These huge fucking oil companies need to be broken up to increase competition.

AMEN Brother AMEN. Fucking corporate greed run amock. Rotten little slimeballlllllls

Larry

Not to worry. I am sure Obama will nationalize them, and then Liberals will have no problem drilling everywhere.

I am sure Obama will nationalize them,

Well they would fit in with Bushie's nationalization of AIG and the banks.

Here is the problem with nationalization, as Chavez (bush's philosphical brother) has found out.

You cannot force the brilliant and the gifted to work under duress. You want to extract oil from the ground? You have to have the people that know how to do it. And they don't work at the point of a gun.

Shall I hold my breath waiting for some money to trickel down.........

Some engineer needs to study this and get back with a more exact figure, but it seems to me that for every minute, or ten minutes, or hour that every car in America spends idling at red lights, a penny goes into the Bush-Cheney coffers. The bastards have brought fuel down from $4-something to $2-something as we go into the election, but prices will soar again once the election is reality. herm

"spends idling at red lights"

Try red lights on highways 290 or 71 between Austin and Bastrop in the early morning hours; I usually start my day between 4 and 5 AM.

You turn a bunch of kinetic energy into heat, idle for 3 minutes while no one passes in front of you, and accelerate back up to an efficient speed.

If I go postal it will be at TXDOT.

Wait! Not quite yet ...

$14.83 Billion!

Wow!

Rather impressive when you consider they paid $11 billion in U.S. taxes.

Makes you wonder why they have not moved out of the U.S.

Yeah, lets tax them more so they will take their 50,000 U.S. jobs offshore.

Thanks for saving me the time.

"$14.83 Billion! Wow! Rather impressive when you consider they paid $11 billion in U.S. taxes."

Oh...so they actually made closer to $26 billion before taxes. Up $10 billion from last year.

Income before income taxes $26,157,000,000

And where does it claim those $11 billion in income taxes were paid to the US?

If it were not for big corparations you would all be walking.

Are you really that dense?

If it weren't for the little guy the BIG GUYS wouldn't have jack shit.

Larry

"Are you really that dense?"

Probably. But isn't Exxon a global company? Isn't this a statement for the entire company? On several lines, it states the numbers are listed in dollars, which suggests other currencies are also in play, meaning other countries where, I'd imagine, they also pay income taxes. Where does it say all income taxes were paid to the US?

If the little guy didn't have needs to be filled the BIG GUYS would still be little guys twiddling their thumbs wondering what to do.

Larry

Apparently, you really are that dense.

The taxes shown on U.S. a corporation earnings reports are taxes paid to the U.S.

"The taxes shown on U.S. a corporation earnings reports are taxes paid to the U.S."

Did they pay taxes to any foreign countries?

Oh Larry, You crack me up. I think the the exact oppisite is ture. If it werent for big corparations we would all be walking, starving stinky ass people. We wouldnt have automobiles, cooking appliances, washing machines and dryers etc. and everyone favorite unions most small companies are not unionized. Thank your local big corparation for all of these.

Larry I think the kool-aide my be getting to you.

Well larry you're almost right this time. They were little guys but they werent twiddling their thumbs they were figuring out a need and then filling it with their product or service.

Oh contrare. Let's take Your idea that if it weren't for these BIG CORPORATIONS we little guys would have nothing. If we little guys weren't buying these items these BIG CORPS were making they would have loads of stuff and have nothing in the bank. So You see if it weren't for the little guy the BIG GUYS would still be little guys twiddling their thumbs wondering what the fuck to do.

Larry

Larry you convinced you are right if it weren't for big corps you would'nt be able to sit around spouting off your anti-corporation bullshit all day you see they made your computer or at least the componets in it. Then you would have to be under the sheets with a flashlight writing in your diary every night but I think you would still be just as crazy.

DAMN BIG CORPORATIONS

Well larry you're almost right this time. They were little guys but they werent twiddling their thumbs they were figuring out a need and then filling it with their product or service.

See You reinforce My rebuttle. There must be a need and or want for a product or service before a little guy becomes a BIG CORPORATION to fill that need or want. If the little guy had no need and or want that little guy who started the BIG CORPORATION to fill that need and or want would be wasting their time for naught.

Larry

most small companies are not unionized. Thank your local big corparation for all of these.

That cracks me up. You are right tho'. If big companies hadn't put 6 y/os in the coal mines. If they hadn't made people work 14 hour days. If they hadn't just kicked workers who were injured or killed on the job to the curb. If they hadn't shot workers who dared go on strike, there never would have been Unions.

Larry are you suggesting they made products that were not wanted or needed then sat around hoping the "little guy" would some day want or need it.

Why do you always put yourself down by calling yourself a "little guy" I know your thoughts are pretty small minded but you should really stop putting yourself down.

Individualist unite vote Libertarian

No what I am saying is if there were no needs and or wants there would not be any products made nor services rendered. We would all be sitting around bare assed naked under a tree or in a cave dug out.

Larry

Larry just so you know i dont work for a large corp. I actually work for a very small art gallery with 3 employees I just dont think big corps are evil.

Anyway its been fun debating with you but there is someone calling me from the bedroom and i think that might be more fun so I think i'm going to go take care of that.

Everyone remember to vote your conscience. There is no such thing as a wasted vote.

Where will the price of oil be after Obama rapes the oil industry with tax increases? The oil giant paid 49% of its first-quarter gross income, in income taxes. HALF!

You are not going to get a Lib Discount!

This is easy; if you want to be apart of their success buy their stock!

"This is easy; if you want to be apart of their success buy their stock!"

Let Them Eat Stock!

Between now and Jan21, shredders everywhere will be working overtime.

"Shall I hold my breath waiting for some money to trickel down........." #6 | Posted by Kenoosh

Well, did you see Exon paid a record of 13 billion dollars in taxes? Now that won't trickle down because Congress will spend 110% of it. But you could vote for Obama and after he raises taxes on those making, what it is now...$120k....he keeps changing it, then you could maybe expect a $500 check. Worry not, if there is any excess he will be more than able to spend it.

Link please

Not to worry. I am sure Obama will nationalize them, and then Liberals will have no problem drilling everywhere.

There is a good idea, that would really help pay for health care! Why should we be beholden to such a small group of people who have a direct effect on our national security?

The oil barrens are bad for the economy, and you can't be a world power and have a good military and a bad economy. Ergo, they are bad for our national security. Therefore, oil companies should be nationalized to control profits, boost the economy and put money into the treasury.
