I grew up in the US and as such my sensibilities are such that I wouldn't touch someone under 18, even if it was legal where I was (say I moved to Kentucky or Africa). These molesters were the far exception to the rule for priestly behavior. They acted opposite to what they were taught. They deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law. Priests, preachers, pastors, or whatever are all human (imperfect). When the population gets big enough, you will start finding bad apples. If you disbanded every organization that had members who did something wrong in it, we wouldn't have any left.
