McCain's in a conundrum.

Going negative cost him his image for 'straight talk' and casts him in the same mold as those who villified him in SC in 2000.

Voters aren't too keen on negative ads this year - THANK GOD! About time the voters woke up.

"About time voters woke up...."

It is interesting none of the swiftboating appears to have traction this year. Maybe it's because people know it's their asses on the line this time.

They'll will be chanting Rezko/Wright/Ayers for the rest of the campaign. In other words, mimicking the Hillary campaign, and will probably have the same results.

NULL

That will just make McCain seem smaller than he already is. As ZED pointed out voters know it's their asses on the line this time.

Well I hope you're right, but this is the same electorate that elected Bush twice.

Sarah.....Barack was 8 years old, what the fucX are you talking about.

From the Breitbart article:

Obama, who was a child when the group was active, served on a charity board with Ayers

And therein lies the connection. God, they're desperate.

sarah is a real hay dare piece of alaska shit

Is there any advantage to running for president but not winning it? I can't figure it out. It almost seems like mcstupid wants to give the election away.

I wonder how Palin feels about her husband palling with American hating secessionists.

Just when you thought they'd never be able to find someone else as stupid as Bush.

John McCain is now taking the low road to the highest office in the land. John has valid policy arguments against Obama and he should play those out, but this is such a turnoff. It is sad to see him just give up.

Sad.

"Sad."

"It almost seems like mcstupid wants to give the election away." - Lipzoidal

The one fact that gives me pause about Obama (oh, ok, that and his support of nuclear energy) is right there. It's almost like the Republicans engineered the loss.

Manchurian candidate? Guess we'll see, but he still gets my vote thus far. If he's telling the truth, it'll be awesome, if he's full of it, well, it'll be good to show the country just how many parties we really have in this country.

Sarah needs to keep guarding the American Border for Putin when he rears his ugly head into Alaska.

Palin lies with such a straight face and THIS should be countered immediatly from Barack himself in an ad. Show the country what a dangerous person she can be. I mean everyone can lie but when someone will probably lie as a modus operandi to conduct business that is a whole different matter.

Try googling Sarah Palin's Fireside Chat. It's priceless. herm

Or the latest addition to my Palin e-mail file, now 225 K's:

[The]AlaskaWomen Reject Palin rally was to be held outside on the lawn in front of the Loussac Library in midtownAnchorage. Homemade signs were encouraged, and the idea was to make a statement that Sarah Palin does not speak for allAlaskawomen, or men. I had no idea what to expect.

The rally was organized by a small group of women, talking over coffee. It made me wonder what other things have started with small groups of women talking over coffee. It's probably an impressive list. These women hatched the plan, printed up flyers, posted them around town, and sent notices to local media outlets. One of those media outlets was KBYR radio, home of Eddie Burke, a long-time uber-conservativeAnchoragetalk show host. Turns out that Eddie Burke not only announced the rally, but called the people who planned to attend the rally "a bunch of socialist baby-killing maggots," and read the home phone numbers of the organizers aloud over the air, urging listeners to call and tell them what they thought. The women, of course, received some nasty, harassing and threatening messages.

I felt a bit apprehensive. I'd been disappointed before by the turnout at other rallies. Basically,inAnchorage, if you can get 25 people to show up at an event, it's a success. So, I thought to myself, if we can actually get 100 people there that aren't sent by Eddie Burke, we'll be doing good. A real statement will have been made. I confess, I still had a mental image of 15 demonstrators surrounded by hundreds of menacing "socialist baby-killing maggot" haters.

It's a good thing I wasn't tailgating when I saw the crowd in front of the library or I would have ended up in somebody's trunk. When I got there, about 20 minutes early, the line of sign wavers stretched the full length of the library grounds, along the edge of the road, 6 or 7 people deep! I could hardly find a place to park. I nabbed one of the last spots in the library lot, and as I got out of the car and started walking, people seemed to join in from every direction, carrying signs.

Never, have I seen anything like it in my 17 and a half years living in Anchorage. The organizers had someone walk the rally with a counter, and they clicked off well over 1400 people (not including the 90 counter-demonstrators). This was the biggest political rally ever, in the history of the state. I was absolutely stunned. The second most amazing thing is how many people honked and gave the thumbs up as they drove by. And even those that didn't honk looked wide-eyed and awe-struck at the huge crowd that was growing by the minute. This just doesn't happen here.

Then, the infamous Eddie Burke showed up. He tried to talk to the media, and was instantly surrounded by a group of 20 people who started shouting O-BA-MA so loud he couldn't be heard. Then passing cars started honking in a rhythmic pattern of 3, like the Obama chant, while the crowd cheered, hooted and waved their signs high.

So, if you've been doing the math Yes. TheAlaskaWomen Reject Palin rally was significantly bigger than Palin's rally that got all the national media coverage! So take heart, sit back, and enjoy the photo gallery. Feel free to spread the pictures around to anyone who needs to know that Sarah Palin most definitely does not speak for all Alaskans. The citizens ofAlaska, who know her best, have things to say.

I'm just the messenger. herm

I've been avoiding that C word Legio... but it sure fits her to a tee !

A current electoral poll :
No Toss Ups: Obama 353, McCain 185

Going in I didn't feel hatred for McCain... now I'd like to see him take a crushing defeat, send him whimpering back to the senate.

They'll will be chanting Rezko/Wright/Ayers for the rest of the campaign.

They waited too long. It won't work.

"They waited too long, it won't work...."

From what I can tell they are nonetheless sharpening their knives.

But it is too bad from their point of view they've waited until Obama opened up a ten point lead in some states that were until recently termed battlegrounds.

Husseins only freinds are terrorists, philandering racists, and convicted felons. You spend all your time insulting Sarah Palins children while ignoring the fact that Hussein is the least qualified and most corrupt person to EVER run for the presidency.

How sad for you.

Is it just me or is thread laid out in anew format?

Rex, good to see things haven't changed, you're still as thick as a brick.

Oh well, at leat PWZ is doing well.

"thick as a brick"

www.youtube.com

Hussein has never accomplished anything, everything he has ever touched has turned to shit.

That public housing he worked on as a community organizer? A ruined slum.

The radical school agenda he and terroist Bill Ayers worked on? Scrapped and forgotten.

The racist church he belonged to? Discredited and dispised.

His work extorting FNMA? almost ruined our economy

If those lowlife didn't have the MSM running cover for him, he would be laughed off the national stage.

Time to talk about McCain's terrorist pal, Oliver North, who is responsible for far more actual acts of terrorism and deaths than Ayers.

'Wright', America the terrorist nation. Husseins sentiment exactly.

"He would be laughed off the national stage....."

Pretty much as it appears the Republican Party will be, eh wot?

I guess Rex would endorse the idea that Bad Presidents make for Bad Elections. God knows, the prez we've had these last eight years was a nightmare.

Husseins a sham, a rorshach test in which you can project your own opinon and feelings on with no basis in fact.

Can anyone tell me one thing that Hussein has done in his entire life that makes him worthy of being the Commander in Cheif of America?

One signature accomplishment done for the betterment of America as a nation.

Anyone?

Couldn't get into Harvard Law, could you, Rex?

"Everybody who ever did it never did it before."
-Lenny Bruce

"In fact, McCain does have a supporter who is far more of a terrorist than Bill Ayers. His name is Oliver North. Ayers was never prosecuted for any crime. North, by contrast, was convicted (he got away with it because his testimony to Congress provided him with immunity).

In case you've forgotten, North was a central figure in the Iran-Contra scandal of the Reagan Administration. The weapons illegally supplied by North to Iran and the Contras were used by both groups to kill innocent people. And that makes him a direct supporter of terrorism.

So what is the McCain campaign's position toward this terrorist supporter? Have they denounced his views? No, McCain's own campaign website promotes the endorsement of him by Oliver North.

And what is the media's position on McCain's terrorist supporter? Have they written articles bringing up North's past crimes and his links to McCain? Have they contacted the McCain campaign to ask if the McCain will distance himself from his controversial supporter? Actually, the Washington Post blog did ask the McCain campaign, "Is McCain pleased to receive North's endorsement, given the fact that the failed GOP senatorial candidate was convicted in 1989 of shredding documents, accepting an illegal gratuity and aiding and abetting in the obstruction of Congress?" The McCain campaign declined to criticize North or remove their link to his endorsement: "We'll let the comments in the release stand," wrote spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker in an e-mail. The Post also notes in its blog that McCain supported North in his 1994 campaign for the Senate in Virginia. But no one else in the press has uttered a word about the subject. "

Be a little more sensitive. Rex's own congressional candidate won't identify himself as a "Republican".

It's "GOP" or nothing.

Zed, President Bush is gone now, he is over.

But for me he accomplished three significant things.

1. After 9/11 he took the war to the terrorists, no longer was it a legal matter, it was war.

Not one terrorist attack on US soil since then.

2. He Wiped out most of the taliban and turned Afghanistan and Pakistan into our nominal allies against islamic terroists.

3. He killed Saddam Hussein and stopped the genocide he and the batthists were waging in Iraq.

In my book, that is 3 for 3.

Tis funny. Rex supports John McCain who is a guy that came from Privledge just like Dubya. But yet He condemns a Guy who came from a Family not of Privledge but of a broken home who wasn't wealthy by John McCain's nor Dubya's standards. Me thinks Rex feels wealth and Eliteness is a sign of greatness but pulling Yourself out from a hole or from a broken Family who ain't wealthy is to be scorned. Unfunny Dat Be.

2. He Wiped out most of the taliban

You've been listening to Ann Coulter again, huh?

1.) Patently Untrue. There have been terrorist attacks upon US Soil since 9-11-01

2.)The Taliban/Al Qaeda is stronger than ever. Failure number 2 in Your qualifications.

3.) Yep He killed Saddam Hussein and stopped HIS Genocide but conducted His own genocide. Failure number 3 in Your qualifications.

Larry

Still no one comes forth and says, Hussein accomplished this and that, he fought for this and that, his freinds and allies were this person and that person.

Why?

Because you all know your sham, would be emperor, has no clothes.

You are terrified that the 20% of voters out there that are clueless to the truth will discover what a corrupt and phony shill Hussein is in the next 30 days.

I ask again, What are Husseins signature accomplishments that make him qualified to lead this nation?

Ted, I don't listen to the pundits, they listen to me.

If you have followed me for any lenght of time you know, I am the spearhead of the curb.

I don't repeat talking points, I am the genesis from which they originate.

Zeit- You seem like an intelligent person, but here's my retort to your 3.

1. The Bush Admin terribly dropped the ball regarding the events LEADING up to 9/11. There were plenty of evidence given to the Bush admin that there was a very good probability of a terroristic attack on US soil, specifically terrorists using planes as missiles.

2. Have you seen Afghanistan or Pakistan of late. The current situation is becoming worse rather than better, so I suggest you fact check the latest on those 2 countries before you are convinced they are our "nominal allies".

3. Saddam's killing was a footnote at best. He knew better not to tread with the US after he got his ass kicked in Kuwait. And beside, Saddam NEVER posed a threat to the US. Don't be naive.

In my book, you're batting .000. Bottom line, we need to control the Neocon Zionists in our country on stop supporting Israel because it's given this country nothing but problems since 1948.

"There were plenty of evidence given to the Bush admin that there was a very good probability of a terroristic attack on US soil, specifically terrorists using planes as missiles."

As I commented in this flight school www.swta.net back in the 90's, "Looks like we're training our own hijackers."

Some asshole named Atta used to rent my airplane.

Goddamn, Rex, how many fucking times do you have to post the same shit on one thread?

As for your #42 post, you and BL2 should get together; there wouldn't be any room for anyone else in the head with your two egos.

"What are Husseins signature accomplishments that make him qualified to lead this nation?"

Several obvious reasons, the primary reason being:

The idea of his being president pisses you off.

Mission accomplished.

Larry,
You need to go to a strip club and get good and drunk. That'll clear your head.

But back to the topic, actually it's Sarah(can I call you Sarah?)who is married to a terrorist, and a traitor, Todd Palin the anti-American, seccesionist.

her base will eat this crap up, but she doesn't need the base, she needs the undecideds, the moderates, unlikely these negative ads will sway this group. This has already been tried. Basically it's "bye bye" McCain!

where did she learn marketing? Comic book?

Hussein is the least qualified and most corrupt person to EVER run for the presidency.

How sad for you.

#25 | Posted by r_zeitgeist

What's really sad-rex-is you actually believe the bs you post.
It's going to take probably CENTURIES to find someone less qualified, or more corrupt than bush has been.

He's YOUR burden to bear-rex-remember that until the day you die.

What Palin said was true, Floppy hung with William Ayers, a confessed terrorist who blew up government buildings and said that he wished he could have done more. Aters helped The Appeaser to buy a house, sat on a board with him, and the terrorist, William Ayers helped start the Affirmatice Action candidates first political campaign. Libs are in denial again.

Anyway, Flop Ears will win anyway because of the economy, but I will have my revenge when I drive around on flat tires to use more gas and heat up the enviornment. If Dems get 60 in the seanate, I might do something radical.

Possible domestic terrorist (definitely a couple bricks shy of a full load in any case)

Why would Ayers, an ideologically driven radical anti-American terrorist, have devoted so much time and energy over the years to the advancement of Obama's political career?

Sime the ideological imperative is the driver in "Bomber Bill" Ayers life, could it be because Ayers views Obama as a person, who would advance Ayers' ideological objectives?

Of course, Obama has long been in the car with anti-American racist hate-mongers such as "God damn America," hate-whitey, hate Jews, Rev. Wright, and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, and grievance collectors against America such as Michelle Obama.

Why would Ayers promote Obama's political career if Ayers did not see Obama as a man advancing Ayers' political objectives?

These associations of Obama should be a cornerstone of McCain's campaign illustrated with embrace of these creatures as mentors and physically by Obama, and his emergence as a creature guided by their views.

Obama seems to be a psychopathic liar. But then, he is a politician. An analysis of his speeches with instruments designed to detect stress and truth-telling shows Obama far and above the least sincere, and McCain the most sincere.

Obama, who supports infanticide has even posted statements that he is "pro-life. yeah.

Whether Obama's behavior is attributable to psychopathy or narcissistic borderline personality disorder, is problematical. but his overwhelming narcissism is increasingly apparent.

Also, a focus of the campaign should be on Obama's brain-addled extemporaneous performances which are unfortunate life-long relics of his impairments due to his acknowledged drug use.

Obama does suffer from an addictive personality as evidenced by his chain-smoking, which has been concealed by the media, which does not display photos of him with cigarettes in his mouth that would be indicative of his addiction. With the cancer threat and heart problems due to smoking, Obama's inability to end his addiction shows poor judgment and abominably poor self-control. But he does have an oral addictive personality type. By the way, excessive smoking is a method of unconscious self-treatment by schizophrenics, who abate their conditions by this method. Obama is a seriously flawed individual. But since his black, it's all okay.

Possibly with the development of modern devices, fMRIs should be made of the candidates brains as they respond to questions to determine which systems guide their answers, and there should be measurements to determine if any functions are impaired as reflected by the size of various portions of the brain.

A drug-addled candidate self-medicating himself for schizophrenia. Hmm. Obama is the man.

Gov. Palin, continue to do your patriotic duty to expose the roots of this pal of America and American racist hate-mongers.

And he's not particularly stable either.

Why is it "low" to expose Obama for what he is rather than being "a duty" of the alert media and of course, decent and patriotic Americans, and of his opponents?

Johnson-
re: "An analysis of his speeches with instruments designed to detect stress and truth-telling shows Obama far and above the least sincere, and McCain the most sincere."

Really?

Why don't you link us to that analysis?

Obama does suffer from an addictive personality as evidenced by his chain-smoking, which has been concealed by the media, which does not display photos of him with cigarettes in his mouth that would be indicative of his addiction. Just wanted to draw your attention to this.

Tells you everything and more you might have wanted to know about JOHNSON'S so-called "BRAIN"

A drug-addled candidate self-medicating himself for schizophrenia.

Maybe you shouldn't vote for McInsane then......

this did not work in Michigan as the McCain campaign pulled out of Michigan. That state is ground zero for the collapsed Main Street economy and for so-called Reagan Democrats, those white working-class voters who were kept being told by the right that Barack Obama is a Muslim who hung with bomb-throwing radicals during his childhood in the late 1960s. being told this was useless! Good Bye McCain/Palin

Johnson you have completely lost your bearings.

Are you interested in hooking your superdeluxe brain reading gizmo to McMaverick, or would you have favored peeking in the wee little Bush brain.

Or is this device reserved for candidates of a darker hue.

I can 't believe what I am hearing !!!

I was going to vote for Obama before Sarah Pa;in went public with this declaration that Obama is paling around with and loves terrorists that hate America!!!

I only have one question for you Sarah....Why do you and your first Dude Husband belong to the Alaska Independence Party (AIP) which has consistently advocated succession from United States of America ? Are you a Fuck'in Traitor? Do you advocate succession by terrorist means if necessary?

You know on second thought... I'm still going to vote for Obama...and as for you... your fuck'in Joe 6 Pack traitor husband can fuck you in in the ass with the handle of a broken broom handle.

Oh Johnson, you armchair hack - not all smokers are schizo, not to mention the schizos that don't smoke, but that's a nice regurgitation of a half a truth. Shall we talk about sitting presidents who toot the midnight train or believe God cured them of alcoholism?

Meanwhile, for the Troll who has everyone going, I hereby denounce your silly claim that Obama is unaccomplished or that it is never brought up.

A quick google search for "Obama Accomplishments" offers up plenty, but off the top of my head:

1) Reduced the world nuke arsenal while working with Sen Lugar, admittedly one of the easier Republicans to work with.

2) Succeeded in efforts of welfare reform, health care expansion, ethics reform while working with Wisconsin's Russ Feingold, in short, issues that matter to voters.

3) Exhibits rational forethought and calm in the midst of crisis, such as his call on the Iraq war (whether you agree or not is irrelevent, the point is, history, the nation and the world believe him right).

4) And here's one I hear frequently discounted - He leads. Whether you think he's the anti-christ or not, he sure gets the crowds going. I've seen it firsthand, so don't try any of that "free beer" BS. Even Hillary had to cordon off the crowds at her stop in my town, to keep them together for "crowd shots". Obama had to move his to a bigger venue, and it was a pretty diverse crowd. Despite the Limbaugh set, a LOT of Republicans are voting blue this year, not just because McCain is a twit, but because they actually trust Obama. Even if he does turn out to be Satan, that's a nice change of pace from what we've been having for the past gazillion years. It's been a long time since we've had someone who makes the majority of us feel good about America's government.

Really though, I think you are looking at this the wrong way. Obama could be Bill the freaking Cat and AMerica would vote for him, because at the end of the day, it is just too obvious to most folks that the McCain ticket is just asking for it all to come crashing down. It's a circus sideshow, andI think, at last, America has had it's fill of circus sideshows. We're like a college kid who just realized all the partying ends in flunking out. So it's not like the bar is very high this year. Old politics is dead.

I'll conclude by saying I come from Madison, where I frequently buy a sandwich from a guy that was convicted of blowing up a UW building in the hippie years. Does this make me a terrorist sympathizer?

online.wsj.com

Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

AP
Bill Ayers.
The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama's first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers's home.

The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just "a guy who lives in my neighborhood," and "not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis." Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC. Those archives are housed in the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago and I've recently spent days looking through them.

The Obama campaign has cried foul when Bill Ayers comes up, claiming "guilt by association." Yet the issue here isn't guilt by association; it's guilt by participation. As CAC chairman, Mr. Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. That is a story even if Mr. Ayers had never planted a single bomb 40 years ago.

ANAMERICAN

So you are arguing Obama is a bomb-throwing radical? If you aren't, then all you are arguing is guilt by association.

To hell with the emptiness of the modern Republican Party. Go Obama.

1988 Ayers solicits Khalid Al-Mansour to raise money for Obama's Harvard law School education

1989 Tom Ayers and William Ayers get Obama a summer job at Sidley & Austin (where he meets Michelle Obama); Ayers' wife Bernadine Dohrn also worked at Sidley at about the same time as Barack and Michelle.

1993 Ayers places Obama on Woods Foundation

1995 Ayers makes Obama Chairman of Annenberg Challenge

1995 Ayers hosts a coffee klatch for Obama's political debut (Obama falsely claims this is when he met Ayers)

2007-2008 The structure of Obama's presidential campaign increasingly comes to resemble an Ayers-designed national "community organizer matrix" straight out of Maoist theory. This is not merely a presidential "campaign." Obama's organization is the first installment of an ongoing movement being paid for with tax-exempt contributions to his campaign, approaching half a billion dollars.

2008 Obama In response to ABC News, Obama tells a national TV audience he was "six years old" when Ayers bombed federal buildings, and they are only casual neighborhood acquaintances. A lie.

Even though we have finally started piecing the puzzle together, we continue to investigate. For example, where in Chicago did Barack Obama live in 1985-1988? Help if you have an address.

WHY THE SECRECY ABOUT OBAMA'S COLLEGE RECORDS?

(NEW YORK, NY)(September 12, 2008) Barack Obama had
the wrong calling. Instead of being a "community organizer" he should have joined the CIA. Obama knows how to cover his tracks. He could be called the "clandestine candidate."

Obama spent two years at Columbia University yet left virtually no fingerprints of his presence there. Could that be because Columbia was where Mr. Obama first met "mad bomber" William Ayers?

Obama has also refused to release his Columbia University transcripts. What secrets lurk there? Likewise for Occidental College where he attended for two years. What is he trying to hide? I arrived in the Columbia area to study theology at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine shortly after Obama had left, so I know the neighborhood well. I have gone back to retrace were he might have been. No luck. No footprints, either.

What has Obama's past behavior over the past four years taught me? When Obama is hiding something he is hiding something.

Is it just a coincidence that Obama and Ayers were on the Columbia campus together? Did they meet and make their initial contact at that time? Had Obama been turned on to Ayers by Frank Marshall Davis? Was there a Khalid Al-Mansour and William Ayers connection during this early period. Questions, questions. But no answers from Mr. Obama.

ANAMERICAN

Everything you post is just silly. And will be until you tell us what crime you think Obama committed.

The fact that Obama has crated a void concerning his college years, after claiming in his own book he went to New York to study in an urban environment, makes me queasy. Did he find what he was looking for in New York? What did he find? Who did he find? Blank.

What is Obama hiding?

No major party nominee for the presidency has led a life with, pardon the expression, black holes at crucial points in his life. Why was Obama invisible at Columbia? What would his college transcripts show? Why are the mainstream media tiptoeing away from any searching examination of Obama's college years?

The Wall Street Journal speculated that Obama is concealing that he received racial preferences and obtained his degree through affirmative action. Why wouldn't Obama want to put that theory to rest by releasing his college records?

ANAMERICAN

What crime?

While Obama's minions obviously want to vet Sarah Palin's past, he has precluded any vetting of his own peculiar history. He claims in his own words that he went to Columbia to find a black experience, and then says virtually nothing about those experiences.

Another Weatherman terrorist a player in Obama campaign

Communists, socialists, anarchists also part of political organization

"One of the main founders of the Weathermen terrorist organization is a signatory to an independent organization acting to ensure the election of Sen. Barack Obama, WND has learned.

The group in question, Progressives for Obama, also includes among its ranks many former members of the 1960s radical organization Students for a Democratic Society, from which the Weathermen splintered, as well as current and former members of other radical organizations, such as the Communist Party USA and the Black Radical Congress.

In its creed, first published in March in the Nation magazine, the Progressives for Obama founders state their organization descended from the "proud tradition of independent social movements that have made America a more just and democratic country." "

"Among the signatories and endorsers to Progressives for Obama is Mark Rudd, one of the main founders of the Weathermen terrorist organization. Rudd worked closely for years with Weathermen terrorist William Ayers, whose association with Obama has generated controversy for the presidential candidate.

Rudd originally was a top member of the Students for a Democratic Society, or SDS, leading the famed 1968 Columbia University strikes in which hundreds of students seized several university buildings. He also served as spokesman for the strikes, attracting international media attention.

In 1968, Rudd traveled with the SDS to Cuba, defying U.S. travel bans, where he says he was heavily influenced by the legacy of Che Guevara and by Cuban-style revolution. When he returned to the U.S., Rudd advocated for Columbia's chapter of the SDS to carry out militant, aggressive action, but he was turned down. "

So that brings me to Madeleine and her famous quote, "there's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women." I completely agree; united we rise, divided we fall kind of idea. Former Secretary of State and New York Times bestselling author Madeleine Albright really hits it on the head with her willingness to tell it like it is.

Women have to be active listeners and interruptersbut when you interrupt, you have to know what you are talking about. I also think it is important for women to help one another. I have a saying: There is a special place in hell for women who don't.

So you're in effect agreeing with him, lack of candor aside, that Obama hasn't been fully vetted?

I don't think you can have it both ways. You either agree that there are holes in his history that are worthy of investigation, or you believe that since it wasn't done with Bush that it's acceptable to ignore with Obama.

I guess that there's a third option, that you think there are no gaps in Obama's history. But if that is the case, I'm not sure I understand why you wouldn't rather have said so instead of bringing up the lack of vetting with respect to W. That just comes off as a deflection.

So you're in effect agreeing with him

No not at all. I was pointing out that his statement "No major party nominee for the presidency has led a life with, pardon the expression, black holes at crucial points in his life." was in fact BOGUS.

First of all Zap, if you followed the links you would notice that this was not my statement. Second, what black hole in Bush's history was not revealed to your satisfaction?

Why are you more concerned with the background the vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin

Simply Obama has been under a microscope for some time now Sarah, not so much.

Wow, I messed up #116.

Why are you more concerned with the background "of" of the vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin while you justify the "burying" of background information on the presidential nominee?

Zap, why don't you insist Obama release his college records? They are relevant to those years we know nothing about - the years that led to his elevation to politics.

So Sarah is 44 and Obama is 48, and Ayers was doing this stuff when she was 4 and Obama was 8.

That's what she means. Let's examine her friends when she was 4.

Dumb and desperate doesn't start to describe this woman and her ancient maverdick running mate.

Sitdown, you are about as dumb as Obama. No one is saying that Obama had anything to do during Ayer's bombing years. It's his association with Ayers in Chicago after Obama became an adult.

Zap, why don't you insist Obama release his college records?

In declaring Obama's terrorist connection, I guess Palin is declaring war with the liberal media too: who have been minimizing or glossing over the unflattering portion of Obama's (and Biden's errors) background, while digging and exaggerating every dirt they could find on Palin.

The fact that so much vitriol coming from the left indicates they are both terribly angry and terribly frustrated at Palin for pulling the rug from under Obama's feet.

Palin is more qualified than Obama as far as executive experience is concerned, yet the liberal media is relentlessly pounding on Palin as unqualified. Evidence.

TAKITEZ -

Palin's right up your alley.

She says women who don't support other women are going to Hell.

Evidence.

Verdict: False. There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now "palling around," or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are.

politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com

blog.laborfair.com

Madeline Albright says it and she is praised. Go figure....

When did he first meet Ayers? That would be interesting to know. We do know that Obama worked closely with Ayers in Chicago.

The "missing years" that Anamerican referred were covered in detail by CNN. CNN did an hour and a half on both Obama and McCain. More flattering to McCain, btw. Since the subject is Obama, CNN went back and talked to the people Obama worked with while he was a Community Organizer. They went over what he did, how people felt about his work, etc.

As to Bush's gaps - there were so many. He was protected, records purged, and even protected from Jury Duty by Gonzales so information wouldn't come out.

The "guilt by association" is a complete logical fallacy - and unfortunately, as evidenced here, it works for some. The question is, does it really work, or does it only "justify" a previously held position?

Past experience indicates it can work - if not countered immediately and forcefully.

We do know that Obama worked closely with Ayers in Chicago.

worked closely with

Wrong premise, wrong conclusion. You don't "know" anything, so you're qualification of the alleged relationship can't be inferred.

Ayers hosted a fundraising event in his home for Obama, and liberals are conveneintly forgetting to mention that. Evidence.

So a "close working relationship" can be inferred from anyone that hosts a fund raising event?

Be careful if you want to go down that path. Think before you speak.

It's clear Takitez gets an "F" in the homework department.

He might want to check out www.nytimes.com

But, then again, probably not: It would force him to adjust his set-in-concrete prejudices.

Ayers hosted a fundraising event in his home for Obama,

BTW, there was no fund raising at Ayer's house.

There was a big anti-Obama thing hanging on a refrigerator at work the other day. Someone actually printed it up, brought it in to work, and hung it up where they knew a lot of people would see it. All it was is a picture of him with no lapel pin and he commiting the high crime of facing a flag without his hand over his heart. There was a ton of bullshit accusations like this all over it. I wnet and got a big red marker and in front of about 30 people wrote "ALSO, HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT HE'S A BIG BLACK NIGGER!!!" across it. It was gone a few hours later when I went in and checked on it. Just stop beating around the bush, folks.

Many of the "new" independents who I know became independents because they were totally disenchanted by this administration yet weren't willing to go over to the Democrat side. This kind of attack will play well with the Repub base. I really believe, however, that it will turn off most independents. It really sounds like Repubs have given up on getting the votes of independents.

With every national election, independents are playing a bigger role, even a deciding one. Will be interesting to see how this election turns out. For sure, if Obama loses, it will be because he blundered badly, not because Republicans made a good case for their side.

This is one of the stupidest arguments anyone can make. The most common way to discredit someone that disagrees with you politicaly is by calling them a "Terrorist". It is the new "Catch Word' for the 21st Centry. Lets think of a few others, MLK was called a Commie and the most dangerious man in America by the FBI. Few people today would deny the time they spent with him or his influence on them. Mandela was impressoned for 25 years by the White Government of Africa. Few people would deny being influenced by him today. Gandi was impressoned by the English and concidered a traitor. Yet today we concider him a "Great Leader" And the list goes on and on. Anybody that believes that America has not had, in the past, and does not have, today, political prisoners is just basicly stupid. If Ayers or anyone from the Viet Nam War Era is still concidered "A Terrorist" then why are they not still in prison. Ninty-nine point nine percent of the people involved in the "Protest Movements" never commited a crime other than exercising their right to protest. It is a sad state of affairs when a person can drop bombs from the airand kill thousands of innocent civilans and be concidered a "Patriot" as McCain was, but if someone thinks, or plans or does blowing up an empty building then they are concidered a criminal for the rest of their life. Having an different political point of view forty years ago does not mean that a person can never again be a useful part of society.

Since WWII the USA has trained, armed and equiped every known terrorist group and Despot in the world. Who do you think provided the guns money and training for the Talaban when they were fighting the Russians? Hell, We created the Talaban just to fight the Russians. Not to mention Castro in Cuba and most of the "Freedom Fighters Turned Dictators" in South and Central America.

When you start throwing the term "Terrorist" around you better check out our countries history first. There you will find the "Glorious" government of the USA right down in the muck with the very worst or the worst.

What are the Red State blogs saying? About half applaud Palin going after Obama's blood anyway she can. The other half takes her strategy as an admission the Republicans have already lost.

i love the smell of desperation in the morning.

The more centered Red Staters ask when McCain will tell people something they can hold onto about their financial condition, because that's what thay want and what they're asking for.

The less centered Red Staters always seem to reply with some version of "Let them eat cake".

Sounds like shades of Hitler to me:

Hitler was a highly influential speaker...VERY intelligent, and he knew what his audience wanted to hear. Watch any of the Nazi propaganda movies (Leni Riefenstahl is a perfect example) and you'll see what Germans saw daily. They were desperate for a leader, and Hitler gave them what they wanted to hear.

The lowest 'cell' Hitler controlled was the family. It was easy. Young boys and girls (all of them) attended Hitlerjugend and Bund Deutscher Maedel, which were associations for teenagers, where they could meet in their spare time. For example, they made trips together and did sports and whatever. And they learned the propaganda from very young age.

So, when they came home, they were happy (hell, Hitler gave them a great time and adventures and so on), and they liked Hitler. Their parents couldn't talk openly about their doubts - the kids would have run straight to their 'leaders'.. In fact, they got a reward, if they ratted out their parents! And many kids did, never knowing that they brought their parents in danger.

So, this problem was solved. But what if adults met, without kids? There were 'Blockwaerte' for that, people who had once been hated and shunned by the others and now suddenly got power over let's say 100 people - they were able to call the police and report 'suspicious' behaviour. Can you imagine which parts revenge and mistrust played in this game?

I think you're pretty much reinforcing my point, ANAMERICAN---Serious adults are looking for serious adults to help them with serious adult problems and you bring up Hitler.

Exactly how it that a statement for serious adults, Zed. Sounds like a threat that one would expect from a Hitler type leader or follower.

Back on topic:

Barack Obama was much older than 8 when William Ayers was photographed stepping on a US flag in 2001, for an article in which Ayers said he had "No Regrets" for his violent actions in the Weather Underground.

In fact, at the same time Ayers was in a Chicago alley desecrating the flag, he and Barack Obama were serving on the board of the Woods Fund together.

You're as literal minded as a child.

Off with his head!

Frankly, I see Obama as Hitler reincarnated. Except its not just the Jews he hates. Its white people, too. He's been taught this for over 20 years.

Evidence: Obama loved Jeremiah Wright until the public learned Wright's anti-white and anti-American views. Wright's admiration of the biggest Jew and white hater of them all - Louis Fararkhan - is especially troubling.

Sorry, Obama distanced himself from Wright solely because he learned it would hurt him politically.

"Frankly, I see Obama as Hitler reincarnated."

Would somebody please buy that man a history book?

You've denigrated from guilt by association to guilt by association's association.

"Would somebody please buy this man a history book....?"

As the rightwing has pointed out time and again, Obama has been running for president for two years, including the numerous primary battles which secured him the Democratic nomination. He's been vetted by the press and the public (voters) for that entire time.

Palin arrived on the national scene a little more than a month with no vetting at the national level.

anamerican, your arguments would be more powerful if they weren't so obviously talking points.

Hillary Clinton was the one who questioned Obama's warm ties with terrorist Ayer. Bill Ayer has never repented of his hatred for America and he still owes a national apology to Americans.

Ayer is unrepentant. Credible people think Obama owes a better explanation of his ties with Ayer.

A solid campaign issue.

First of all, who is on the top of their ticket, truth? Obama or Palin?

In all the "vetting" of Obama, his supporters just brush it off as a "so what?". He denouces his negative past and associates and it is forgotten and forgiven by his supporters. Its truly amazing.

really sad, all McCain has is these outdated "hits", these were tried and failed in Michigan, also failing in Ohio. go ahead, keep sticking to failing talking points. fail elsewhere as well, Good Luck!

Palin is just destroying her own credibility! Have fun!

Birds of a feather flock together. This is a true statement. This is not smear nor using guilt by association, as Democratic strategists like to blame Republicans whenever the McCain Campaign brings out the truth. Jessie James did not hang around with nuns and monks. Billie the Kid did not surround himselfs with the likes of Lewis and Clark. The Dalton Brothers were not Masons, nor admirers of the reigning Pope of their time. Barack Obama is not attempting for beatification with his Kill The Unborn Doctrine, nor his other one, And If They Are Accidently Born During An Abortion, Let Them Die Anyhow. The truth hurts, but it is the truth.
In 1992 another man that arrived at the White House with his promises of change, stained the Oval Office with one of his changes forever. In January 2009, a man of honor and integrity must, for the good of the Nation, occupy that beautiful buiding at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Men and Women of True Honor And True Integrity, know who that man is.

All of you "newspeak" people seem to be denying that Ayers was a domestic terrorist, and that the organization he founded was devoted to and did kill Americans in furtherance of the terrorist ideology that Ayers still supports. In fact, he believes that his then girl friend should be identified as a hero as she died when mishandling a bomb designed to kill a couple of hundred American noncoms at a party at Ft. Dix.

It's interesting that American leftists identify with such base people, and make icons out of such vile individuals as Chairman Mao, who killed hundreds of millions of people as he pursued personal power using ideology as his vehicle, and Che Guevera, another beastly subhuman, who also delighted in killing people and disrupting provident and constructive activity.

Why are lefties attracted to such individuals? Ayers, Mao, Che, all dedicated to breaking down, catabolism, and ignoring the constructive and balancing aspect of metabolism, which is anabolism. What's with you guys that you are so hateful toward the society that has nurtured you and has provided a better life for more people than any in the history of mankind. You seem to be sado-masochists by nature. Hate. Hate. Hate seems to be your oft repeated byword.

And now the lefties, who seem to be attracted to "the cult of the personality," are idolizing Obama with T-shirts, and with his image also on other clothing, posters, and the like.

Obma is a protege of Ayers, who knows him well, and has worked to advance Obama's political career. Now why would a person driven by ideology as Ayers is, provide such dedicated support to Obama? The reasonable answer is that he believes, and undoubtedly rightfully so, that Obama will advance Ayers' ideological preferences. After all, Obama was nurtured for some 20 years by hate-mongering racists, who preach "God damn America," hate whitey and hate Jews, such Obama mentors as Rev. Wright, and Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan.

Why would you support a man, who associated with and is guided by totalitarian hate-mongers, who hate you and want to do you harm?

Is there a rationale, or are you just mind-dead people, who don't activate any rational process in your thinking? What is it that emotionally attracts you to a person so steeped in hatred for so long?

Anybody else see the Sarah Palin picture with all of the vikings from the Capital One Commercial. there is a picture of her in animal skins with her friends. It's outrageous. Notice they don't show her house. Because it's covered with dead animals.

From the New York Times:
"It's against this backdrop that Palin's public pronouncements, culminating with her debate performance, have been so striking. The standard take has it that she's either speaking utter ignorant gibberish (as to Couric) or reciting highly polished, campaign-written sound bites that she's memorized (as at the convention and the debate). But there's a steady unnerving undertone to Palin's utterances, a consistent message of hubristic self-confidence and hyper-ambition. She wants to be president, she thinks she can be president, she thinks she will be president. And perhaps soon. She often sounds like someone who sees herself as half-a-heartbeat away from the presidency. Or who is seen that way by her own camp, the hard-right G.O.P. base that never liked McCain anyway and views him as, at best, a White House place holder."

I agree with that assessment, in the sense that in this mental hubris she is very much like Katherine Harris.

Johnson wrote:
"Obma [sic] is a protege of Ayers, who knows him well, and has worked to advance Obama's political career. "

You must have more information than anyone in the press, since there has been no evidence whatsoever to indicate Ayers knows Obama "well," in addition to working to advance his political career.

Link?

Talk about "mind-dead"!
Johnson's 170 and 171 posts spout hyperbole as fact. But what can one expect of the 2008 Right-wing, when their champions McCain and Palin can do no better?

I had no idea until recently Republicans found the Weather Underground so sexy.

"Birds of a feather flock together...."

Whenever I point out Palin is on the record providing support to the American Independence Party some McCainiac lectures me on the positive aspects of seccession.

This one?

Sarah was addressing the 2007 Little Norway Festival in Petersburg, Alaska.

She claims that she doesn't wear furt and that the fur coat she wore in those shots was merely borrowed for the event from someone named Caryn Flint.

So despite her personal conviction to not wear fur she still was enuff of a pol to know that it would go over well fer that crowd.

Who knows... maybe she's not really a wingnutty talibaptist biatch after all.

Maybe she just plays one on tv.

Maybe we got her all wrong.

Maybe when she was talking about all that "no fur philosophy" of hers she was just referring to her recent Brazilian wax?

Be Well.

As I am writting this, I am looking at Sen. Claire McCaskill from the State of Missouri on Fox, trying to defend Obama's relationship with Ayers because Obama was only 8 years old when Ayers was on the lose. What about Rev. Wright and his church, Sen. McCaskill? Oh, I get it! America does not know yet that the true name of that church was the Church of The Good Neighbor, and that when the good reverend dammned America, he issued his own holy edict and exempted the State of Missouri from the curse. Senator, the pales of water which you are carrying for Obama are leaking, big time.

MRRETALIATION---

I can assure you you'll only get so far attacking a man through his religion. It makes the religous nervous. People start to reflect they themselves are Jews and Mormons and whatnot.

My God the Right is rabid tonight. It appears to be the same everywhere. Too bad it doesn't look like it's going anywhere this time.

I find this guilt-by-association thing very dull. It reminds me of the huge hoohah Republicans made four years ago when it was discovered McCain's picture currently hangs in a Vietnamese museum.

Of course, that's when McCain was considered muy malo; God Bush was to be annointed and John couldn't be allowed to stand in his way.

Bill Ayer should release an apology indicating his remorse for being a domestic terrorist. And instaed of hiding behind pious statements, Obama should declare fully how Ayer helped him in his career.

Then the issue will be resolved. Until then, it will haunt Obama till November 4 and beyond.

A legitimate issue. This time Obama cannot hide behind the bias of the liberal media, most of whom have been carrying water for him.

"Bill Ayer should release an apology indicating his remorse for being a domestic terrorist. "

He can do that after McCain's terrorist pal Oliver North apologizes for all the Nicaraguans that were murdered with weapons supplied by him.

Again, so it's wrong to condemn a leftist douchebag because right-wing douchebags exist and will always exist?

Essentially, what you are saying is that lefty douchebags are not to be condemned.

Yes it IS wrong for a righty to condemn a lefties supposed bad people as friends because the right has them too but yet they don't condemn their own people. Like Drunk Driving I lost the right to condemn anyone for Drunk Driving when I first got behind the wheel when I was drunk. Capisce??

Larry

I know you right wing nutjobs really believe the Ayers thing is a huge story. And that we should all be very interested. And it must really piss you off that nobody outside your own choir gives a crap.

How frustrating for you.

Oh and it works both ways JeffJ. A lefty can't condemn a righty until He starts cleaning up His own backyard.

Larry

"The fact that Oliver North is a douchebag absolves Ayers of his wrongdoings?"

The point is: those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

p.s. North isn't a "douchebag". He is a terrorist. Far more so than Bill Ayers.

The point is: those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

So, as long as right-wing douchebags exist it is wrong to condemn left-wing douchebags?

That's stupid.

Furthermore, is McCain buddies with O. North?

"Furthermore is McCain buddies with O. North....?

Who's whose buddies? The Republican Party as 3rd Grade social relations.

Thanks to terrorist Oliver North:

"But despite the efforts of the White House PR machine, the Contras increasingly appeared to be a particularly ruthless and bloodthirsty bunch. Stories of atrocities against civilian noncombatants certainly didn't help. In the words of human rights group Americas Watch, "the Contras systematically engage in violent abuses ... so prevalent that these may be said to be their principle means of waging war." Another NGO compiled a year's worth of Contra atrocities, which included murder, rape, torture, maiming children, cutting off arms, cutting out tongues, gouging out eyes, castration, bayoneting pregnant women in the stomach, and amputating genitals. "

Is there any doubt that Palin and McCain have some loathsome acquaintances? I didn't know it was possible to get through life without acquiring one or two.

You certainly didn't lose the capability to talk about right from wrong. In fact, someone like you who had commited the crime can often have a much greater impact than I would, for instance, when imploring people to not drink & drive.

Now, when you address this Ayers thing with the Right, almost the first thing they say is it must be drawing blood because you want to talk to them about it.

Of course, they also think it's drawing blood if you won't talk to them about it.

"Furthermore, is McCain buddies with O. North?"

Oliver North endorses McCain and the endorsement is--or was--celebrated on McCain's website.

"So, as long as right-wing douchebags exist it is wrong to condemn left-wing douchebags?

That's stupid. You're missing the point. There's a double standard here. A lot of talk about Bill Ayers in the MSM, and nothing about Oliver North, or McCain's other creepy pal, G. Gordon Libby.

That's stupid.

Furthermore, is McCain buddies with O. North?

In her character attack, Palin questions Obama's association with William Ayers, a member of the Vietnam-era Weather Underground. Her reference was exaggerated at best if not outright false. No evidence shows they were "pals" or even close when they worked on community boards years ago and Ayers hosted a political event for Obama early in his career.

Obama, who was a child when the Weathermen were planting bombs, has denounced Ayers' radical views and actions.

What would make you rethugs happy? Having Obama send him to Gitmo?

I am sorry..YOU ARE BOTH STUPID...(no offense to YOU Nulli cause I know you mean well!)

But, you letting yourselves be sucked into this Rovian "Black Hole" that has nothing to do with what really matters.

IT'S THE ISSUES!

You are being deflected with the best deflection tactic that Karl Rove can come up with. And it is crunch time so THEY are getting desperate.

AND you (I say YOU because I have had ENOUGH!) are falling for it all over again.

But since you did I one thing to say about it... did you know that Ayers and his CAC was attempting to "confront issues of inequity, war, and violence" by peaceful means instead of bombing shit? Why are we even thinking about condemning Obama for being involved in this effort?

Finally-I for one really do understand what Ayers means when he said "he did not do enough".

Wake up America!

IT IS THE ECONOMY STUPID!

(sorry for shouting)

Correction- But(,) since you did I (have) one thing to say about it.. (damn it!)

McCain Camp Touts Ollie North Endorsement

Is McCain pleased to receive North's endorsement, given the fact that the failed GOP senatorial candidate was convicted in 1989 of shredding documents, accepting an illegal gratuity and aiding and abetting in the obstruction of Congress?

voices.washingtonpost.com

Let me know when Obama touts Ayer's endorsement.

Good find, Yav. I was looking for that. The right can go for months about Bill Ayers, and yet any mention of Oliver North, and they--like JeffJ--start whining like girlie boys.

DONNERBOY is right---The Repuplicans have nothing, nothing at all, so they are reduced to this.

Just count blessings---Obama could have a war record they could exhibit their respect for veterans in relation to.

i suppose with endorsements like these we'd be more appealing to the masses. woe is u.s.

But Ollie North was a hero!

Gordon Liddy was a hero!

They loved their country also!

Not like Obama also because he also doesn't look like you and me!

Obama should simply point out the fact that the true terrorist is Sara 'Secessionist' Palin who has traitorous views towards the sovereignty of the Nation.

Perhaps the Lipsticked Pig should find another country if America is so bad that she want to secede from it.

You must have missed this part of the article:

This morning the McCain campaign helpfully circulated a column Oliver North had penned in the Washington Times, extolling the senator's virtues, under the heading "In Case You Missed It: Oliver North on John McCain." The e-mail made a point of pulling out the key laudatory quote and placing it in bold, making it even easier for reporters to read: "Neither John McCain, nor anyone in his campaign asked me to write this column. But I cannot sit silently while my fellow conservatives do to John McCain what GOP 'moderates' did to me. Today, the stakes for our country are far higher, the implications for the future far greater than who sits in one of 100 U.S. Senate seats. Now, our nation is at war against a vicious foe. We need a president who has proven how to win it.

But let's not call that "touting."

It was perfect though. A "victim" defending a "victim." It doesn't get any more GOP than that.

Just as Obama didn't tout or condemn Farakhan's endorsement.

Short and selective memory?

"I have been very clear in my denunciation" of Farrakhan's history of anti-Semitic remarks, Obama said at the Democratic debate in Cleveland, "I did not solicit his support." Obama said he "can not censor" individual endorsements but said there is no affiliation with his campaign and Farrakhan. "I can't say to somebody that he can't say that he thinks I'm a good guy," Obama said, citing his support among Jewish Americans and stating that he would make it a priority to soothe historically tense ties between the African-American and Jewish communities in the nation. "I have some of the strongest support from the Jewish community in my hometown of Chicago and in this campaign," he said, describing himself as a "stalwart" on supporting Israel.

Sen. Hillary Clinton suggested Obama's comments weren't good enough, citing her own record of rejecting controversial support in her 2000 Senate bid. "There's a difference between denouncing and rejecting," she countered, "And I made it very clear that I did not want their support, I rejected it," she said, "I would not be associated with people" that make such comments.

Obama quickly responded. "I'm happy to concede the point and I would reject and denounce," he said. "Good, good," replied Clinton

Where's McCain's denunciation?
Where's McCain's rejection of money from Liddy?

NY Times Confirms Ayers' Role in Obama Appointment as Chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge

I can easily understand why some readers may have become confused by the explosion of stories today on the Obama/Ayers relationship.

The partial story of the Ayers/Obama relationship told by the New York Times today is collapsing of its own weight but has likely added to the confusion. Since I am one of the "bloggers" referred to without an explanation in the Times' story I thought I would summarize the top ten highlights of the current state of play.

It turns out as these ten key points confirm what I have argued all along - that Bill Ayers was responsible for the elevation of Obama to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge board and the New York Times reporting on this story actually supports my conclusion, though inadvertently.

Go to the link to read the ten key points.

A "victim" defending a "victim." It doesn't get any more GOP than that.

#217 | Posted by YAV

I find this comment humorous as it's the Democratic party that has insitutionalized a perpetual state of victimhood.

Short and selective memory?

Short. I hadn't realized that Obama dissed Farrakhan in any way. I stand corrected on this one.

From Anamerican's link:

Ten six of the ten points are "no really, they did know each other"

And then finally this:

"Thus, while Ayers may not have suggested the Obama name directly to Leff, only Ayers could approve of the appointment of Obama. No one else possessed the legal power to do so."

YAWN.

Six of the ten

Former Hillary Clinton strategist Howard Wolfson on "It's Over: Why Bill Ayers Won't Save John McCain" . . .

Bill Ayers isn't going to save John McCain. The race is over...John McCain's candidacy is as much a casualty of Wall Street as Lehman or Merrill...

Why won't the swiftboat tactics work this year?

Its easy to lose sight of it in the day to day coverage, but the collapse of Wall Street in the last weeks was a seminal event in the history of our nation and our politics. To put the crisis in perspective, Americans have lost a combined 1 trillion dollars in net worth in just the last four weeks alone. Just as President Bush's failures in Iraq undermined his party's historic advantage on national security issues, the financial calamity has shown the ruinous implications of the Republican mania for deregulation and slavish devotion to totally unfettered markets.

Republicans and Democrats have been arguing over the proper role of government for a century. In 1980 voters sided with Ronald Reagan and Republicans that government had become too big and intrusive. Then the economy worked in the Republicans' favor. Today the pendulum has swung in our direction. Republican philosophies have been discredited by events. Voters understand this. This is a big election about big issues. McCain's smallball will not work. This race will not be decided by lipsticked pigs. And John McCain can not escape that reality. The only unknowns are the size of the margin and the breadth of the Democratic advantage in the next Congress.

Close-up on juvenile justice
Author, former offender among speakers

By Jennifer Vanasco
News Office

Children who kill are called "super predators," "people with no conscience," "feral pre-social beings" -- and "adults."

William Ayers, author of A Kind and Just Parent: The Children of Juvenile Court (Beacon Press, 1997), says "We should call a child a child. A 13-year-old who picks up a gun isn't suddenly an adult. We have to ask other questions: How did he get the gun? Where did it come from?"

Ayers, who spent a year observing the Cook County Temporary Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago, is one of four panelists who will speak on juvenile justice at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the C-Shop. The panel, which marks the 100th anniversary of the juvenile justice system in the United States, is part of the Community Service Center's monthly discussion series on issues affecting the city of Chicago. The event is free and open to the public.

Ayers will be joined by Sen. Barack Obama, Senior Lecturer in the Law School, who is working to combat legislation that would put more juvenile offenders into the adult system; Randolph Stone, Director of the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic; Alex Correa, a reformed juvenile offender who spent seven years in Cook County Temporary Detention Center; Frank Tobin, a former priest and teacher at the Detention Center who helped Correa; and Willy Baldwin, who grew up in public housing and is currently a teacher at the Detention Center.

The juvenile justice system was founded by Chicago reformer Jane Addams, who advocated the establishment of a separate court system for children which would act like a "kind and just parent" for children in crisis.

One hundred years later, the system is "overcrowded, under-funded, over-centralized and racist," Ayers said.

Michelle Obama, Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of the University Community Service Center, hopes bringing issues like this to campus will open a dialogue between members of the University community and the broader community.

"Students and faculty explore these issues in the classroom, but it is an internal conversation," Obama said. "We know that issues like juvenile justice impact the city of Chicago, this nation and -- directly or indirectly -- this campus. This panel gives students a chance to hear about the juvenile justice system not only on a theoretical level, but from the people who have experienced it."

Here is a good one of the Hitler (I mean Obama) Youth Corps doing their "pledge to Obama." Notice the military type uniform. Youth Corps And Similar Tactics were used By others including, the Hitler Youth, the Young Pioneers of the former Soviet Union, and the propaganda of North Korea.

Continue through this election with you eyes wide shut and you will not like the "new" America. Why do you think we can not get Obama to talk about his past relationship in the "community orginizer" community? If America really knew the depth of Obama's connections to radicalism his campaign would fall off the map.

I wonder if the main stream media will be as happy with Obama after he shuts down every new outlet in America that disagrees with his radical views.

www.youtube.com

-Naturally, you'll have no problem providing proof that Obama actually organized these guys, right?

Mutt, eh? What else would you expect from a lying dog. Besides sleep.

There is no proof Obama organized these guys. However, their inspiration might be found in Obama's plan.

Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas. They plan to herd American youth into government-funded reeducation camps where they'll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of "social change."

The pitch Public Allies makes on its Web site doesn't seem all that radical. It promises to place young adults (18-30) in paid one-year "community leadership" positions with nonprofit or government agencies. They'll also be required to attend weekly training workshops and three retreats.

In exchange, they'll get a monthly stipend of up to $1,800, plus paid health and child care. They also get a post-service education award of $4,725 that can be used to pay off past student loans or fund future education.

But its real mission is to radicalize American youth and use them to bring about "social change" through threats, pressure, tension and confrontation the tactics used by the father of community organizing, Saul "The Red" Alinsky.

More Obama connections...

There is a far-reaching scandal brewing for presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, thanks to a radio talk show host based in Oregon. Syndicated talk show host Laurie Roth's revelations make the news story about Obama's relationship with a racist, anti-American pastor look like child's play.

A top official at the Pentagon during former-President George H. W. Bush's Administration and a former CIA intelligence officer maintain that Barack Obama and former Weather Underground honcho William Ayers funneled money to Professor Rashid Khalidi, a known terrorist sympathizer.

Khalidi serves on the faculty of Columbia University in New York and is best known as the professor who invited Iranian President Ahmedinejad to visit Columbia University after he finished his speech at the United Nations. According to confidential sources, Khalidi has direct ties to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), a group on the US State Department's list of known terrorist groups.

You made the claim, Muttsy. You prove it. Or stfu.

From Mutt's link:

"One source for this information was once a top military figure in the 1990s."

Who? Oh, right, not important.

"If he says something happened, believe me, it happened," said syndicated radio talk show host Laurie Roth.

Okeedohkee, if you say so, Laurie, that's good enough for me.

"Another source is a former agent for the Central Intelligence Agency, who is an expert in counterterrorism," said Roth...

Who? Oh, right, not important.

Here are the connections as described by very reliable sources, who possess impressive military, national security and intelligence backgrounds:

Then the fairy tale begins.

Who are these "very reliable sources, who possess impressive military, national security and intelligence backgrounds"? Well, we just don't know, do we?

Why'd they go to Laurie Roth, self-described "Annie Oakley of the airwaves" who appears on twenty-seven---count 'em, folks, twenty-seven---stations instead of someone who could give them more coverage that Laurie and Mutt?

This crapfest reminds me of B-1 Bob Dornan's rants linking Bill Clinton with the KGB.

I'd ask why some people actually seem to believe this bullshit, but all I have to do is reread Richard Hofstadter's "The Paranoid Style in American Politics" for a refresher course.

The Right is certainly shooting a lot of blanks these days, for which there's an upside: They've still got plenty of hot air but they just can't quite generate the same amount of steampower as in days of yore.

Palin for wanting to secede from the Union and band belonging to the AIP in Alaska. And condoning what their leader says.

Obama's Challenge
The campaign speaks to "Radicalism."

By Stanley Kurtz

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge stands as Barack Obama's most important executive experience to date. By its own account, CAC was a largely a failure. And a series of critical evaluations point to reasons for that failure, including a poor strategy, to which the foundation over-committed in 1995, and over-reliance on community organizers with insufficient education expertise. The failure of CAC thus raises entirely legitimate questions, both about Obama's competence, his alliances with radical community organizers, and about Ayers's continuing influence over CAC and its board, headed by Obama. Above all, by continuing to fund Ayers's personal projects, and those of his political-educational allies, Obama was lending moral and material support to Ayers's profoundly radical efforts. Ayers's terrorist history aside, that makes the Ayers-Obama relationship a perfectly legitimate issue in this campaign.

article.nationalreview.com

Obama serving on advisory board with Ayers = Obama is an evil America hater.

Sarah Palin being a member of a party that hated the US so much that they wanted to secede and being a personal friend of the leader of this party who said he'd never acknowledge the US Flag = Palin is a patriotic American.

Conservative logic.

Had Ayer felt remorse and repented years ago, this matter would not be an issue by now. But Ayer was arrogant and felt he should have done more to harm America. ARROGANT. UNREPENTANT.

NYT is no friend of McCain and Palin. It published Ayer's interview on 9/11 2001 --- eerie coincidence.

And now wanting to publish it early (with whitewash) and deprive McCain of using the issue effectively, the NYT got trapped and fell into the hands of Palin.

Albright: trapped.

NYT: trapped.

NBC: demoted Olbermann and Matthews.

Some female writers had to issue apologies and one got fired --- for irrational attacks on Palin.

Way to go, SARAH! You're winning.

Sarah Palin has never been a member of that party, rastacyborg. And Obama isn't a Muslim either.

Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn't cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements.

She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.

She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She's been registered as a Republican since May 1982.

Palin never endorsed or supported Pat Buchanan for president. She once wore a Buchanan button as a "courtesy" when he visited Wasilla, but shortly afterward she was appointed to co-chair of the campaign of Steve Forbes in the state.

Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

We'll be looking into other charges in an e-mail by a woman named Anne Kilkenny for a future story. For more explanation of the bullet points above, please read the Analysis.

Palin's husband WAS a member until she started running for public office.

She's very sympathetic to AIP's cause.

If aligning oneself with a secessionist party that hates America isn't traitorous I don't know what is.

Maybe you need to apply the same logic to your Lord and Master's sympathy for the cause of Ayers, Wright, etc.

McCain Voted To Protect Domestic Terrorists Who Carry Out Violence At Abortion Clinics

Voting against making anti-choice violence a federal crime. As the Jed Report notes, McCain voted in 1993 and 1994 against making "bombings, arson and blockades at abortion clinics, and shootings and threats of violence against doctors and nurses who perform abortions" federal crimes.

Opposing Colorado's "Bubble Law." McCain said he opposed Colorado's "Bubble Law," which prohibited abortion protesters from getting within 8 feet of women entering clinics [Denver Post, 2/27/00]. The law was later upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Voting to allow those fined for violence at clinics to avoid penalties by declaring bankruptcy. NARAL Pro-Chioce America notes that McCain "voted to allow perpetrators of violence or harassment at reproductive-health clinics to avoid paying the fines assessed against them for their illegal acts by declaring bankruptcy."

Bill Ayers opposed the Vietnames war becase it was against communists. He is a self-declared communist as is Davis, Obama's surrogate father.

Ayers was a founder of the Weathermen. Here's a statement from that group.

The Weather Underground Produced A Manual Which Begins, "We Are A Guerrilla Organization. We Are Communist Women And Men, Underground In The United States For More Than Four Years." "The coalition was said to be a violence-prone faction inspired by the Weather Underground's ''Prairie Fire,'' a guerrilla warfare manual published in 1974. The manual begins, 'We are a guerrilla organization. We are Communist women and men, underground in the United States for more than four years.'" (Paul L. Montgomery, "2 Women In Brink's Case Identified With Weathermen From Start In '69," The New York Times, 10/ 22/81)

Isn't Obama's continuing lifetime association with America-hating communists and black racists, a matter that should disqualify him from office. These are his mentors, his guides who made him what he is today.

As republican, even I think Palin was out of line here. Obama doesn't pal around with just terrorists. He pals around with anyone who hates America including his own wife, Michelle "I was never proud to be an American until my husband was the Democratic nominee" Obama.

Way to go, SARAH! You're winning.

If the poll numbers have you thinking Sara 'Secessionist' Palin is winning, I'd hate to see what losing looks like in your book.

Isn't Obama's continuing lifetime association with America-hating communists and black racists, a matter that should disqualify him from office. These are his mentors, his guides who made him what he is today.

I looked up the qualifications and no, you're "But I think it should be that way" view is not a necessity to be president.

Suck it.

Obama widens lead in national poll

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll out Monday afternoon suggests that the country's financial crisis, record low approval ratings for President Bush and a drop in the public's perception of McCain's running mate could be contributing to Obama's gains.

Fifty-three percent of likely voters questioned in the poll say they are backing Obama for president, with 45 percent supporting McCain.

Psssst... you fergot to mention Rezko.

C'mon dude, ...yer slipping.

Wright aint a "black racist".

He's an anti-racist.

How that manages to elude you of all people is a complete and total mystery to Spud.

^_^

Wot evidence do you have in Barack's writings or speeches that is clear evidence that Barack is either a racist or a communist?

** Spud waits around and looks at his watch **

Yeah, that wot Spud thought.

He's pretty much won and you know it.

He aint perfect but the McCadaver/Caribou Barbie ticket is a fucking horrorshow on wheels and you must know that too on some level.

All yer fear-mongering and attempts to cast aspersions on Obama have at the end come to naught.

How sad fer you.

Be Well.

That such a large portion of our population is so bereft of intelligence as to be prone to falling for these nonsensical implications is a testament to our failure as a society to adhere to logic and reason and to promote them as cornerstones in our civil discourse.

But I 'spose that's rather "elitist" of me.

Welcome to the Dark Ages...

Ill say it again

just think if mccain had even shook hands with someone who bombed ABORTION CLINICS
or if he had even a conversation with a preacher who preached segregation

the leftists here and the lefists media would be melting down like the end of raiders of the lost ark in assaulting and attacking and keeping him from being elected because of those associations

with with obama having ALMOST THE SAME KIND OF "PALS"........well its all okay isnt
more proof that the media is doing EVERYTHING They can to get obama elected..

"Ill say it again

just think if mccain had even shook hands with someone who bombed ABORTION CLINICS"

What's worse, shaking hands with them, or voting in the U.S. to actually protect them?

"McCain Voted To Protect Domestic Terrorists Who Carry Out Violence At Abortion Clinics

Voting against making anti-choice violence a federal crime. As the Jed Report notes, McCain voted in 1993 and 1994 against making "bombings, arson and blockades at abortion clinics, and shootings and threats of violence against doctors and nurses who perform abortions" federal crimes.

So McCain voted in 1993 and 1994 against making "bombings" a federal crime?
McCain supports xtian terrorism!
There you have it.

Put Paris in the Pink House!

wrong!

oops..............my mistake

wrong thread.........

federal crimes.

in other words he is for states rights

OOOOOOOOO thats terrible

and none of his votes you mention tell us that he is all for bombing those clinics.

so again

more liberal jibberish..........

and that catholic priest guy.........how about that for a supporter.....

BUT NO>:>>>>>>>> WE CANT TALK ABOUt that can WE??????????????????

Palin not a seceesionist? No, she just knows and likes secessionists. A lot of them. Does nice things for their political party from time-to-time.

Using Palin's own logic, this compromses her character completely. Using her own arguments, she just needs to resign.

Oh, that would mean resigning both the governorship of Alaska as well as the VP nomination.

its a bullshit argument just like mccain not being a citizen because of where he was born to americans and all that nonsense.

its not even worthy of any good jokes about it

It may be a bullshit argument but it is exactly Palin's rhetorical logic this date. To hell with her.

before Palin's attacks Obama was up 6 points in Gallup & Rasmussen, After Palin's attacks Obama up 8 points.

Thanks Sarah, keep it up, Obama loves it!

She really shouldn't be throwing stones:

Sarah's married to Todd Palin, a member of AIP from 1995-2002. A traitor to the United States. A member of a party who's founder said:

"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."

"...the fires of Hell are glaciers compared to my hate for the American Government, and I won't be buried under their damn flag; I'll be buried in Dawson and when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones back to Alaska, back to my country."

She herself has addressed the AIP. She not only "pals around" with domestic traitors, she actually endorses and marries them.

To the AIP: "Keep up the good work!" - Sarah Palin, from her address to the AIP 2008.

Country First, McCain?

Hardly.

its a bullshit argument

Yes it is - but how does it feel?

"

I don't know why Obama is afraid to admit he has close ties the the capital bomber Ayres.

"

Maybe because it's pathetically desperate bullshit?

koolaid-
You're one of the idiots who blames minorities and the poor for Wall Street fucking you in the ass. I hear folks like you on the radio, but I didn't think they could actually type.

oops..............my mistake

wrong thread.........

Well don't be shy. Tell us where you meant to post that, so we can go there and say "RIGHT!"

I don't know why Obama is afraid to admit he has close ties the the capital bomber Ayres.

Does it have anything to do with the fact that you can't spell either. Must be the lack of Koolaid you turd.

Koolade-
So, the fact that at the time, Republicans controlled both houses of Congress, chaired all committees, controlled the agenda, and had veto power due to the fact that there was a Republican president (of "accountability") doesn't enter into the equation at all?

Nor does Phil Gramm's actions in 1999-2000, or the fact that the SEC(under Bush) relaxed the leverage rules for investment banks, or that McCain has been a champion of deregulation of Wall Street for thirty fuckin' years?

No. The people who bent you over and fucked you lubeless now point the blame at the people they always blame and you follow along like the dupe that you are, always have been, and always will be.

Koolade-
Not only has the Republican Party proven itself unfit to govern, but every single ideological piece of crap they've pushed has been revealed as disaster for America. From their neocon agenda of fairy dust in Iraq, to their deregulation and "voluntary regulation" rules for Wall Street, to relaxing the leverage statutes put in place after the Great Depression, to sub-prime loans pushed by investment banks (and allowed by the SEC) to an exploding debt.

But what's the real kicker is that they now claim, and you believe, that it's all someone elses fault. Try to gain power in the next generation, because this one has seen what fucktards you are.

Ease up on the "Koolade", dude, and I'll see you around.

Rex (of PWZ)-
What the fuck was "TheLeader" supposed to mean in this context?

Rex?

Rex-
"The Leader" showed footage of Jews in Germany. Why don't you fuckin' explain that in the context of the Obama candidacy, you asshole.

I don't know why Obama is afraid to admit he has close ties the the capital bomber Ayres

Because he isn't and doesn't.

Too much free koolaid

Rex-
Farrakhan is not running for President. Hitler isn't either.

Go find a muzak thread, toadstool.

You are so beneath contempt, Rex. You intersperse clips of Farrakhan, Jews in Germany in the 1930's, Hitler, and clips of Obama.

You are the most despicable entity I have ever seen given a platform on another's blog.

Rex-
The real topper is that you are too much of a wuss to respond to criticism. You hijack a blog after failing miserably in your own attempt at doing what Rogers has done, and then you just post spam on your host.

You are a parasite.

It doesn't matter, Betel. McCain's going down. It's all over but the shouting.

www.fivethirtyeight.com

See you in November, Rex! Hahahahahahaha.

I would think that what Rogers had in mind was a free-for-all discussion, and not for some creep to spam his site when the aforementioned flake(REX) failed at his attempt to attract attention to himself for his own site (PWZ) by attempting to use Cadenhead's site as aplatform to launch Rex's site, which was a miserable failure.

So now the failure (REX) spams Rogers' site with "Obama as Hitler" propaganda.

Nullifidian-
Yeah. McCain is in free-fall, and he will lose not only the election, but the few last scraps of honor he still pretends to possess.

REX-
Why do you think that Rogers will tolerate your incessant spam?

Well, I don't suppose I really care at this point.

Have a good night.

Hang out Boyd, the collage isn't done yet....the big finish is coming.....

RX

The market's driving you over the edge?

Bush Voters are Lunatics

Watch the clips Unity, see the connections, Obama is an empty slate upon which a socialist agenda can be written, but has his own secret causes.....he isn't the first and he damn sure isn't going to be the last...

We are running down to the wire, it about time that Obamamessiah fantics take a hard look at 'the leader', take a look at history and what happens when people start singing songs to a 'leader' that has no record other then oratory and bully power.

It's Kim Il Jung,

It's not good.

Hussein wants to shut down radio stations and newspapers that have the 'temerity' to report on him.

Sounds like Chavez to me.

It's not good.

Obama has a radical jew and America hater as his spiritual leader, one who cursed our country 5 days after 9/11.

It's not good.

Use a litle critical thinking.

While many here spend their time thinking up names for Sarah Palin Pornos, a 'Dear Leader' is waiting to assume power.

Do the math.

Boyd, everyone of my post is spot on as always.

Watch and learn, son.

McCain/Palin 08'

REX Z

I do feel sorry for your personal market related problems.

Now I have to add 'politically deranged' to the list

You don't even realize it was your own who got you into the mess you're in.

Unity, don't be dumb.

Look at the images I have strung together and use some critical thinking.

Mindless worship of an empty shell gets you nowhere........

Mindless worship of an empty shell gets you nowhere........

That's the Bush voter mantra. And, boy, worshiping that empty shell got us nowhere!!

I have a Masters Degree from a top university and have done my homework, thank you.
