Harry Potter 6; the Half-blood prince is much anticipated by all the Harry Potter fans around the world. Everybody were expecting it to be on their movie screen by November 21st, but suddenly Warner Brothers had announced that they will push the date to July 17th of 2009 and not on November 21st of 2008! This angered lots of the Harry Potter fans who just can't get enough of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter fans won't boycott shit. They lap up whatever their Queen throws to them and like it.

Did you know that rotten soandso seems to think her work is above being encyclopedically catalogued? That's right, you ever picked up an encyclopedia of superheroes and noticed it has Batman and Wolverine in it, and isn't published by Marvel or DC? You ever notice that Encyclopaedia Brittanica publishes a giant book about Superman, but never paid DC for it? That's because, as a cultural phenomenon; that's fair usage.

This greedy woman seems to think that reference works should be held accountable not just to being nonslanderous, but also having to pass off everything.. and pay the original publishers for.. all reference works.

Deep breath, bringin' it round to my point now... and her fans think this is perfectly hunkey-dorey. Yes, they think it's a GOOD IDEA to make reference book writers beholden to the whims of the copyright holders. It's clear they'll feed at the trough no matter what the official sources say or do, so long as they can get their fix. They'll whine like infants for a few weeks, and then resume talking about how world changing the movie is going to be.

Such rampant jealousy is hard to take, even in small doses.

I LIKE the books. I actually think she's a good pulp author. Problem is she went insane and began to take her own importance over that of a basic literary need. I despise anyone who wants to try to take away the integrity of encyclopedias for her own greed. Reference works remaining pure is actually important for human knowledge. Therefore I don't like the ridiculous rabid fans who back her. Anyone stupid enough to be unable to see why such a precedent can never be set.... isn't going to boycott shit. Thhey're rabid and insane, and will soon go right back to talking about how their books and movies will change the world... rather then just being a cultural phenomenon like Star Wars is/was.

To be fair, I think George Lucas is an asshat as well. Just not nearly THAT much of one.
