Syria has been quiet and cooperating for years.
Why are we all of a sudden attacking them?

Does not sound that different from Obama's plan to attack Pakistan.

.....you mean the one that Bush is carrying out on a regular basis with Predator missiles and commando attacks ?........

What a coincidence. 9 days before the election.

Wot, you mean like THIS...

www.bloomberg.com

Oct. 27 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. drone strikes on Pakistani territory are undermining the government's efforts to isolate terrorists from the local population in tribal regions bordering Afghanistan, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said.

"Such acts are counterproductive and help terrorists to strengthen their position," Gilani told reporters late yesterday

The same day the US strikes Syria, allegedly killing 8 civilians, there is also a strike in Pakistan allegedly killing 20 "insurgents".

In point of fact, Obama's remarks on taking military action in the FATA region of Pakistan was predicated on the idea that believable, actionable intelligence regarding Bin Laden's hidey hole location was in US possesion and that the Pakistan government refused to take action or assist fer wotever reasons.

The remark spoke specifically to BushCo's deliberate insistance on leaving Bin Laden at large (despite all assurances to the contrary) in order to allow them to continue their fear and war mongering and endless occupation.

It spoke to Bush's EPIC FAILURE in that regard.

Bush deliberately allowed Bin Laden to escape at Tora Bora the same way he allowed the 9/11 terrorists to slam planes into the WTCs and the Pentagon.

Spud thinks the Pakistani President has a point when he sez these actions only make his job harder and the terrorist recruiters job easier.

That sed, leaving the AQ a safe haven in Pakistan that allows them to perpetually send troops over the border back into Afghanistan and into Iraq is not tolerable.

Wot do you think?

Or do ya?

Be Well.

"I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon. "

Bush ordered this attack without even calling Damascus. The dam drunk is out there bullieing his way around stiring up the hornets nest for Obama when he takes over.

The Rightie Tighties who fear and smear Obama need to look in their own backyard. Above the Law Bush is the closest thing to a dictator this country has ever known. Endless Unfinanced War, warrantless rendition and torture, in the face of an economy he went out of his way to wreck for friends and family.

In a "zero sum game" of derivatives gambling topped with undercapitalized fake insurance swaps there are operators who have stolen $10,000 from everyone. Its all legal but you must not know their names. They love and fund the likes of Gramm, Bush & McCain. Obama, too, is not immune from their influence.

This attack was purely for political purposes. Dubya wanted to put Obama on the spot, how can he react to this. If he criticizes it they will call him not tough enough but if he doesn't then he's a unilateralist just like Bush. I think he should just come right out and tell the truth and accuse Bush of using the war on terror to play politics.
Cynical bastards are criminals who belong in jail.

Just another act of state sponsored terrorism, courtesy of the single biggest terrorist entity on the planet.
Nothing but thugs and murderers.

Stir that pot ...bite off more than you can chew...out of the frying pan into the fire...what fools .

Spud thinks the Pakistani President has a point when he sez these actions only make his job harder and the terrorist recruiters job easier.

First of all, firing missiles by Predators on abandoned buildings isn't what Obama suggested.

He said he would like to come in, shoot up the place and go back out taking O'Binbin with him.

THAT is what he said.

And THAT is what they did in Syria.

Why? I have no idea. Perhaps looking for a fight... another crisis? (not that Syria can do much)

"Even in times of war SOMEONE makes a profit" Quark, Star Trek.

Like ACORN registering and busing in voters (to defeat Hillary), Syria has been allowing its militants to quietly cross Iraq to disturb the peace there.

Oh, and what the Pakistani Prez really wants to say is, "Please stop shooting missiles across the border. Every time you do that, public opinion demands I pull out the heavy stuff and shoot back. But if I do that, you will take away all the money I have stashed in your banks which I stole with my dead bitch of a wife."

LOL

"Like ACORN registering and busing in voters (to defeat Hillary), Syria has been allowing its militants to quietly cross Iraq to disturb the peace there."

And the timing so close to the election is just another one of them coincidences.

I am still waiting for the video of Osama to pop up and scare me into voting for McCain.

Careful, Zat got a dump for posting a bestiality link. Even mentioning such acts could result in a dump.

On topic:
You leftwingers are fucking crazy. Syria wasn't doing its' part to stem the flow of foriegn mutts in to Iraq. We sent a message. No manufactured crisis, no set up, no ulterior motives. Take your conspiracy theories and your Obama fantasies and jam them up your considerable asses.

You're the retard that thinks Obama voted against the war, right?

Syria wasn't doing its' part to stem the flow of foriegn mutts in to Iraq.

now home to more than a million Iraqi refugees

101

I fail to see how that in any way, shape, or form absolves anything.
They know where the mutts are and aren't doing anything about it. We knew, and we did. I have a hard time seeing how anyone could have a problem with it.

The Syrian Foreign Minister just did a live press conference on this.

Apparently 4 US Helicopter flew 10 kilometers into Syria and at a farmsite 2 helicopters landed while the other two circled and gave air support.

On the ground 8 unarmed Syrian civilians were killed.

Including a Man and his 3 kids there.

Another family including a wife and another child.

A man fishing on the river was straffed and killed.

The Syrian called it a terrorist act.

The acts of a coward.

If the details he gave were correct then that is not an unfair assessment.

George Bush is a terorist.

John McCain pals around with terrorists.

Do not want.

Meanwhile, the American news services replay the Jennifer Hudson tragedy endlessly while info about this incident barely makes it to the crawl level.

New day. Same old shit.

Serious need fer coffee now.

Be Well.

/On the morn of Spud's 4th anniversary in blogworld a new day also dawns fer Spud's southern neighbours and not a day too soon quite frankly.

According to our esteemed potatoe from the north, the government of Syria is more reliable than the US government. Your brain is forzen dude!

Looks like an act of terrorism to me. Bush puts obl to shame.

The Bush Administration is making a cheap attempt to effect the Election 8 days from now. These Fucks just don't understand that the American People are just not listening to them, SHUT UP just go away, get the fuck out of our WHITE HOUSE you are a bunch of WAR CRIMINALS.........

Here's a new article from the AP (sorry RCade)

news.yahoo.com

According to this article, all the people killed were adult males - that's according to AP reporters who saw bodies, as well as local Syrian gov't officials. Sorry, Spud, methinks the Syrian gov't spokesperson lied in his newspress! Additional information also shows the attack took place in "a theater of military operations where anti-Iraq terrorist activity takes place." While the attack into another country might not have been a bright idea, it's doubtful that US soldiers killed innocent children.

101, my point is that the US has burdened syria with an immense humanitarian problem. combine that with the hostility our nation and our ally Israel extends towards syria (granted it is appropriate that we conflict with syria), it is natural that they would act as a competitor in the region for power. now we are escalating the conflict in the region.

war is a pandora's box and this is a previously unforseen outcome of invading iraq, that syria would fight a low grade proxy war and that hostile elements would use their land as a base to attack iraq. however, escalation is dangerous and a poor alternative.

I wouldnt believe either sides news releases.

......and you must be the retard that thinks the Iraqi war was a good idea, was going to be paid for with Iraqi oil money, would be over in 6 weeks, the Iraqis attacked us in 9/11, had weapons of mass destruction, and the Iraqis would welcome us as liberators ??......are you that retard or his stupid brother ??......

Why not just admit that you are the retard that stated Obama voted against the war and move on?

There are no innocent civilians there.Syria can go to hell, lying liars .

.....you mean the one that Bush is carrying out on a regular basis with Predator missiles and commando attacks ?........

"They told stories that at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside."
