Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

John McCain likes to say he enjoys being the underdog. After all, this is the relentless candidate who somehow managed to capture his party's nomination after the political world left him for dead in the summer of 2007. But even as he spends the campaign homestretch reminding wary Republicans of his miraculous comeback last year, history suggests it may simply be too late.

You betcha.

yeah!

Be Well.

mccain was awesome at the alfred e. smith affair this evening - quite eloquent and complimentary of obama - they were both gentlemanly.

he's "got 'em right where" he "wants 'em"

You know had John McCain not sold out after 2000 and stuck to His principles we might be seeing a different outcome. Unfortunately/Fortunately whichever way You look at it. He didn't and now He is paying the price for that soul selling. He is a used up caracture of His former self. He really needs to be let out to pasture. His days are over.

Larry

"You know had John McCain not sold out after 2000 and stuck to His principles we might be seeing a different outcome."

Excellent point, Larry.

"You know had John McCain not sold out after 2000 and stuck to His principles we might be seeing a different outcome."

Yeah, I may have voted for him again. My old man feels the same way, and I doubt if we're the only two.

Only problem with that theory Larry is that the right wing base wouldn't support the other McCain.
He sold his soul to have their support and unfortunately for him that lost him the moderate Republicans. Two members of my own family aren't voting for him because of his choice of Palin who was chosen to bring in the base. I don't know if any Republican could win this year.

Yeah, I may have voted for him again. My old man feels the same way, and I doubt if we're the only two.

You're not. Myself and both my parents feel the same way. 3 of the guys whom I work with also feel the same. I actually hear a lot of people say this, it's kind of surprising I don't hear it more in the media. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of people who would have voted for McCain 1.0 stretches into the millions.

Saddam was an underdog too. Nixon thought he was an underdog.

Winning depends on teamwork and John has a great team.

Winning depends on teamwork and John has a great team.

But, their game is a 2000 game in 2008 circumstances.

The American public showed in 2006 that we're done with that kind of governance, rhetoric, and politics.

McWho?

ALEX

Add my moderate Republican friends to your list.

They're tired of Bush policies, tired of Rove politics, tired of ineptness in the White House.

We need big changes in this time of big problems. The same policies will not turn around the results of those same policies.

My wife an I would have voted for McCain v1.0. But, he's morphed into someone we can't vote for in his pandering to the shrinking Republican base.

People will be giving a second hard look at both the candidates as it winds down to the finish line --- Obama has not closed the deal yet: many still think as far as readiness to lead is concerned, McCain has the edge.

With Joe the plumber spooking Obama the ground has shifted a bit. (Also Sarah has reached out to Rush dittos.)

I wish it was over. It isn't, and don't think for one second anything is set in stone or even mud. My stomach is still doing flip-flops and it's not going to stop until well after Nov. 4th. Barack should definetly take his own advise and keep chasing hard until the final tally. I have a bad feeling we haven't heard the last of the Repubs by a long chalk in this election.

Help us Obi-Bama, your our only hope!

Palin gave the GOP a boost until Americans gave her a closer look. In most polls her unfavorables are higher than her favorable ratings.

Joe the Plumber is a fraud. In two days no one will care. Not when people are having a hard time and we're moving into a recession the likes of which we haven't seen in 30+ years. Added to that is that millions of jobs have moved overseas. In the 70's and 80's at least we HAD living wage jobs in the U.S. They're disappearing.

People vote with their pocketbooks. The public (less wingnuts who listen to the radio screamers) knows what the deal is. They are reminded every time they pay their utility bill, gas up the car, or go grocery shopping.

Add to that the fact we've had an inept and dishonest White House the last 8 years and McCain would need an atom bomb to hit in order to turn things around. He's turned into someone most people don't recognize. His support has reached it's zenith. A couple more points above 45 or 46% support is about all he will manage. He also has to win every Red state (8) where Obama is either leading or tied. Obama only has to win one.

The talk of "he's gonna raise my taxes" is moot. Without a job many won't be paying any taxes at all.

Takitez,

Joe was a sham and a plant.
He has no license...ows back taxes, would get a better deal from Obama, hates social security, is a far far cry from an undecided moderate republican.

McAind spent the entire debate PRETENDING to be concerned about this guy for his own political gain.

Straight talk?

I dont know why I bother pointing this out. IF you had a half a brain and a third mental capacity of a normal human, even you yould see how silly you sound.

For the general mass 'perception' matters. And perception has been favoring Obama with the help of liberal media, but finally something changed with Joe the Plumber spooking Obama. Now there is 'perception' in McCain's favor or at least Obama's favorable perception has been neutralised to a good degree.

Sarah Palin is doing fine: only the media is conspiring to say her favorability is going down blah blah blah.... not really. She is holding on fine. A huge asset to McCain's challenge on charisma.

In 2000 debate, Al Gore won.
In 2004 debate, Kerry won.
In 2008 debate, Obama won (Liberals said so).

Is there a pattern here?

"With Joe the plumber spooking Obama the ground has shifted a bit."

"Joe" proved he didn't know what he was talking about. He didn't understand the difference between gross income and net income, and didn't know Obama's tax proposal only effects net profits over $200,000. If anything, it showed once again how inept McCain's team is: they didn't vet the story JM referred to dozens of times. What idiot staffer heard "plumber" and concluded a quarter million dollar annual profit passed the smell test?

In 2008 debate, Obama won (Liberals said so).

Independents said so. They swing elections.

Democrats also enjoy a larger percentage of the voting public than they did even 4 years ago by at least 6%

Danforth and Americanunity, you're harping on the details. I'm highlighting on the 'perception.'
Obama got some eggs on the face and the perception has shifted a bit: that Obama may raise taxes and McCain may be business-friendly.

On this particular point: McCain won on the 'PERCEPTION' factor. And some hitherto undecided voters will go with that.

The business Joe was "buying" actually grosses $100,000 a year.

Joe's shot at that is, well, shot.

He does not have an apprentice or journeyman's certificate and cannot legally continue to work under his bosses license.

The Union isn't going to be throwing open the door for him to get that certification - not only because he's a 'scab', but also because the Pipefitters Union has thrown it's support behind Obama 100%

All that aside, if Joe can't afford the $1200 to pay his income taxes, he sure as hell isn't coming up with a down payment to buy anything.

Joe has done his job. I'm sure a repub will offer him a job in future, if it has to come to that.

Finally, McCain got a break he needed.... Obama has been getting all the credit for doing nothing, and now people are beginning to think this guy (Obama) has a socialist agenda. PERCEPTION.

Maybe Joe and Sarah can get a reality show.

"The NeoCons", where they bitch at 'liberals' and pretend to be conservatives who know what they're talking about. I'd guess Sarah's gonna run into some big problems when the Alaskan Legislature reconvenes in January. She's made a lot of enemies.

In both their cases, their sudden notoriety has shed light on corners of their lives and practices that leaves them vulnerable to losing the lives they knew after being exposed for the phonies they both are.

FOX News can use it to boost the ratings slide they'll experience as more and more Americans turn away from the vitriolic, divisive rhetoric that's torn America apart. The NeoCon's got their shot and made a fucking mess out of America. So, let's stop all the talk about how they have any credibility left. Their only hope is for more and more young people to drop out of high school and become sheep who believe everything those buttholes on the radio and TV tell them.

"you're harping on the details. I'm highlighting on the 'perception.'"

But "the perception" is only among the stupid.

Joe was/is so dumb, he was bitching about a situation where he'll come out better.

He's a perfect example of the Republican disconnect between fantasy and reality.

"Obama got some eggs on the face"

Because the McCain camp didn't understand the situation any better than Joe?!? At this point, the Republican team can make an omelet for every one of their voters.

"On this particular point: McCain won on the 'PERCEPTION' factor. "

Only if you're as dumb as Joe & The Republicans. Anyone who understands business or taxes knows they're both full of shit.

"Finally, McCain got a break he needed...."

Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

The EV count is:
Obama 65%
McCain 32%

Some "break".

John McCain was not quite 2 years old when his parents despaired of managing his tantrums; he would go into a "mad frenzy," he says, holding his breath until he passed out and fell to the floor. A Navy doctor offered a prescription: whenever McCain erupted, his mother would shout to his father, "Get the water!" Then his parents would fill a bathtub with cold water and drop their fully clothed son in. "Eventually," McCain recalls in his memoirs, "I achieved a satisfactory (if only temporary) control over my emotions."

Bundle of rage with a barely controlled hatred of his opponent. Yep, that's the guy you want across the table from Russia and China.

-you're harping on the details. I'm highlighting on the 'perception.'

Perception being more important than reality, don't 'cha know.

Is this poster Niceville, or someone trying to make Niceville look intelligent?

I'm highlighting on the 'perception.'

The debate perception was that mccadaver is too cranky and has no ideas.

The fact that that is also the reality is merely side dressing.
Take-if you want to know where the elcetion is going, watch the GOP-out of MI, WI and LA. They've written the EVs of two of those states off. As it stands, Obama doesn't need to win any of the "battleground" states, even though he leadsin most of them. Mccadaver has to win them all AND steal a major state back from Obama.
And he's got nothing.

www.realclearpolitics.com

Joe is not a licensed plumber nor is he an apprentice. He made only $40,000 in 2006 and to top it all off, the National Plumbers Union has endorsed Obama.

Oh well, revel in your anticipation of victory in the election as predicted by push polls. These polls are trying to produce a bandwagon effect, and also to discourage McCain supporters from voting.

Some more respectable pollsters show a 2 point gap between McCain and Obama. But buy the booze and prepare to celebrate. Heck, you can drink as much at a wake as at a wedding.

It's remarkable how people who want to advance the situation of their causes, use anecdotal data regarding people who associate with them, and who share similar views, as predictive of the outcome of elections.

If the steamroller effect of media support and distortion of issues, and suppression of information by not focusing on it regarding Obama's scandalous past activities and associations with blatant racists and anti-Semites, and people who hate America, and communists dedicated to overthrowing the American system, and the extent of "sharing the wealth" that he envisions, does not serve to propel the false image they have created into office, then you lefties will need to recognize that this is bascially a conservative country that rejects statism and cherishes freedom and liberty.

"Push Polls" are what the McCain camp is down to:

"If I told you Obama kills puppies in Islamic Satanic rituals would you be A. More likely to vote for him B. Less likely"

They're doing that shit and it's not working.

Have a good day.

BTW

Obama now up 6% in Missouri. One more state is falling in his column:

www.realclearpolitics.com

Some more respectable pollsters show a 2 point gap between McCain and Obama.

gallup has him at +2 or +5 depending on the traditional or extended poll. (funny Matt drudge didn't report that with his big red headline).
I know you're whistling past the graveyard Johnson, but the RCP average still shows Obama up by 6.8-that's several current pollsters.

Same with the state by state averages-a rouge poll won't make much of a difference. remeber, the RCP avergae was showing Obama up in MI while the Mcmaniacs were calling it a deadhead.

Just before they cut and ran.

"Some more respectable pollsters show a 2 point gap between McCain and Obama. "

But the only one that counts has Obama up about 33 points.

electoral-vote.com

The Supreme Court just ruled against the GOP in the Ohio voter registration case.

I do not believe that McCain (or any Republican) can win this election. The economy overrides everything. As I have said, if the current president were Democrat, Obama would be losing and McCain would be winning.

But, I think that Joe the Plumber has provided McCain an opportunity to put a "face" on the difference between his tax policy and Obama's. This will tighten up the race a bit.

Watch, when this happens the media, who has been carrying Obama's water throughout this election will go crazy. They will pull out all the guns to protect their candidate. Cripe that is why Obama has not had to go negative (even though one study showed that he is spending just as much money on negative ads as McCain)... Obama does not have to appear negative because the media is attacking McCain for him.

After the mind-numbingly re-election of Dumbya I continue to have very little faith in the average American Voter. Yes, I know the Electoral Map shows that Obama SHOULD win, but I can't shake a slight feeling of dread. Am I alone?

And it needs to be said - if the Democrats don't win THIS election after the Bush Years....then it is safe to say that the Dems will NEVER win the White House again.

John McCain will win November 4th.

There maybe riots.
There will be lawsuits.
There will be Dems and many more scratching their heads, crying foul, charging racism.

And it may not be officially over for weeks.

Come back November 5th and admit I'm right, or come back for a dinner of crow for me then.

"John McCain will win November 4th."

Wanna bet?

"But, I think that Joe the Plumber has provided McCain an opportunity to put a "face" on the difference between his tax policy and Obama's."

Yes it has, $40,000 per year Joe who isn't a plumber will get a tax cut under Obama. The only thing Joe the liar really accomplished is that he demonstrated he is a good registered Republican who is planning to vote for McSame. Most Americans have learned the truth about the differences between McSame's more tax cuts for oil companies and rich folks and Obama's tax cuts for the majority or working Americans.

"McWho?"

McDone Old

Danni, you miss the point... It is not who Joe *is* but what he represents. He has come to represent the person who will by their own hard work, make over $250K and therefore highlight the difference between McCain's view of taxes and Obama's.

When you are taking money from some hedge fund guy or a corporation, people do not feel so bad about that.

Obama did not help when he showed his true feelings and said that we should "spread the wealth around". That is just not how a lot of people feel it should be done. If you work hard and earn your money, you should pay your share, but not be forced to support others. Which by the way is what Obama's tax plan does.

SAWDUST

How many people do you know who NET $250,000 a year?

How many do you know who don't?

Why are we spending time talking as though the 2% of small business owners who make over $250K are the priority right now?

Even McCain railed against the tax cuts for the upper 5% of this country Bush pushed through. Well, until he needed their campaign donations anyway.

"It is not who Joe *is* but what he represents. "

Right.

He represents all the idiots out there who vote Republican, against their best interests, even when the facts have been explained to them. The ones who don't know the difference between gross income and net income, and think their incomes will go from $40,000 one year to $250,000 the next.

Polls, schmolls...we won't know the final score until the wee hours of Nov. 5th and maybe not even then. There are a lot of factors the pollsters can't discover when questioning people. In 1968, I was a "definite" for voting democrat for Humphrey and didn't change my mind and vote republican for Nixon until I was marking my ballot. I had voted for JFK and LBJ before that. I kinda felt like a traitor. I just couldn't deal with the "Great Society," "Guns and Butter" and all that. I felt the Democrat Party was moving too far left.
In this particular election, I'm sure that there are a number of voters who are saying they're voting for Obama but won't because he's black. On the other hand, there are some who are probably saying they WON'T vote for him for the same reason but they will when it comes time to vote. Pollsters can't really factor that in their results. With the numbers where they are, it's anybody's race right now.

"He represents all the idiots out there who vote Republican, against their best interests,.."

That's why we have YOU to tell us what's in our conservative best interests, Danny. What in the world would we do without you "actors" who are experts on taxes, foreign policy, national security, diplomacy etc. When are you and Sean Penn going back to negotiate with Chavez?

found a few tidbits in a blog about a group of religious republicans having a meeting:
They talked a little more about how Obama would destroy our country with "free health care" and "gay marriages". The feared his daughters would probably play loud rap music in the White House while world leaders were staying. They feared that Muslim would become our official religion. One of them even feared that "the Muslim language would be taught in schools."

....They just couldn't believe this great country would elect "that man". They couldn't believe God would allow it. One woman even thought that God may be punishing the country by giving us Obama.

For the Republican Party and the conservative movement, this is first a crisis of followership, not leadership. They've lost most professionals--doctors, lawyers, and investment bankers--the people who, 30-40 years ago, were the Republican base. All that is left are the bitter and bigoted dead-enders (to steal a phrase). You simply can't sustain a movement built around the kind of inchoate lunacy we're seeing from the Republican base.

The Explosive Anti, Spread The Wealth Plunger
It has happened. Who would have ever thought that a toilet plunger would affect a presidential election in the good old United States of America. But it has. Forget all the negative hype about Wall Street. Smart investors should run and buy stocks in hardware firms and plunger manufacturers. Sales of plungers are soon going to go thru the roofs.

I see plungers being raised as flags all over the country, to remind voters of the negative effect of planning to spread wealth around in America, a la Robin Hood. Joe, The Plumber, should immediately set up a chain of kiosks from East to West and from North to South, to sell, autographed by him, plungers. He will become a millionaire overnight. He will outsell the "snake oil pies" that Barack Obama is attempting to sell in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and the Virginias. It is amazing how toilet plungers carry more weight in truth in the United States than lies, unknown sources of funds, voter registration fraud groups, hypocritical news agencies, and white flags. Yes Virginia, there is a Truth Santa Klaus. He exists in the hearts of millions out there that still believe in those thoughts so gallantly expressed by the late Democratic President, Lyndon Baines Johnson, when he said: "I am a free man, an American, and a member of my party, always, and only in that order." That great president also stated: "I hate to wake up one morning, and find out that I have lost my freedom, because I was asleep, when I should have been awaken." Just as Lyndon Baines Johnson, who was run out of office by the Democratic Party of his days, put the "country first," so does an American hero named, John McCain. God has blessed America in the past, God is blessing America in the present, and God will always bless America in the future, no matter what others may say. And those same millions, have been proud of of their country, and it's flag, always.

who was run out of office by the Democratic Party of his days, put the "country first,"

Another reality avoiding righty. LBJ left when he realized he couldn't get out of a war he didn't want. He was literally sick and tired by then.

But do tell, where did you cut and paste that piece of crap from? Joe's plunger?

"For the general mass 'perception' matters. And perception has been favoring Obama"

Right on for a change, TakeIt. The only mystery left for Nov. 4 (perhaps other than the extend of the Bradley effect) is if the Rove side can really market Gramps and the lipsticked pig to the public. herm

can anybody explain why Mccadaver and Appalin are campaigning so hard for maybe 1 EV in Maine and in PA, where they are down by 10?

"In 2000 debate, Al Gore won. In 2004 debate, Kerry won. In 2008 debate, Obama won (Liberals said so). Is there a pattern here?"

TakeIt, you KNOW that Gore and Kerry outpolled Dubya in both years. McDubya's forces probably will not poll enough to enable another theft in 2008. herm

"Obama's scandalous past activities and associations with blatant racists and anti-Semites, and people who hate America, and communists dedicated to overthrowing the American system, and the extent of "sharing the wealth" that he envisions, does not serve to propel the false image they have created into office, then you lefties will need to recognize that this is bascially a conservative country that rejects statism and cherishes freedom and liberty."

This gross, blatant bullshit is all the uglies have left. Not little lies, HUGE lies to try to stem our country's anti-Fascist tide. I can hope, maybe even pray, that it won't work. herm

RIGHT

and possibly of massive voter fraud leaning towards obama HAS to make most of you just as happy as can be..........will you be outraged at it

OF COURSE NOT.................

and its not too late

look at some of the polls out today.......IF YOU look at polls.........but one after the other STILL has the race in area of error..........

so dont pick out those drapes yet barry or michelle

and of course ACCORDING TO CARVILLE.......if he loses, you better get out all those cops for the race riots.........

McCain really wants to retire and take Viagra and see if he can bang a couple more young blondes for old times sake. Is it true McCain has had sex with over 100 women? I read that somewhere.

I read that somewhere

I get crucified when I make that comment

I DONT DOUBT that you read it somewhere
but I wonder if leftists here will acost you as they do me on that statement.............we will see

AAGAIN..........look at some polls out today

and as always with the same skeptical eye that we on the right use for reading polls
but ALSO aGAIN.........shouldnt they be a WHOLE LOT HIGHER FOR "THAT ONE"..........

.shouldnt they be a WHOLE LOT HIGHER FOR "THAT ONE"..........

In a country where 15% have admitted they'd never vote for a black man and where the religious right has all but declared jihad on him, the question should be, why isn't a white protestant war hero and a super-hockey mom kicking his butt?

Better yet-how could Mcadaver go from a 3 point lead to a 7 point deficit in a month, after picking the highly qualified sarah palin as a running mate?

its bacause of the best thing that could possibly happen for dems

economic misery or more deaths in iraq

two things that make dems just glow with hope for the white house..............

that and mccain not taking it straight to obama and DEMAND ANswers about associations and tax policies

THE REAL policies......like the one that SLIPPED OUt with 'JOE"

The fat lady is warming up.

Its not a matter of who's smarter: for the general public, perception influences their direction. That is why charisma and star appeals count.

But if you really must know, check out how Howard Stern exposed some really stupid Obama supporters. NEWSBUSTERS dot org.

"You know had John McCain not sold out after 2000 and stuck to His principles we might be seeing a different outcome."

Yeah, I may have voted for him again. My old man feels the same way, and I doubt if we're the only two.

I agree. I tend to like Mccain too, but the past several years and this election have really brought the "real" Mccain out, and I'm not liking what I see. Straight talk express my ass.

The fact is, the guy half his age getting assaulted daily on the issue of race and other retarded shit is managing to keep a better composure and clearer message than the veteran.

Hell at this point Mccain is damn near campaigning for Obama the way hes runnin this campaign.

Most CEOs dislike Obama's economic plan. (But the liberal media is trying to ignore it).

Al Franken lost his temper.

Andrea Mitchell defending Obama.

Hank Williams Jr singing McCain-Palin Tradition.

Most CEOs dislike Obama's economic plan.

Well, sure. They won't be able to quit providing health care coverage and taxpayers will pick up the tab (think bailout).

They won't get tax credits for moving jobs offshore anymore.

They won't be able to hide their assets offshore.

They won't be able to get away with multimillion dollar golden parachutes or million dollar salaries when their companies are losing money and people are losing their jobs.

The list is long

All greed based

from Rasmussen:
New state polling from New Mexico has moved that state from "Leans Democratic" to "Likely Democratic" in the Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator. With this change, Obama leads in states with 260 Electoral College votes while McCain is ahead in states with 163 Electoral College votes. When "leaners" are included, it's Obama 300, McCain 174.

that's not cheerful to McCain!

In 2004 the liberals had moments of irrational exuberance when during the day in Ohio Kerry was ahead 8 points, but by evening he lost to Bush.

Al Franken lost his temper.

But will likely win his senate seat.

Oh yeah, contrary to "some polls" that the Mcmaniacs are blabbering about and Appalin has thanked God for, Obama is up another 1/10th point on the RCP average today.

Not significant, except for the direction.

McCain is not only in this race but I think he is leading. What the liberals in the media won't tell the public is that the pollsters are polling mostly Democrats in their polling to come up with their numbers.

For example, the AP/Yahoo poll just out has Obama barely leading only 44% to 42% which is within the margin of error. That is only what drive-by media types will tell you. What they won't tell you is that the poll used 873 Democrats but only 650 Republicans in the poll creating a false perception that Obama is leading. l.yimg.com

The Wall Stree Journal also chimed in on this with "Surveys giving Sen. Obama a large and growing lead tend to assume that a growing proportion of voters are Democrats, and a shrinking percentage Republicans." You have to love the word "assume".

online.wsj.com

Just watch all the lemming liberal Democrats watch with her jaws dropped when Obama inevitabley loses this election.

"Just watch all the lemming Democrats...."

Likely losers always confuse poll-taking with the practice of voodoo.

Reading what conservatives are saying among themselves about election 2008, they deserve to lose.

A group of people more hapless fixated on trivia no one but themselves feels to be important could not be imagined.

It regards to polls, it's always easy to argue some one or several polls are fixed or have systematic bias.

But when you have so many polls giving an edge to Obama, such assertions are revealed as the weirdness they are.

In 2000 debate, Al Gore won.
In 2004 debate, Kerry won.
In 2008 debate, Obama won (Liberals said so).

Is there a pattern here?

McCain Tries to Reclaim 3 Battleground States

NEW YORK Energized by his final debate performance, John McCain set out Friday to try to reclaim three battleground states that had been his until the nation's financial crisis.

The Republican presidential contender was scheduled to make two stops in Florida, then move on to North Carolina and Virginia on Saturday. He lost his lead in polls in all three states during the past month.

In Florida, McCain was getting a boost from Sen. Joe Lieberman, the 2000 Democratic vice presidential nominee who now is a political independent and ardent McCain backer. Lieberman, the first Jewish candidate on a major-party ticket, still has a strong following among Jews living in Florida and was to introduce McCain at stops in Miami and Melbourne.

Recent surveys have shown Democrat Barack Obama opening as much as a 5-point lead in the pivotal state.

The two are essentially tied in North Carolina, but Obama has opened a nearly double-digit lead in Virginia.

Joe is not a licensed plumber nor is he an apprentice. He made only $40,000 in 2006 and to top it all off, the National Plumbers Union has endorsed Obama.

and how is it that you know so much about this average white american male?

because reporters have done everything including MAYBE even going through his garbage and at THE SAME TIME, I betcha that there has never even been a single satilite truck parked outside of the home of bill ayers or tony rezko or rev wright with the intent of actually looking for the truth.....

more proof
media is so totaly in the tank for obama

"The media is so in the tank for Obama...."

We need to get beyond this nonsense. If Obama wins the election it's because the opposition has done such a wretched job these eight years...

And because frightened Americans read what Republicans are concerned about right now and find it has little or nothing to do with them.

I'm still trying to figure out why a tax cut for the upper 2% of Americans is a good deal but a tax cut for the bottom 90% is socialism.

I'm NOT ALONE in this.

thats actually a good question zed...............

tax cuts DO work..........just ask JFK.........

well you might have to channel him or something to actually ask him but you get the point......

there is no doubt that with this banking thing just passed that socialism and it just might be needed to get out of it

still asking the question

was or was it not hoover who was the last pres to raise taxes in the face of a recession.........

Gawd yer thick.

Joe the Plumber thought he was gonna be clever when he saw Obama campaiging up his street. Like the brain addled Rtard he is he'd heard from FOX or some equally reliable news source that Obama's tax plan was gonna hurt small businessmen (it's not by the way, quite the opposite) so he makes up a scenario in which he is gonna buy a plumbing business and sez it's gonna make 280,000 dollars in it's first year.

Are you still with Spud or has all that reading made you sleepy agin? Take a li'l nap if you need and then come back and press on. Ready? Let's go...

So, Joe chose to thrust himself into the national spotlight. Now rightwing media specifically Drduge picks this story up and runs down the field with it. Camp McCain desperate to try and get away from the perception that he's another Bush offering tax cuts to the corporate fat cats (which he is, btw) seizes on th story and proceeds to make the last debate of the closely watched election cycle all about Joe th ePlumber.

Did you get that? Joe chose to lie. John chose to go with the story at full speed without checking out the particulars.

By the end of the debate the entire world was asking "Who the fuck is Joe the Plumber?" That's where Joe's story started to unravel. Turns out he's not a registered plumber, he's a tax evader who made 40,000 dollars last year who would actually benefit under Obama's proposed tax plan.

The whole world reads these revelations and has a good laugh at McCain and Joe the Rtard's expense.

Now, Rtards being Rtards, these facts just bounce off of them like tennis balls off a brick wall. Ergo, Scary Failin and John are continuing to use this busted crayon of a talking point when out among the bewildered herds of RTs mostly to great effect.

In terms of who the MSM are in the tank fer?

That's a little more complicated. The MSM are first and foremost in the business of promoting a pro-corporate/anti people agenda without looking like they are doing so. They are fully invested in making both sides look equally good and bad so that the government is easier to corrupt by achieving wot Spud has taken to calling the "51/49% solution". Ergo the press on this event is mixed with some papers actually saying that Joe the Plumber helps McCain because Obama is threatening to run away with the election and that threatens the carefully coordinated status quo of gridlock that remains the perrenial excuse why "nothing's geting done".

This isn't to say that there aren't fine elements of writers, both left and right, out there in the media just that their voices are largely washed out in the din of corporate propaganda that permeates the MSM as a rule and that the powers that be at each news agency are fully in charge of defining where the "bounds of the expressable" lie.

Spud realises you prolly stopped reading a while back but thought it worth a shot anyway.

Be Well.

/Ayers and Rezko and Wright?
//Oh My!

no I read the whole thing and now I will stop holding my nose while I read................

the overriding part of this whole episode is that joe exposed obama for the euro socialist that he and liberal democrats are..........
and that trumps all other things involved with the story EXCEPT For the visciousness that the media has gone after him with

the silver lining for him........

if I were him I would be in the tshirt shop RIGHT Now getting my picture on as many as I could and start selling those suckers

BUT THEN he would just be punished for making money anyway

To late for the US. The only reason the socialist countries made money is because they did business with us.

If we adopt socialist values we will be stuck in the dark ages. Captilism deals with the slackers, socialism does not.

"Capitalism deals with slackers...."

Not recently. Not under George W. Bush. Cheaters prosper. Why is that?

Danforth, $ 5?

McCain wins, you pay me $ 5.
Obama wins, I pay you $ 5.
