"Contrary to post-invasion predictions, the first foreign contract for the development of an Iraqi oil field has not gone to a western oil major," The Hindu newspaper in India reports. In August, Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain Al Shahristani signed a $3 billion oil contract with the state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation.

"We beg to differ. They got an oil contact. We got the whole fucking country'

The Mad Ayatollahs of Iran.

Go China!

Yeah!

Cheen wansoy!

I wish China gets to all the oil everywhere before that hijo-de-puta in the White House can drink a drop of it.

Hey, let China prosper: this nation still has a long way to go. The US has been the economic engine and pulling the nations to prosperity, and now other nations should step in and contribute. If China prospers, the US will have a better market worldwide.

BTW, we have enough oil right here in the country but it is the enviro-talibans holding the drillings hostage. My sense is that before we tap our resources deeply, alternative sources of energy will come into play big time. In the interim, if you want to see faster prosperity, get moving to free up our own resources.

Good spelling TOSSER, the son of a B---h is doing exactly what he should be doing, PROTECTING US FROM IDIOT DEMOCRATS AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, and their asinine policies!

The contract to China was let before the invasion, signed, waiting to be acted on! It was therefore easy to implement, getting something started in that area of the country!

The contract is for ROYALTY payments (and a small percentage of profits for tech services) over a 13 year time frame, at which time they will either renegotiate OR rescind it! This is very OLD news!

Everything else, just as in THIS country, must be submitted for bid and approval process! After all, you wouldn't want HALIBURTON to win anything, right?

From what your beloved Democrats did in the House on Energy Independence, you may get your wish referencing China sooner than you think!

"we have enough oil right here in the country"

bullshit

"TakeItEz leads the league in stupid."

John Maddon

"BTW, we have enough oil right here in the country"

For what?

Drill, baby drill.

"Drill, baby drill."

And how much will sucking every possible drop out of the ground give us, and when?

World Proved Reserves of Oil and Natural Gas, Most Recent Estimates

www.eia.doe.gov

Oil & Gas Journal January 1, 2008

United States 20.972 billion barrels

About a 1,000 day supply for the US alone.

North America 211.214 billion barrels

Central & South America 109.857 billion barrels

Europe 14.268 billion barrels

Eurasia 98.886 billion barrels

Middle East 748.286 billion barrels

Africa 114.838 billion barrels

Asia & Oceania 34.350 billion barrels

World Total 1,331.698 billion barrels

The US alone, at the present rate of consumption, can run the world dry in 182.5 years.

And before takituptheass does his stupid oil shale dance once again, it takes more than a barrel of oil in energy to get a barrel of oil from shale. It has the energy density of a phone book.

we have enough oil right here in the country but it is the enviro-talibans holding the drillings hostage

How many millions of acres are currently under lease for oil production yet there is no drilling being done on them?

This is treason by Bush.

More than 4100 of our military kids are dead and Bush lies us into a war only to give the "prize" of Iraq's oil to Communist China?

I mean if we went to war there based on Bush's lies then at least let our country
get something for it.

Bush should be dragged out of the White House and run out of the country.

Is there ANYTHING Bush will not do or give away or sell to his best, best friend COMMUNIST China? Anything at all?

Just exactly which government is Bush working for?

Chris-when Bush apologised to China when they skyjacked that spyplane in 2001, we should have seen this coming.
And with Mcsame as their manchurian candidate....

Alaska alone can release 1 million barrels a day.

iraq had no bid contracts with shell, exxon and others but the dems in congress put a stop to that, walla china now has the oil.

Yeah son, we did spoil every beach in North America and kill every fish in the ocean. But look at the bright side son, we got three years worth more oil out of the deal and I could drive my Hummer a little longer. Oh? What's a Hummer? Well son, back when your Grandma was younger we liked to drive the biggest, meanest, gas guzzlinist military vehicle to the store to buy groceries. All the other ladies were real jealous so they bought the largest, toughest, meanest vehicles that they could afford too. It was real cool. We'd get to the store and compare vehicles, mine was always the biggest and toughest. But then, sorry son, we did finally run out of oil and now those are just memories. Sometimes I wonder though, do you kids hate us???

Whoa!!!

They treated the arabs as human beings and the arabs made a lucrative deal supplying them with oil.

Oh, the horror!!!

"walla "

illiterate flag

That's the best you got????

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
A

It's never Bush's fault.

Repeat after me.

It's never Bush's Fault.

Squawk.

The Right. In denial, insane, incompetent and incoherent.

Give people who hate you democracy and they will democratically choose leaders who reflect their dislike of you. I didn't expect us to see this with Iraq until we leave but this isn't very surprising at all.

Or put another way.

Invade their country pre-emptively based on lies and kill, bomb and maim 10,000 to 50,000 of them in the ridiculously unequal initial military operation. Sit back and bask in "Mission Accomplished" while making no effort to return the country to stability and law and order. In fact do the oppposite by installing a clueless crony to manage a band of ludicrously unqualified people, or overpaid mercenaries, hired more for who they knew than what they knew and who were ideologically sound on the make Republicans and/or cronies of Bushco. Watch an insurgency grow and foreign terrorists infiltrate the country, incarcerate and torture innocent people and let the country slide into civil war and its infrastructure go to hell, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths, directly and indirectly. Turn about 4 million people into external and internal refugees.

Wait 5+ years for the second, third or fourth government you installed to get to a level of 20% effectiveness and autonomy. Then wonder why it pursues policies unfavorable to you and favorable to your geopolitical rivals.

Then blame it all on everybody else.

I wish China gets to all the oil everywhere before that hijo-de-puta in the White House can drink a drop of it.
