Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

After a week in which John McCain and Sarah Palin rallies took an ugly turn, McCain defended Obama Friday to a questioner who said he was an untrustworthy Arab. "No, ma'am," McCain replied, taking her microphone. "He's a decent, family man, a citizen I just happen to have disagreements with (him) on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign is all about."

"I have to tell you, he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States." - John McCain speaking about Obama.

McCain's comments were loudly booed by his fans.

"McCain's statements were loudly booed by his fans...."

The most dangerous people in the world are poor losers.

He ain't gonna get that Djinn put back in the bottle.

Frank, I think you're right. McCain's put himself in an unenviable position.

Too bad his supporters, and Palin, won't listen. I knew John had some good in him, and I was wondering where the John McCain of old had gone. It's like Return of the Jedi when Luke de-masks Vader. You really don't like Vader but you know he is dying and you feel a little sorry for him.

Dying in a political sense not in the literal sense.

You reap what you sow. McCain's campaign has went 100% dirty. He's put Palin and his surrogates out there to attack Obama on his character. They try to make people afraid of Obama because "he's not like us" Americans.

The country is facing it's biggest financial crisis perhap of all time, we are engaged in two wars, being threatened by Iran and facing a new conflict with Russia. Instead of facing all these big scary issues McCain gave up on talking about them and went after Obama. What did he expect was going to happen with his supporters, especially the ones who have been listening to right-wing radio and Fox news feed this fear for over a year now?

It seems John McCain is so back and forth in his responses to Barack Obama. Thes last two days he has held hate rallies in Flordia and Ohio and today he is decent man. What I think happened was the McCain campaign was told of the Troopergate findings just before it was released to everyone else and he decided to stop the personal attacks.
This whole finding will force John McCain and Sarah Palin from talking about ethics reform in Washington DC as well as the character assigination of Barack Obama. The Obama campaign should now release a you-tube clip cutting Sarah palin.

At last a moment of lucidity from McCain.

His campaign is on the verge of causing violence.

He in Damage Control Mode. He know He lost Big Time. He going Down Fast. Poor McCain. He should find Retirement Home and relax.

Larry

As somebody somewhere on the TV said today. "Where are all the pitchfork wavers gonna go now?"

No. Now is the time for Obama and his campaign to take the high road. The gracious thing to do is to repay the compliment by not going excessively negative and turning the basic dialogue of this election back to the issues where it belongs.

Those clowns heckled their own candidate for being civil. The video reminded me of a Springer taping.

Woman: "I don't trust Obama, I have read about him. He's an Arab."

Obviously part of Duuuhbya's "base".

I have to tell you, he is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States." - John McCain speaking about Obama.

In boxing this is known as "throwing in the towel".

Should have picked Mitt.

Mitt would have been exposed as a venture capitalist who shipped thousands of jobs overseas. Also, a man who doesn't know who he is or what he stands for.

Either he was masquerading as a moderate when he ran for governor of Massachusetts, or he was lying this time.

Take your pick

They're both corporate stooges.
Fuck'em both, and fuck the corporate media for all the bullshit spin about them, like they are really apposed, and different. If you look at their policies there almost identical.
Globalists, with a globalist agenda.

Man, now that audience plants that he hired to help him geth this ball rolling are out of jobs, right when unemployment stats we're moving back towards the goood. . . .

John McCain looked and sounded like a man who has come to terms with his defeat.

I know he was just responding to media pressure to tamp down the anger but he really has nothing left to offer except an olive branch.

His base is as fickle as he has been these past few years.

I'd like to see him wave his middle finger at them all and spend the remaining days of this campaign going back to the roots of the Republican Party ~ the real roots, not the ones the neocons invented.

He might even get a tick in the polls.

The most dangerous people in the world are poor losers.

Or, in the case of Detroit, poor winners

the lady said "he's an Arab", McCain told her "...no, he's a citizen, a good family man" After the rally the lady said "he's a muslim, a terrorist", McCain's comments had no effect!

these low info voters are right wing Palin supporters, they won't listen to McCain, hating is their badge of honorless. but it does indicate that the larger crowds brought in by Paln are these types, McCain probably now regrets his Palin pick and in his mind he probably said "holy shit!"

These people don't seem to care about anything other than hating.

There is joy to be found in this world-even under this cloud we got over us now.

"It's so easy to laugh
It's so easy to hate
It takes strength to be gentle and kind"-The Smiths

Do something lovely today.

I'm glad McCain did this, but I suspect that if the character assassination campaign against Obama was working, and he wasn't getting hammered in the press, he'd keep it up.

But still, any example of grace in politics is a welcome one.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama attracting 52% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. This is the first update based entirely on interviews conducted after the second Presidential debate and it shows virtually no change. On Tuesday morning, just before the debate, Obama was leading 52% to 44%.

I am a liberal who liked the old John McCain and have been blessed to see a glimmer of it here.

As for his supporters...feh!

"The most dangerous people in the world are poor losers."

Isn't that the truth. Look at these nice folks during the last 8 years. They have given the word "vile" a new definition.

The only people Obama is going to be able to unite are his close followers.

Obama is lying about Ayers and his backing as a terrorist hugging socialist does the country great harm. He said he didn't know about Ayer's past. Then said he thought Ayers was reformed. He sat on a board with him for 5 years and improperly passed out a $100 Million Educational grant to radical anti American groups. A full investigation is mandatory.

Boy, AC-you really do suck.
You been to many Palin hate fests?

It seems John McCain is so back and forth in his responses to Barack Obama. Thes last two days he has held hate rallies in Flordia and Ohio and today he is decent man. .

and of course you are wrong

mccain has been pretty straight about not calling obama WHAT HE IS.......a european style socialists as well as others.......you are just hearing what you want to hear

Like Bush, as usual, McCain is finally thinking about his legacy, and the day he walks back to the senate.

Boy, AC-you really do suck.
You been to many Palin hate fests?

#28 | Posted by frankf55 at

and again a liberal fuck has no answer except to attack....

ac is absolutely correct and you dont know it because the media is covering for him

he also is lying about his involvment with acorn and so as we saw with blowjob billy......once they start lying they cant stop ........so what else is a lie

and the acorn thing was on his website where he said he had no invovlement with acorn and he is LISTED AS A LAWYER FOR THEM in the mid 90's when they sued to be able to just GIVE AWAY voter regs to anyone

so they got by that one by frauding the american voter

it's over bootlicker.

deal with it.

A full investigation is mandatory.

What are you waiting for?

I think that McCain is honestly frightened by what he and Palin have sown here. They have called up the whirlwind and now they have to ride it out and pray none of the lunatic fringe they are appealing to actually takes action. Especially in view of what William Platt said at the rally in Leigh Pennsylvania earlier this week. And now McCain sees for himself - when he attempts to say something positive about Senator Obama, the crowd goes wild booing him. I don't remember EVER hearing a crowd as rabid as these that Palin is drawing at her rallies and she is revelling in it. That is one damned scary bitch and the sane people in the United States are right to fear her and her tactics. It is out of McCain's control now and all he can do is hope things don't escalate.

Ha. The rethug audiences show up at GOPher events prepared to hate.

They find Yawn McLame there is his wispy voiced "Mr Nice Guy" persona and they Boo him off the stage.

Guess his "pitbull with lipstick" has been a li'l too effective with her hate-fest rallies.

Well her along with the straw-grasping assholes on rightwing radio who've seen the writing on the wall by this point and who are freaking out big time.

Look carefully kids, this is the true face of "compassionate conservatism".

Hate-fuelled rethugs screaming fer blood en masse and booing their own candidate fer not giving up the red meat.

Tsk tsk sez Spud.

Be Well.

AC, why is an investigation needed? Are you talking about a criminal investigation? What laws do you believe may have been violated?

Or are you talking about investigative reporting? It's already been done by CNN and they determined that Obama was under stating the extent of the relationship and that McCain was over stating it.

Maybe you'd like an investigation into how it impacts the issues that the people of America are concerned about, the economy, foreign policy, energy/environment, etc.

and I am going to make another prediction just from what I am reading here

IF obama is president and with the stroke of a pen he destroys the first amendment with bringing back 'fairness doctrine'........which he will......

it will be called hate speech.........
these people arent speaking hate.
they are speaking thier mind as to a socialists government.......EVEN MORE SO......under obama....

and AGAIN........if the subject were protecting some little germ somewhere from a place where we wanted to build something, these people would be environment patriots and not what you liberal fucks are calling them............

here is a perfect time to see what an obama administration might look like

you disagree..........you are a rascist wacko........

Any person that think that he or she is informed by only hearing Fox News or the Right wing Radio NUTS, are just as crazy as those on the other side of the camera.

TERRIORIST, UN-AMERICAN, MUSLUM, UPPITY, ELITE you know not one of us, you can hear this every day on FOX an on RIGHT WING RADIO.....If you shake the tree long enough some NUTS will fall out an the McCain Campaign an thier minnions are reaping what they have sewn!!!!!!

Go back to blowin' the monkey-in-a-man-suit-
bushblowertoo.....

here is a perfect time to see what an obama administration might look like

you disagree..........you are a rascist wacko........

#37 | Posted by bushlovertwo

Speaking of wackos-when did you get out of the nuthatch bushblowertoo?

bite me bitch............I cant help it if you cant see the truth behind the obamamanic mantra that has gripped so many people here

one term ala jimmy carter..........IF he is elected in the first place

and make NO MISTAKE..........if so much of his past is off limits now.......just think of the bullshit if he is in the white house.........

gotta go

have a great weekend

"I am a liberal who liked the old John McCain and have been blessed to see a glimmer of it here."

I agree.

I must have missed something, BLT - wasn't it Shrub & Co who are financing Wall Street with government tax monies? Isn't it Grampy Poopy Pants who wants to buy up private mortgages with government tax monies? I may be wrong here - but isn't that what SOCIALISTS do? Turn privately-owned businesses and properties into GOVERNMENT-OWNED businesses and properties? It's done, BLT - and by a repulsican president. Frankly, I don't blame you for having trouble with this - I am too! And so are the REAL conservative repulsicans, which is why they are running from Grampy Poopy Pants as if their asses were on fire!

I saw this exchange between McCain and a woman in the audience at one of his town hall rallies a couple of times on television this week.

I thought McCain showed a lot of dignity -- and an uncommon gentleness and patience -- in the way he addressed her concerns (and apparent fear) about Obama being "an Arab." I felt McCain's comments to her about Obama and that she need not be afraid of him even were Obama to be elected President showed a side of McCain which was definitely to his credit. It did not portray weakness on his McCain's part at all to say he respected Obama and in fact gave McCain points in my book.

However, I fault VP Palin and Rush and Hannity for ramping up the "Barak Hussein Obama" talk as they now intentionally use his middle name to give the allusion he is an Arab, and for their continually saying Obama "is friends with a domestic terrorist" talk which plays strongly to their base -- the listen to FOX and far right talk radio only crowd known for not having the highest of IQ's.

I also blame Obama for not having openly addresssed these issues but simply taking a "tsk tsk for even thinking it" attitude.

Obama still has not explained why he and his family sat for 24 years in the racist "church" of his beloved mentor Reverand Wright who preached Black nationalism every week either. Sure, Obama has now disavowed further relations with the "Reverand" Wright but only when it was politically expedient for him to do so and it took weeks. Of course Obama had nothing to do with Ayers as he was only 8 years old when the bombings took place but Obama has never fully explained either his present relationship with Ayers or really talked about his 24 year devotion to the racist Reverand Wright -- as evidenced by the fact that the other side is still able to use this against him. Why won't Obama talk about it?

There is blame to go around on both sides.

gotta go

have a great weekend

So where are you off to, you little rascal?

First to the library to try some more pick-up lines on the woman you fell in love with there a few weeks ago and then over to your beloved golf course hoping the grass has dried out enough from Hurricane Ike to have a decent golf game? lol.

As they swing wildly seeking the unlikely home run to save their faltering presidential campaign, the nation's Republicans run the dirtiest campaign in my memory. And while I cast my first vote for Adlai Stevenson, I was involved at age 10 when Wendell Willkie challenged FDR in 1940.

They scream "radical" at president-to-be Obama, and that isn't flying; he's pure centrist. They purport to make him a "moose-lim;" not that that should disqualify anyone, but he's a Congregational: United Church of Christ. They scream "terrorist,' hoping that something might stick because he's cordial to people who saw the world differently 40 years ago. When that doesn't work, the ancient Arizonan and the Alaska Airhead incite their few remaining followers into vicious hatred, into screaming kill-kill-kill.

The Repubs have nothing left but the race label; their opponent is, after all, half white. But as Kathleen Hall Jamison pointed out to Bill Moyers on PBS last night, never before has a party questioned the integrity, the very patriotism, of its opposition. It's a sad day. herm

Right-wingers are a sheet away from a lynching.

"...I know he was just responding to media pressure to tamp down the anger...Posted by Twinpac..."

You Mean FBI/HOMELAND SECURITY pressure, of course - right?

FOR BUSHLOVER TWO:

I am reminded of Andrew Stevens in Brian DePalma's movie "The Fury." When Stevens would get angry with someone and direct his ESP powers at them, his middle temple vein would Bulge and Pump with Angry Blood.

So in fairness this Left-Wing Liberal Faggot will take you up on your Hannities:

"...IF obama is president and with the stroke of a pen he destroys the first amendment with bringing back 'fairness doctrine'...

Hey! Moron! The fairness doctrine will remove the MONOPOLY of four Right-Wing Media Barons who own nearly ALL MEDIA in this country - and use that ownership to control public opinion. It's called The Fairness Doctrine - an Anti-Trust Act - because it returns the first amendment to 'We The People' by assuring that OTHER OPINIONS can be heard!

But I know you desperately need well over 1000 radio stations across the country to hear Rush Bimbo and Sean Faggoty - while liberals are only on 60 stations. That's well over 11-to-1 Right Wing Bias, and exactly why you are such a mess. So don't let truthiness stand in the way of your Fauxiness!

"..it will be called hate speech...you disagree..........you are a rascist wacko........Posted by bushlovertwo"

Kind of like "You're either with us, or you're with the terrorists?" spewed by GWB?

...he also is lying about his involvment with acorn ...once they start lying they cant stop ...so what else is a lie..?"

There is no LIE. Obama has worked with ACORN. ACORN registers all people. Democrats, Republicans and third parties.

But you keep blocking out responses from independent investigators who are saying THERE IS ONLY INUENDO. NO CRIMES:

ACORN has NOT been charged with a crime because Acorn DOES NOT fill out registration forms, Idiot.

ACORN hands them out to PEOPLE who fill them out. Then ACORN verifies the reg-forms. If they can't be verified, they get sent to State Electioneers' Offices around the country.

ACORN CANNOT STOP LIARS from filling out false registrastion information - WHICH IS A CRIME.

It'd called 'Operation Chaos' for a reason. Remember?

You republicans wouldn't even KNOW THIS STORY if it wasn't for ACORN turning is FALSIFIED REGISTRATION FORMS that they flagged.

So next time you're sitting in Church and your Christian Con Man hands out your voter guide pamphlet to you so you'll pick their annointed Straw Man, ask yourself a tough question; who is reallly breaking the law here! You'll be ready to turn in your Pamphlett to the Election Office in your state, right? No? Then YOU are a criminal.

"...so they got by that one by frauding the american voter... Posted by bushlovertwo

What the HELL is 'frauding' the american people. There's this other word: defrauding. You might know it, but that would entail you reading a dictionary. And we know what YOU PEOPLE think about book learnin'.

Lesson Learned Today: From the desperate shreiking tone and terror in BushLoverTwo's postings it is obvious:

You have finally realized you have lost the race.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!

OH NO! He 'sat' on a board with him?

Holy Shit!!

You do realize that the 'board' was founded by an Ultra-Conservative Reagan era man who chose these people to sit on the board, right?

I guess Reagan was a terrorist.

Sara 'Failin' Palin is a liberal?

Half the board Obama and Ayers shared were conservative Republicans.

Straight from the McCain campaign, Obama still pals around with terrorists, just saw it on TV.

On another note, has anyone here ever actually seen a campaign where one candidate had to, in so many words, ask his supporters not to physically harm their opponet? It's outrageous.

Obama still has not explained why he and his family sat for 24 years in the racist "church" of his beloved mentor Reverand Wright who preached Black nationalism every week either. I gotta say Chris. I completely disagree on both counts. Theres not much more to say about Reverend Wright. Obama gave a 20 minute speech and follow-up on his connections to the man. He talked about how he found the church and god there, and while the Reverend Wright comments may be unnerving, I have no problem believing the entire church wasn't based on that clip of rhetoric.

As to Bill Ayers...The man was part of a Radical anti-war group in the 1960's that never harmed a person. Noone was shot killed or bombed...So I have real trouble equating them with modern day terrorists.. The group dissolved when the Vietnam war ended and since then he's become a professor at a notable state university, a fervent community activist, and even received a citizen of the year award for his work in Chicago. The tenuous connections between Obama and Ayers really require no further vetting.. Obama has already decried his activities in the past.

Here's what I do believe... The plan's both Obama and Mccain have outlined will be the ones they will try and achieve in their first term.. with varying degrees of political capitol being spent on each one. I believe the stances they have made on how they will look to deal with foreign policy in the future. I think both men truly want the best for the country, I just like Obama's plan better and believe that the issues He will more likely focus on are the ones that concern me the most (Obama seems more likely to pursue Energy Independence then Mccain and that is a big one for me).

All the other crap is just that...crap... and the republicans do themselves a disservice by pursuing it..

What better campaign ad could Obama use than this one. This is a slam dunk for him.
