With just three days left until Election Day, a new CBS News poll finds that the Democratic presidential ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden leads its Republican counterpart by 13 points among likely voters, 54 percent to 41 percent. That margin reflects an increase of two points in the Obama-Biden ticket's lead from a CBS News/New York Times poll released Thursday.

...and so will late voters!

But...But... But... I want Sarah !!!

I want a Vice President who is so much of a fucking Dumb-ass that she isn't even smart enough to know she is being scammed by a couple of radio comedians from Montreal, Canada and talks to them for (7) Minutes while they make a complete jackass out of her !!

Obama knows little about the people around him. Like his "Aunti", Ayers, Wright, etc. But says he knows how to make America better.

It's a generation of bums. Only those too lazy to contribute and desire a handout will vote for him. Unfortunately, this is about 50% of America. No wonder we are sinking, there is no incentive for innovation.

Imagine the inflow of people once we have "free healthcare". Our tax rate will go to 50% or more to cure the world. Is that free?

Look for your lib discount card in the mail next week.

See you on Tuesday, looooooooser.

Early voter "Gee, I thought I was in line for food stamps!"

The idiots that slam obama are are the same people being fucked by republican policies. It is indeed akin to the battered wife syndrome.

If you rtards give the republicans half a chance, your entire country will need food stamps. Explain to us again how your country is better off since bush dry-humped it to the shitter? Explain to us how the u.s. is in a better position on the world stage? Explain to us how the bush approach helped to unify americans behind an ideology, a vision?

The only thing the republicans have succeeded in doing in the past 8 years is to make brother hate brother because of party affiliation.

I think the left-wing media has done a fine job of turning brother against brother. Bush got us through 9/11 without any attacks in the US by pushing through policies of surveilance and Homeland Security, supported by the majority of the nation, but repeatedly attacked by left-wing zealots pissed off they lost in 2000. We've had record tax revenues from the tax cuts yet now Obama wants to kill that and we'll all pay...

And we've had the bad side of Bush like record increases in spending, a major part due to all the increased regulatory agencies (though Oabama continues to lie and tell the nation we've de-reg'd eveything) and a huge expansion of government...

No, I'd say the media has done a fine job of misleading the public for years when things were good...

Better look around, sport. Most Obama voters are white, highly educated and have white collar jobs with excellent income. Typical McCain voters are high school educated, have lower income and would probably fit into the category you are talking about. All those great rallies with "real Americans" like "Joe the (tax deadbeat)Plumber show that very well!

We've had record tax revenues from the tax cuts

You are surely joking.

Bush got us through 9/11 without any attacks in the US by pushing through policies of surveilance and Homeland Security.....

#8 | Posted by smashmouth

You better check your calendar, smashi, 9/11 happened on Bush's watch.....nine months AFTER he was elected! All the signs were there months before the attack happened but were discounted by an administration that was too arrogant to think that anyone would mess with us, especially with a president from Texas.

The worst president in history! The record proves it and the press had nothing to do with it. He screwed himself and the country with help from Cheney, Rove and the other neocons, who by the way, will be living high on the hog with all the cash they have stolen from the American taxpayer.

"Bush got us through 9/11 without any attacks in the US..."

Smashmouth's language is remarkable, one might say

We've had record tax revenues from the tax cuts yet now Obama wants to kill that and we'll all pay...

#8 | Posted by smashmouth

I would really keep my smashmouth shut if I were you because by opening it you leave no doubt that you are a moron.

We are more than a trillion in the hole and that doesn't even count the money we owe russia and china for financing our expensive little occupation in Iraq. Who the hell do you think is going to have to pay for that. It's like having a credit card with a $75,000 balance. The interest alone is killing you.

***** We've had record tax revenues from the tax cuts

You are surely joking.

.......he is not joking......he is genuinely ignorant........

"".I think the left-wing media"""

Aren't you a little old for make believe? All the "left-wing media" has done is state the obvious: the republicans have fucked the country and left it bloodied on the side of the road and bush 2 only promises more of the same.

When a cic and his cronies call into question the patriotism of a citizen because he or she opposes his policies, you get division. When a cic's decisions are clouded by religious beliefs (GW "god told me to" attack iraq" bush) you get division. When a party is so void of virtue that is slimes opponents (swift-boating, palin's shit lines and innuendos, virulent attacks by right-wing freaks (coulter, o'reilley, etc.) questioning the love the left has for its country, you get division. When feeding peoples fears as opposed to giving them hope, you get division. When an administration doesn't govern with the country's interest at heart, you get division.

You guys need to throw the mother of all parties, get drunk and re-connect. The world would be a better place.

"Most Obama voters are white, highly educated and have white collar jobs with excellent income." #9 | Posted by geezer1

You no doubt consider yourself "highly educated" and have a "white collar job with excellent income". Feels good to toot your own horn, doesn't it. The left always pat their self on the back for the things they do. They also pat their self on the back while they take credit for the things that are successful even though they had no part in it. Obama is a perfect example. One does not accomplish anything by voting "present". The leftists in Hollywood and the media are always patting their selves on the back and believe the "real Americans" should also.

Has there been no other 9/11 event because Bush's "surveillance and Homeland security" efforts were so successful, or simply because the enemy has an episodic philosophy of warfare difficult for Americans to understand?

Now, this is a very good question. I remember a time not too far distant when raising it got your patriotism questioned.

Some are estimating 370 plus EV's on Tuesday for Obama. If that happens, it's because you Neo's chased away conservative as well as liberal people for asking such questions.

You're getting just the sort of reality you worked so hard for. Enjoy it.

KBM

See my post immediately above. "Real" Americans don't like Republicans any more.

...but you still have not disproved my premise....and yes I am educated and yes I have a good job that I work hard at and most of the people I know who are more or less in the same boat also favor Obama. McCain's policies would, in the short run, benefit me and others like me, but in the long run everyone is going to have to pay through the nose for follies like trying to "win" an occupation. BTW, I don't get the taxes controversy. Joe the Plumber is worried about a few hundred dollars in taxes per year when his retirement account has been cut in half over the last two months...and just think if we had followed McCain's wishes to privatise Social Security...

Yes, record tax revenues... reducing capital gains created incentives for more investments.

That's the joke about Obama's plan... he'll not only raise taxes on the 60% of Americans that provide all the tax revenues as an incentive to earn less BUT then repeal the tax cuts. AND he expects to take in more tax revenue...

Fat chance!

Listen I ain't that smart with regardings money situations but it seems to Me if You take in more money by lowering taxes You woudn't need to be borrrowing from China every whip stitch. I mean hell we should have been sitting pretty right now instead of being in this huge hole with no way out of it.

Larry

"Yes, record tax revenues."

No, NOT "record tax revenues."

"Record tax revenues" occurred in tax year 2000.

Anyone telling you any different would flunk freshman economics.

"raise taxes on the 60% of Americans that provide all the tax revenues"

*Sigh*

Yet another idiot who never heard of payroll taxes, utility taxes, gasoline taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, excise taxes....

Anyone telling me different happens to be IRS stats. When the 2003 Jobs and Growth Tax relief was signed by Bush, we had 3% per quarter GDP growth into 2006... a couple down quarters and then it spiked to 5% til the housing market hit. All that growth resulted in record tax revenues...

I suppose you also believe this administration had the worst record for deregulation like Obama spouts about... that's a lie too...

"All that growth resulted in record tax revenues..."

Not once you factor in inflation, something a freshman Econ student must learn to do before heading home for fall break.

Anyone telling you different is either uneducated or believes you are.

"I suppose you also believe this administration had the worst record for deregulation "

I do. I witnessed it.

And the proof, as they say, is in the pudding. Or, in this case, the bailout.

"The main reason is a big spike in corporate tax receipts, which have nearly tripled since 2003, as well as what appears to be a big increase in individual taxes on stock market profits and executive bonuses."

Let's see... how about a 2006 article in the Times...

www.nytimes.com

""The main reason is a big spike in corporate tax receipts"

BFD. All you've done is shown the raw numbers went up. They never equaled tax revenues for 2000, plus inflation. Raw numbers are worthless until you adjusting for inflation.

Let's do a little educating on regulation...
Weidenbaum Center at Washington University:

wc.wustl.edu

Regulators' Budget
After eight years in office, President Bush is on track to be one of the biggest regulatory budget spending presidents in history, according to a new study from the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and the Weidenbaum Center at Washington University in St. Louis. [more]

In constant dollars, the reg budget is up 58% over the 8 year Bush administration... more than each previous president from Clinton going back to Johnson...

The joke is Obama's got half the country fooled into thinking raising taxes on 5% will bring in more revenues... and then he's setting everyone up for more regs lying there wasn't any so he can put in a huge expansion of government...

Tax breaks for 95%... that's a crock...

What is fucking comical is that Republicans have made Joe (The Lying Tax Deadbeat) Plumber the heart of their campaign.

"Let's do a little educating on regulation..."

Yes, lets:

THE MULTI-TRILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT.

"Tax breaks for 95%... that's a crock..."

Especially when you didn't hear or understand exactly what he said.

Not once has John McAsshole refuted Barack Obama's claims that McCain will give big Oil Companies another $300 Billion Dollars in Tax Breaks after they have reported the most outrages corporate profits for the last (3) quarters ever recorded in the history of the planet earth.

And then the Motherfuckers give us Joe The Asshole Plumber and some bullshit line that Obama is trying to make you pay higher taxes and redistribute the wealth.

In an article by Alan Reynolds, a senior fellow with the Cato institues, he clarified that statement from Obama about the $200 billion to wealthiest corporations and $4 billion to oil came from a 2-page report from former policy directors for Edwards and Kerry.

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget noted that McCain has called for a repeal and reform of a number of tax preferences for oil companies that would raise taxes.

Bacially, those numbers are based on biased guesstimates and Reynolds proved them worng...

So Smashmouth, are you educated now? Do you realize you can't compare two disparate years without factoring the differences caused by inflation?

Here's your total tax receipt change from the previous year (including SS since incomes jumped in those years). By the way, the drop in 2001 is from the 2000 receipts, with data thanks to the CBO... so I'd say it outpaced inflation after we got the 2003 cuts in place...

Dollars are in millions and rounded...

$1,991,000 -2% 2001
1,853,000 -7% 2002
1,782,000 -4% 2003
1,880,000 5% 2004
2,153,000 15% 2005
2,407,000 12% 2006
2,568,000 7% 2007

Tax policy center
www.taxpolicycenter.org

Kind of scary when you think of it... gonna be tough to pay for all this no matter who gets in... basically we're screwed

Later...

" so I'd say it outpaced inflation after we got the 2003 cuts in place..."

But that's not the measuring stick.

Go here-

data.bls.gov

Put in the revenue numbers for 2000, then pick your year after that and compare.

Did the revenues equal or beat the 2000 number, once it's adjusted for inflation?

(BTW, I'll save you a little time. The answer is NO.)

"Poll: Early Voters Strongly Prefer Obama"

..As do women who've had abortions, men who've paid for abortions, the entire abortion industry, and other asundry men who have the blood of innocent children on their heads, like DrudgeRetort's own Herm.

Well, since the vast majority of Americans disagree with the Republican concept of no abortion, even in the case of rape or incest, one would expect no less.

the economy is in the toilet, yet tools like "kirk" can only whine about what truly is a woman's right.

Got out and voted early today in Broward County Florida. Took about three hours wait in line but an Obama victory will make it very worth it. I'd estimate 70% of the folks there were Obama supporters, I didn't see one single McCain T-shirt but many Obama shirts. Everyone was very patient and resigned to the wait, I think we all realize that it is a small price to pay to prevent four more years of Bush.

"..As do women who've had abortions, men who've paid for abortions, the entire abortion industry, and other asundry men who have the blood of innocent children on their heads, like DrudgeRetort's own Herm."

I might start worrying about that right after the fools on the right get the blood of Iraqi innocents, Vietnamese innocents, Nicaraguan innocents and various other innocents from around the world off of their hands.

Gonna be closer than anyone anticipated last week. But I still see Obama in the WH and Palin answering grad jury questions in January.

Obama preached that we are our sisters' and brothers' keeper. But he claims to know very little about his aunt whom he cited in his book. On Tuesday one is not sure how many people will desert him for that. As for the early voters, they were for Obama no matter what. McCain had to make up for this with absentee voters in the army: they favor him 3 to 1 over Obama. ( newsmax.com )

Also Obama's half brother lives in a shack in Kenya and makes $12 a year. Obama is not a good relative to his own family circles. Maybe he is aloof or he doesn't care so long as he can gain power and wealth for himself.

Obama plans to tax the coal plants out of business. The same thing was confirmed by Biden himself. Thousands of jobs will be lost.

Again, a miracle is still possible for McCain. The IBD poll has McCain down only by two points. Zogby surprisingly found McCain leading by one point last Friday (though not a trend); now Zogby has McCain within the margin of errors in trailing Obama.

Sunday and Monday, churches are making a concerted effort to pray for the Tuesday election. Polling shows Obama not making a significant dent on churchgoers --- they are suspicious of his abortion position. If 40 million evangelicals vote Tuesday as expected, and if they vote for McCain or against Obama in large numbers, one can still hope that an upset is within striking distance.

Raise your hopes, but do not jump to 'irrational exuberance' yet. The deal is still open.

"Sunday and Monday, churches are making a concerted effort to pray for the Tuesday election. "

You POS asshole... what makes you think God wants John McCain as president? Maybe He wants a real Christian, Barack Obama, as President.

www.timesonline.co.uk

And it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow.

When he was twelve years old, they found him in the temple in the City of Chicago, arguing the finer points of community organisation with the Prophet Jeremiah and the Elders. And the Elders were astonished at what they heard and said among themselves: "Verily, who is this Child that he opens our hearts and minds to the audacity of hope?"

Yeah a real Christian wouldn't go to a church with a preacher that says stuff like "God ___ America!" A real Christian wouldnt agree to make partial birth abortion or even just abortion legal. Areal Christian wouldnt allow gay marriage, its moraly wrong. If you dont believe me, ask Barack Obama, hes a Christian(LOL) so he must know the Bible pretty well. A real Christian would fight for this country to the point of being held in a war prison for five years! You do know that Obama IS a real man, whick makes him capable of NOT telling the truth. Christianity DOES NOT define Barack Obama.

Obama could have easily used the McCain tape where he called his audience "my fellow prisoners" but he has too much class for that (unlike McCain), this type of ad would have made McCain look old or Altzhiemers. Obama, being a class act, did not use it!

video of it:
www.youtube.com

McCain is not a maverick, he's the sleaze master!

Poll: Early Voters Strongly Prefer Obama..

Yes, Disney characters voted for him 4 to 1. It is also said the dead voters in Chicago are all voting Obama. Don't forget vote early, vote often.

To quote Jeff Dunhams character Walter, "dumbasses."

Obama, being a class act, did not use it!

My dog has more class than Obama. He is a Socialist that will turn this country into a third world hell hole and you f'in idiots will still be trying to blame Bush.

I hop you enjoy communism commrads.

Obama win=
Bush tax cuts expire....and Obama WILL NOT GIVE THE MIDDLE CLASS A TAX BREAK!

with the threat of drilling gone, oil will again rise. along with Obama's windfall profit tax against the evil oil companies gas will be at a all time high. can anyone say $5.00 per gallon by March

investers will continue to sell their stock so not to have to pay Obama's capital gains tax

Internet tax

global warming tax

he's going to cost the middle class approx. $5000 per year.

Maverick,

Give it up, trying to teach economics to these fools is like trying to teach a pig to sing.

You just waste your time and annoy the pigs.

"he's going to cost the middle class approx. $5000 per year."

Is Vernon selling calculators again?

If we taxed right wing lies we could pay down the National Debt pretty quick.

"If we taxed right wing lies"

I smell a surplus!

"If we taxed right wing lies".

DANFORTH, you are such a JERK OFF it's unbelievable!

We won't really know until it is over because...

Dems ground game focuses on early voting; remains to be seen if the Obama advantage will be similar on election day. Repubs ground game focuses on election day itself and has been quite effective in the past. Early voters don't necessarily represent new voters; may be more representative of seasoned voters who want to skip long lines on election day (ironic since early voting sites are far fewer and glitches have produced long lines for early voters in some states). So we won't know if new registered voters will actually turn out in significant numbers until after the votes are tabulated.

It will be interesting to see how exit polling is reported this year after the fiasco in 2004.

Danforth really got the right-wing straight ticket voters' panties all ruffled up this morning. Instead of making any coherent arguments or rebuttals, they scream about the end of days.

Enough of the correlation-causation BS. The reality is the military is over-stretched and misappropriated, the economy is in the shitter (tax revenues soon to follow), the courts and executive branch have been de-professionalized and stocked with cronies, corruption cases are springing up all over the place at every level of gov't, and the cost of nearly every major consumer good is on the rise in a major way.

In this environment, the idea that the incumbent party should win anything is in direct conflict with the way a two party system works. And no one is going to buy that dems having a slight majority in congress for 2 years effectively makes them responsible for the last 8 years. It just isn't going to happen.

On the plus side, maybe after a few years of well deserved dogshit sandwiches, the neo-conservative, big gov't, socially intrusive, morality regulating republicans will give the party back and we can have a constructive debate in this country again.
