Massachusetts state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson, a Democrat, has been charged with taking $23,500 in bribes, including 10 $100 bills that she allegedly stuffed into her bra during a meeting at a tony Boston restaurant. The meeting was secretly videotaped by an undercover FBI agent.

Why is it that criminals seem to be drawn to political careers?

She really wanted $50000 but she only had a 'c' cup.

Sal,

Is it the loose morals that allow a person to promise everything to everyone just to get elected?

Is it all the cash waived around so freely?

Money needs to be removed completely from politics. No lobbying, no campaign fundraising, no more money at all.

Only then will we get people that truly represent us.

"Money needs to be removed completely from politics."

Look, honey...a flyin' pig!

I agree completely with what JimmahWB said, but i also think you get hit in the top of the head by pig shit before it will happen.

I agree completely with what JimmahWB said,

You agree? On what premise? How do you remove the money?

Who said money is the mother's milk of politics?

On the premise that unaccounted for money is the driving force and the inspiration for all corruption, and especially gov't corruption.

I didn't say I knew how to remove the money, I just said I agree that it needs to be removed from the equation.

"Money needs to be removed completely from politics"

Obama will put a stop to this!

By removing the "career" from it. Make it akin to jury duty, you serve for so long, get paid a stipend, then leave.

"By removing the "career" from it."

Unfortunately, that would put all the real control in the hands of those who CAN make a career from it.

Huh..Same state as Barney Frank, But because she is a dem, she will suffer the penalty of being re-elected overwhelmingly

Why is it that criminals seem to be drawn to political careers?
They like the hours and the holidays...

Throw the padded bra at her and send her to jail!

The woman has a great pair of gazongs. It would be a waste to keep her in prison during her "active" years. If the Democrats were not closet racists, they could have nominated her as their Vice-Presidential candidate.

Obviously, this is a racist attack since the lady is black, and vocal, dissing non-blacks, and thus drawing the ire of "the establishment." Why focus on her? Is this racial profiling, selecting her for investigation and prosecution from among so many other corrupt Democrat Party politicians? Racial profiling constitutes prosecutorial misconduct, so the charges should be dismissed.

Racism thrives in Massachusetts. If Obama is elected, he can grant this oppressed black lady and political activist an unconditional pardon. Possibly, he can give her a pre-emptive pardon and thus prevent the racially instigated harassment from continuing.

I thought politicians only padded their wallets. Now bras? I guess the Democrats really are into this "change" concept this year.

First Congressman "Refrigerator Willam" Jefferson together with members of his family, and now "Money Boobs Diana" Wilkerson - being persecuted for "being black."

It's becoming as risky as DWB (Driving while Black) to be a noteworthy black politician serving the black community. Why "they "even tried to question the integrity of Charley Rangel, career Congressman, who has done so much to advance the situation of black people (a minority), and poor people (who include a large number of the oppressed minority that is denied opportunity), and there were ominous intimations that Rep. Rangel would be threatened with prosecution for a slight omission in reporting income and assets. Shameful racism. Why they were treating him like Al Capone, the gangster, in trying to "get him" for a reporting omission.

This is horrible discrimination. Some politicians are just not as slick as others, who feather their nests without jeopardizing their well-being and freedom. You need to use other channels to secure benefits. For example, Sen. Obama got earmarks for his wife's employer, and miraculously the value of her services increased and her annual salary was almost tripled was it being increased from $121,910 to $316,962 a year for her valued services in keeping blacks folks from registering complaints regarding the facility. Now, that's legal, and doesn't even compromise securing a nomination for President. Yet the money, an additional almost $200,00 per year goes into the family pocketbook just as certainly as Ms Diana stuffed her money into her bra. Be slick.

"Why is it that criminals seem to be drawn to political careers?"

Possibly they are more than other careers but somehow I think corruption is a pretty common thing. Throughout my business life I have been aware of many crooks who committed quite a few different crimes and most were never caught. I've known purchasing people who demanded kickbacks from suppliers. Comptrollers who imbezzled (three different ones), etc. So, I just doubt that politicians are and better or worse, it just makes more noise when they get caught.

the only chance of shrinking these crimes are to take a portion of broadcast time back for public use. in a Democracy nothing less should be expected.

And the beat goes on... damned politicians. At least this story involved boobs.

"At least this story involved boobs."

As well as her tits.

If they realy want to do that, they should start with their own.

Unfortunately, that would put all the real control in the hands of those who CAN make a career from it.
