After voting in Wasilla, Alaska, Gov. Sarah Palin declined to answer a reporter's question about whether she voted for Senator Ted Stevens, the Republican recently convicted of corruption. "I don't have to tell anybody who I vote for," she said. "Nobody does. And that's really cool about America, also."

and again just like on the other thread

why does palin have to give up her right of secret ballot??

you wouldnt ask obama or biden to do the same......

but then ALSO as I said earlier

we are seeing the beginning of liberal fascism that IF obama wins will be such as we have never seen before

just dont even THINK about asking a quesiton like joe the plumber did without being assaulted and attaked as racists or worse........

MARK MY WORDS...............OOPS......
forgot I dont make predictions.............lol

She's right.

Besides, I have reason enough to dislike her without needing to know if she voted for a corrupt scumbag of a Senator or not. If she did, that's just the proverbial icing on the cake.

It's true that we don't need to discuss who we voted for.

That said, typically politicians will divulge who they voted for. For instance Bush had no problem saying he voted for Bush.

She owes nobody an answer as to who she voted for. Especially to some asshole holding a microphone or steno pad in his sweaty little hand.

Perhaps if the notion of the "secret ballot" were eliminated and voting records were made public, we could eradicate the closet racism that plagues our electoral system. It would also help explain why exit polls consistently show progressives as leading but not getting as many votes as expected. We could also finally get the bottom of the election fraud that the Right uses to steal elections.

What is it with Liberals and their disdain for the secret ballot anyways? What about privacy, are Liberals against privacy too?

Spud caught the Thrilla from Wassilla this AM after casting her vote fer herself and then not saying who she voted for.

She sed the secret ballot was one of the "Cool" things about America.

Spud winced.

But the Ice Princess was just warming up.

She went on to talk about how she single handedly "cleaned up" Alaska and was looking forward to doing so in DC.

** face-palm **

Aha, thought Spud, does that mean that she was the one who dragged Ted "Giftmeister" Stevens into court then? Wow, Spud musta missed that press release or sommat. Musta been kinda awkward, wot with her being the head of his PAC and all, up to and including the time he was being indicted./snark>

Be Well.

How about we dismantle the electoral college and have card check elections!

Sincerely

The Left

No, just republicans, they always want to know who you are talking to and what you do in the privacy of your own home.

Well did you vote for yourself????????????

Why won't she release her medical records? Who's baby is that?

I don't think Palin owes anybody an explanation of who she voted for, but it's interesting she has chosen not to support Stevens. He's one of her mentors and needs every vote he can get today to stay in office.

This makes me wonder if Stevens has any skeletons he could drag out of her closet, if he were motivated to do so.

"I got all mavericky and voted for the guy who did so much for my political career and got me all that money for the bridge to nowhere I supported before I didn't support it, also. You betcha he's crooked, but so am I, and like the Bible says, she who is without sin or a Nieman-Marcus account casts the first stone, and I'm holding mine in case I see the Russians."

also, people in america don't have to tell who they vote for, as well.

it's got to be all about secret ballots and the need for a maverick to lead alaska in the senate, that's what's good for america, so i am also for that it is.

"This makes me wonder if Stevens has any skeletons he could drag out of her closet, if he were motivated to do so."

I hope it's a juicy sex scandal!

"Mad McCain" videos:

She may have denounced the so-called bridge to nowhere (after it got dumped in the Senate; and McCain was against it), but whe still spent 25 mil on the gravel road to nowhere (leading to where the bridge would have been). This was, by the way, after the bridge project was nixed.

She doesn't have to tell anyone who she voted for, that's her right.

That said, it's pretty clear to me that she still supports Stevens. She has refused to talk about him since his conviction while her running mate called for Stevens to step down.

Stevens is a black eye for the Republicans at the national level. If Palin were no longer supporting him I see little reason for her to not come out and just say. If she's still supporting him then she's got a lot of reasons to keep it quiet.

She does not have to reveal who she voted for but by not saying who she did vote for I will assume she voted for the Republican convicted felon. Were I her and had I not voted for him I would have wanted people to know.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to come down with the right wingers on this one.

I dislike Palin fairly immensely, but she is entitled to a secret ballot. While most politicians don't take advantage of that right, blabbing their votes to anyone who'll listen, they aren't REQUIRED to, nor should they be.

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to come down with the right wingers on this one."

Rev, who are coming down with the righties against?

I don't see anyone trying to say Palin is required to, or even saying that she should say who she voted for.

What I do think she should do is publicly denounce Ted Stevens if she is not supporting him, just like John McCain did. That doesn't mean she can't still privately vote for him if she'd like.

I'd just like to know where Palin, the Maverick, the great champion against corruption, stands on the issue of a man convicted for felony corruption serving in the US Senate.

Oops...I apologize for my Palin rant. I overlooked the part where it says she did call for Stevens to resign. Good for her. I'm glad to see she did take a public stance on the issue.

Fair question, fair answer. She will soon be out from under the spotlight, good for her, better for us.

Only wacko crackpot radical fringe extremist Libertarians and Ron Paul still believe in that quaint god damned piece of paper.

Sincerely

Republicrats and Democans

Ron Paul still believe in that quaint god damned piece of paper.

Ron is still a Republican and didn't endorse the Libertarian candidate.
I think he mostly believes in getting money for nothing. And how long has he been in office?

"we are seeing the beginning of liberal fascism ... as we have never seen before."

Won't happen, BLT. No such thing as "liberal fascism". It's an oxymoron. (As you are?) Fascism is a Republican invention, and it will forever mirror the way Repubs want to rule. herm

I'm afraid I'm going to have to come down with the right wingers on this one.

I don't think it's a right/left issue. A vote is as personal as any thought, unshared. The knowledge of how someone votes must remain private, otherwise it will enable prejudice or worse.

Why should she? It is her business and not yours.

"Only wacko crackpot radical fringe extremist Libertarians and Ron Paul still believe in that quaint god damned piece of paper."

LOL!

Actually, I was wrong; it's less the constitution and more parliamentary procedure. For the electoral college to be dismantled, about a dozen states would have to voluntarily cede parts of their parliamentary power.

Ain't gonna happen.

"What about privacy, are Liberals against privacy too?"

Where in the constitution does it say you shall have the right to privacy? Are you "legislating" from your keyboard?

Only if the dems keep their fingers away from my 401k.

No long lines or long wait to vote in VA.

Voted around 9:45 a.m. EST. Took less than five minutes in the door and back out. The lines were divided (A - M, N - Z) and there was no one in my line other than my wife. The other line had no more than 20.

Only if the dems keep their fingers away from my 401k.

You still have a 401k after all this?

"I don't have to tell anybody who I vote for,"

Crooks of a feather flock together.

She voted for him.

You still have a 401k after all this?

It is more like a 25.2k.

Why won't she release her medical records? Who's baby is that?

Who cares? Come tomorrow she is going to be a sad footnote in the history of America.

Who the fuck does this Alaskan Bimbo think she is? If I had a nickel for every question she DIDN'T answer, I could resuscitate the economy all by myself.

Of course She did. All You need are two brain cells to rub together to come up with the answer.

Larry

Why should she? It is her business and not yours.

Exactly, cuz if we did find out she voted stevens, that would give us a nice insight to her character and yet more ammo for the tar and feather cannon.

If she voted against, she would risk enflaming her own supporters.

I don't blame her at all, this is clearly a minefield of a question. You would have to be a complete moron to have answered this question.

To have ignored these ramifications is having the partisan blinders on.

Plenty of threads and comments as to whether or not Palin voted for Stevens, whom last weekend she called on to resign.

And no posts or threads on the Inspector General's report, that exonerated her in the Troopergate firings.

I would posit she has already proven herself a complete moron.

I'll accept that she voted for Stephens...

but did she vote for Obama?

"Forever, I'm going to be Sarah from Alaska," Palin said......"

That's right Mukluk messiah. You'll soon be forgotten.

P.S. When are you going to donate your $150,000 wardrobe?

Is it time yet to feel sorry for Sarah Palin? I mean ... she's gonna plunge a long way in her fall to reality. Maybe she still sees herself as a potential leader of the free world, but she was simply used by the kingmakers in the most crude, cynical and desperate political ploy ever.

Is it time yet? Naaaaah. Maybe next week. herm

Sure, let Failin' Palin have her secret vote.

She attacked Obama for all of his votes made during his career but now she wants to keep her vote secret?

If she wants to play it that way, fine, it's her right, but I also have the right to assume that she not only voted for him, but that she approves of what he did.

Stay in Alaska Sarah, it will save you the airfare back when you lose.

"P.S. When are you going to donate your $150,000 wardrobe?"

Well, yeah. And while we're at it, no Great Alaska Shotgun Wedding?

The SNL/Tina Fey Palin was asked last night if she believed in marriage between people of the same gender. No, came the reply, only for unwilling teen-agers. herm

If she announced she voted for him, she would tarnish her anti-corruption image.

If she announced she voted for the Dem, well, she'd be admitting voting for a Dem. Ack!! Can't have that!

Also, if he wins and later decides to resign, why complicate her plan to take his seat in the Senate?

No point in burning bridges, even ones to nowhere...

Why won't she release her medical records? Who's baby is that?#12 | Posted by evashogouki at 2008-11-04 12:43 PM | Reply |

She did yesterday. Put down the Bad Religion fanzine.

It ain't over.

Stevens is about to win re-election.
Then when the Senate votes him out, there will have to be a run-off.

Guess who Stevens/GOP will probably nominate to replace him on the special election ballot?

Senator Bible Spice. Best prepare yourself.
It will be Katherine Harris on steroids, but without the push-up bras.
