Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The McCain campaign won't approve media interviews for Gov. Sarah Palin aside perhaps from reporters in Alaska, a campaign aide told Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic. "Until she's ready -- and until she's comfortable -- which might not be for a long while -- the media will have to wait," Ambinder was told.

"According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don't care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy. According to Wallace -- in an appearance I did with her this morning on Joe Scarborough's show -- the American people will learn all they need to know (and all they deserve to know) from Palin's scripted speeches and choreographed appearances on the campaign trail and in campaign ads."

Wow... just... WOW.

Anyone that would vote for a candidate that won't submit to any questions is crazier than Palin.
I think Republicans must like having their intelligence insulted by their own party.

John McCain campaign aide tells Jay Carney that she sees no reason why Sarah Palin should have to answer reporters' queries

Why should she answer questions about her policies or past? She wrestled a moose goddammit! That alone qualifies her for VP.

And they call Obama an empty suit. Palin won't even rise to that level.

It is sad that Phred considers her a breath of fresh air (between her ears).

Empty dress?

Oh gee, the Palin worshippers aren't here posting a good explanation for their Goddess's silence.....

I am by no means a Palin worshiper. I disagree with her supposed choice not to answer questions. However, given the fact that the media will obviously be obsessed with trying to trip her up on virtually anything, I can see why she wouldn't.

Now that Obama went on to a show where the host wasn't begging to service him, Palin should consider sitting down with some hostile press some time in 2010.

the huff post guy is exagerating what was said

but the campaign lady is completely wrong

"who cares"

i care

"Palin should consider sitting down with some hostile press some time in 2010."

Maybe she will, as part of her campaign for reelection as Governor of Alaska. ; )

According to Nicole Wallace of the McCain campaign, the American people don't care whether Sarah Palin can answer specific questions about foreign and domestic policy....

Err, yes we do care.

CAN'T WAIT for the Mayor of Mooseville's VP debate on October 2 with battlin' Joe Biden.

I'm already popping up bowls of popcorn and stocking up on Kalua and vodka for my Black Russians.

Oh what a night!

They are going to give her a crash course on the the foreign policy stuff over the the next 7-10 days and then she will start doing the interviews. She will be able to answer the basic questions like Obama when he started the campaign and will get better as time passes. She seems to have a good memory so she will answer questions with canned responses.

If Obama strays from the script he kinda struggles too. The big difference is that she only needs to demonstrate basic knowledge while he has to provide direction which is more difficult.

Maybe she will, as part of her campaign for reelection as Governor of Alaska. ; )

You're a racist. I notice you won't party with Bloody Maria's.

However, given the fact that the media will obviously be obsessed with trying to trip her up on virtually anything, I can see why she wouldn't.

By that logic, no candidate should answers questions ever.

I don't want to pay taxes, but I realize that it is the product of wanting to make money to pay for things that I want and need.

Mayor Mooseville is supposedly an adult and should know that the press will want to ask tough questions to vet her.

This type of "leadership" may be the way things are done in a town of 5,000, but she is in the big leagues right now and needs to sack up.

If she makes it to the VP office will she refuse to meet with world leaders because she is afraid to as well?

How can anyone say they support her when they have never even heard her answer any questions or discuss anything important???
What do Republicans base their decision about who to vote for on????

we live in a fucking democracy, she should not be above answering our questions

What are the chances this douche agreed with Edwards that the Dems should refuse to do a debate on Fox?

What do Republicans base their decision about who to vote for on????

Like that little scamp Nipper, they await the sound of their master's voice: www.dasganzewerk.de

Danni,

It is because her experience speaks for itself.

Plain and simple. How could it not?

She lived close to Russia and right next door to Canada, so she is immenently qualified.

Hell Captain Sig Hansen pilots his crab boat closer to Russia than Sarah ever has been so I guess that makes him more qualified in foreign relations. Why the hell didn't McCain pick him?

What are the chances this douche agreed with Edwards that the Dems should refuse to do a debate on Fox?

#18 | Posted by 101Chairborne

About the same as your mother considering to keep the afterbirth instead of you.

btw this is typical of the republicans for the past 8 years. scripted townhall meetings with w, completely inaccessible WH and VP, just more of the same

look how W did in the debates 4 years ago to see what happens when the republicans are forced to answer questions.

americans should witnes what british politicians go through with their media and in their parliament for a lesson on democracy in action.

Wallback,
So you were all for it then, you hypocritical turd?

"we live in a fucking democracy,"

Supposedly.

"she should not be above answering our questions"

In a real democracy she couldn't get away with it.

Now it will be interesting to see how the "librul media" treats this. From what I have seen the last day or so they will not say anything and act like a VP nominee refusing to talk to the press is normal and appropriate. This is utter bull shit and even you righties know it.

"She lived close to Russia and right next door to Canada"

Well, yes, of course.
But let's not forget Mu.
Or Lemuria.
They're just a few thousand miles under Alaska.
Makes 'em, well, makes 'em kinda like neighbors.
I think God even told Sarah he wants a blowhole constructed from Shambhala to Cicely with some of that money she never returned to Congress.

danni,

Because Republicans pretty much know what her views are on the issues. I don't need to see her in an interview to know her positions. An interview is just another performance no different than the speech she gave the other day.

Obama didn't talk to the national press at the beginning and only did the local media stuff. He has only started to do the national stuff when he knew he had beaten HRC.

"In a real democracy she couldn't get away with it."

She hasn't been elected yet. People can choose not to vote for her if they don't agree with the fact that she doesn't want to answer questions.

"Because Republicans pretty much know what her views are on the issues."

OMG! Hilarious. I knew some of y'all would give her a pass. It speaks volumes that you would actually vote for someone who won't answer questions. No wonder this country is in such a mess.

"Obama didn't talk to the national press at the beginning and only did the local media stuff."

Baloney.

Now it will be interesting to see how the "librul media" treats this.

They've already blown it:

Over half of U.S. voters (51%) think reporters are trying to hurt Sarah Palin with their news coverage, and 24% say those stories make them more likely to vote for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in November.
www.rasmussenreports.com

Should have stuck to her record.

Michelle Obama will answer questions of the press and she isn't running for anything.

Palin is an empty dress.

Danni's the one that openly admits she'll vote for anyone with a "D" after their name regardless of who it is, yet here she is trying to criticize other peoples rationales...

Too fucking much.

"She hasn't been elected yet."

Oh, so she shouldn't answer questions until after the election. lol. Yeah, that's a real democratic process you're advocating.

interviewing with the press is a veryimportant part of democracy or should be.

we get very few opportunities to get to know our candidates and the pressure of a real interview is often where the bullshit comes off and the true person comes out.

speeches and debates are so scripted as to be worthless, so we are left with press releases which are useless or opinion pieces which are slanted.

seeing a person react to harsh questioning brings out their character, exposes lies, demonstrates their strenghts.

I heard ex PM Tony Blair subjected to a scathing interview with a BBC reporter over iraq, (this was in 2006 I believe). The reporter took him to task on intelligence, casualties, lack of WMD,etc.

As much as I hated to admit, Tony Blair held his own and I developed some respect for him, but at the least he was subjected to grilling so we can hopefully get to some truth, I actually learned a thing or two.

When i see Bush interviewed I see the boy-man that he is, disinterested, with a shaky grasp on facts, often at odds with reality and those interviews are often fluff pieces compared to something the BBC would do.

We should EXPECT more from our candidates.

She hasn't been elected yet. People can choose not to vote for her if they don't agree with the fact that she doesn't want to answer questions.

#28 | Posted by joe

yep lots of choices to choose from.

The question I have is why would you not EXPECT and DEMAND she be subjected to questioning?

The sheep will vote for her because the pinheads on the right say she is a "reformur and mavurick".

Give me a fucking break, she is fluff. The McCain campaign already states that this election will "not be about issues".

Anyone really surprised that a candidate that does not want to campaign on issues will not answer questions?

I can see waiting a couple of weeks before doing interviews - Go out on the campaign trail and whip up that base, and all that.

However, she can only hide for so long before it becomes apparent that she's hiding.

She's going to have to do some serious interviews and she can't wait until the middle of October to do it. Oh, and going onto Leno doesn't constitute a serious interview.

Message to John McCain:

If you felt so strongly that she was your best choice for a running mate, you are going to have to show confidence in her and allow her to get before the press. If you don't, you'll lose this election.

"Oh, and going onto Leno doesn't constitute a serious interview."

Nor does talking with Sean Hannity.

"I can see waiting a couple of weeks before doing interviews "

You think Mitt Romney wouldn't have been on last Sunday's talk shows, or at least, this Sunday's shows?

"I heard ex PM Tony Blair subjected to a scathing interview with a BBC reporter over iraq,"

I often listen to BBC podcasts, and there's an amazing contrast between the interviews coming out of that quarter and the pap you see/hear in much of our media. When a politicians comes up for an interview with, say, John Humphrys, they better damn well have done their homework because he sure has. They can twist and turn and try to go for talking points, but when faced by a determined and informed interviewer they come across as pathetic shills trying to twist and turn and talking-point their way out of the embarrassment of their own mendacity.

I'm a straight ticket voter, yet I'm going to point fingers at somebody else's voting habits.
-Manni

The question I have is why would you not EXPECT and DEMAND she be subjected to questioning?

and that goes for Obama and Biden as well as McCain and Palin.

WE SHOULD ALL DEMAND THIS!

in fact not wanting this makes me question your sanity, your patriotism, your sincerity and a whole host of other things.

"Oh, and going onto Leno doesn't constitute a serious interview."

Nor does talking with Sean Hannity.

Start a thread on it. Isn't that the ridiculous advice you tried to give me ysterday?

Well she has to be pretty busy learning what a Globe represents.

You know she is in some locked room right now learning how to pronounce a variety of Countries.

did I hear something? did someone speak?

Tenacious reporters should start asking McCain why Sarah isn't giving interviews, immediately.

I also want tag banned because I was picked last in gym class.

"Danni's the one that openly admits she'll vote for anyone with a "D" after their name regardless of who it is,"

Oh I do admit I generally vote a straight Democratic ticket but I don't ever remember voting for anyone that wouldn't answer questions.
It strikes me that it is pretty obvious that anyone who would vote for Palin without requiring her to answer questions must also be a straight party line voter, just Republican. Only difference is I'm honest and not a hypocrit.

If McCain ends up trying to shield her from the press, I can see the October Obama ads now:

[ soundbyte ] He voted present over 130 times. He couldn't vote yes or no. I was too tough. [ /soundbyte ]

[ voice-over ] The Republican party claims that Barack Obama is too timid to be president. Barack Obama has done countless interviews with the press. Sarah Palin has done 1; with Fox News. Who's REALLY too timid to be president? [ /voice-over ]

That will play out big time with the voter and I don't think McCain can build enough of a lead to be able to deal with a slide in the final stretch.

So..... her husband became a Champion Snowmobile Racer while practising a quick getaway?

Makes sense to me.

So you're making fun of people, and basically calling them fools or suckers for doing the same thing you're doing?
Look, I agree, you're all a bunch of fucking stooges.

Hey, why should the new Republican Goddess answer questions anyway? She's the biggest celebrity in the country.

"Oh, so she shouldn't answer questions until after the election. lol. Yeah, that's a real democratic process you're advocating."

No. I'm disputing your claim that we don't have a "real democracy" just because Palin supposedly doesn't want to talk to reporters. I'm saying that if you're not sastisfied voting for her based on the limited knowledge you have of her, then vote for someone else. It'll be her fault for not speaking that she didn't get your vote.

Corky,
Apparently those in the know refer to them as snow-machines. Thank you very kindly for using the proper terminology in the future.

I on the other hand will continue to call them snowmobiles.

DR liberals:

Don't get your panties all knotted up. If she doesn't do at least a couple of interviews, McCain loses. She's generated so much of a media maelstorm and public interest. People want to see her - they want to get to know her better. If the public is denied access, they'll turn away.

Unless a whitey tape surfaces in October (it won't) or something dramatic happens in October, like getting Bin Laden; McCain is toast unless she does some press time.

damn!

Why doesn't someone tell me these things!

"So you're making fun of people, and basically calling them fools or suckers for doing the same thing you're doing?"

Not hardly because all of the candidates I have ever voted for spoke to the press and answered questions. I also knew something about them besides how they look or read a speech. I can honestly say I have never voted for anyone that was as strange as this Palin lady, she scares the hell out me.

101 are you planning to vote for her???

Are you a McCain supporter???

I don't know that I have ever seen you state clearly who you support.

I'm sure this, like so many Palin threads are true. Funny, she was in Wisconsin today, and called into a local talk show.

Calling in to a local talk show does not qualify as making yourself available for a serious, informed interview.

Oh wait. . .
I'm starting to that get tingly feeling. . .

Hi, there, folks!
It's me, Sarah, Sarah Palin.
Y'know, guys, governor of the state right next to the Soviet Union.
Well, hang in there.
Gotta go now.
It's really tiring doing this interviews, know what I mean?
Bye.
SWAK
Yup.

She ought to go on Jim Lehrer's show on PBS.

No, I'm not voting for McCain/Palin 08. I do not support McCain in the least bit (although I do defend him in regards to the POW smears).
I'm seriously considering voting for Barr, but seeing as though that would be a waste (NY is going Obama regardless) I may as well have fun and vote McKinney.

Sorry if it cost you any sleep.

I'm sure Hannity will be doing a hard hitting interview with Palin any day now. Maybe he'll even let Colmes ask her who does her nails.

TH,

Did the Washtington Times story create a national blur, with all sorts of pundits calling into question Biden's parenting skills?

Was Biden then chasised by the media for even staying in politics when he should have been home raising his kids - after his wife died?

Don't be disingenuous. You are comparing apples and oranges and you know it.

I can see it now:

McCain camp: After what the media did to her, do you think she's going to grant you dicks microphone time?

Response: As she's a heartbeat away from the presidency - if she can't handle the media dicks, how can she handle Ahmediniblowjob?

What's good for the goose and all that.

I've heard more about Palin's 17 year old unemployed pisspot than I have heard about Joe Biden's lobbyist son whose firm has succesfully lobbied good old Joe.

Having a lobbyist for a son must be tough on a ticket that sold all of it's lemmings "Hope and Change" and that also pretends to make clear that lobbyists are persona non grata.

Let's forget about Joe Biden's plagarism and racial gaffes and instead focus on a 17 year old...

Has anyone heard a single solitary word from the MSM in the past couple of weeks in regards to Bidens son, Bidens plagarism, or Bidens racial gaffe?

Investigation into Palin Now on Fast Track
Sources Tell ABC News that Report Will Be Released Almost Three Weeks Early
By LEN TEPPER

September 5, 2008

ABC News has exclusively learned that Alaska Senator Hollis French will announce today that he is moving up the release date of his investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her office to get the Alaska public safety commissioner, Walt Monegan, fired. The results of the investigation were originally scheduled for release Oct. 31 but will now come almost three weeks earlier, according to sources.

The announcement is set for 9 a.m. AKDT time.

The Alaska state senator running an investigation of Gov. Palin had accused the McCain campaign of using stall tactics to prevent him from releasing his final report by Oct. 31, four days before the November election.

"It's likely to be damaging to the Governor's administration," said Senator Hollis French, a Democrat, appointed the project manager for a bi-partisan State Senate Legislative Counsel Committee investigation.

Palin, who has denied any wrongdoing and has said she has nothing to hide, has hired private lawyers to represent her in the matter.

I think I'll start calling truthhurts "Trig Hurts."

"Don't worry, the McCain camp will back off this siliness and she'll give microphone time."

Your Goddess speaking to Hannity doesn't count.

Gidget is a cowardess. Who knew?

7 days and not a single interview from the Republican Goddess. Sounds like a coward to me.

She's a wacko dispensationalist. What more do you need to know? Then there's the other wacko, the community organizer. Another Jesse Jackson. This country is fucked.

apparently the librarian look.

"That's why she will talk to the press when she is ready."

Nov. 5th.

Maybe. It looks to me like she is most effective at this time making speeches. What impatience. She only made her convention speech two days ago.

"apparently the librarian look."

"What impatience."

She's been the designated nominee for 7 days. Biden gave a half dozen interviews in his first week.

C'mon she came into national politics cold. Biden has been at it 35 years. Liberals underestimated her before and I think they are doing it again.

Ray-
I'm sure she's quite bright - She wouldn't be where she is if she weren't, but you basically just stated that she don't know shit two months before she's the second in line for the executive role in the most powerful nation on earth.

"C'mon she came into national politics cold. "

That's the point! She isn't ready for prime time and never will be, at least in this election cycle.

No argument there. It remains to see how quickly she learns. I don't think it will take long if McCain is elected.

RAY

If she can't handle interviews NOW she's not well versed enough to be VP in 4 months is she?

Reminds me when Bush was running for election the first time. Comedians were making fun of Bush's inability to know and pronounce Arab names. Considering the gutsy and eloquent way she introduced herself, I don't think it will turn out to be a problem. Arguably the best speaker to come along since Reagan.

If she can't handle interviews NOW she's not well versed enough to be VP in 4 months is she?

Is "can't" the right word? I think the McCain camp decided she can reach more people by making speeches right now. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't know that I have ever seen you state clearly who you support.

Mayor McCheese.

From all the kerfluffle the woman has generated in such a short time, one might come to the conclusion that the RNC is selling her as the real nominee, not the senator from Ohio.

If there's one consistent thing about the modern news media, it's that when flacks for a public figure running for public office makes statements that the candidate will not make themselves available for media scrutiny, the conventional wisdom is that they're hiding something. But then again, the more they look at her, the less focus they spend on McCain.

I refuse to be hornswoggled into basing my vote on superficial character assassination from either party. This time around, it really is the economy, stupid. I want to hear about issues and how the candidates are going to address them. Is that really too much to ask?

They don't want her to make a 'mistake'.

Right now they're cramming talking points down her throat and giving her a "Economics and Foreign Policy 101' course.

give her a break! it took snowbama the better part of a year to face bor. i'm sure she has more nads than he.

Nanc-
Um. Palin hasn't so much as given a press conference. Wake me when she is interviewed one on one by Rachel Maddow - or, for that matter, anyone.

On the outside chance that McCain wins this election, Palin will have served her purpose.

Her one and ONLY purpose.

Up to that time, McCain isn't going to let her blow it for him it by demonstrating her lack of knowledge on crucial issues that matter to voters.

She's not giving press interviews because she CAN'T talk intelligently about anything.

We know that!

McCain knows that!

Hell, everybody knows that!

I laughed out loud (which I don't do often) when she said she was going to Washington to make changes (stolen from Obama, BTW)

Yeah, sure!

Like the neo-cons are going to ask her for advice on foreign policy, etc. What a joke!

It's more likely they'll give her the Christine Whitman treatment.

"Shut up and do as your told."

JEB is the one the neo-cons really wanted as VEEP so maybe when she get's disillusioned about her role (or lack thereof) she'll resign and the neo-cons will get their way. Enter JEB, the fox watching over the henhouse.

Poor Sarah. She doesn't know that she's being used to subvert the election process.

This is just another trick out of Karl Rove's bag.

ROFL

McCain using songs without permission AGAIN.

McCain and Palin in the white house.

Palin for the next 16 years.

Just another Rove trick.

We have to be right one time.

The point needs to be made that if Palin does get to be president by accident, she gets to pick a VP who compliments her inexperience.

I think the lefties are underestimating this woman. I haven't seen the righties more energized since Reagan. Their focus on Palin hides McCain's insanity and it might work.

"I think the lefties are underestimating this woman."

Yes, and maybe OVERestimating the Obamessiah? They seem to have a habit of that kind of behavior. Regardless of who is energized and who isn't, both tickets kinda suck. Here's the kind of big government we can look forward to:

news.yahoo.com

BTW Jest, from the article: "A government takeover could cost taxpayers up to $25 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office. "

That amount is grossly underestimated. Fannie and Freddie are responsible for $5 Trillion in mortgages, adding to the Fed's $10 Trillion in bonded debt. Considering all the junk mortgages they've bought, there's a good chance the Feds (taxpayers) will have to eat $2 Trillion. It ain't good and none of the candidates dare mention how insolvent the Fed really is.

It's not a problem...we're gonna have "hope and change" real soon...free benefits and EVERYTHING for EVERYBODY. I can't wait.

betel - time interview with sarah approximately three weeks ago.

cnbc interview.

kudlow interview.

as usual, the left wishes to make it all about what they perceive as truth.

Sarah the Savior still afraid of questions...

Sarah Palin will be missing from action Sunday a.m.

But here's an advance heads up, in part because of who WON'T be found on any of the chat shows.

Three of the four now-official candidates on the major-party presidential tickets are scheduled to sit down for questions: Democrat Barack Obama on ABC's "This Week," his running mate, Joe Biden, on NBC's "Meet the Press" and Republican John McCain on CBS' "Face the Nation."

Absent from this list, of course, is the GOP's star of the moment, the not-so-long-ago obscure governor of Alaska who is McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin.

Since she was thrust onto the national stage a week ago, her appearances on it have been tightly regulated by the McCain campaign: a few side-by-side campaign stops with him and, of course, her big speech to the GOP's convention Wednesday night.

So.....? The Queen of partisan hack, Oprah won't open her bs sessions to her.

Pssssst

Oprah isn't running for VP

McCain meets Levi Johnston at the airport:

(Levi, when you marry Bristol, you also marry US!)
Nice to meet you, Levi. I wanna thank you for shaving and looking a bit more like a Young Republican for us last week here in St. Paul. That rugged thing just isn't our look, son.

My friend, I know you said on "Myspace" you didn't want any children and I know that Sarah's kind of intimidating with all that shooting and NRA gun stuff. And her mom's just not into abortion... so you're gonna be a daddy whether you want to or not. It's a woman's decision, my friend. It's her body, and your child support obligation. We conservatives stick with our women. Well, so long as they look good.

But don't be too worried about the shotgun wedding and all the Fox News cameras around. When you marry her, you'll still get to play hockey, my friend. You did look fabulous with Bristol and that all makes me look good too. Just LAY LOW and behave for a couple months, okay?

Levi, my friend, just know that when you marry her, you also marry her family. You can do what I did and dump her for a newer model when you want later on... and there'll be rich Republicans to take care of her and your baby like Ross Perot took care of mine!

So you play ball with us, and we'll play ball with you, my friend. And besides, I have friends at all the big shoe companies... we'll see what we can do about a couple endorsement contracts so you'll have some pocket money. I already love you like a great grampa. It'll be okay, Levi, you'll see, my friend.

I agree she should speak to the press and answer their questions...
the day after the Empty Suit answers an actual question....
But the NOBama worshipers don't want that. They only want her to answer questions while their Messiah continues delivering his sermons on the Mount...

Economics and Foreign Policy For Dummies class has ended. Now it's time for the speech coach:

COACH: "Sarah, say it with me, Noo-clee-er. Nooooooo-clee-er"

SARAH: "Nooooo-cue-ler"

COACH: "Let's try again, Sarah. Nooooooo-clee-er. Open your lips wide on 'clee'. OK, Noooooo-clee-er."

SARAH: "Nooooooo-cue-ler"

COACH: (sigh) "Let's try again...."

I agree she should speak to the press and answer their questions... the day after the Empty Suit answers an actual question....

Obama's out there answering questions all the time, and has been for 18 months. He takes questions from the press, at town halls, on the Sunday talk shows, and from voters on the stump.

If McCain truly put country first, he'd put the vice president he chose out there to face the public and the press, to prove he made the right choice.

Maybe he knows, after his team's after-the-fact vetting, that she's not the right choice.

What about the head moron-in-chief that we have had now for 8 years?

This is manna from heaven for the Obama campaign, who has EVER heard of a VP candidate not giving interviews, not being available to the big name reporters, it smacks of desperation from the McCain camp, obviously they are terrified of her true character coming out (and from the little I have read and seen it ain't pretty). This again proves what a piss poor decision this was on the part of McCain.

no the dumb asses in the mccain camp have to coach her with talking points before letting her go to the press and still being ripped to shreds..

he fucked up plain and simple. she is like a piece of veneer looks good on the surface but particle board underneath the first 1/64th of the surface.

Has anyone noticed the similarity between Sarah Palin and Simon of Alvin and the Chipmunks? Same big fat cheeks, glasses and speaks like she's on helium! Pitbull? More like chipmunk!

I doubt I'm the first to mention the similarity between Sarah's delivery and that of Sister Mary Elephant.

the RIGHT women vs. left women. you be the judge.

Wasn't it the Dems who refused to conduct a debate on Fox news?

Selective outrage again. I wonder how many news outlets really, REALLY want to set up an interview with Joe Biden. Obviously, he's very available. He's such a bloviating windbag, any lazy journalist can fill up a few hours worth of copy.

Repubs are playing this very nicely.

" Obviously, he's very available. "

Unlike the Alaskan Assclown who is in hiding.

SH*T! they forgot sheehaniballectorwhoeatsherown
and medeawhoeatsherown benjamin!

not very thoughtful of'em...

i will give you this, however, your side does have one-square crow!

When's your chicken shit Savior going to answer questions?

The Alaskan assclown and the Arizona prune. GOP's joke on America.

when she's dayamed good and ready, i presume. when is yours? he's got over a year and a half on her and has YET to answer many. seems to me you're concerned with the wrong person - you deal with your candy date and we'll deal with ours and may the best woman win!

"when is yours? he's got over a year and a half on her and has YET to answer many."

Bwack. Bwack. She's a chickenshit, and so is John McCain who won't let her answer questions.

when is yours? he's got over a year and a half on her and has YET to answer many.

Maybe you should take your issue up with O'Reilly?

yav - i'm awaiting nights 2, 3, and 4 with bor. he's NOT my ideal interviewer.

yo null - whose permission was snowjobama awaiting before he was ALLOWED to go ahead with the interview with bor? it seems HIS handlers were very careful in their timing of THAT interview. what were they afraid of?

"before he was ALLOWED to go ahead with the interview with bor"

You're an idiot. Obama doesn't need any permission. He's been taking questions for 18 months...actually, for years.

When is that chickenshit McCain going to let that bumpkin from Alaska take questions?

that's a crock and you know it - bor has been trying for over a year to get him on his show - WHY NOW?

sarah will shine when the time comes. you are afraid or you'd be a little more gracious - like bin biden was the day after...at least he has the good sense to not slander her - y'all're going to lose it for your side and you'll have no one to blame but yourselves.

i'm willing to wager that even hillary is thrilled to pieces for the choice mccain made. just sayin'...

p.s. - there is something to be said of grace. but then, you wouldn't know.

"bor has been trying for over a year to get him on his show - WHY NOW?"

Who gives a fuck about Oreilly? When is your chickenshit VP candidate going to talk to anyone other than Republican shills like those on Fox News?

Why isn't the Caribou Chickenshit on this Sunday's talk shows?

the RIGHT women vs. left women. you be the judge.

Nice way to prove how much more shallow the Right is there Nanc.
But seriously, what kind of woman would you rather be running the government and making foreign policy, one who was sitting at home studying because she couldn't get a date, or one who had the captain of the football team doing all her homework for her?

yeah, because barbra streisand and cindy sheehan are so profound...

all sarah's achievements will be known soon enough - it's only been a little over a week - y'all're so impatient.

you don't even know WHERE your candidate was born!

Nanc-
It's been less than a week, and you are fawning over "Sarah". What are her achievements?

(BTW, Obama was born in Hawaii. You should probably know that by now)

you don't even know WHERE your candidate was born!

What a stupid comment, but considering the source I shouldn't be surprised.

college graduate in communications/journalism.

sports reporter.

helped run her husband's family commercial fishing business.

three years on a city council.

mayor, in charge of a police department.

wife, in charge of a home.

mother, in charge of a family for at least 20 years.

chaired "Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission" for a year, where btw, she was also ethics supervisor.

alaska's first female governor.

she is a great community servant - of course she has many more attributes too detailed to go into here and now - research it yourself.

i didn't mention that she is a person of faith as i believe it is unimportant.

p.s. - his phony b.c. says he was born in hawaii - jury's still out on that one!

betel - whuzzure guy done?

so, y'all're out changing your depends?

Nanc-
I asked rather for accomplishments while she held public office, not the offices she held.

Nanc-

Only the insane "jury" that also thinks monkeys and fossils are a "test" of our faith from a jealous god. The State of Hawaii and pretty much everyone not loonytunes are pretty solid on this one.

Palin's a book-burning secessionist that couldn't even run a car wash.

Nanc-
For example. Palin raked in fed. earmarks galore while mayor, and still saddled Wasilla with debt. She pressured the librarian to censor books and tried to fire her when she objected. She campaigned for gov. on the fed funding for the "bridge to nowhere", and still repeats the bs about how she was against it. As Governor, she fired the commissioner who wouldn't fire her brother-in-law, etc.

betel - she is a very accomplished person - and did i mention she's a WOMAN!

re - she's exactly what this country needs as you will soon see.

Nanc-
I don't recall saying that "sarah" wasn't a "WOMAN", or that she's not successful. And you've never said why "sarah" is exactly what this country needs.

Please tell me.

betel - you'll need to expand your hatred of her a little more - even people on the left are coming over to this side - they're sick of the lies. i just returned "the haj" to the library and someone had censored the word "christian" within - wonder if she's responsible for that?

we will overlook any of her discrepancies just as your side has overlooked those committed by your side.

she is fresh and accomplished.

did i mention she's a woman? not that it matters, just like it doesn't matter that obama is half white. it would be sexist of me to notice that she's a woman i suppose.

g'night.

'night Nanc.

NANC

"Right" women are only among the ever shrinking number of self identified Republicans. Down to 29% now. Democrats have a double digit lead.

Obama leads among Independent women too.

Sorry, McCain picked the wrong VP candidate, and as the weeks go by the public will grow tired of her.

But, it's funny to see how nuts you and Murphy are about her since she's only been a known (yet very unknown) entity for a week or so.

How any woman, any homosexual, or any person of color (other than a multi millionairre) could ever vote Republican is beyond me. There must exist a special form of self loathing psychosis which accounts for the phenomena.

"you don't even know WHERE your candidate was born!"

Hawaii.

"Until she's ready -- and until she's comfortable -- which might not be for a long while -- the media will have to wait,"

WOW....She sounds SO READY TO LEAD!!!

With mcOld being a 5 time cancer survivor and 72 years old, I sure hope she wins!!

'Madame President, the Nation Is Under Attack'!

.....AND YOU THOUGHT GEORGE'S SEVEN MINUTES WERE LONG.....

I'm already popping up bowls of popcorn and stocking up on Kalua and vodka for my Black Russians.

Oh what a night!

Now THAT'S how you watch a debate!

Cali, don't try any drinking games (Palin says '911', drink). You'll be bombed before the first commercial break.

Because Republicans pretty much know what her views are on the issues. I don't need to see her in an interview to know her positions. An interview is just another performance no different than the speech she gave the other day.

YOU may not realize how dumb that is, but everyone reading it does. Say what you want about Obama, but he has been interviewed MANY times, including by Bill O'Reilly.

Posting utter bullshit makes you sound a tad foolish. Maybe you should START by reading some news, etc.

it's fun watching y'all meltdown. it didn't matter who mccain chose, you'd still be reacting the same way. most of you cannot even make a decent sentence minus the gratuitous curse word when speaking of sarah - sad really.

Yes, like people actually payattention to your intellectual prowess.

A real scholar with everyone of your posts.

"It didn't matter who McCain chose...."

When McCain decided to ditch intellect and character and go after voter demographics, yes.

um, moneywar? you're obviously paying attention to my posts...

that's rich, zed.

Are they saying Palin's not ready for prime time?

Who'd a thought that?

Gee,

Biden and Obama were both blitzing the Sunday talk shows, today...

I guess when your campaign's in trouble, you are down in the polls, you do the talk shows and interviews. When you're ON TOP and WINNING you don't have to.

Sarah will be doing interviews the minute they start to slip in the polls.

Why should she answer questions about her policies or past? She wrestled a moose goddammit! That alone qualifies her for VP.

And they call Obama an empty suit. Palin won't even rise to that level.

It is sad that Phred considers her a breath of fresh air (between her ears).

Really? So being a mayor and a governor brings in less experience than a Community Organizer? In which world are you talking about? Real or your imaginary world? Remember, Obama voted present 130 times in the IL senate because he didn't want to make tough decisions. What's he going to do as president?

Fact of the matter is that she had MORE responsibility than Obama has had. The voters in Alaska give her higher approval marks than Congress itself has been able to garner in the last 2 years. Keep thinking like that and you'll wonder what happened after the election in November.

I realize liberals are scared of Gov Palin and they are going into attack mode. Because after all, she did root out a lot of the corruption in Alaska and Liberals are afraid. I guess all the noise is that most are afraid some of their politicians will get caught with their hands in the cookie jar. I mean, as a knee jerk reaction, Charles Rangel has been caught holding out on paying his taxes and he's on the ways and means committee. That says ethics problem to me but I'm sure liberals will find a way to sweep that under the fake rug and act like it never happened.

Ok danni,

Remember you asked for it. You should remember that your so called media is pretty damn biased. How long did it take boy blunder to sit down with foxnews, a news organization that does not cater and kiss his ass like the rest of them? Let's see the election has been going for well over a year and Obama just made time to go on Bill O'Reilly's show. Hmmm I don't think Sarah is going to hide for over a year do you?

Lonnie

Was Biden then chasised by the media for even staying in politics when he should have been home raising his kids - after his wife died?

Don't be disingenuous. You are comparing apples and oranges and you know it.

Oh so this was a direct sexists quote from someone who claims they're not a sexist. Hmmm, it's exactly the same damn thing. In YOUR world, a lady should not be VP because she has kids. How sexists of you, what's next, are you going to say something about a woman's place is barefoot and pregnant?

Lonnie

could ANYBODY have thought of a better ruse to get the left to get their poop in a group?

all the hoopla gets better by the moment, meanwhile we get our ducks in a row.

this has to be cooler than the other side of the pillow!

I guess none of these clowns ever studied economics. Supply and Demand... the less something is supplied, the more it becomes in demand.

Sarah Palin is in demand.

I bet Barack Obama wished he was in demand.

The moment she appears anywhere now, the press will be hanging on EVERY word with baited breath...

You can't BUY that kinda coverage.

Stay AWAY from the press, Sarah! But when the campaign has a message to deliver, We KNOW who'll be able to get it out and have it be covered!

The One is jealous... his press retinue has deserted him.

Yes, let's talk about supply and demand and how Obama wants you to inflate your tires and tune your engine up because you don't need more gas. Oh wait, Farmer John, I guess you have a horse to get you around to where you need to go. Nevermind.

Lonnie

The more Obama and Biden talk, the more their poll numbers move South. Maybe it is they who would be advised to shut their pieholes for awhile. If you run to the nearest camera and microphone, just because some schmoe from Podunk, Iowa might be tuned in, it just makes you look desperate.

And were I Obama and Biden, I might feel the same. All that money, all that fawning press coverage, all that Ben-Hur/Parthenon/Mt. Olympus drama, all those celebrities coming out to pound the drum for you--and the polls are tied, up against one of the oldest men to seek the office, who can't give a decent speech to save his life. Can't blame them.

"and how Obama wants you to inflate your tires..."

Apparently, so does McCain:

McCAIN: [Obama] said that the high cost of gasoline doesnt bother him only that it rose too quickly. Yesterday, he suggested we put air in our tires to save on gas. My friends, lets do that.

Yeah at the same time he's saying drill. Which pretty much makes your comment look dishonest. Then again, that's the Democrat strategy...stretch the truth until it snaps back.

Wasn't this supposed to be the summer that Obama and McCain went on the road and spoke in Townhall meetings across the country and actually debated the issue?

Maybe in your barnyard dreams.
After proposals and counterproposals the whole idea fizzled.
C'mon, you know better.

Under increasing pressure to do a media interview, the McCain campaign announced that Gov. Sarah Palin will meet with ABC News anchor Charlie Gibson later this week in Anchorage.

It will be Palin's first interview since being named to the Republican ticket.

Earlier in the day, McCain campaign manager Rick Davis told Fox News that Palin would not subject herself to any tough questions from reporters "until the point in time when she'll be treated with respect and deference."

Republicans are the most pathetic, whining little shits. I wonder how "tough" Gibson will be on her? Better tread carefully or further access will be denied.

"Republicans are the most pathetic, whining little shits."

No kidding. What arrogance. Treat her with "deference"? Who do these fuckers think they are? Royalty?

Seems like you guys are the ones being pathtic and whining little shits..

This is great! I said to hold your mooses and voila--you have an interview!

Now you are still complaining..

"Now you're still complaining...."

Looks like it was complaining that brought Ms. Democracy out this far.

Palin In '06: I Won't Let "Spinmeisters" Turn Bridge To Nowhere Into "Something Negative"

On the campaign trail Saturday, Gov. Sarah Palin defended her record on earmarks and spending claiming - per ABC's Jake Tapper - that she "championed reform of earmark spending by Congress, and I told the Congress thanks but no thanks on that 'Bridge to Nowhere.' If our state wanted a bridge, we'd build it ourselves."

By now, it is evident that the Alaska Republican is either knowingly deceiving voters or simply has her facts wrong when it comes to her support for the bridge.

And, it turns out, she once promised the voters of her home state that she would not only come to the defense of the bridge but would "not allow the spinmeisters to turn this project or any other into something that's so negative."
. . .
www.huffingtonpost.com

It's rank hypocrisy like this that helps explain why she dodged the major Sunday interview programs today.

This bridge thing is a PRIME issue I'd like to see her answer in ANY venue, even through a written statement.

...well, now that you mention it...direct descendant of william the conqueror...

y'all willing to tune in when mz. sarah shows up for her interviews?

That's what the media should and usually do - treat those in power with "deference". When it's a Democrat, it's bad, but when it's "sarah!, direct descendant of william the conqueror..." it's just how it should be done.

Now you are still complaining..

#197 | Posted by MURPHY at 2008-09-07 03:05 PM
and you're still a babbling half-wit.

Look up the word "deference" and get a clue. You talk about arrogance!

I'm listening to Palin, and she's still lying.

She's still chanting her little "bridge to nowhere" claim.

Now she's claiming she eliminated property taxes for either Wasilla or Alaska (wasn't too clear).

She's filling up the lie jar at one hell of a quick rate.

"Now you are still complaining.."

If it wasn't for the criticism the Caribou Con Artist would hide for the entire campaign.

Isn't this obvious? She's going to a two-week "politics school" so she can spout the GOP platform talking points. After that, she'll be happy to take our questions.

betelg - it is me, nanc, who is a descendant of wthc, not sarah! if she is, that means we're related.

NULLIFDIAN: Quoting the Huffingtonpost. That's really scraping the bottom of the barrel. The only rag lower then that would be Newsweek.

Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin attempted to quietly have her daughter Bristol get married before news of her pregnancy leaked out, the NATIONAL ENQUIRER is reporting exclusively in its new issue.

Palin planned for the wedding to take place right after the Republican National Convention and then she was going to announce the pregnancy.

But Bristol, 17, refused to go along with the plan and that sparked a mother-daughter showdown over the failed coverup.

The ultra-conservative governors announcement about her daughters pregnancy came hours after The ENQUIRER informed her representatives and family members of Levi Johnston, the father of Bristols child, that we were aware of the pregnancy and were going to break the news.

In a preemptive strike Palin released the news, creating political shockwaves.

The ENQUIRER has also learned that Palins family is embroiled in a vicious war that is now exposing her darkest secrets, threatening to destroy her political career.

Palins ongoing war with her ex brother-in-law Mike Wooten, a state trooper, has caused multiple sources to come forward with shocking allegations about the governor.

Details of those allegations, the family feud, and Palins attempt to cover up her teen daughters pregnancy are in the new issue of The ENQUIRER.

oh please.........angeltruth. Get a grip. Your own candidate said the personal family matters was off limits. Didn't you get the memo?

her first interview is this week!

nanc I hope you get banned from here

Oh Please no, Nanc aka Farmer John are such clay pigeons.

are they the same person or married? Imagine the unholy union

I'll give Nullifidian credit for coming up with some pretty clever nicknames for Palin.

When Sarah Palin sold Alaska's corporate Jet on E-Bay for a profit (which in reality I guess was sold to a corporate cronnie of hers for a $500,000 loss according to CNN)... I hope she saved $10 dollars out of it and bought a pack of rubbers for her husbands so they won't have anymore brain damaged children that our Medical Institutions will have to deal with because she's a brainless moron when it comes to sex.

Nice post, USA. I'll assume you don't know that selling a used jet isn't likely to fetch what you paid, brand new. As to the rest of your post, I'll assume you're just another liberal douchebag, who sees a lot of himself in Barack Obama.

If the polls are to believed, he needs all the douchebags he can get. Be sure to vote early and often.

I'll assume you don't know that selling a used jet isn't likely to fetch what you paid, brand new.

Just let McCain know so he stops saying she sold it for a profit. You and I both know a used jet won't go for what a new one goes for. You'd think McCain with his wife's jet (saved his early campaign some bucks!) would know better.

Something about the architecture of Palin's face is very reminiscent to me of Spiro Agnew.

Right as usual Wrong....Liberal douchebag?!?!? Does this alpha male attitude you hold work well for you in the real life? Hard to hold a job there for ya? Not good with the ladies? I guessing right on all. You're just a total scumbag in general. It's this alpha male shit you spew that's put this country in deep hoc and we're by far the most hated country from the rest of the world. Do us favor...don't bare any children, don't brainwash anybody and keep your fucking perverted opinions to yourself. And if you do have any children, grab a holy daggar, go to your local church and kill them at the altar. Your scum that shouldnt be on this earth.

ninja & zap - if only you could read a sitemeter, you'd see that we are two distinctly separate people - not only from differing states, but different genders - and why SHOULD i be banned? for pointing out the obvious? politely i might add. without the aid of foul language or abusive tactics. honestly - if you think i should be banned, you may need the jaws of life to remove your craniums from the dark place!

p.s. - it is not my fault you HATE being wrong. accept SOME responsibility for your own downfalls and stop trying to blame them on me!

Another soft-hearted lefty for Obama, I see. I've never been accused of being a pervert, though--could that be you, maybe? Was "bare" children perhaps a Freudian slip on your part?

And you're a little too late. As I've gotten older, I'll admit that the fairer sex is as confounding as ever. But I already have four children, and my progeny will further populate the earth, if only to annoy effete lib douchebags like yourself, who bare themselves before children.

GObama!

another reason to hide her?

Nov 19: No spilling the milk. A gag order on the Matanuska Maid fiasco

In what has quickly become one of the most costly and poorly thought out decisions since former Governor Murkowski bought the ill fated jet, Governor Palin's decision to keep open the failing Matanuska Maid Dairy has culminated in her ordering a gag on employees from sharing public information about Mat Maid's questionable business practices.

GoPalin!

it's fun watching y'all meltdown. it didn't matter who mccain chose, you'd still be reacting the same way. most of you cannot even make a decent sentence minus the gratuitous curse word when speaking of sarah - sad really.

Sad...yes it is. Who are Americans to want to question a potential president. How DARE they want to know about her policy ideas. We must simply ignore her and know in our hearts that her family problems and POLICIES are none of our business.

McCain annointed her, that should be enough or all of us!

Fox is news?

-Obama Baby Mama Drama
-He's a muslim
-He's not even a citizen

This is shit that FOX Noise continually spews.....I wonder why he didn't like that. Hmmmmmmm.

p.s. Fox 'News'....now that's funny.

They have to brainwash her first and get her fitted for a secret prompter telling her what to say as they did Bush. I think this election is over and already decided. I have a terrible sinking feeling that we are about to embark on a path much worse than Bush's.I feel that McCain will not last a year and we will have President Palin. I am frightened for us. Why her sudden popularity just because she gave a good speech. Obama gives good speeches all the time and hardly gets a bump. Something is not right here.

DISGUSTED

Karl Rove is at work again.

He's the "master" when it comes to getting people to vote for their own self-destruction.

I wonder if Palin will hide some sort of device under her jacket during the Q&A and debates like Bush did?

Now breaking --- Palin is a shill for the right wing, and McCain is a POW to Limbaugh and Krstol! See: www.drudge.com

On my 11:10 -- in case you forgot, here are photos: images.salon.com & archive.democrats.com & cryptome.quintessenz.at Wonder if Sarah's got a better camo designer than W?

Yeah and according to todays news, I'll bet you tuned in daily! In case you missed it, PMSNBC is giving Matthews and Olbermann the boot from their time slots because foxnews got 9.5 Million viewers during the conventions. They only had 2.5 Million.

I've never heard Obama was a muslim, I've heard he's of muslim linage. I don't think I've ever heard that Obama isn't a citizen either. Jeeze, you must listen to more foxnews than me. I'm impressed!

MSNBC Beat Fox for the dem conventions and FAUX News got more for the repubs....real big surprise there.

p.s. What does that have to do with Faux News making shit up about Obama and denigrating him all while wondering why he won't do their shows.

Your pitiful attempt at deflection is indicative of you knowing you knowing how wrong you are.

The fact that you're uninformed is hardly for me to care.

well maybe they will just have to 'call' her out like fox did with hillary and obama since they refused to go on those shows because they were pussys to face real questions and when all that was going on, every liberal fuck poster said.,...WHY SHould they go on there and all of that shit

well.........HYPOCRITES>............what say you now?????????????

and so now I find out that this thread is useless anyway

an interview with abc later this week

STORY OVER

It has a lot to do with it. I've never heard those comments on Foxnews commonsense but what do I know, I probably don't listen to fox as often as you. That's what it has to do with it. Since your the so-called expert on the matter, maybe you heard it while you were watching Foxnews.

I've never heard those assumptions. Granted, I work swing shift so it's entirely possible those things were said while I was at work.

I know no such thing. It appears to me that all you lefties swooning over Obama hasn't heard one damn thing he's said except hope and change. You can hope he doesn't make any bad changes but he probably will. Only a true idiot would stand up and say "Yeah, I want to pay more taxes for bigger government that doesn't do a damn thing for me." It takes someone really special to buy that line. In the end, big business taxes will be paid for by me and you...NOT the big businesses. So go ahead and vote for Obama but don't be surprised when mom and dad tell you they can't afford to keep letting you live in the basement.

Lonnie

It's not like she'd like to see her son before he leaves for his tour in Iraq. Keep digging lefties.

it DOES have EVERYTHING TO DO WITH IT

they were afraid to face the questions and you say that she is afraid to face the questions
ITS NO FRICKIN DIFFERENT

but again...........this thread is useless now

Obviously commonsense didn't see all of the softball questions being asked to Obama at the pro-Obama media. None of them were hard, but rest assured when Obama goes on Foxnews there will be some hard questions for him to answer than he will be prepared to answer. That's why he didn't go on foxnews until recently.

Secondly, Sarah will be given much harder questions to answer than Obama was since the drive by media is pro-Obama. The drive by media was so mezmorized and swooned over Obama that they never asked him any hard question. The hardest question he got was from Tim Russert and I seen all of the hot water he got into from doing so. Lefties were outraged that he asked Obama a difficult question. There is your revelence commonsense, maybe you'll have some now.

Lonnie

COMMENSENCE: "The fact that you are uninformed is hardly for me to care"

I take it from tha by your comment you consider yourself very informed. Maybe you can help me. I heard that when FLOP EARS was in the IL senate he had a reputation of being a "BILL JACKER". What does that mean?

p.s. - his phony b.c. says he was born in hawaii - jury's still out on that one!

ps dumbfuck.. the fbi has already vetted him. you cant run if you "aint" legal.

you guys are a riot..

Unless a whitey tape surfaces in October (it won't) or something dramatic happens in October, like getting Bin Laden; McCain is toast unless she does some press time.

#56 | Posted by JeffJ

i agree..and maybe even then if she screws up the interview with a perceived flippant answer or highly polarizing response..

There is the oct debate which may not go well for her.

The way Obama and the lib media have attacked Sarah Palin and her family, I don't think she should answer any questions from the scumbags in the media until after the election. In the meantime, they should buy spots where she can talk directly with the American people.

i hope she follows that advice.. its a sure W in the obama court

If Palin can't stand the heat, she can get back in the kitchen.

Bigger govt? Have you been paying attention to the Bush administration? It's grown more under Bush than under ANY administration in history.

Actually, I don't live in my parents basement. I started a very profitable real estate business several years ago buying up apartment complexes and brought my father in on it with me. We're doing very well, my parents just bought a beautiful vacation home on Cape Cod.....thanks for caring.
