And why is depiction of watermelon, ribs, and fried chicken considered negative? I can understand the association with blacks. But why is it negative for a black man to be associated with foods associated with black folks? I like those foods on occasion also and don't feel as if it is derogatory to enjoy them.

Of course, Obama's church for some 20 years, was proudly black or something like that, so why should he be aggrieved by being associated with foods associated with black people?

I love watermelon, and think it was a gift to the world from Africa. It's not only tasty, it's very nourishing.
