Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Friday, September 26, 2008

Kathleen Parker, a conservative opinion columnist, called today on Sarah Palin to drop out of the race. "Palin's recent interviews with Charles Gibson, Sean Hannity, and now Katie Couric have all revealed an attractive, earnest, confident candidate. Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League. ... No one would criticize a mother who puts her family first. Do it for your country."

"Barack Obama faces the same problem with Biden. "

I think it's the other way around, why would you get rid of the guy who is infinitely more qualified?
I do think palin has got the short end of the stick. There is a lot expected of her and rightly so but there is an awful lot of crap being shoveled on her right now the likes of which i can not remember. IT seems the dems started throwing their shit at a wall to see what stick but have now come to realize that even if none does the wall will still smell bad. But they have succeed in providing a smokescreen to prevent obama or biden being in the news, which in their case can only be a good thing. But as the attack get more childish and spiteful i do think the american people will start to see what is going on and there may be a pendulum swing. Couple that with the attacks running out soon and all the dems anti-palin ammunition gone they will have lost their best weapons effectiveness, slander.
As the time marches on i think we will see palin start becoming a little more media savvy, if you can figgur out what questions the interviewer has though up over the last few days you have a much better shot at appearing intelligent. WE saw this work for obama, although still not a decent interview by anyones standards he has gotten better. Palin will undergo the same transformation, but i dont think she has nearly as far to go and she must learn much faster because the media is vengeful to a degree that obama never saw and never will. But it still comes down to her credentials, does her public speaking ability matter? yes. Is it as important as her qualifications? no, unless you name is obama. When it comes down to it, she is a much better candidate the the dems talking head at the top of their ticket and i think America will come to realize that. So, you have to ask yourself this; if this were a job interview for a ceo position who in their right mind would even consider hiring someone who equates to a mcdonalds fry cook over someone with experience and a resume a mile long?

#4 - That was a long winded deflection if I ever read one. Palin is a young politician that was thrust into the spotlight for political reasons and it's backfiring. She doesn't interview well, IMO, and should have answers for "easy" questions. When asked about something McCain did that proves he's a maverick you's think she would have an answer. Likewise for foreign policy experience due to the close proximity to Russia. She flunked that question by Couric nad had to know it was coming.

She's out of her league and McChicken is out of his mind. Sounds a lot like Bush/Cheney 2000...

"Palin is a young politician that was thrust into the spotlight for political reasons"

And that is somehow different then obama?

"She doesn't interview well,"
Is that really the most important thing to you?
If that were the case to the rest of America then the king of um would have been ousted long ago. No, instead i think the people are going to vote on something more then the superficial if not then we may be in for 4 years of obama. I sincerely hope that people are willing to look behind the curtain, but the again smoke and mirrors got obama this far so who knows.

Palin is a young politician that was thrust into the spotlight for political reasons"

And that is somehow different then obama?

Yes, Palin has no clue what she is doing.

#7 - Hahahahaha, are you really serious. I can see peope making a case for McCain and his capability to lead the executive branch, but Palin, please.

I'll spell it out for you. She can't even answer questions that she was expecting during an interview, ie - no substance or no ability to think. Maybe she does have the ability and is afraid to show it. How do you think she's going to fare when the bad guys are putting on the pressure. Will she respond with, let me get back to you on that. Seriously, whether you agree with or disagree with it McCain reached across the aisle for a piece of legislation called McCain-Feingold. You'd think Palin could have at least thrown that out there off the cuff for why he is a Maverick.

Sal, anytime you are ready feel free to look behind the curtain too.

Likewise for foreign policy experience due to the close proximity to Russia.

That has got to be the dumbest fucking response I have ever heard. Cindy McCain should be shot for ever starting that.

Palin, if she had one iota of intelligence would have backed away from it, but instead she grasped on to it like a life preserver at sea.

The US confronts Russia in Europe, not Alaska.

I guess it makes McCain a foreign policy expert because Mexico is next to Arizona.

First of all, obammy is a he not a she, and saying he would make a good chambermaid is racist.

And Obama one because he attended a German Rock concert.

Which is probably why even Bush has now accepted his plans for an Iraq timetable, his bombing within Pakistan, his more troops for afghanistan and his negotiating with Iran.

Adopting caribiou barbie's recipe for moose stew, not so much.

"Which is probably why even Bush has now accepted his plans for an Iraq timetable,"

Please tell me your joking.
Are you going to give obama credit for mimicking other peoples ideas now, i hear he created the internet too.

"he can't even answer questions that she was expecting during an interview, ie - no substance or no ability to think."

That is not true, look at her past media experiences look at her town meetings, look at her career as govener. I will admit she was flustered and has not come off very well, but i repeat, do you want a speaker or a doer? She has proven her self in many ways, some you may disagree with, fine, but show me where obama has? By doing exactly what he was told? By his unwavering support for partisan politics? By his withholding his opinion till he knows what the people want to hear?

And i find it funny how not only republicans have found a match for obama in their VP but now the dems are too. I guess if you cant beat him aim a little lower. At best the dem ticket is backward with the only legitimate candidate in the vp slot and the top of the ticket is nothing more then a publicity stunt.

#13 - last time I checked Bush was dead set against a timetable until Obama went to the ME and Iraq'a PM said, yep, I think the timetable is a good idea. Sal - you really are showing 100000000% partisan ideals. Try to bring it back to the middle. It's ok to give someone some credit. Here's an example. I applaud George Bush for uniting our country after 9/11. I never fealt that tight of bond with my fellow citizens. Now, here's the flip side. I abhor Bush for taking the truly United States of America and pissing all over it for a needless war in Iraq versus Afghanistan where Bin Forgotten was located. See, that's how you can be somewhat objective versus totally partisan.

"Conservative Parker: Palin Out of Her League"

Corky, I think I understand where you're coming from on this.
So I say, with all due respect, you're way off the mark.
In fact, just plain wrong.
Sarah Palin is not, repeat not out of her league.
She's smack dab, directly in her league: The McBush League.

The main trouble is that the species of folks who'd buy a Sarah Palin don't read - not the blogs, not the papers, probably not even their cereal boxes.

These are the folks who voted for Bush because he was as stupid as they - you know, nice to have a beer with. Now they will buy Palin because she's a MILF; they fantasize doing the F part

Jeez, democracy does NOT work while the imbeciles' corporate masters have enough bucks to convince the imbeciles to vote against their own best interests every time. herm

First of all, obammy is a he not a she, and saying he would make a good chambermaid is racist.

#12 | Posted by ELCIDCE90

Who the fuck said anything about race? I am white and she is white. I was sexist maybe, but not racist.

Elcid, at first I thought you were just one of those evangelical assholes, now I see that you are immensely stupid too, which is normal for evangelicals, hence the Palin phenomenon.

Now that I think about it, I wouldn't trust Palin in my chamber, so maybe my statement gave her too much credit. Thanks for pointing that out.

" last time I checked Bush was dead set against a timetable until Obama went to the ME and Iraq'a PM said, yep, I think the timetable is a good idea."

Oh so i see, obama was responsible for it, bush listens to him, see maybe obama is god. Talk about showing partisanship, if you truly believe that then you are lost. So i would recommend to keep reading the talking points but think about them before taking them to heart. Obama had nothing to do with a timetable aside from using it for sound bytes to fool his constituents. No bush listened to his advisor's who found that now after the landscape of the conflict has changed that we could start. It may now be possible due to the surge amongst other factor which obama opposed. In fact obama a has now said multiple time although he thinks the surge was a great success that went beyond anyones expectations he would not support it knowing what he knows now. He has said that the lives saved are not as important as his political career. But i'm sure he has great foreign policies, rhiiiight.

"Oh so i see, obama was responsible for it, bush listens to him, see maybe obama is god. Talk about showing partisanship"

Talk about showing idiocy....

Bush said no timelines, Obama said timelines, Iraq said timelines, then Bush said timelines.

But keep eating the peanuts out of his excrement.

Reports are CBS has more footage in the vault.

They've already aired the footage with Palin at her best.

One can only imagine what's in the vault.....

Lip, Elcid changed your post's source-Palin and applied the elements to Obama.

Other than that, he could make a good chamber-maid.

Another conservative columnist said, "Palin makes George Bush sound like Cicero".

Dan Quayle must be a happy camper about now too. He'll no longer be considered the dullest knife in the drawer.

Palin had no business being selected in the first place. I strongly suspect she was the result of a temper tantrum thrown by Grampy Poopy Pants when the RNC told him he could not nomimate either Liebermann (BLECH!) or Tom Ridge. He went off in a sulk and, in a moment of pique, said "Well if I can't have who I WANT on the ticket, you can just swallow THIS" and brought in Palin, perhaps in a move to get the RNC to back off and say "Oh, if THIS is the alternative, get whoever you want!" The RNC, unfortunately, didn't bite and now this country is faced with having someone as our president who is so completely and totally unqualified and unable to grasp even the most basic facts (the Shrub Doctrine!) that people are starting to be really scared for our future. On BOTH side of the aisle. This is no longer a partisan issue. This speaks to the future welfare of our country. DUMP HER!

nice the righties do well with the
"i know you are but what am i" reply

good one

next time you can use the
"sticks and stones" one

Even conservatives know Palin is hopelessly unqualified to fill the shoes of the president if necessary but John McCain still refuses to release his medical records. America does not want a President Sarah Palin and McCain needs to demonstrate that he actually is healthy enough to serve four years.

Palin is thinking...."hm...if I drop out then that means I don't have to do that debate....""

I called this after he chose her. He knows she's a bad choice. He's throwing the election so the Dem candidate will be handed Bush's mess and the R's will spend the next 4 yrs blaming him for not fixing what took Shrub 8 yrs to destroy, then come 2012, 8 more yrs, starting with Jeb!

Good Grief

You people pick Obama because he is a super orator, and has been in the senate 2 out of the 4 years he is supposed to be there.

So you would rather keep this same bunch of politicians we have had for 20 to 30 years, or perhaps let someone more like us try

HOW IN THE WORLD COULD SHE BE ANY WORSE?

Who CARES what the conservatives want - they are totally irrevelant.

"HOW IN THE WORLD COULD SHE BE ANY WORSE?"

You're missing the point. We won't settle for the same, either. Or McSame.

So you would rather keep this same bunch of politicians we have had for 20 to 30 years,....
Posted by HillBillyJihad at 2008-09-26 01:56 PM

No dumbass, we're trying to do the exact opposite. If you think McSame/Palin are "outsiders" or not the same politicians as we've had, you are even stupider than your many inane posts show.

"HOW IN THE WORLD COULD SHE BE ANY WORSE?"

She thinks Kissinger, Baker and Powell are naive.
A dumb person that thinks they are smart is a dangerous person. A dumb person who understands they are dumb and surrounds themself with smart people isn't. Sarah thinks she's smart. She's dangerous. Thanks but no thanks.

NY is only about 300 miles farther from Moscow than Juneau is.

"Even conservatives know Palin is hopelessly unqualified to fill the shoes of the president "

Right now yes, but she would not be president. Think of it this way, if mcain drops dead in two years and she takes over, she will have had as much experience as obama has in a national aspect. Kinda puts that argument in perspective huh? Add that to the fact that obama is not now remotely qualified and you got to wonder. mccain chose palin to promote the idea that he will change Washington, obama picked biden so he could say there was at leas one legitimate candidate on his side.

"Think of it this way, if mcain drops dead in two years..."

But that's not the job requirement of the VP. She has to be ready if he drops dead in two days, and she's clearly not.

"Palin had no business being selected in the first place."

Fine, if thats true then how the hell can you support obama?

I have no problem with attacking the weaker of the two but find it sad when the weaker for the dems is the lead on the ticket.

But, DANNI

Palin was within 3 feet of Henry Kissinger the other day. She did later contradict him on some well established and long held U.S. diplomatic doctrine.

**** She has proven her self in many ways, ......
..... Posted by salamandagator *****

......yup......she took a small town with a balanced budget and left them 20 million in debt....

......she might have the makings of a great Republican yet... along the Bush model.......

"She has to be ready if he drops dead in two days, and she's clearly not."

He could drop dead in two seconds and she would still have more executive experience the the entire dem ticket.

"I have no problem with attacking the weaker of the two but find it sad when the weaker for the dems is the lead on the ticket."

Have you heard Joe Biden talk? Makes my head hurt.

.....and remember Sal.......it's not the Dems calling for her to resign from the ticket......it's a conservative.......

......the Dems want her to stay .......

Lessee, how 'bout a sports analogy? Dallas has Tony Romo and Rob Johnson on the team, and guess who's starting. Right, the bright young talent instead of the solid old geezer.

"America does not want a President Sarah Palin..."

Where are you getting your info, Danni? It must be from the nether regions of your bowels somewhere. It appears America would prefer Palin to Biden so "America" can't be all that much opposed to her.

Well that would pale in comparison to McCain's inventions of the blackberry, wi-fi and cell phones.

But you froth at the mouth to keep, Frank, Dodd, Pelosi, Byrd (KKK), anyone who you feel hates as much as you, But because Palin is not a goose-stepping left ideologue.

You people are unbelievable and How is Obama different than any of those other politicians? How much did he ask for in earmarks last year? How has he voted (when he was there) in the senate? WHo coontributed to his campaigns (Freddie MAc and Fannie Mae)..?

Ideologues suck, Both right and left

"Have you heard Joe Biden talk? Makes my head hurt."

And yet he is still far superior to obama in just about every way.

......between McCain shitting his pants, and Palin babbling incoherently......

........they may just provide the justification for some fence sitters to vote for the first black President.......

Rob Johnson on the team, and guess who's starting. Right, the bright young talent instead of the solid old geezer.

Rob Johnson was thrown away by the Buffalo Bills. The fucking Bills thought he sucked. Now what does that say for Rob Johnson?

Use another analogy Cork. I dislike Obama, but like Biden, and I take objection to anyone comparing him to one of the worst quarterbacks the Bills have ever had.

Now what does that say for Rob Johnson?

That he has a super bowl ring?

Do not cave again McCain!!
Keep Sarah on the ticket so you can lose and go home.
The election of Obama will put someone in the Whitehouse who cares about Vets and does not vote against every bill that helps Vets.

"And yet he is still far superior to obama in just about every way."

sad that sarah palin
who didn't even know that russia was the land mass she could see from her backyard until a few weeks ago is completely more superior to mccain

and obama/biden are far superior to anyone in the entire GOP party right now.

she would still have more executive experience the the entire dem ticket.

Or McCain himself.

Bush had executive experience.

Nobody had more executive experience than Cheney and Rumfeld in 2000.

How that turn out again?

Oh right, with America weakened, diminished, poorer, more enviromentally degraded and with the nation being alternately reviled and laughed at by every other civilized country on the globe.

Schmuck.

Yer talking points is all old and busted.

Try a new crayon.

Try sharpening it this time.

Be Well.

"Have you heard Joe Biden talk? Makes my head hurt."

Bet he would win the inane "who would you like to have a beer with" contest over any of the other candidates.

He's kinda like Reagan, goofy and gaffe prone and likable at the same time.

"Obama will put someone in the Whitehouse who cares about Vets "

Obama said himself that he cares more about his politics then the lives of our troops. His disdain for the military is nothing short of reprehensible. I can not see anyone who cares about our service men ever even considering obama a possible choice.

Ok, spud so experience does not matter? Then palin is just as qualified as anyone?

Nice logic there
But i guess you have to cut corners to support someone as weak as obama.

"He makes at least one headline inducing fuck up per week. Not that we'd read it here, but the guy is a riot!"

Looks like no matter who wins we'll end up with a VP that is about as sharp as a basketball.

One is nice to look at and the other is nice to laugh at.... Tough choice.

SALAMANDAGATOR

If your lips are flappin' you must be lying. What a bunch of utter bullshit.

McCain voted AGAINST the G.I. Bill of Rights, getting tours of duty back to normal times, VA funding.

Obama voted for them.

Your real name must be Pinnochio

Look at facts salamandagator! Look at the votes McCain has made against the welfare of our troops. I cannot see someone voting for someone like McCain who JUST talks about supporting the troops while he stabs them in the back.
But but but but but he was a POW.

"who didn't even know that russia was the land mass she could see from her backyard until a few weeks"

And obama did not know how many states there are.

Lets not get to childish here.

"Obama said himself that he cares more about his politics then the lives of our troops.

I agree to a certain extent to what even begayla said yesterday on cnn.............she isnt sarah anymore because they have kept her out of the way too much and she might have lost confidence that she had............

"Look at the votes McCain has made against the welfare of our troops."

BS he voted against that last bill because he had his own on the table. He has shown the balls to vote down bills that, while offering more money, would do long term damage to the military. He has always been a supporter, you can take some votes out of context but it does not change the fact that he has the utmost respect for our troops and obama has nothing but contempt for them.

If McCain had picked Chuck Hagel at the outset, I would have given him some serious consideration. But the Palin idiocy and McCain's odd-seeming behavior (he must have internalized the risky, can't give a damn behaviors of the chronically depressed when he was a prisoner in Hanoi) would have me fleeing from the risk that he would entail.

I think he needs a psych eval ASAP! We have a wacky and daangerous depressed candidate looking for validation.

Doc, i laid it all out here, using only obamas words in their appropriate context context,

www.drudge.com

It leaves two possibilities. Either obama is a moron the likes of which we have not seen in politics so far or he really has nothing but disdain for our troops.
Either way you cannot support the military by electing this guy.

The link to the interviews is in there.

SALAMANDAGATOR

Something tells me you're from Outer Mongolia or somewhere way beyond the borders of the U.S.

McCain has consistently voted against the vets. My poor brother in Iraq refuses to look at his voting record. Veterans For Common Sense spells it out, and still people refuse to believe that a former POW, our so called HERO, is trying to disenfranchise every one who serves or has served this country.

May 2006: McCain voted against an amendment that would provide $20 million to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for health care facilities.

April 2006: McCain was one of only 13 Senators to vote against $430,000,000 for the Department of Veteran Affairs for Medical Services for outpatient care and treatment for veterans.

March 2006: McCain voted against increasing Veterans medical services funding by $1.5 billion in FY 2007 to be paid for by closing corporate tax loopholes.

March 2004: McCain once again voted for abusive tax loopholes over veterans when he voted against creating a reserve fund to allow for an increase in Veterans' medical care by $1.8 billion by eliminating abusive tax loopholes. Jeez, McCain really loves those tax loopholes for corporations, since he voted for them over our veterans' needs.

October 2003: McCain voted to table an amendment by Senator Dodd that called for an additional $322,000,000 for safety equipment for United States forces in Iraq and to reduce the amount provided for reconstruction in Iraq by $322,000,000.

Actions speak louder than words. You probably think Dubya is a cowboy, McCain invented the blackberry and the fundamentals of our economy are strong.

#68 | Posted by salamandagator at 2008-09-26 02:33 PM

and this to tanax as well

read the other thread where I show you that ron paul voted AGAINST 23 BILLION coming to help his own district ONE OF THE HARDEST HIT AREAS OF THE HURRICANE
so WHY VOTE NO

because of the government regulations that come with that money
in the houston chronicle today he says that too many of his constituents tell him that they will HELP THEMSLEVES AND NOT DEPEND ON THE GOVERNMENT

so I guess you would say that he was voting AGAINST HIS PEople too.

its the same kind of deal..........

Dream on!

"Doesn't support your contention."

OK 1 more time.
Obama has said on many occasions that the surge was successful beyond our wildest dreams saving lives and resources. He said in that abc interview
abcnews.go.com
That knowing what he knows he would not support it.
Now it takes a lot more spin to find an alternate meaning the the one obama states, he could care less about the lives saved, he would not support it because he didn't like bush. He reiterated his position on the bill o riley show when he refused to admit he was wrong with his vote. He has only the utmost contempt for our military and human life in general. So one again if you support our military or human life, despite what you may think of the current administration, you have no choice but to vote other then obama.

I'll share my e-mail to the author with you all...

Kathleen... Thank you for your candid and honest assessment of the Palin situation. I am a former Republican turned independent (thanks to W.) and a former National Review reader. I am tired of conservatives supporting lightweights like George W. Bush and Palin just because they are Republicans. They do the country a disservice for generations to come.

"Now it takes a lot more spin to find an alternate meaning the the one obama states..."

But you're going to do it anyway, aren't you?

"...he could care less about the lives saved"

Using that "logic", Obama cares quite a bit, as he advised in 2002 against going into Iraq. McCain, on the other hand, at first said it would be easy, then stated no one should have thought it would be easy.

Maybe tonight he should just debate himself.

#75 | Posted by salamandagator at 2008-09-26 02:47 PM

And from that you get: "Obama said himself that he cares more about his politics then the lives of our troops"? And, "He has only the utmost contempt for our military and human life in general"?

Is English your primary language? I mean, for your entire lifetime?

There's a chance Alaska may call for Palin to quit as well.

Here's a video summary of the Troopergate investigation by the Alaskan Daily News. Palin looks terrible when you view her comments from just a couple of months ago and compare them to today's positions as this report clearly lays out (5 minutes long):

VIDEO: Troopergate - Alaskan Daily News

I like the fact that Palin stammers when she speaks and acts the way she does. (not enough to vote for her but..) Perhaps the problem with Obama and McCain is they are too polished and have been in Washington too long.

To me all it means is that she is human.

Maybe tonight he (McCain) should just debate himself.

#77 | Posted by Danforth

That would be the most interesting debate of all.

Palin can give him a mighty run for his money too, as the video I posted from the Alaskan Daily News (above) points out.

sorry salamander

obama was against the surge cause he was for bringing the troops home from a bs war

when will you guys get it through your thick skulls that sending more troops puts more troops in harms way while bringing them home from a bs war takes them out of harms way.

mccain is for victory in iraq
victory for bullshit

what do we win if we win
nothing
we win a country that still doesn't like us
we win a country that is still majority best friends with iran
and we win a huge debt to china

ding ding ding
we lose

well Palin got poked by other guys so that means McCain has a chance for his dipstick (if he uses Viagra), McCain is looking for a piece of that!

"To me all it means is that she is human."

thats fine
but call me crazy
i want someone smarter then me for the most important job in the country.

#79 | Posted by AMERICANUNITY at 2008-09-26 02:57 PM

She says she'd never be "less than enthusiastic" about the investigation?

Sarah "Stonewall" Palin sure has a strange way of demonstrating enthusiasm.

"I like the fact that Palin stammers when she speaks. . .

So does Mel Tillis. Let's run him. At least he could entertain us with "Coca-Cola Cowboy."

Sarah is smarter than you Kliff..

"Looks like no matter who wins we'll end up with a VP that is about as sharp as a basketball.

One is nice to look at and the other is nice to laugh at.... Tough choice."

Uh, Sully:

Are you saying you think Biden is a hottie?

murph
you have any back up for that ammo?

I remember reading Kathleen Parker's scathing editorial regarding Hillary's voice. Palin's screech would shatter a wine glass at 100 yards, but no comment about that from KP.

"Have you heard Joe Biden talk?"

The media have adopted an "if it aint a gaffe it aint news" philosophy vis a vis Joe Biden which is unfortunate cos he's actually a really good and effective public

Luckilt he's got a sense of humour abou this typa stuff.

Be Well.

If Mccain and Repubs care so much about the veterans then why are they trying to suppress their votes?

Ok so to those of you to blind to see what he said let me dumb it down for you.

Obama say surge bad
obama say he try stop surge
surge happen
Surge work
Obama say surge good, save lives
obama say still would have stopped if could surge because he no like bush.
obama willing to sell out military for political gains.
obama an ass.

Obama said himself that he cares more about his politics then the lives of our troops.

Salamandagater-

Pleez provide a link to that lie-I know you can't-he never said that-it's a strawman you try to use.

Check your wreck'd 'em-you may be on the verge of bleeding to death after pulling THAT outta yer ass.

The last one's obviously worn off.

Be Well.

Sal-even the PENTAGON has said the surge didn't work-it was ethnic cleansing of the neighborhoods, as well as bushitter PAYING the insurgents to leave our guys alone.
try again asswipe

"obama was against the surge cause he was for bringing the troops home from a bs war"

That is not what he said.
He said he would no vote for it, knowing how well it would work because he disagreed with the political leanings of the bush administrations.

salamandagator know not what obama say
salamandagator just talk out of ass
salamandagator still thinks iraq has wmds
salamandagator things osama is hiding in a hole in arbil
salamandagator likes surges even though without sunni awakening and bribing insurgents it would have failed
salamandagator doesn't want the troops to come home

Obama said don't go into Iraq.

McCain said it would be fairly easy.

"I know you can't-he never said that-it's a strawman you try to use."

Its already been posted, pay attention.

"even the PENTAGON has said the surge didn't work"

I've gone through this too many times, obama said the surge worked beyond what could have been hoped for. HE said knowing it worked so well he still would not have supported it. Weather or not it worked is irrelevant because we got to see inside what obama calls a brain, and he thinks that his politics are more important the the lives he believes the surge saved. You don't get any worse than that, that is what the left has been claiming about bush for 6years now but when your own guy admits too what you say you detest it becomes suddenly alright.

It would be great if folks here were so critical of Biden--he is the guy with his foot in his mouth and no one cares.

www.cartoonstock.com

You hopeless, deluded bastard-I'm done with you-there is no reaching you-you're too busy hating.

" the surge worked beyond what could have been hoped for"

that doesn't mean it worked
since you got a simple mind
let me make this easy

it worked more then he thought it would
but it still didnt' work all the way
and definately not as much as you and the righties are saying

you still got a government that could crumble with out the us support at anymoment and get swallowed up by iran.

Surge work

~Slammin'gaytor

No, it didn't.

Turning Baghdad into a prison city worked to benefit the ethnic cleansing.

The ethnic cleansing worked to reduce violence.

NOT the same thing.

Saying the so-called Surge worked while looking at the numbers of Iraqi and American dead plus the massive numbers of PTSD cases on both sides is obscene.

The surge worked about as well as Hitler's final solution did.

The fact that BushCo is currently paying off a shitload of competing militia's in Iraq and the fact that the main players there are lying low waiting fer this election to play out, puts the lie to that claim.

Be Well.

/Fark Godwin. Ethnic cleansing is ethnic cleansing. Apt is apt.

"he has said it
just not in that one specific interview"

So the tread comes back to topic. It was a specific question, he gave a specific answer. Now either he it a terrific idiot or he betrayed his true thought. But the fact remains, his statement, on its face, is one of vulgar disregard for our military. You can add your own bits of ideas in to make it palatable but there is no mistaking what he said.

Now, is he an idiot, or is he a vile piece of trash?
Those are the only two options left.

" his statement, on its face, is one of vulgar disregard for our military."

Would you classify George W. Bush's actions as "vulgar disregard for our military" as well?

"Surge work

~Slammin'gaytor

No, it didn't."

Obamas words not mine. So your guy is a liar, see spud you learn things every day.

no again
his words aren't it worked
its worked more then he thought

that doesnt mean it worked
you really are simple

I most certainly cant admit it because its not true.

From #8:

"I'll spell it out for you. She can't even answer questions that she was expecting during an interview, ie - no substance or no ability to think. Maybe she does have the ability and is afraid to show it."

Disclosure: I am solidly pro-Obama.

That said, besides the issue of not being as well versed on the national and international issues as we would want (and why should she need to be as gov. of Alaska?) she may also be being hampered by the McCain campaign regarding 'staying on message' and not being allowed to free-wheel or even say things that would be more reasonable -i.e. "That specific topic is not something I focused on as governor, but I am working hard with advisors to get up to speed on the several variables." as they fear her lack of knowledge will diminish her.

Thanks for your imput doc.

See ilearn things every day too.

Like new definition of
"Things don't have to be true"

I guess proving them to be true does not make them true. Maybe one day i too cas loose half my brain function and understand liberal language.

And
"They just be his interpretation of what he hear"
I did not realize using someones own words in the context the were meant is interpreting anything. I guess i'll just chalk that up to another "it's not what i think so it must be wrong" moment for you.

Once again, thank you and don't worry i will not charge you for the brain cells that were destroyed reading your post.

"Maybe one day i too cas loose half my brain function"

Sooner than you think.

Palin seemed afraid to stray in any way, shape or form from message and struggled mightily as a result.

If the woman really is that good, as the Republican party portends, remove the reins and let her speak freely. The Republican party shouldn't fear what she has to say, if she's really what they've sold her as.

"Disclosure: I am solidly pro-Obama."

Don't worry about it, we can't all be perfect.
And some are just late bloomers.

All joking aside, she is not the best candidate for pres. She is a mismatch against biden, but she is the VP and will have some training. Unfortunetly for obama he is just as under qualified as she is but he is up front. Which in all honesty could lead to some pretty funny times, you think bush is cheny puppet wait till obama/biden gets in.

The deflection of every objection to Sarah amazes on two scores: 1) Can they really find nothing positive about her, save possibly her looks? 2) Do they really think they can make "inexperience" stick against O'Bama, who has about the experience Lincoln and JFK had when they took office? herm

"Sooner than you think."

Is that a threat?
Or are you offering to buy me a few drinks?

Either way it would probably end with me kicking your ass.

Ok herm, lets say repubs stopped attacking obama on his complete lack of experience. Would the dems stop against palin? No thats all they have against her and they are more then happy to look over obamas resume to yell about hers.

But can you imagine it?
Dems no longer have any ammo against palin and repubs still have buttloads on obama. So careful what you wish for.

"Or are you offering to buy me a few drinks?"

What...they let you have lemonade at recess?

The man is stuck
If he keeps her he loses
If he drops her he loses
sorry Bush lovers
you are history

McCain Aides Complain That Palin Is "Clueless"

Capitol Hill sources are telling that senior McCain people are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless."

Give John McCain one Viagra moment with her that he's lusting for and we can get rid of both of them after Johnny has a heart attack.

Cindy McCain should hang her head in shame for breaking up a marriage where chidren and a sick wife were involved. I hope she got what she deserved a decrepit old man that has used all her money.

Gator - I would just like to see be allowed to freely answer some questions without having to be ridgedly controlled. I disagree with much of (what I think I know about) her various positions, but it would be more equitable to judge her on HER words rather than campaign-controllers.

T&C - I am a D, but even I take the HP with a grain of salt. Of course, I don't trust any mainstream media in any event. Watching the debate tonight will be the first time I have watched TV since a last Saturday morning British soccer game. Not much in the way of politics there (least-wise that affect the US! lol)

OOOps, Kathleen Parker will not be welcomed warmly by the next Vice President of America.

(Still, I wish I was there to provide some coaching for Sarah before the debates --- anyway, she's built so much political capital that short of a terrible disaster (which is unlikely) she will continue to hold the conservs till Nov 4.).

Sarah does not have the credentials to carry Barack's jock to the rostrum. Dems have no more ammo on Sarah? Dems have an H-Bomb. Repubs have only a slingshot. herm

The Palin / Biden debate will prove how much John McCain puts his "country first" in his decisions.

"Ain't she great folks ?...I can't wait to introduce her Washington"...where she can make a total ass out of herself even more than she already has.

"I would just like to see be allowed to freely answer some questions"

I think she is a strong individual and you will see that come out. But right now if she mispronounces a syllable she is jumped on by opponents. Give it anothe rmont and you will se who she is.

Barack has gaffes of his own.

As for Palin, in the debate, if the foreign policy credential does come up, be honest and simply say that you have learnt a lot from your recent visits with the heads states. And in the same breath, mention the fact that Obama's colleagues pointed out that Obama is seeking 'on the job' training for the Presidency. ALWAYS MENTION THIS.

This goes to highlight the fact that McCain has the experience to lead.

Dems have an H-Bomb--herm

Is that the HERM-Bomb?

Can't be anything else..'o)

The "H" is for Hermaphrodite.

Dems no longer have any ammo against palin and repubs still have buttloads on obama. So careful what you wish for.

Who needs Ammo when she doing a much better job of destroying herself than any attcks ever could!

It's brilliant and it doesn't cost the Obama campaign a single cent. Just let 'Failin Palin' answer some real questions and watch her implode like a Vegas Casino demolition. It's fucking beautiful!

"Who needs Ammo when she doing a much better job of destroying herself than any attcks ever could!"

If you consider a lack of perfect speaking skills, destroying then you must have an awful low opinion of obama.

Well, certainly Palin is a "quick study."

Pages right outta Dubya/Cheney/Rove...

news.yahoo.com

Poor fucking Johnnyboy. He picks Ms. youcant seemytaxrecords Palin and gets about a weeks worth of bump out of it-he's now back where he was-4-6 points behind the colored guy with no experience, even his friend Huckabee says he just made himself look like an idiot suspending his campaign to go to washington and say nothing and then still look moronic on his debate flip flop.

What's next? He's out of tricks.

And that's all he ever had.

That and 7 houses, 13 cars and 5500 dollar make-overs.

"4-6 points behind the colored guy with no experience,"

That has outspent him 2-1.
so that extra 200 million bought him 4 points.
Ouch
But i guess it take a whole lot more money to fool the population then obama was hoping for.

It'll be more than 4 points after tonight. McCain is a doddering old disaster.

McCain is a doddering old disaster.

#148 | Posted by LiberalBadass

you're giving him too much credit. to call him a disaster implies that at one time, he was not a disaster. he has always been a loser.

Ouch Baby, ouch.

NEW YORK -- Foreign leaders from three continents this week provided Gov. Sarah Palin with personal tutorials on world affairs, exchanging views on everything from international security to Alaskan energy policies. But they also sought to show they weren't taking sides in the American election contest, going out of their way to tell reporters how much they think of Sen. Joseph Biden.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili showered praise on Biden, saying he played a little known role in advising the government on how it should respond to Russian intervention last month. "There were lots of people calling me," he said at a breakfast hosted by Richard Holbrooke, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Biden and Holbrooke, he said, "were two people that made lots of difference on the ground."

Saakashvili said Biden called him two days after Russian troops entered Georgia and proposed a series of "very concrete things we should do." He said Biden came up with the idea -- later approved by the Bush Administration -- to provide a $1 billion grant to Georgia to get back on its feet, and that he also outlined a series of laws designed to punish Russia, including legislation that would "go after corrupt Russian officials."

NG3--I am sure if the leaders were complimentary of Biden then Sarah will acknowledge that--and likely in the debate.

It would be great if folks here were so critical of Biden--he is the guy with his foot in his mouth and no one cares.

When you get an article from one of the top liberal media sites equivalent to theuber rightwing National review demanding Biden drop out, get back to us. Having his foot in his mouth occasioanlly still implies he has more in his head than caribou barbie has.

Perhaps the biggest downside for Mcsame, when the debate commission told him to grow up was that he can't drop any Palin-Biden debates. He wanted to move the Prez debate to replace a Veep debate but his temper tantrum didn't work so he's stuck looking like a doofus AND having to endure Palin getting her tooshie kicked by Joe.

Maybe they'll let her take her Coles Notes with her....

Right now if she were to resign from the GOP ticket, allowing for a great replacement, McSame would win easily. That invisible vote that many more are beginning to admit exists, is going to kill Obama's chances. I bet on that one.

It isn't right, true. But since when has that mattered in politics? Even with the wachy dame it is Mcsame's to lose. Just how many will not go dark? Who knows? That there is a large number is in my opinion, large enough. I hope to be wrong because as much as both candidate suck, BHO sucks somewhat less.

"It would be great if folks here were so critical of Biden--he is the guy with his foot in his mouth and no one cares."

Goddammit, the subject is Sarah. If you want a Biden thread, start one. But someone say something to defend Sarah. ANYthing. Talk about crickets from the great unwashed. Sheesh. herm

Nobody would care if McCain weren't significantly closer to death than middle age. The last presidential election where the VP choice made a difference was Lyndon Johnson carrying Texas for Kennedy.

There's a litany of Bozos. Spiro Agnew? Dan Quayle? Has anyone heard of William Miller? - ran with Goldwater and later did an American Express Commercial centering around the fact that no one knew who he was.

VP candidates aren't chosen for their presidential capabilities. Their picked to attract a constituency that the candidate feels they need to win.

Agnew was supposed to attract moderate, blue color, first generation immigrants. Unfortunately he was a tax evading crook as well.

That should be wasn't. Jeez . . .

Even with the wachy dame it is Mcsame's to lose.

Mission Accomplished.

McSame can't dump Palin without pissing off women and talibaptists.

Palin's role was to solidify McCain with his base, and to potentially appeal to soccer moms who supported Hillary.

The first part worked - at first - but even now seems to be fizzling, while the second part backfired almost completely.

I would not be surprised to see Palin back out (voluntarily or with behind-the-scenes arm-twisting), but it's hard to see the McCain campiagn recovering from this debacle. Unless Obama makes a serious error, the only thing McCain has gonig for him are the proclivity of Diebold voting machines to tilt towards GOP-favored outcomes.

is there anyone else who can keep an eye on the
russians from their house?

Moscow-to-Wasilla: 4,315 miles.

Moscow-to-NYC: 4,674 miles.

(Google Earth)

Kent -- Those scary voting machines! For my own comfort, BO would have to make a big goof-up to have me even consider McSame + Palin. And even if Palin were dumped for Hagel, which would have originally made an awesome "maverick" ticket, I have come to seriously question McSame's judgement, mental stability and leadership by his choice of Palin.

Jeez, democracy does NOT work ....

The only problem with this is another saying:

The guys you mentioned aren't idiots. I'm sure you disagree most of the time and the 3 of you probably bicker and argue with each other to the pont of all out assholery. They're not stupid, they're just in denial about the fact that SARAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is a fucking tard.

Granted Mrs. Palin demonstrates a certain lack of knowledge, but where were/are all her detractors when Obama demonstrates the same? You all think he's some smart guy when he's really a doofus who has been spoon fed answers, as I'm sure Palin is being fed.

Did you all notice the damage control the dems were trying to give when the 700 billion dollar deal ended in a blow up? Harry Sleeze Reid tried to blame it on McCain and his interference. Yet the same sleeze-Reid noted that John McCain added nothing to the discussion with very little said by McCain. Hmmmmm...so McCain blew everything up, but said very little??? Uhuh...right!

Truth is, Obama blew it up and dems were covering for him with their blame McCain talking points. And Obama blew it up cuz he had not teleprompter there to funnel him things to be said. He had to shoot from the hip (ie. think on his own two feet), and he exploded the whole meeting.

This guy is a doofus!

Granted Mrs. Palin demonstrates a certain lack of knowledge

In every area.

You didn't watch the debates on Friday night, did you? Even FOX News Focus Group gave Obama higher marks than McCain.

See, if you're 'spoon fed' answers you're supposed to be able to say them out loud during interviews. Palin couldn't even pull that off with Cliff Notes in her lap. The interview with Couric wasn't too long. 90 minutes on Thursday night should provide fodder for comedy routines for years to come.

You're no doubt a Bush voter, so we understand you love voting for obviously unqualified people for high office in the U.S.

Yes, I watched the debates. And Obama sounded like he had a lot of memorized book knowledge on the specific subject at hand (ie. he knew what the debate was going to be about.) But look at how he does when the subject is not one he's been given spoon fed info....as in Russia's invasion of Georgia and Obumhead was immediately asked to give his opinion. He floundered with an answer that make no kind of commitment (kind of like voting "present")...cuz he doesn't know what to say.

He's simply a shill who gets coached. And when he doesn't have a teleprompter, Dems bite their nails with anxiety.

Again, look at what dems had to do to cover his Messiah Ass when he, and not McCain, blew up the meeting. Obama is a real joke!

Joke? 100 years of war ain't funny, bub.
Obama will change this BuschCo shitstorm. McCain will only change his Depends.

The debate....

Obama supplied rhetoric --- and liberals made plenty noises declaring him the winner.

McCain exhibited experience --- and he held on to his base. They made less noise.
