Rogers Cadenhead: I made the two-hour trek to Orlando yesterday to attend my first Barack Obama campaign rally, an event that brought 40,000 to 60,000 people to a plaza outside Amway Arena. Despite the size of the crowd and the zeal of some attendees to get a better spot, I can't recall a large event I've attended where people were in a better mood.

They were all happy and gay?

Surprised it took this long to have Barack in Orlando. After all, if you're going to create a fantasy world for tens of thousands of kids who never grew up, may as well be in Amway Arena, in the shadow of Cinderella's Castle.

Be sure to check out the Dumbo ride. It's fun.

It does look good, R. but PLEASE don't get over-confident. herm

I'm trying, Herm. But it's tough.

Woodstock? I thought all drug rallies were "good mood" events?

"I can't recall a large event I've attended where people were in a better mood"

Come on, you mean you never attended a Michael Jackson concert? Don't link crowd size as a gauge for being president.

awesome!

I am glad the turnout for voting is expected to be massive this time. Though I am worried as to what can happen. I already hear that some states may be overwhelmed by the turnout.

It is the most important election that I have ever voted in my entire life (and I am an old fart).

But, remember that Nov 4th is not the end it is just he beginning of our fight to take back our government from the liars and crooks.

There will be a day after and the Republicans should be ashamed at how they have divided this nation.

I mean think about it. When Obama becomes President how many folks will be angry and refuse to support a "terrorist" in the White House? And won't they then be morally obligated to do somethign about that?

This is insanity!

It is no wonder our economy is sputtering like an engine that has no distributor and is out of control.

It is too bad that the Republicans put party above country to try and hold onto power and can't see into the future what the results of their hate speech will be.

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."

Here is a link to the after rally, first time ever Obama + Clinton interview, done for Nightline.

They were in a good mood, too.

DONNERBOY: because you're an old fart I will let you in on a secret. The top of the pyramid in the country is neither democrat nor republican. It is one party governed by money. They are the top block in the pyramid. Political parties are created below them to keep the people fighting among themselves while they rob us blind. It's a trick used since the beginning of time. Devide and conquer.

"DONNERBOY: because you're an old fart I will let you in on a secret."

SILLYBULL is a know nothing.
Any reasonable person who looks at the national debt today can clearly see that both parties are not the same. Virtually the entire debt has been left by Republican presidents beginning with Reagan.
The Republicans try to now pretend that both parties are the same to deflect the blame disaster which we are now beginning to recognize.

"They were in a good mood, too."

How sad that it is actually surprising and noteworthy that a bunch of liberals were in a good mood.

DANNI: I truley feel bad for you and your ignorance. This is not a Democratatic or Republican problem. Look around, this is a world problem. The bailouts all over the world were created for the top of the pyramid. What do you think "one world economy" realy means?

Thanks for the link, Corky. Who would've thought that in Florida, of all places, Obama and Clinton would be working this closely together in the fall campaign? Nobody will be able to say that Clinton didn't do her part to get him elected. The cynicism I had about her after the primaries was misplaced.

SillyBull: Yes, it is a world problem and blame crosses both sides of the aisle -- to a point. That said, first things first. Repubs must be held accountable and voted out. The Republican party is mostly to blame for the overall state of the nation, domestically and internationally. 8 years in the presidency, 6 years with house and congress.
Anyone who refutes the GOP bears the brunt of the burden is a sick and feeble pollywog who gets excited watching a dim wit in glasses spout second grade talking points and loving her because "she's just like me!". Idiots responding to an opportunistic idiot.

The repubs were given the reins to this buggy, and they turned it over into a ditch. Now it's time they make good on being the party of responsibility and accountability. Between the whining and the stomping and the befuddled looks of -- "I thought this was "our" America. Wrong-o Boy-o.

The Republicans try to now pretend that both parties are the same to deflect the blame disaster which we are now beginning to recognize.

Danni,

with the exception of the real hard-core crazies like takeitez and FWThom, there are no republicans voting for McCain left on the DR, at least none that will admit it. The word is now that all parties are the same, that Bob Barr and Ron Paul are the saviours and all are "indipendents". Typical bunch of wienies that will be left holding the bag when the country moves on. Unfortunately, like Joe the phoney and deadbeat plumber, they are the most likely beneficial recipients of what will be Onbama's economic revival.

sillybull- I may be an old fart but I am not stupid.

They are both politicians and they have to promise all kinds of crap to get elected.

I actually believe very little of what either candidate says anymore but both are Americans.

But, when one side uses hate speech and hot button topics to the way they have raise the emotional level of the "lizard brains" (or should I say "Moose Brains") in this country to the level of frothing and spitting at the other candidate there is something terribly wrong with this.

I have never seen anything quite like it in all my years. The Republicans need to be held accountable for this and All the things they have done to this country the last 8 years in the name of POWER. These folks are not educating the electorate they are confusing the electorate and trying to instill FEAR.

The lies that have been spewed by Bush and now the McCain Campaign have damaged this country. It ought to be against the law. The lying must stop.

The Republicans must be stopped.

-Thanks for the link, Corky..... The cynicism I had about her after the primaries was misplaced.

Your velcome. As Bubba likes to say, she has done more for the candidate who won than all the other runner-ups combined.

You think maybe she'll get Ms. Congeniality?

Naw!

DANNI & GEEZER You are serfs under King Bush and will continue to be serfs under King Obama

"lizard brains" (or should I say "Moose Brains") in this country to the level of frothing and spitting at the other candidate there is something terribly wrong with this.

And I heard an Obama speech this morning complaining about the republican's negative remarks and in the next breath he went on a rant of how bad his opponent was. Just like your comments above, I guess negativity is only in the ear of the opposite party. Remember divide and conquer.

Silly Bull
You SURE live up to your name don't you?

I agree completely, except I would say the Neo-cons need to be stopped.

"except I would say the Neo-cons need to be stopped"

Unfortunately, neocons are the only ones left. All the sensible ones, and all the true conservatives, have been abandoned in favor of the religious right, the super wealthy, and the blithering idiots who still believe 'deficits don't matter'.

Sillybull not that silly. The root of our problems began in the 70's and was compounded more in the 90's. Follow the money trail along with corporate America's changing policies.

Sweet! Takes Scary Failin's assinine "Drill, baby Drill" meme and turns it on it's head.

Hill's a class act and about a thousand time smarter than Scary Failin but even still Spud is give her Kudos fer that effort.

There were a nice bit of reportage, Rogers, although the picture of an unshaven blog-god standing on a grassy knoll was somewot unflattering even in all it's fuzziness.

Despite all the negativity, mistatements, and outright lies from the right this electoral season, along with the attendant racism from their flunkees on right wing radio, the mood on the left is good. Is palpable. Spud can taste it on the wind even up here in the Great white North.

It is well.

G08ama.

Be Well.

good potato eye Spud!

Yes, it is all aboot the jobs!

I think it is utter BULLSHIT to give $700 billion dollars to the banks.

I will NOT vote for my Congressman (who is up for re-election this year too) because he supported this asinine Bailout or corporate welfare check to the banks. And I told him so.

The problem with the housing market is that there are not enough jobs to support it. If you don't have a J. O. B. you cannot buy a H. O. U. S. E.

Sillybull- When you were in your mothers womb and you heard music what did you think about your mom being a pole dancer at a strip club?

See how that works?

Idiot.

Latest Rasmussen Battleground States polling:

CO:Obama +5 Last week: Obama +7
FL:McCain +1 Last week: Obama +5
MO:Obama +5 Last week: Obama +3
NC:Obama +3 Last Week: Tied
OH:McCain +2 Last week: Obama +2
VA:Obama +10 Last week: Obama +3

At first glance it looks like a mixed bag with things trending toward McCain in CO,FL and OH; things trending toward Obama in MO,NC and VA.

But, take a closer look and you will see that this is not good news at all for McCain. He needs EVERY SINGLE ONE of these battleground states to even have a chance at an electoral college victory.

Obama, on the other hand, would only need to carry Virginia. That state is trending strong toward him as Obama is flooding the state with advertising and lots of local offices.

I would love for Obama to win this thing without needing OH and FL. That is where the Republicans will be given the best opportunity to steal another election.

IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY RABIT EARS ARE OUT THERE.

It's like selling pipe cleaners to dreamers.

They must have known that Obama would be up 6.9 on the RCP average-slightly higher than when Jayzuuz told saint sarah the polls were turning.

Real-if Obama wins the states he's holding or are leaning to him in the RCP average, he doesn't need any toss up states.

ROGERS

I went to an event during the primaries with only 25,000. Got the same feeling.

C-SPAN ran that event last night. Looked like a great time. Hillary Clinton gave what appeared through the TV as a very effective endorsement. There IS a lot at stake this election. Maybe more than at any point in the last 50 years.

ABC News did a joint interview backstage. You can find it on their website - ABCNEWS.com

The liberals get this excited about Obama because they are Godless. These Dem libs actually think Obama is bigger than Jesus! As a Christian conservative I would not complain waiting in long lines to hear Christ if such an opportunity would ever present itself. The libs feel the same way about their savior Obama.

I've been to Obama's acceptance speech and debate watches on TV with about a hundred people present. They've been great experiences. So has being a poll greeter and am looking forward to phonebanking too. It's Texas so we don't expect to win but it will be great to make it a lot closer than last time and I know we can do that.

"IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY RABIT EARS ARE OUT THERE."

you mean rabid or rabbit? I think you subconsciously mean rabid...

Sillybutt you just don't get it. It is a moral imperative that we get this Radical Regime OUT of the WH (and maybe even INTO jail).

There is no other party strong enough to do this.

It is up to the Democrats this year whether we like it or not.

We are actually quite fortunate that Obama, even with all his "faults", has come along at this point in our history when we need him the most.

He "could" be one of the most important Presidents in American History.

He really could be the ONE.

It is time for that change... I just hope we last long enough to see it happen.

These Dem libs actually think Obama is bigger than Jesus!

Do you really believe that? I mean, seriously.

These Dem libs actually think Obama is bigger than Jesus! As a Christian conservative I would not complain waiting in long lines to hear Christ if such an opportunity would ever present itself. The libs feel the same way about their savior Obama.

You think that way because you have been BRAINWASHED very effectively. You see the world through your Religulous colored glasses.

Obama is not the Messiah. There is no Messiah that is just a MYTH to make you sleep better at night. And so sorry this is NOT the rapture. You are still going to have to pay your credit cards. YOU are not getting a bailout the BANKS are.

This is Earth and you are on it. Wake up and realize that no one from OUTSIDE is coming to save us from ourselves.

It is up to us and Obama is a transformational Leader and he could be the one to LEAD us back to sanity.

Yes, I sincerely believe that. Look at all of Obama's posters and stickers, he's always looking up into the heavens like some messiah. The Obama campaign is well aware of their Godless supporters who look to Obama as something they can believe in and lift them spiritually in place of Christ.

NG3,

It depends what states you consider Obama to be holding. If he keeps the Kerry states he starts with a base of 252 EV's. Obama has to flip 18 red EV's to blue. Most pollsters have acknowledged that Iowa and New Mexico will turn blue. That's 12 and it gets Obama to 264. If he wins Virginia that puts him at 277....without Florida, Ohio, Missouri, Nevada, Colorado, North Carolina. And, he could even afford to lose NH and he'd still be at 273!

I don't want to get down to election night and depend on FL and OH. I believe those are two states that Republican's put all of their election stealing resources into!

Yes, I sincerely believe that.

Scientific statements must be "falsifiable." That is, there must be some outcome that at least in principle could show that the statement is false.

Show some evidence that Jesus is a myth or STFU.

"Well, what can I say? I'm not a believer myself but feel no need to mock anybody's faith."

Yet they have no qualms in mocking you. Time to take the gloves off Blue. Time to take "religion" off it's pedestal and hold it accountable.

Religion is part of the problem not the solution.

how some evidence that Jesus is a myth or STFU.

#45 | Posted by ELCIDCE90 at 2008-10-21 05:49 PM

How about show us some evidence that Jesus is NOT a myth or STFU.

Look at all of Obama's posters and stickers, he's always looking up into the heavens like some messiah

My God, how old are you? Marketing 101...you generally want the candidate for whom you are responsible to be looking up or straight ahead with either a smile or a look of determination. It's marketing, dude!

Geez, take a break from talk radio. Get out into the sunshine and breathe some fresh air!

The Republicans have a reasonable chance in Ohio and a not so good one in Florida but there's no way they can rig it.

The difference between Florida now and then is no Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris and more oversight. The difference between Ohio now and then is no Ken Blackwell to implement the purging of the rolls, no Diebold chairman stating an avowed intent to help Bush win and a Democratic Secretary of State with a 9-0 SCOTUS decision about vote counting in her and America's favor.

In all but very weird scenarios Obama doesn't need them anyway but the bigger the defeat for Bush/Rove politics the better for America.

How about show us some evidence that Jesus is NOT a myth or STFU.

I do not claim to use "science" to prove or disprove the existence of God or Jesus Don. I work on faith. ZAT is a scientist constantly criticizing people who have different beliefs than him. ZAT worships science - I challenge him to use the scientific method to prove his statement "Jesus is a myth".

"I challenge him to use the scientific method to prove his statement "Jesus is a myth"."

It doesn't work that way, as no one can prove a negative. It's up to the claimant to offer proof.

"I do not claim to use "science" to prove or disprove the existence of God or Jesus Don. I work on faith. "

Okay...so you don't have any proof. Come back when you do. Otherwise, "Jesus is a myth" MUST BE the finding of science.

In all but very weird scenarios Obama doesn't need them anyway but the bigger the defeat for Bush/Rove politics the better for America.

Absolutely agree, Blue! I just try and look at things as conservatively as possible when looking at the polls. Obama has a lot of options. McCain's are dwindling by the day!

Time to take the gloves off, Blue.

#46 | Posted by donnerboy

I've been back and forth on that. I just prefer not to do it. I have NO problem attacking the Johnsons et al for being the assholes that they are.

"I work on faith."

ahh yes the magic of "faith". I believe because, well I DO!

How very clever of you. It is also a cop out.

You are just another lazy bastard using Religon as a crutch! (see how I took the gloves off there Blue?)

I bust my ass in school to understand the nature of the Universe and you lazy bastards come along a try and tell me YOUR perspective is correct because you have faith that it is?

Well, it is time to call BULLSHIT on that. And then some of you even have the nerve to say you are experts on this and try to undermine the very foundations of science in order to confuse the masses into being lazy brains just like you!

The Sun used to rise in the East because we had "faith" that it was so and this was supported fervently by the Church. Then one day someone figured out that it was the Earth that was circling the Sun and NOT the other way around and BAM!

Suddenly our perspective on the entire Universe was changed.

You either have learned NOTHING from that story or yo have no idea what I am talking about.

I may be a bit harsh about this but I am fed up with the Bullshit being pushed on us by the Religious Right.

It is about time that they were held accountable.

Obama has a lot of options. McCain's are dwindling by the day!

#52 | Posted by realpatriot

Agreed. I'll zip over to 538.com and try and come up with some plausible way that McCain could win given how things stand at this very moment.

Here is the typical messiah Obama sticker pic looking into the heavens:

farm3.static.flickr.com

And yes Obama supports tend to be Godless, look at posts #38 & #40 as typical liberal Democrat's negative attitude towards Christianity. Obama's rallies are large because he is their version of Christ. Just listen to what liberals say. He is going to end wars, turn the economy around, provide healthcare to every American, provide millions of jobs, save the environment. All this from a guy who has only been a U.S. Senator since 2005 and before that was a lowly state Senator who ran UNOPPOSED twice. His campaign tactics from this false Christian runs as dirty low politcs as even liberal CNN reported:

It doesn't work that way, as no one can prove a negative. It's up to the claimant to offer proof.

exactly!

Extraordinary claims require EXTRAORDINARY PROOFS.

And yes Obama supports tend to be Godless

any links to back that outrageous claim up or is it just more of your Moose Shit?

It doesn't work that way, as no one can prove a negative.

How is "Jesus is a myth" a negative? He made the statement and I called him on it - what the hell.

I bust my ass in school to understand the nature of the Universe and you lazy bastards come along a try and tell me YOUR perspective is correct because you have faith that it is?

And so you bust your ass and try to tell me YOUR perspective is correct because you cannot prove I am wrong with science? My proof is that you exist and have a soul. That you are a living being with free will able to make choices that go against instinct. Don't like it - fine. Calling people idiots or the like because they believe it - pretty intolerant - you are supposed to be the tolerant ones (libs) are you not? Oh yeah, unless it's a position you disagree with, then your opposition is intolerant/racist/stupid (fill in lib insult here).

The Sun used to rise in the East because we had "faith". As ZAT will attest - you cannot even say that the sun will always rise in the East because of science.

You want to hold me accountable for my belief? Fine. Science and faith work hand in hand not against one another. You read the bible like it was written in 2008 and you misunderstand the translation - you need read it like it was written in the first century -

I'll zip over to 538.com and try and come up with some plausible way that McCain could win given how things stand at this very moment.

One of the networks reported that McCain was giving up in Colorado and New Mexico and he was going to concentrate on keeping every red state red and try to flip PA. If that is his best hope he can pack it in right now.

That's like saying your favorite football team will win if they can just make this 98-yard field goal. But, I think it is quickly coming to that point of desparation for the Party of Hate!

I'll zip over to 538.com and try and come up with some plausible way that McCain could win given how things stand at this very moment.

#55 | Posted by BlueInBushland

There is no plausible way McCain can win. He needs a miracle. Obama has 302 electoral votes virtually locked up. These do NOT include Missouri, N. Carolina, Ohio, Florida, New Hampshire, Nevada all of which he leads in, some by very big margins.

Of the 302 you might make a very implausible case that he might lose ALL THREE of Colorado, New Mexico and Virginia but he would still have 275 electoral votes, 5 more than he needs. He is untouchable in the states adding up to 275.

Never say never, but if this isn't "Game Over" something miraculous is going to have to happen.

"and try to tell me YOUR perspective is correct because you cannot prove I am wrong with science?"

No, you've got it backward. You're being told the scientific perspective is correct because YOU cannot prove you are RIGHT using science.

(see how I took the gloves off there Blue?)...#54 | Posted by donnerboy

Hey, it's your decision. I don't disagree with it, just don't want to go there myself.

Some of them would try the patience of a saint. Jesus himself(I believe that there was a historical figure, Jesus) was known not to suffer fools gladly.

"Never say never, but if this isn't "Game Over" something miraculous is going to have to happen.

Shit. There's errors in it. Too boring to get into. Reduces the probability of an Obama win from 99.9% to about 95%, I'd guess.

Do you realize you're practically begging TAKITEZ to expound on this?

PLEASE STOP ;-)!

The numbers are what the numbers are. If somebody else has a different set of numbers than what I am lookig at, let them expound away!

That doesn't take away from the fact that John McCain's candidacy is on life support.

CNN is doing everything they can do to make everyone believe that the race is tightening up. I think they are just doing it to salvage their election night ratings!

Haven't seen CNN but I suspect they're using Zogby polls. That guy must have photos of media types in compromising positions is my guess.

Even Zogby is having a hard time with their numbers. Two days ago they had Obama at +2.7%; yesterday, it was Obama at +5.4%....today, they showed the daily tracking poll at Obama +7.9%.

Somebody secure the top-floor windows at Zogby!

All of them are illegals, don't work or down or their luck. Save us Obama!

All the mocking "Messaih" crowd must have not lived through the Reagan era.

There were many attempts to carve his face on Mount Rushmore, moist eyes whenever his name was invoked. and throngs who would have renamed every school in the country after Reagan. Still that way in a lot of circles.

Now they want to denigrate Obama supporters for having the same level of excitement over their candidate.

He didn't have half the intellect Obama does.

Obama is a puppet and I am wondering who is pulling the strings and funding it? Who is funding either party?

The people that want to make a real living do not want to be tied up as running for pres. Too much hassle.

Our excitement for our candidate is based on the belief that Obama understands that Americans of tired of divisive politics. He understands that deep down we yearn for more than "somebody who you'd like to go have a beer with" to lead this country.

Obama is a puppet and I am wondering who is pulling the strings and funding it?

So, you know that Obama is a puppet but you don't know who is pulling the strings or funding it...maybe you ought to step back and rethink about what you claim to know. Maybe you are a puppet but, you don't know who is pulling your strings. Why don't you go figure out who your puppetmaster is and then get back with us!
