Why is it so important to register everyone? Many people don't care, don't know, don't have time. Why should we stop them from not voting? Voter registration fraud is not the same thing as vote fraud. Even if a group submitted fake registrations -- ACORN is not allowed to reject registrations, as the link explains -- that does not mean those fakes will be accepted by the registrar. It does not mean those fakes will vote.

There's no widespread evidence of vote fraud in this country. It's a boogeyman the GOP brings out every four years, but there's no factual basis.

That's not correct. You have to show an ID to vote. Every time I vote here in Florida, I show my driver's license. It's the "photo ID" that isn't required.

Voter registration fraud is an incredibly inefficient way to effect voter fraud. The levels of participation required before a meaningful difference can be made at the ballot box is huge. And, I can't believe that it is being ignored that ACORN flagged the suspect registrations themselves. If ACORN is trying to perpetuate voter fraud, warning the registrars of possible fraud is probably a bad move. It's a waste of resources to focus on that sort of voter fraud when there are so many more effective ways to perpetuate electoral fraud, such as intimidation and tampering.

I used to hate it in class when I was a kid when the teachers slowed everything down to the learning pace of the dumb kids, I still hate it, seems exactly like this on this issue and many others.

Using recruitment of voters as a manipulative tactic undermines the idea of democracy, knowledgeable voters participating in the government and determining its course.

This conflation of "treated blacks as property" with the idea of universal suffrage is an indication of the confusion permeating leftist presentation of their views on the subject.

How are they connected. If blacks were not part of the community any more than say a corn crop or a barn, how is their situation related to elibibility of members of the society to vote?

Historically, there are people living in a society, who were excluded from voting. Nowadays many states exclude convicted felons from voting (a practice which I oppose as I think that once a person is restored to society he should not be "an outlaw" not invested with a full panoply of rights), and also exclude other persons with certain conditions.

Restriction of persons eligible to vote is consistent with democracy. It is beneficial for example, to limit the voting franchise to taxpayers where there are reasonable standards for inclusion in that class, so that demagogues cannot exploit the masses in a populist attempt to seize political power and use bread and circuses to distort the operation of society, and ultimately cause debacles such as the Community Redevelopment Act and the Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac mandate to buy bad paper to foster home ownership, did. Social engineering is a consequence of misuse of governmental apparatus to accomplish purposes not inherent in the function of government.

Gosh, they not only register them, but they complete absentee ballots for them, and submit them for them.

Absentee ballots are possibly the greatest contributor to voter fraud.

Why is bringing 1.3 million proles onto the voting rolls considered positive?

It's a corruption of "democracy" to take disinterested people or people too stupid to know what's going on in the world, and cast their votes in a forum that ultimately results in determination of policy.

There should be a 20 year term in the federal penetentiary for participating in voter fraud. It undercuts democracy.
