Being a nation of laws rather than a nation subject to the king's edict has nothing to do with the differentiation beween reality and fiction even if the intermediation of a social process is used. It doesn't validate or invalidate the reality of the termination of human life by abortion and late term abortion, and the infanticide involved in denying aid to a helpless baby who was not killed in the abortion attempt, so that the baby dies.

Are you really that naive as to believe that a baby left to die untended for 18 hours is not infanticide, that the person denying help to the vulnerable infant is not culpable because "the law" says it's okay to let the baby die?

I suppose that Nazi Germany was "a nation of laws," so that their Holocaust was justified by "being legal." Think of the implications of your position, Corky. You apparently support termination of life in the womb. You then extend it to termination of life of a living breathing viable infant. What a "moral" position. But then, "morality" is also a matter of definition. You have yours, which makes "law" a justification for any action.

Tell me Corky, if "the law" is changed, and abortionists and anyone voluntarily participating in an abortion, were subject to mandatory execution, would you then attempt to justify that conclusion on the basis that "We are a nation of laws?" That is your position.
