Video of a June 21, 2005 Senate floor debate between Sen. George Voinovich (R-OH) and John McCain on legislation proposed by McCain to fight global warming has just surfaced. I'll post video within the next couple of hours, but for now, here's some text. Voinovich told McCain that his legislation would "put coal of out of business." McCain agreed that his legislation would "require sacrifice" acknowledging that critics said it would cost "thousands of jobs." Nonetheless, McCain (correctly) stood by his legislation, and even said that he wanted a tougher set of rules.

On one side of this debate, there are proposals to create a mandatory domestic program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as the amendment that will be proposed by Senator McCain, to my understanding, and I strongly urge my colleagues to vote against this amendment.

The McCain amendment will put coal out of business by forcing fuel switching to natural gas.

When asked, a lot of people (especially white people) will say that they voted for Obama but actually voted for McCain. Some whites, particularly southern, won't admit their closet racism. John Murtha was mocked for having the courage to admit that people in his Western PA district are racist. Expect Obama to trail by 5-7% below his exit poll numbers.

I think anyone can see where problems arise with exit polling you ask a small sample heavily waited with democrats because they are more willing to be polled upon exiting the voting site and then sit back and wonder why they are wrong. According to your logic we should not count the votes just ask a few people how they voted and go with that.

Exit polls are meaningless drivel the media hypes to get viewers/listeners. The only thing that matters is the final results and if the pundits are right that it's either gonna be 0bama or McCain it sure ain't gonna be good for my hypertension.

Exit polls are fairly reliable and not outside a error margin of + - 5%. But then since not thousands are taken in any given state they represent only a trend within a given timeslot.
