Student Tries to Purify, Burn Teacher-Witch

FERNDALE, Mich. -- Ferndale police said an adult education student tossed liquid on a teacher because he believed she was a witch who needed to be purified. He also had a lighter and wanted to, in his words, "burn the witch."

I love 'The Crucible'. I guess I didn't know people would ever respond to it this way. I've heard that some conservatives have tried to ban it since John Proctor doesn't suffer any consequences from his affair (I don't know why they can't trace the affair to the ending of the play...it's pretty obvious to me).

Anyway, this kid sounds more like he's mentally ill than he's seriously concerned about witches in Michigan.
