With all this talk of "real Americans" and the superiority of small town values, The Daily Show's Jason Jones went straight to the heart of these values -- Sarah Palin's hometown of Wasilla, Alaska.

Her "Executive Experience" is akin to, well, "executive experience" at a corporation where the CEO bilks shareholders and employees while enriching himself beyond "real American's" wildest dreams.

www.comedycentral.com

How dare you media elites criticize her dropping $150k on clothes!

John Edwards spent $400 on a haircut!

The trollop might differ with me on this---and all I gotta say on that score is, she better not---but I think Sarah looks kinda, well, enticingly trashy in those new duds. She's just getting her funk on, as my jailers used do say. Did I tell you, I was a POW?

More accurate.
More "Truthy"
Better coverage.
More funny.
Honesty-don't forget honesty.

Hell-I get better news from my left nut...;p.

Sarah Palin: VP in charge of the Senate!

in response to a third-grader's question, "What does the Vice President do?"

"[T]hey're in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom," she said.

Ok, so my proposal is, we take the Daily Show Staff, as one entity, and make THEM the next president.

I've been watching the show from day one and cannot help but believe they would do greater things for this country than any other 3 presidents combined. Smart, fair, honest and ethical.

As the guest said on this specific episode, watching The Daily Show is one of the most important things Americans do with their spare time.

The whole idea that small town people are somehow more moral than anyone else is assinine.

My favorite part:

When the secessionist says, "you're a jackass!"

My favorite part was the inteview with the Mayor..Staff meeting on Monday...sign checks on Thursday. Yeah, really tough and busy!!!

When Palin was Mayor they made her hire a City Manager or else she was going to be recalled!!!

Comedy Central, rcade?

When yer MSM exist to create public opinion or lead it around by the nose rather than to reflect public opinion you need some kind of a backup.

Back in feudal times the only one allowed to speak truth in the court of the King was not the attendent nobles but rather the ridiculous court jester.

In these neo-fuedal times, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, David Letterman and to a lesser extent Jay Leno et al are America's court jesters.

They speak uncomfortable truths embedded within jokes like the spoon fulla sugar that helps the medicine go down more palatably.

The Jason Jones piece on Wassilla AK was not only funny but informational as well.

We learned that the latest mayor of Wassilla has nothing to do with social services she just signs the checks and holds infrequent staff meetings.

Oh, and she considers that to be adequate training fer someone who wants to be a 72 yo heart beat away from the most powerful job on earth.

Tattooed dude explaining the superior morality of small town America then explaining how his tattoes boast of his cheating on his former wife was a larf.

The notion that small town America still has the iconic sody fountain shops and the like as oppposed to the same big box outlets you find everywhere was well done.

The interview with the guy from the Alaska Independence Party ie. the Secessionist America-haters who, until recently, numbered Todd Palin among them was a point well made as well.

As the guest said on this specific episode, watching The Daily Show is one of the most important things Americans do with their spare time.

~Revjack

Agreed.

People need to take a little time out from their pr0n surfing an such and get a little better informed on th eworld they live in.

The interview you refer to was a funny and scary interview.

The author explaining how the Military Industrial Complex that Ike warned of was now has grown and entrenched itself into so many other BigBiz concerns that it could be more properly percieved as a BigGov/BigBiz/BigMedia complex.

JS: "Are we still on the air?"

Spud lol'd.

"America's Way of War" looks like a good book wot Spud is gonna hafta pick up at some point.

Good eye.

Be Well.

My favorite part:

When the secessionist says, "you're a jackass!"

You need to listen to that part again.

Another day gone by with no action. I feel like a POW. And what is that smell?

-----Franks Left Nut------

Man. After seeing that, Palin looks like she was at the top of the local gene pool. No wonder her schtick worked.

The notion that small town America still has the iconic sody fountain shops and the like as oppposed to the same big box outlets you find everywhere was well done.

The small town (15,000 people) that I live in does have an old pharmacy with a soda fountain. The pharmacist is retired but the lunch counter with the soda fountain is still open. Awesome shakes as well as cool old pharmacy history like old bottles, etc.

There are some big box stores (1 walmart, and 1 kmart) as well as some mom and pop stores (local hardware).

And obams' executive experience is? He doesn't even run his own house.

Its going to take alot more than 150K in new duds
to spruce the current Wasilla mayor up.

The notion that small town America still has the iconic sody fountain shops and the like as oppposed to the same big box outlets you find everywhere was well done.

Sorry spud,

I gotta call bullshit on this one. When was the last time your canadian ass was in the U.S.? And in an area like a small town no less? The mere statement you made shows how out of touch you are with true american culture, as is most liberals...

The mere statement you made shows how out of touch you are with true american culture, as is most liberals...

~Boza the Clown

Did you watch the vid?

Do you watch the Daily Show?

No?

Now who's out of touch with American culture?

Fer yer info most Rtards that Spud is speak to are out of touch with reality itself, much less American culture.

Be Well.

/No capitalization fer "American" in yer post?
//Wotsa matter, are you an America-hater like Todd Palin?

We learned that the latest mayor of Wassilla has nothing to do with social services she just signs the checks and holds infrequent staff meetings.

Goot potato eye agin Spud.

So it seems that a Mayor a small is not even remotely like a community organizer after all.

And that the job of a community organizer actually is WAY more complex.

It is so amazing to me how the Rethugs can twist the truth to fool everyone to not look behind the curtain.

And when we do manage a peek behind the curtain we cannot believe how brazen the LIES really are.

Spud,

Cmon,

It seemed to me that you were saying there were no more soda shops, only walmarts and such..maybe I miss read....

Oh yea...

America...:)

Oh yea Spud,

The wife just microwaved a tater instead of baking it. I personally think this goes against nature, but I dont think she cared...

Watching that clip reminds me of a quote from Robert Frost.

Although he was speaking of poetry, the quote does fit, " A poem should begin in delight and end in wisdom."

Goot potato eye agin Spud.

~Donnerboy.

Ta fer them kind words and shrewed analysis and Guten tag to you!

/"Eye got a million of 'em"

The wife just microwaved a tater instead of baking it. I personally think this goes against nature, but I dont think she cared...

~Boaz

A microwaved potato is a crime against nature.

Baked is best!

Garlic smashed potatoes is also wicked cool!

"A poem should begin in delight and end in wisdom."

~SLBronkowitz

Ta fer that luffly Frost quote, sirrah!

Spud hadn't heard that one yet.

Spud can already hear it taking it's rightful place in the good meme collection in me spuddish noggin.

Be Well.

/Outtie fer a bit, you kids play nice, exiting the Exciting Drudge Retort like a really baked potato do,
stage left.

"So it seems that a Mayor a small is not even remotely like a community organizer after all."

ack! that should have been:

So it seems that a Mayor of a small town is not even remotely like a community organizer after all.

stupid puter! Do what I mean not what I say!

When was the last time your canadian ass was in the U.S.? And in an area like a small town no less?

I know you just would love to kill the messenger because you hate what he is saying but...

Have they destroyed all the small towns in Canada?

And would they really be that much different from our own?

Thirdly Spud is right in that small town America is slowly disappearing or being taken over by target walmart and burger king, etc.

I am from small town America and I CAN say it is happening.

It is called the big box swindle. There is a shit load out there on it.

books.google.com

Google Susanville, Ca and read what has happend there. The town had it's own special on cable recently.

It is a deep sadness.

Don'tcha think if you were some small-town mayor who don't do shit, you would at least have made up a good cover story?

What's really funny is, it was Mayor Palin herself, you betcha, who brought a lot of those bigboxes to Wasilla, much to the chagrin of her constituents.

If Republicans so love our small town values, why do they keep pushing the destruction of said small towns with their support of corporate farming, big box monopoly and the suppression of our civil liberties?

HOW IS THAT AMERICAN, YOU RIGHTY TWITS?

John Edwards spent $400 on a haircut! John Edwards was already a millionaire.. it was his money to spend.

John Edwards spent $400 on a haircut!

So wot? McCain spent 5,000 dollars on makeup before one of his debates.

/In John's defense, the type of make-up that morticians use is waaaay more costly than the regular kind.

"iconic sody(sic) fountain shops"

~Zat

That's not sic that's funny!

Jason Jones used that pronounciation in the piece in question.

Spud's usage was a nod in that direction.

Nau's Enfield Drug

Do they make a nice sasparilla soda?

Spud aint driving all the way to Austin if they aint got Sasparilla.

/Actually Spud has no idea wot sasparilla is.
//Just thinks it's fun to say out loud.

Thirdly Spud is right in that small town America is slowly disappearing or being taken over by target walmart and burger king, etc

~Donnerboy

Better tell Boaz that Spud was right.

Spud luffs being in the right
/...and on the left.

If Republicans so love our small town values, why do they keep pushing the destruction of said small towns with their support of corporate farming, big box monopoly and the suppression of our civil liberties?

HOW IS THAT AMERICAN, YOU RIGHTY TWITS?

~RevJack

Spud's just killing time till TDS comes on.

Anybody on the east coast seen it yet?

Was it good?

Be Well.

TDS has been pretty hit-or-miss recently but this clip was hilarious.

and here he goes again

a really funny guy belittleing and insulting americans just because they arent from NEW YAWWK or LA..............he is too clever........or at least his writers are.........to be just a smuck like this

but he HAD to demean these people because they are the risk of an obama marxist administration..........and he is doing his part

Isn't it nice that we put stock in what a comedy show does.

Isn't it nice that we put stock in what a comedy show does.

~Snippy

Actually, it's kinda sad that Americans get unvarnished truth from their comedians and corporately filtered truths from their so-called news agencies and pure propaganda from Faux NooZ.

CNN has recently announced the addition of DH Hughley to their lineup blending the line between comedy adn news even further.

Didn't FOCKS sNOOZ have an unsuccessful attempt at a comedy news segment as well?

Meh, Spud always found the unintentional comedy stylings of asswipes like O'LIEly and Hugh Blewit to be much much funnier.

Be Well.
