Did it ever occur to you that she, like many others, chose to have more than 2.2 kids? And, that she did so with knowledge about the existence of and proper usage of contraception?

"Doing It" is really irrelevant to political discussions. We can stipulate that Sarah Did It, Bristol Did It and Barack's mother Did It.

Relevant is the related hypocrisy. And the GOP exhibits the most hypocrisy hands down. Republicans Do It in men's rooms and with under age pages.. herm

Partisan sniping notwithstanding, it is a responsibility of all parents with teenage children to educate them about the realities of teen pregnancy and birth control. Sometimes the children may not listen, but it is the parents responsibility to make the effort.
Along those lines, the issue involving Sarah Palin might go away if she were to tell the public that in fact she and her husband did have that conversation with their teenage daughter, but the daughter did not listen. What fuels this issue in the context of the political race, is that by emphasizing abstinence only and religion, the impression has been given that Mom and daughter never had a heart to heart talk about birth control. Given the rate of teenage pregnancy in this country, failure of a parent to address this issue with a daughter is of course a legitimate political topic deserving scrutiny in this day and age.

Actually, most parents today are as ignorant about sex as their kids. It 's like the blind leading the blind. Kids today need ACCURATE sex education. They are going to have sex no matter how many times they are told to wait. It is a natural bodily function and being embarrassed to talk to your kids is the real problem. Sex was and is and will always be. Education is the key and many parents could learn a few things first before teaching their kids some old and misinformed ideas.
