Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, September 03, 2008

A year ago, the Ramsey County sheriff's office began looking closely at a group called the Republican National Convention Welcoming Committee. What it found, according to an 18-page search warrant application and affidavit, was an anarchist group that allegedly discussed the possibility of kidnapping delegates, blockading bridges and using liquid sprayers filled with urine or chemicals on police.

but, by all means - let's continue our conversation on sarah palin, the next vice president of the u.s.!

Are anarchists Leftists? I suppose they must be, the opposed fascism in the Spanish Civil War.

Now that we've got that settled, let's talk about Gidget.

Shame on the Republican National Convention Welcoming Committee. They should be at home raising their kids.

nothing to see here.

let's talk about SARAH!

little bwah!

"let's talk about SARAH"

YEAH!

Lets do that!

The right-- offer us another Monet!

From afar it looks pretty good, however, once you get a closer look it starts looking like a jumbled up nonsensical mess!

we don't have to yap about her, rnv - y'all're doing it for u.s.! and who really takes you seriously?

p.s. i'm going to confine all the leftist/liberal (on occasion) lunacy to this post - don't want to jam up the works!

stay tuned...

Yes--there could be anarchists on the far far right as well as the far far left.

Because they are at the RNC--highly likely they are from the far far left.

More rightards pretending to be from the left in order to garner sympathy.

That's all the rightards have these days is the sympathy vote. Hell, they even admitted it themselves....bot Pat 'Bukkake' Buchanan and KKKarl Rove have both said they seek a sympathy vote using 'Plain' as the reason for it.

Nope, not a typo...Palin is just 'Plain'

These anarchrists are just typical dems like on the DR, but WITH a set of balls. At least they stand up and fight for what they believe instead of hiding behind their computers and attempting to destroy a Downs Syndrome baby and a pregnant teenager.

THIS is what the article stated:

Group members discussed the possibility of kidnapping delegates, blockading bridges, using liquid sprayers filled with urine or chemicals on police and throwing marbles to trip police and their horses.

GOSH! Why would Nanc leave out the marble throwing??
HA HA HA HA!!!

Read the article. They have marbles, not balls.

Probably financed by Soros.

I will stand behind the Republican National Convention Welcoming Committee and all that it does as an example of the actions of the "far far left" as our resident pinhead Murphy puts it.

You can stand behind Tim McVeigh.
And try to comprehend that he wasn't much farther right than most of you reactionaries.

Talk about anarchists got me remembering, I once saw a poster at a local University lobby back during the Gulf War: RALLY SATURDAY, "ANARCHISTS AGAINST THE WAR". THE GROUP WILL MEET AT THE COMMON AT 10AM, THEN PROCEED DOWN MAIN STREET AND CROSS THE SOUTH BRIDGE WITH PLANS TO ARRIVE AT THE STATEHOUSE BY 11:30, WITH SPEAKERS FROM 11:30 TO 1:00 AND A FAIR WITH INFO BOOTHS AND REFRESHMENTS AFTERWARDS".

Always thought it funny that anarchists were so organized and prescriptive. Shouldn't they have just all run around wherever the fuck they wanted to? Get OFF me MAN !

I thought anarchists are apolitical?

"Can I have 10,000 marbles, please?"

The thing that gets me is that if there are SO many people that are protesting the RNC (which none did at the DNC, that I am aware of) - then wouldn't reason and logic drive someone to not simply arrest them, but question why they feel this way? There has to be a reason, right?

If we were only humble enough to realize that we have possibly done something wrong, then we could put aside our own prides to examine this issue.

But, that's not the American way, huh? We rather just lock them away and imagine that no one disagrees with us.

(which none did at the DNC, that I am aware of)

you weren't paying attention if you believe that.

There wasn't any tear gas dispersed at the DNC either, but the nazis were in full control at the RNC, thus continuing the Bush legacy.

I hope you McSame supporters enjoy the taste of Jack-boot-leather.

"Anarchist Group" is an oxymoron.

"you weren't paying attention if you believe that."

um...read my lips....I said, and I quote "..., that I aware of."

Not only did you misquote yourself, but apparently you don't get the fact that your quote doesn't absolve you of the fact that "you weren't paying attention".

"but, by all means - let's continue our conversation on sarah palin, the next vice president of the u.s.!"

lets talk about a bunch of lunatics who are all arrested and are complete idiots instead of are possible next vp's qualifications and her ability to be president if mccain god forbid dies.

these losers are WAY more important

nanc, there is no controversy here
left and right, we all think these anarchists are idiots.

Anarchists.

The biggest problem we face as Americans.

hmmm there must be a reason that 10,000 protesters showed up at the RNC and NOT at the DNC.

Gee, I wonder why that is...

Now, with the RNC knowing that so many protesters would show up you would have thunk that would have had better crowd control in place. Or did they really think that no one would protest after the last 8 years?

Oh, don't we all just long for the good old days of water cannons and police attack dogs and rubber bullets.

"Not only did you misquote yourself, but apparently you don't get the fact that your quote doesn't absolve you of the fact that "you weren't paying attention".

Firstly - screw you
Secondly - I never claimed that NO protests were done. I had made the statement that none were done that I was aware of.

Try not being rude to other people. Kindness takes you MUCH futher. You know, it's people like you that can't find a decent arguing point on an issue, so you find it better to attack someone that does. Real mature....not!

Forgive me for "attacking"

I should have just said that you clearly weren't paying attention.

Some folks break the law and get arrested. Others do the same and become republican delegates and eventually presidents. Same thug, same mentality, just a different path and justice system.

Anarchists are leftist? I thought the left was supposed to be for big government, please explain.

Real mature....not!

Is Bristol Palin comming over tonight so the two of you can watch Hanna Montanna and read Teen Beat?

You can claim that no protests were done that you're aware of dummy, but that doesn't mean that "you weren't paying attention" is an incorrect statement. Had you paid attention you'd know they did occur.

Anarchists are a scary bunch. I ve always wondered what type of society they envision with no government, corporations, etc.

They certainly have balls for storming the RNC.
Im willing to bet more people will be outside the RNC than in.

"""left and right, we all think these anarchists are idiots."""

Unless of course they had succeeded in installing multiple moose shit sprayers at the convention. Then the world would have given them a standing O.

I wonder what gidget looks like in a bullwinkle suit.

Anarchy will set you free!

I'll bet a case of beer that those who were arrested will have all charges dropped.

they weren't arrested to press charges, they were arrested to keep them from protesting. that's all.
like NYC 04 redux

Jesus was an anarchist

101Chairborne - grow up, will ya?!?

You can call me any and all names you like. As long as it helps you feel better about yourself...go right ahead.

It's still fact that you can't make a logical or reasonable arguing point without insults. Pity that.

Hagbard - I was thinking the same thing just this morning. If I recall correctly, and I do, Bush had the protesters all arrested. Many held for days without every being charged or even booked. And, some of the people weren't even protesters. Some were just people walking down the street.

If a leader of a country can not take the criticism of his own people, who will he submit to?

Look where that got him.

Say what you will, but anarchists have a kick ass theme song...
www.youtube.com

I really don't see how some of you can claim that anarchists are lunatics on the far left or the far right, considering that the very definition of anarchy is "absence of government."

Can someone please explain the logic? Or is it just the "I disagree with them, therefore they must be on the other side of the political spectrum!" argument?

An anarchist is a DR Lefty that has a little harder time expressing himself verbally, so he flings urine and feces instead of expletives and talking points...

...fortunately for us, the Lefties at the 'Tort lost all their marbles back in gradescholl. Unforunately, they can still regurgitate talking points...

Can someone please explain the logic? Or is it just the "I disagree with them, therefore they must be on the other side of the political spectrum!" argument?

As confused as you appear to be on the subject, there are a group of retort regulars that are equally confused that somebody would be looking for logic on the Retort.

I thought you had potential to be a respectable left leaning contributor to this site ala Hagbard.

"there are a group of retort regulars that are equally confused that somebody would be looking for logic on the Retort."

I wasn't really looking for or expecting an answer - I was just amazed by the lunacy of the more....er, devoted members of the right/left on this site.

OK, that's nice to know. I was nervous there for a minute. Sorry for the confusion.

"OK, that's nice to know. I was nervous there for a minute. Sorry for the confusion."

The day I consider the majority of the internet (no matter their political leanings) to be a well-educated, informed, and eloquent group of people is the day that miniature green pigs come flying out of my butt and volunteer to pay my bills. ;-)

Even though i sorta agree with you, i will make this observation. I'd be willing to bet that the internet users are better informed and educated than non-users.

I think you under-estimate the extent to which the great unwashed masses are ignorant of anything outside their little community.

No one can completely understand why the democrats took congress in 2004. Some say it was because of the scandals but scandals like these have happened before and no one (except insiders) knew about them.

I believe the internet and the internet users were the difference and will also be the difference in this election.

KINGER,

If you have an opinion, put some hotsauce on it before you post it otherwise get down in the mud with us and LET's GET IT ON!!!

"I believe the internet and the internet users were the difference and will also be the difference in this election."

No matter who wins in November, I hope you're right. The better-informed the electorate is about the strengths and weaknesses of both major candidates, the better.

Come to think of it, that might actually explain why Barr is polling so much higher than a third-party candidate usually does.

"If you have an opinion, put some hotsauce on it before you post it otherwise get down in the mud with us and LET's GET IT ON!!!"

But I don't like mud wrasslin' :(

Protestors at the DNC were kept 3 blocks away in a chainlink area that the protestors derisively referred to as a "Freedom Cage". So yes, there were protestors at the DNC but they were not widely covered by the media and were kept distant and bottled up by the police. Depending on your viewpoint, Denver caved to the Dems (or provided a needed service) and set up a no-fly zone for protestors. Minneapolis did not do same for the GOP.

This morning the ABC news led their coverage of the RNC with clips of spoiled neo-hippies throwing rocks at police and running through tear gas haze. So I guess the overt attempt by the media to lead the opinions of folks like you has succeeded.

People who would likely demonstrate at the DNC are too busy working for a living, while the unwashed neo-hippies who are living in Mom's basement have all the time in the world to skateboard over to Minneapolis to protest the RNC.

So, your comment is incorrect, but I can see how you'd havetha impression from the coverage.

PublicTrough - I appreciate your understanding and candor. You made your point without lowering yourself to insulting me. You choose to educate me, which I respect. Thanks for that.

I don't know anything about the people protesting, as far as what kind of people they are, or are not. So, I wont speculate.

All I know is that if there are this many people unhappy and upset, someone should make the effort to find out why. I mean, for any side, D or R, it would be in their best interest to talk to these people and see if you can win their vote, right? Isn't that what campagning is about? That's what I would do, at any rate. I would at least attempt to get that 100% approval rating, even though no one ever will....it would be my goal, and something I wouldn't shy away from.

A leader is only as strong as his weakest follower.
One can not walk upon the backs of the many, if the many refuse to walk.

Just some food for thought.....but thanks again for being mature about this.

"That's all the rightards have these days is the sympathy vote"

And all the left has is the white guilt vote

and how do you know they were "spoiled neo-hippies"?

And what the hell is that?

Do you know who any of the "agitators" really were?

I saw the DNC "Freedom Cage".. there were about 10 people there protesting the war. the GOP couldn't make an issue of it. If 10,000 people had showed up there things would have probably turned out badly too.

holy shiite, batman - guess i need to check my posts a little better?

did anybody catch the Missiah palin speech this evening?

POWWWWWWWWWWWWWERFULLLLLLLL!

p.s. - get used to saying "potus in waiting PALIN"!

we don't have to yap about her, rnv - y'all're doing it for u.s.! and who really takes you seriously?

#6 | Posted by nanc at 2008-09-03 11:07 AM

besides murphy, who actually takes you seriously?

hillbilly - in this arena, it's not about who likes you - it's about how many you can stir to pure hatred - then they become rabid for the whole world to see - in case you didn't notice, this ISN'T a popularity contest. usually.

Nanc is a troll. she was so afraid of debate she locked her own personal blog down. I guess after being made to look foolish in front of her conservative friends she couldn't deal with it.

yeah, whatever you say rasta.

"she was so afraid of debate she locked her own personal blog down."

I would too, if chickenshits like Jackass/Messiah/Rastaninja were such cowardly creeps they signed on as other people and crapped all over unsuspecting bloggers.

"I guess after being made to look foolish in front of her conservative friends she couldn't deal with it."

Says the guy who thought he'd get away with it, but was caught and exposed within hours.

Anyone who signs on pretending to be me because he can't possibly win an actual debate as himself is TOTALLY PWNED. Forever MY BITCH, Jackass!

Time for another Victory Dance!

rasta, I find nanc rarely posts anything that even nears coherence

she generally posts nonsequitors that border on some idea but not really touching that idea.

well unless she is posting hate then she is usually pretty clear

en.wikipedia.org

Anarchism is a political philosophy encompassing theories and attitudes which support the elimination of all compulsory government,[1][2][3][4] i.e. the state. Anarchism is defined by The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Politics as "the view that society can and should be organized without a coercive state."[

see nanc that is not a leftist/liberal notion.

You are an ignorant dullard.

well, t.h. - they weren't conservative republicans plotting to kidnap themselves? what's your point? nothing i'm sure a duncecap wouldn't cover.

rasta - if you're concerned about one of my blogs being closed all you have to do is follow the directions in my profile and ask to be invited - really quite simple.

More Leftist Lunacy

anarchists are not leftist

IIRC they also protested the DNC

True to form, we completed this issue in the midst of the demonstrations at this years Democratic National Convention in Denver, at which anarchists are attempting to reinvent mass mobilizations.
