Good for them! I am glad they are protesting this occupation from within.

What Member said.

I see on the video accompanying the article that a few protesters burned Condi in effigy.

Goodness sake! That kind of hostility should be taken as a clear sign that we liberators need to stay until those savages understand we have only their best interests at heart.

Or until hell freezes over. Which ever comes first.

ungrateful bastards, fuck you.

That's right Audie!

Ungrateful and seemingly unrepentant for being Iraqis!

Why didn't these same people protest when Sad-damn was in power? I mean he truly brutalized them and they didn't say a damn thing.

As Americans, we need to just let people in other countries kill each other as they wish. When we get involved, we become the bad guy for trying to help. Screw it, the world is overpopulated anyway. Let them balance it out on their own.

"When we get involved, we become the bad guy for trying to help."

Do you think we'll ever learn?

I doubt it.

Not when there are enough Americans still willing to believe we invaded Iraq for a noble cause.

Nuke 'em

Not when Americans have this attitude that everyone needs to be like us. Fact is, we spread democracy to places that will never be like us. Heck, we are the greatest democracy in the world and all we hear about is voter fraud during every election. I bet other countries are thinking: "Sure, we should be like them because it will solve all our problems."

The US is the greatest country on earth. But, our system is not going to work everywhere. We need to get it through our heads that Iraq will always be led by the strongest dictator because that is all they want there. Instead of Sad-damn we will have hell-Sadr. And how many troops died for that transition of power?

It was Sadr's supporters

Anyone who believes Shrub attacked Iraq because he had the best interests of the Iraqi people forfront on his mind is as dumb as a post.

The Shrub doesn't even care about his own people. Right now he is busy emptying the Treasury fas a last hurrah. Then the next President will be hog-tied, unable to undue the damage to the economy, the military, jobs, trade, environment or the prison system. All you had to do was look at what Shrub did to Texas to know what he would do to the country.

Molly told everyone and a slight majority listened, so SCOTUS overturned their judgement. O'Conner did it so she could retire without changing the partisan nature of the Court.

**** ungrateful bastards, fuck you.

......we killed 500,000 to 800,000 of them.......
......made refugees of 4 or 5 million......
......took the country from 20% unemployment to 80% unemployement.....

....whats not to be grateful for ?......

I totally agree with that. Iraq is worse than our usually stupid endeavors to spread democracy. It was about oil and money. Oil didn't work out as expected, but Haliburton and other solid GOP companies did pretty decent.

Funny how McCain calls Dems socialists for wanting to redistribute wealth. Haven't Repubes done that already by taking hard earned tax dollars and gifted it to the rich a-holes that get them elected? Hmm.

John McCain..."I know what's best for Iraqis...they don't... and were staying for the next 100 Years....Fuck this Sovereignty bullshit"

The NeoCons have turned the GOP into a fiscally Liberal organisation replete with corporate socialism and a foreign policy that approaches fascism.

Ya know if you could harness the energy from Goldwater's corpse spinning in his grave over all this then America would be well on the way to energy independence.

Be Well.

cool, ok everybody lets go............

I wonder what everybody expects them to do.

they know what americans don't seem to know. there are oil fields and someone needs to champion them. the oil is no good until someone gets it out of the ground and refines it. they know the americans are gonna do that and they are ok with it.

now, it's time to end the occupation.

remember the test; if the american military is subject to iraqi law, they are guests. if they are not subject to iraqi law, they are occupiers.

we can't afford to be occupiers.

I never understood the theory that Iraq is going to be a close ally when all this is over. That's as naive an assumption as anything the hippies every cooked up.

Iraqis didn't like us even before we invaded their country. Given real democracy, they will elect leaders who reflect their strong dislike of us.

"we can't afford to be occupiers."

And you can't ask American military to go over there and be subject to Iraqi law. Either our soldiers are only subject to American law or we need to get the hell out of there.
Actually, regardless of who's law our soldiers are subject to we need to get the hell out of there.
No more 10 billion per month.
No more American soldiers killed for people who hate them.
