I think one of the best organizations around is a volunteer group known as "Doctors Without Borders." They are a changing group of physicians and nurses who will fly anywhere to help the poorest in about 60 countries. These doctors and nurses pay their own way and/or rely on donations only to pay for all the medical supplies they need. The doctors and nurses vary and each donates time when they can. They all come from many different hospitals and practices around the U.S.
