thus will be able to filibuster away all attempts to reverse the bushy damage. And then in two years they'll hoist the do-nothing-congress banner. Or ... maybe ... we'll get that 60 in 2010. herm

I'm not really sure what criteria you're using to iodentify "good guys" and "bad guys," but you may be surprised with the new democrat senators. They are not your Chucky Schumer, Ted Kennedy, or John Kerry type of far leftists...if THEY are your ideal "good guys."

I thought the "bad guys" in the Senate had a 100 votes.

Or ... maybe ... we'll get that 60 in 2010. herm

Not likely - mid-presidential term elections traditionally go poorly for the party who holds the executive branch.

Apparently the good guys will lack 60 votes in the senate.

Thank goodness.

It will be two years of the minority party doing what it can to sabotage as much progress as it can, so it can then blame the majority party for not doing enough to repair the Bush damage. herm
