The Red Cross warns that despite improvements in security in Iraq, the condition of the country's infrastructure remains dire. The relief organization is particularly concerned about poor water supplies, estimating that over 40% of Iraq's civilian population still has no access to clean water.

WTH? Hasn't every raging right-winger screamed at how successful The Surge (TM) has become?

Next you'll tell me that Palin has "spread the wealth around" Alaska while accusing Obama of wanting to do the same thing!

Let Them Drink Sand!

Sincerely,

Bushco ChickenHawks

What's the problem?

Halliburton has some experience delivering substandard water in Iraq.

Just ask the troops.

and that's not all, oh no, that's not all

all the dust that clogs Iraq's air is contaminated with spent uranium.

Now c'mon guys-to be fair-at least we got rid of Saddam and his sons. They may be thirsty-but at least they're not being raped and tortured anymore!
Wait.......

Talk about stealing money, and the republicans could careless.

Amasing with the republican attitude how our country has been in such dire straights.

We gave them democracy.

Now they want clean water, too?

We didn't tell them that the cost for democracy would take their jobs, infrastructure, schools, water, electricity, and food.

I am sure other countries around the world won't ask for help after seeing this example.

How many trillions of our tax dollars have been poured into the sands of Iraq and the people don't even have clean water?! This is way beyond shameful. And how many of us heard about any kind of cholera outbreak this past summer? I don't remember hearing any news coverage of that. Shrub and Co have a lot to answer for. Hopefully at some point they will visit the Hague where they can be held to account.

MMMMMMMM...maybe they could use some of their surplus to build a couple of treatment plants?

I guess this has nothing to do with the fact that the insurgents try to destroy just about everything we build over there.

YEAH!

Except why would they when we have our Commander in Quiff who insists on throwing your money away for an unarticulated and indefinite duration!
It doesn't take much MMMMMMMMMMing to cipher up to that conclusion!

This means we have to give money to the Red Cross, whose executives will steal the money more than the Iraqi government does.

Oh I hate the Red Cross those back stabbing double crossers. I mean You give them money expecting it to go to the poor people and You wind up hearing the "Executives" get Millions of Dollars as bonuses and what not. My God I thought the Red Cross was there to help people not to rip people off. Rotten to the very core.

Iraq was a model for a secular Middle Eastern state before the invasion. Nothing good has come for the Iraqi people since 2003. They have been humiliated, tortured, starved, and executed by the occupying American forces. The educational system and health care systems of Iraq were superior to anything in the region prior to the war. Now, the Iraqi people can't even get enough water to survive.

The United States must pay billions in reparations to Iraq compensate for the illegal war in the coming decades.

Link.

How can we say the surge or whatever is working and then out the other side of our mouths say that we can't build a water teatment plant because the 'insurgents' blow it up.

I do btw agree that you can't build anything without them blowing it up.

BUTT! BUTT! The Surge! The Surge!

The same president who neglects infrastructure here in the US also presided over the destruction of the Iraqi infrastructure. The difference though is that in Iraq, through privatization, we paid to rebuild that infrastructure. Unfortunately, also through privatization, the infrastructure we paid for was either not built or build so poorly that it will not function. Meanwhile, the contractors we paid became very wealthy and some even moved to Dubai. If Obama is elected the ones that did not move offshore might wish they had. One of the most important CHANGES coming is that we will finally again have a functioning Justice Dept.
