Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Friday, September 05, 2008

After 32 years, Brit Hume has anchored his last political convention and is retiring at year's end to become a part-time pundit for Fox News. "I'm 65, for God's sake," he told Howard Kurtz. "I don't want to do all that stuff anymore."

He has a calm presence about him.

what stuff did he do?

Fox blurs Entertainment and News for the masses, except the phenomenal bore Brit Hume.

Re: Convention coverage....

In case it never gets on the front page here like the "Obama watched by 38 million" link that sat around for days:

Compared to MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, in matters of fairness and balance, Hume is saint and Olbermann is sinner.

brit hume has quite the resume.

nanc so do you when it comes to distortions of the truth

Where do you get your "fair and balanced" news?

Good. Hume has always bored the shit out of me. I could never change the channel quickly enough.

Good riddance.

I quess smart people bore you?

"Quick honey change the channel to that failed sports caster oberman."

"brit hume has quite the resume."

YEAH!

Compared to Whom?

I've never heard Hume talk about the funny feeling he gets up his leg when a presidential candidate gives a speech.

That's a shame. Hume's the best thing going in political coverage. He's the only reason I haven't blocked Fox on my TV. Guess I will block it after New Years.

I certainly can't fault him for being tired of all the BS that passes for politics anymore.

Compared to Whom?

To anyone on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC........

And CNN

YEAH!

He must be going back to Frankensteins castle for some scheduled Tune Up!

I will say this much Butch, he has the Biggest Flipperesk Melon Head on TV.

The way he stares at you thru that bulbous brow is enough to put you off your feed for a week!

So, ol' Brit isn't going to anchor conventions anymore but he's going to remain what he's been since Christ was a corporal: a Faux News shill.

What a story.

Oh, cause I thought you had to compare him to the best, ever!?

But I see ------- that condition/principle is just for the "other" thread!

Re:As I am for you. I would think you would rather compare him to so-called "great"--

I've always liked him.. he has a calm and competent demeanor...

neck,

Are you drinking already?

He reminds me of the olds news timey guys, walter kronkite, et al.

old timey news guys

I am no fan of FoxNews, but Brit is definitely closer to being "Fair and Balanced" than most on that network and far more than Oberman, Matthews, and Dan Rather (when he was on CBS).

He's one of the last good ones.

YEAH!

I agree, he played an excellent melon headed mammal!

Anyway, I suspect he sees and end to his meal ticket and is eager to bug out before all the indictments of the Bush admin and its Ministry of Propaganda wing start rolling in!

Media in general is losing a lot of people; it's getting harder and harder to stomach what passes for news nowadays, and what media corporations expect of employees.

I must say that I think Hume did this to himself in part; he was secure at ABC, and hip-hopped over to Faux. If he'd watched Faux for five minutes, he'd have seen that it wasn't the place for someone with standards.

Do you know how many different shows he's on at Fox?

I wonder who's going to shut that stammering idiot,
Mort Kondracke up.

YEAH!

Why the heavily medicated, Canadian born, England educated, Pulitzer Prize winning liberal-- elitists Charles Krauthammer is going to run him over with his wheelchair while in a stupor, of course!

Side note; Am I the only one who is reminded of Dr Strangelove every time this guy slinks, er, gets rolled out from his lair?

The perfect person to replace him:

She has a bachelors degree in journalism and before branching into other areas, she was a sportscaster. She's since shown some interest and aptitude for politics also.

She'll be available January 1, 2009.

neck;

If the gov decides to reform welfare, your meal ticket is gone.

I guess redneck is smoking some crack and drinking some 40's. Or maybe checking the mail for his welfare heck.

Brit Hume Anchors Last Convention
