Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

"Of all the advantages Gov. Sarah Palin has brought to the GOP ticket, the most important may be that she has gotten into Barack Obama's head," Karl Rove claims. "How else to explain Sen. Obama's decision to go one-on-one against 'Sarah Barracuda,' captain of the Wasilla High state basketball champs?"

History will remember Obama as some one who blew off a woman VP candidate that got 18 million primary votes, and who was too focused on lipstick and pigs instead of hope and change. Dukakis, Gore, Kerry & Co. will be waiting to shake his hand at the Losers Lounge the day after the election.

And where's Biden, you might ask? Why, he's out doing what Biden does best:

Biden slipped a bit during the introductions, through no fault of his own. In introducing local elected officials, from Ninth District Congressional candidate Judy Baker to former Gov. Roger Wilson, Biden tried to give a special recognition to Sen. Chuck Graham of Columbia.

"Chuck, stand up, let the people see you," Biden says. He was a bit chagrined when he realized that Graham uses a wheelchair. He recovered quickly and told the crowd to "stand up for Chuck." The crowd responded with a standing cheer for Graham.

I agree.
You definitely have a problem.

Doc, if that were his only problem, it would be an easy fix.

726 - LOL!

"too focused on lipstick and pigs"

I think the liars are going to discover that America isn't quite as stupid as they hope.
Obviously, BTW, Cookfish is a liar because after watching that little part of Obama's speech only a liar would still contend he called Palin a pig.

Cookfish is an annoyance and partisan hack. Hey cookie don't you have some cheese steaks to eat?

Karl Rove?
Karl Ratfuck Rove?
You could cover that bum with lipstick and rouge, douse him in perfume, wrestle him into a designer dress, put pumps on his hooves, and he'd still be what he's always been.
A pig.

"You could cover that bum with lipstick and rouge, douse him in perfume, wrestle him into a designer dress, put pumps on his hooves..."

And wouldn't Karl absolutely LOVE it!

"And wouldn't Karl absolutely LOVE it!"

I sure would!
I'd be like a pig covered in. . .
Well, not shit, exactly.
More like a pig covered in. . .
lipstick and rouge, perfume and a designer dress, and pumps.
But I'd still be a pig!
~Karl "Porky" Rove

"put pumps on his hooves.."

now that's special.

But you see how Rove continues to control the conversation?

If Mr. Obama wants to win, he needs to remember he's running against John McCain for president, not Mrs. Palin for vice president.

He calls Palin "Mrs.", characterizing her as somebody's mother and wife. People won't even realize he said it, but it will affect their thought processes.

Democrats are so far behind the curve on this... Carville doesn't even come close (and for the record, I dig Carville).

Hagbard -

Anybody who thinks Rove is stupid hasn't been paying attention. He's vile, odious, beyond cynical, but stupid? Uh-uh.

Follow up on that, Hagbard: Have you read Joe McGinnis' The Selling of the President? It offers a masterful, insightful, informed and informative peek into some of the goings on in Richard Nixon's 1968 presidential campaign. From the ad-making, manipulating minds side of the shop. Rove, the Rovians, they're all derivatives of Nixon's '68 campaign.

I'm afraid there's truth in this packaging thesis. Women, after all, appear remain anxious to be just like Barbie. If McCain looked like Ken we'd really be screwed.

No, haven't read it, doc. been looking for a new book too (I've been slacking lately). I'm gonna check it out. Thanks.

If McCain looked like Ken we'd really be screwed.

That's why Romney cries himself to bed every night.

Women, after all, appear remain anxious to be just like Barbie.

Just like fat barbie, women now adays seem to be nothing but big whales with G-strings making them think they are sexy.

Hagbard - There'll probably be nothing that's particularly revelatory in it for you, but it's interesting to get a sense of what McGinnis was looking at forty years ago. I really believe that's where the political process started getting seriously damaged, when the advertising crews took over. After all, what do we have today? Sound-bite politics. Please let me know what you think if you do give it a read.

Will do, doc.

If Karl Rove writes in the Wall Street Journal that Obama will lose if he attacks Sarah Palin, there is only one possible reason.

He knows attacking Sarah Palin as the lightweight she is will work!

Always do the opposite of what Karl Rove says in public.

Or is he now so twisted that his message has the double meaning that he will be able to say Obama won by "unfairly attacking" McCain and Sarah Palin.

This election is not about them, either of them. This election is about getting rid of the Bush-Cheney bullshit and making a fresh start. There is only one team remotely trying to do that.

This election is about more than earmarks and lipstick.

There is only one team remotely trying to do that.

Key word there is "remotely"

To many, that's as bad as "not at all"

Then it becomes a toss up.

I don't like Rove but ignore his political advice at your own peril. The words "Sarah Palin" should not be uttered by Obama again in this campaign.
The most successful politician of our time was Bill Clinton, his campaign got it right...
IT'S THE ECONOMY STUPID! Nothing else matters. Pound on the economy, pound on McCain's pretense of having a plan for the economy.
Every day wasted talking about Sarah Palin is a victory for the McCain campaign.

Obama is obviously listening to idiots when you consider that he didn't choose Hilary Clinton for VP, whoever talked him into that decision should be fired immediately.

true. that's why i believe bin biden will bow out and her heinous will step in. call it intuition.

then it'll be a real catfight!

Danni - at least if he had chosen Hillary we would never have heard the name Sarah Palin.

Problem is, if he had, Hillary would now be the subject of every Republican attack imaginable, on her and Bill, old and new, money and sex and everything else under the kitchen sink, and you might be saying today

"Oh, I wish he hadn't chosen Hillary"

if the world was a perfect place

rovey and bin laden would be executed together

I just gave myself whiplash reading danni's post.

*ouch

Weren't you arguing against his chosing HRC at the time?

then it'll be a real catfight!

Probably his old lady.

In Denver two weeks ago, Mr. Obama said, "If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from." That's what he's trying to do, only the object of his painting is Sarah Palin, not John McCain.

Worth repeating. Bammy's come full circle to embrace the poor behavior that he supposedly totally despised. And he has no record worth mentioning. I wish RonyToma would come back and explain with a two-page Huff n'paste why Obama can't even attempt to compete against McCain. I would personally welcome him back if he would publicly apologize for becoming temporarily brainwashed, and admit he's a paid schill.

"Huff n'paste"

For some reason that cracked me up.

Obama does seem to be blowing it.

Ummmmmm....consider the source....KKKarl Rove.

He'd tell you his mother is a virgin if he thought it would get votes.

don't forget...rove has a vested interest in mccain winning in november. if obama wins, bush, cheney and rove may be held accountable for their crimes committed. with the no bid contracts handed out to kbr (poppy bush's company) and halliburton (cheney has 1,000,000+ shares)the war profiteering charge could be in play. wouldn't it be o henry irony if bush, who presided over more executions than any other governor in US history, ends up hanging from the gallows for his treason.

bush, cheney and rove are all very nervous and will do anything and say anything to save their asses.

Problem is, if he had, Hillary would now be the subject of every Republican attack imaginable, on her and Bill, old and new, money and sex and everything else under the kitchen sink, and you might be saying today

That wouldn't have been a problem at all. They couldn't have brought out anything that wasn't brought out before, long ago. Decades ago in fact. Nothing new they could have brought out about Hillary.

If Palin was a Democrat the Rethuglicans would be all over her like ugly on a lipsticked pig!

COOKFISH did a good job of digging out this piece about the political genios, Karl Rove. It must have been hard to find among all those hit pieces on Sarah Palin.

Flop Ears got bitch slapped by a woman and is back on his high heels.

Choosing Hilary would have just brought a different set of problems with it. The top of the ticket is who people primarily vote for. Obama is going to have to sell his change to America, if they at least get past Lipstickgate and other distractions I think he has a good chance. McBush is going to keep up with more just like it though and Obama is going to have to be able to laugh at them and then get America laughing at them too. Good joke writers would be very helpful. They need to make a laughing stock out of McCain's lying, his lack of ideas and get away from personality.

"Flop Ears got bitch slapped by a woman and is back on his high heels."

Until yesterday I would actually agree, but yesterday Obama made McBush look foolish and America noticed. It will be getting harder for McBush to keep playing these "victim" cards because America already is hearing whining from McBush.

Obama is not running against Palin, he is running against McBush.

This infatuation with Palintology will soon pass.

Then what will be the Rethugs be left with?

McLame!

Mr. Poopypants and his sidekick the MILF.

yeah looks bad for the Dems.

meanwhile the economy is in the crapper, Health Care is abysmal, and The Wars drag on and on and on.

yeah sure looks bad for them dems. If they don't win this one they might as well give up.

Not many people think that but, it was in very bad taste in light of what she said a few days earlier.

When he goes off the tel-a-prompter his mouth becomes uncontrolable and stupid things come out.

Obama is obviously listening to idiots when you consider that he didn't choose Hilary Clinton for VP, whoever talked him into that decision should be fired immediately.

He can't really "fire" Michelle.

Sniper

No--you just have stupid hearing.

Nothing new they could have brought out about Hillary.

Like drivers licenses for illegal immigrants? Not reading the entire security report before voting to attack Iraq? Yeah she doesn't have any new skeletons.

You have to love all the posts ripping Rove like he is some amateur. He snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Twice no less. Looks like he won't be needed for the repubs to go three for three.

CrispeeOC

None of those things are new, and no big deal--Bush brags about not reading anything. The Illegal imigrants are on the road--I'd rather they knew what they were doing. You blame her for voting on Iraq---but not Bush for going to Iraq.

Interesting.

The fact that Karl Rove has not been struck down by lightning is the best argument I know against the existence of a God.

"Obama Can't Win Against Palin"

Tell us something we don't know.

A cute Governor from Alaska talks for 15 minutes and its all over????????????????????

Obama is running against McCain. BUt, the two are sounding more and more like eachother every day, meanness excepted.

Were he to win, McCain would be the most dangerous man we have ever had with one finger on the button.

Interesting.

Did Bush lose the dem primary? Blame her? I laugh at her. Says so much about a state electing some outsider because of her name.

Glass houses and all.

Gotta love the repulitards who keep quoting Obama's 'Lipstick' remark - which he used as a rhetorical remark against McLame - who, BTW, used the same phrase not once...

not twice...

not three times...

FOUR TIMES.

Yes McLame said it's like "Putting lipstick on a pig"

FOUR TIMES.

Count that? One, Two, Three, Four

TIMES.

Dream on Republicans and Rove. You've lost the hearts and minds of America.

And you've lost the election.

Why does Eisenhower Hate Texas?

Obama is even or down 1-3 points in the polls. Me panic..........NOT (Borat, thank you). In 2000 Bush was behind in all the polls and look what...Oh never mind;-)

Dump, Texas is just a little dirty and needs a power wash. Ever been to Houston? A whore's ass is cleaner....

Obama is 'down in the polls' - which have an margin of error of +3-4 points???

BWAHAHAHAHAHA

And that is among 'likely voters' and do not include the huge amount of young people who have registered to vote and are inelligible for the polls because they have CELL PHONES which the POLSTERS don't call.

So you better be worried, Bore-Ass.

it's dead even, and I wouldn't say either side has a lock on it. Rove.....screw him he's an idiot!

Wow. I think that is the 22nd time I have read that today on Drudge. Thanks for the original post.

Dave I agree, It's dead even. If one party or the other can not establish a REAL lead after the convention... It means a tight battle.

Dump, I'm tired of the "cell phone" bullshit. I believed in it when Kerry lost. Know I do not...

And that is among 'likely voters'

I always though likely voters was the Cadillac of polls.

Maybe it will sink into your fat head on the 22nd time -

but then again, you don't seem to have the same opinion about the multiple posts BASHING obama for saying it.

Fat heads are as fat heads do.

I hoped for a similar effect with Ron Paul during the primaries. That turned out not so well.

but then again, you don't seem to have the same opinion about the multiple posts BASHING obama for saying it.

I didn't think he said it either. His gaff was choosing that line instead of the other 1000 metaphors he could have used. All he had to do was say something when the crowd misunderstood and applauded his line as though he were calling Palin a pig. They started cheering and stood up appreciating the so called insult. This could have been avoided if Obama was in touch with his audience.

Live it's all BS as far as I'm concerned. It's never panned out. Peace out DR. Just opened a bottle of 94 red Spanish Table Wine. It hasn't disapointed thus far!

No, Obama should not have picked Clinton. The ads were already written.

Obama probably should have picked someone like Sebelius, though. I had a real strong hunch that if Obama went for male, pale, and stale, McCain would pick someone audacious.

I might vote for Obama, but I don't think he will win.
I think he could win if he dropped 2 issues that don't effect him, homosexuality and abortion.
I don't know why the Dems hold on to those things, they are losing the older people, and by the time their target audience gets older (kids) they will be losing them to new democratic issues such as beastality.

As a Democrat, I appreciate Karl Rove's concern for the success of the party in November. I hope he isn't being kept up nights with worry that Obama might lose.

Rove?

Isn't this the same guy caught saying one thing about the possible Dem VP and exactly contradicting himself when referring to the Republican VP?

And isn't this the same guy famous for his willingness to lie about anything up to this point?

Okay...just checking.

I'd like to see Sarah Palin bitch slap the nobama piece of shit. But she won't cause she has more class, honor and dignity than the whole damned bunch of librul assclowns. nobama would'nt make a pimple on her arse, he is too low brow, directionless, clueless, and just an all around follower.

Do yourself a favor: lay off the absinthe.

SARAH! She is already kicking the savior Obama's butt! Why do you think he is talking about her and not McCain!

GO SARAH, GO SARAH!

Obama screwed up when he did not pick Clinton!!!! LOL! What a loser!

2006, Karl. 2006. Sad when people outlive their credibility. Even when they are a disgusting POS like Rove.

BTW, Karl. Obama is running against McCain. The more dimwitted among GOP supporters may not realize that but they were going to vote Republican anyway.

"Rove: Obama Can't Win Against Palin"

Illegal absentee ballot applications, push polls, any dirty tricks they can pull.

Hopefully not this time. Hopefully the public will demand a fair election free of the chicanery and dirty tricks of the past.

What are they so afraid of?

AU- check out ohio's voter caging problem.

I believe Obama is a honorable man.

A solid Christian.

He has a calling for public service. He is bright and has the capacity/ability to do great things as a great leader.

My advice has been, if he lose this election, EXIT gracefully (because he still has a bright future) and come back 8 years later.

Obama has already made history, win or lose!

The most successful politician of our time was Bill Clinton,

You only said 'successful politician'

Oh, for fucks sake, stop fondling your Taiwanese "You Nummah One," ditch the bottle of absinthe, and take a bath, you ridiculous old fart.

Karl Rove is slime, but he's also brilliant.

He's correct that Osama can't win against Mrs. Palin; but he also knows that by stating this so publicly, he's goading the Democrats into increasing their silly attacks against her.

Then, when Osama loses, he can claim victory.

Please, Lefty clowns, keep trying to smear Mrs. Palin. Be Rove's bitch. I don't care for Osama or McCain, but it will be much more fun poking you dipshits after Osama loses.

The guy who pissed away the Reagan economy?

Reagan ran up record debt until W beat his record. Clinton ran up a surplus.

I can guess which of the 3 you voted for. So glad you moved out the of the US.

Does McCain agree we should go to war with Russia over Georgia?

Does Palin disagree with McCain?

Oh me, oh my. . .

Good advice from Drunk_Sarvis. He prefers those big bottles of cheap vodka -- more bang for the buck, and spare change for Taco Bell.

He's correct that Osama can't win against Mrs. Palin;

That's because they're not running for the same job, dummy. Obama can beat McCain, and palin will go away with him.

Vernon- Taco bell beats the thai tacos you munch on all day.

Nice try, Vermin.
But, like everything you attempt, lame.
Too bad you couldn't make it in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
But, really, do keep trying.

I don't like Rove but ignore his political advice at your own peril.

I REALLY don't like Rove but assume his political advice is frank and sincere at your own peril.

I bet his own wife wonders what he's up to when he says, "Good morning."

Obama has spent 17 months of his less than 3 year stint as US Senator campaigning for his White House run. In Illinois, the unemployment rate is the 5th highest in the country and the 13th highest in foreclosures.

If Obamas neglect for the great state Illinois is a template for change we are screwed. These facts are impossible to invalidate.

Obama deserves to loose.

When Karl Rove starts losing elections he should win--instead of winning elections he should lose--one can then ignore him.

Fact is, Obama's biggest enemy isn't McCain or Palin or Rove, but Obama himself. Smart Repubs like myself--if you'll excuse the self-celebration-- were certain that he would choose Sebelius, or maybe Clinton, and nail the election down. The Biden pick was so mystifying, simply because of the safety and blandness of it, that I at first wondered if I had missed something in Biden. I didn't. As soon as I saw his horrible speech, I knew that McCain suddenly had a chance, which he took.

Since early May, Obama's become just another pol, running desperately to where he thinks he can find support in the middle, where he keeps bumping into McCain, who actually lives there. And for all the vitriol poured out on Rove, most libs suspect he's probably right. Again.

I was shaking in my shoes afraid that Obama would be SMART enough to pick Hillary. Well, he was DUMN enough not to pick her. Cocky idiot. He really though that he's a new emperor, a God, everyone is just in love with him and his stupid speeches. What a surprise, a revelation. Not everyone IS in love with Obama. Republicans have not yet got to seriously discussing his associations with his beloved Rev. AmericaHater.Write. Or his Billy Airs friendship, or how he got his mansion in Chicago. This is all going to start popping out in the later part of the campaign. Now he'll get what he deserves to begin with. Nothing. Oh hell have some wonderful opportunities to prove his worth to this country and to continue his stellar senatorial career by voting PRESENT. That is until some other hack from Chicago political machine will de-throne him back to the community organizer. Or perhaps hell move to Kenya and run for president there. Now there is a worthwhile thought

obama should egnore palin and bush and pay attention
to mclain as i have said before his staff ain't ready for prime time-or he has too much ego to share the front page
