"Best Movie President: Harrison Ford"

I thought Kennedy's performance in Dealey Plaza was pretty realistic.

Where the heck is Frederic March as President Lyman in "Seven Days in May"? Absolutely the best president portrayal ever. Major oversight to leave him off the top of the list.

Anyonie here who has not seen that movie -- it is superb. Warning: No special effects or lasers, it's from 1964.

And what about Peter Sellers in "Dr. Strangelove". Nutso but still better than half the jokers on the list above.

"Dave" was a great movie

I thought Kennedy's performance in Dealey Plaza was pretty realistic.

Dude, that's brutal.

Skiing into a tree? Now that's funny.

Best Movie President?

Reagan, of course. He acted like a president for eight years--very convincing in the role.

Cheers

At least he "acted" (your words) like one, as opposed to Clinton who acted like a john in a whorehouse.

The best movie president was Kevin Kline in Dave. The best almost president was James Gregory, who played Sen. John Yerkes Iselin in Manchurian Candidate.

The absolute best is Terry Crews as President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho, porn star and five-time ultimate smackdown wrestling champion from "Idiocracy".

Best Movie President?

Reagan, of course. He acted like a president for eight years--very convincing in the role.

FF Fer Grendel.

Peter Sellers was a good pick.

Kevin Klein's Dave was better.

Best was "President Schwartenneggar" in the Simpson Movie.

"I was elected to lead not to read!"

Honorable mention to Jack Nicholson in Mars Attacks.

Decent premise.

Horrible film.

Great cast.

Josh Brolin's W and Anthony Hopkin's Nixon should make the list too.

Best teevee POTUS?

24's Dennis Haysburt

Talk about foreshadowing!

Be Well.

INDEPENDENCE DAY DIDN'T WIN?!

What do you know about CapConCom?

Are you sure you don't mean EComCon?

What about the guys from Grumpy Old Presidents or whatever it was.

And Cid-that john in the whorehouse won two wars and ran a surplus while Ronnie Reagan got chased out of Lebanon, ran then record deficits AND committed treason by arming the mad ayatollahs.

At best he should have gotten a Rassy for " Worst Performance by a B-actor pretending to be a patriot."

Henry Fonda as Abe Lincoln.

Best teevee POTUS?

Will Ferrell's George W. Bush. "I broke the Hoover Dam!"

Will Ferrell's George W. Bush. "I broke the Hoover Dam!"

Meh, Will's Dumbya was good but...

Spud's old school.

Dan Ackroyd as Carter in the "China Syndrome" parody called the "Pepsi Syndrome".

Where Carter gets irradiated and grows to be over 100 feet tall.

It was killer.

Reporter: "How big is the President?"

Rodney Dangerfield: "He could have an affair with the Lincoln tunnel"

** Rimshot **

A Classic.

Be Well.

/Well and truly gone now.

while Ronnie Reagan got chased out of Lebanon

Speaking of which, today marks the 25th anniversary of the death of all those Marines in Beirut.

Respect.

RIP.

Be Well.

Sorry - Michael Douglas in The American President is better than Harrison "Model T" Ford in Air Force One. Ford was already too damned old to be doing action flicks then, and he hasn't learned how to quit them yet. Douglas was very convincing, as was the White House setting in the film.

Probably, haven't seen it in a while. Loved it, though. Just like "The Best Man" with Fonda.

peter sellers in 'dr strangelove', as spud had mentioned, would be my pick. outstanding performance(s) and a truly great film.

regarding the above clinton/reagan remarks by grendel and eldicide90.
clinton screwed an intern and didn't act presidential.
reagan screwed the country and did act presidential.

america.... go figure.

all the best.

Bob Newhart as Manfred Link, First Family.

Now that's funny.

What about "Escape from New York"? Donald Pleasance going all medieval at the end was priceless.

I liked Richard Belzer in The Groove Tube.
"I'm the fucking president, man."

GET OFF MY PLANE

Morgan Freeman as President Thomas Beck in Deep Impact... even though the world is destroyed soon after that.

And Dave Chappelle in the parody of Deep Impact.

But the best would be Samuel L. Jackson's character from Pulp Fiction, Jules, as President.

Wait, are we only talking about American presidents? Because even though the movie itself didn't do so well, Sam Rockwell did a great job playing Zaphod Beeblebrox in the remake of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy a few years back.

So, uh, he's got my vote.

Graham Chapman was best as the Head of State

"... Deep Impact... even though the world is destroyed soon after that."

You really should have watched the movie to the end.

Groucho. Hail, hail Freedonia.

nappyheadedhoe is right...

Seven Days in May (1964) Frederic March ...And burt lancaster!

Wow. What a good god damn movie. No offense to harrison ford.

I agree with Tater O'Doom, President Palmer it is.

The president in Escape from LA scares me. He played uncle ben in spiderman too.

Guess those whole 2 years really cost Harrison, huh?

Douglas - b. 1944
Ford - b. 1942
