Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that in the mid-'90s Sarah Palin was a member of their party, a group that since the 1970s has been pushing for a vote for Alaskans to decide whether they can secede from the United States.

Another reason to Love That Woman!!!

Let's face it she is not qualified. Can you imagine senators and others working for the government calling her her Madam President. Lets face it the old man will crock in office if her doesnt bust a nut exploding at Cindy first.

I have a feeling McCain and his staff are huddled behind closed doors trying to figure out how to ditch this woman without looking like complete fools.

It will have to (appear) to be her idea, of course.

Maybe something like "I've decided that the extensive duties of the Vice President's office will infringe upon my first responsibility ~ that being my responsibility to my family as a wife and mother."

Toodles!

Well, I read that the McCain camp already knew about Bristol's pregnancy and didn't think it would matter.

Of course, they also claimed that Sarah Plain only made the announcement cuz of left wing blog smears.(which is so illogical it hurts)

I doubt if McCain knew jack shit, since he JUST sent "vetters" up to Alaska to dig around, and there's evidence that democratic party researchers hit those archives FIRST, and mccain hadn't AT ALL. Also...he didn't speak to palin for very long. They met once. Wanna bet she never told him about her daughter?

Johnny made a quickie decision and it bit him in the ass.

Out of all the stories coming out about Palin, I see this one hurting the most....

How can you lead America, when you were part of a group that never wanted to be a part of it in the first place...

ALEX

Wanna bet she never told him about her daughter?

I'd bet my last dime on it!

Palin has turned into McCain's Excedrin Headache #???. I've lost count.

The last thing McCain wants is "The Trials and Tribulations of Pauline" to suck the oxygen out of his message for the next two months.

He might be insane but he's not crazy.

How can you lead America, when you were part of a group that never wanted to be a part of it in the first place...

This is called 'straining at gnats.' This group wants a vote on whether Alaska can legally secede. That's a far cry from hating America and hoping for its violent overthrow.

Similar groups exist in California, Texas and throughout the South. They are little more than political debate clubs.

besides, attending a few meetings in your youth means nothing. If Sarah had not explored various points of view the same bunch of dickheads would be talking about her lack of curiosity.

At least be honest and admit that you will criticize her regardless, just because she's a Republican.

VERNON

Of course it's "straining at gnats."

But what do you want to bet that those belated "vetters" are up in Alaska looking for the additional dirt they'll need to convince Palin that she needs to decline the nomination.

Screw the pregnant daughter stuff. It irrelevant.

How about her support for the Bridge to Nowhere which turned out to be a $230 Million embarrassment to Alaska and the U.S. Congress.

How about the D.C. lobbying firm she hired to secure another $8 Million in earmarks? (John McCain hates earmarks)

Before anybody goes out on a limb over Palin, I think we'd better wait to find out what McCain's "vetters" dig up because I have a feeling McCain is looking for reasons to ditch her ~ not keep her.

I'm not into conspiracy theories but all this is beginning to look like a plot by sane Republicans to take their party back. Step #1 was to get McCain selected as their nominee. No Step #2 was needed.

They knew it would cost them the election but they figured after eight years of Skippy and Darth that was a done deal anyway.

Just another glaring McCaint failure.

His fly by the seat of his pants decision style is coming back to bite him in the ass yet again like his own immigration bill that he had to vote against because it was not thought through by him.

This is the "man" that the right wants on the button of the nukular arsenal?

He is a joke.

His VP nominee does not even know what the VP does on a daily basis and is a bigger joke than he is.

Palin also used Ted Stevens' lobbyist buddies to suck millions in $pork$ into Wasilly.

McSame/Palin 2008: Tits You Can Believe In

(Was gonna say "BoobS" but knew it would confuse the cons with the cans)

This is called 'straining at gnats.' This group wants a vote on whether Alaska can legally secede.

Isn't that splitting hairs? Why fight for a vote that gives you the option to secede if you don't, in fact, want to secede? For most of its history the group was led by people who wanted to secede or even join Canada.

If there's a paper trail or video of her advocating this stuff, katy bar the door.

This is the woman who wants to be vice president - just a 72-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency - of the UNITED States of America? Should she become president, what would her first act be? To declare Alaska a separate country?! She could appoint Bristol to be Ambassador.

Based upon the headline, I thought this might be a real "story." Then I read the article:

"Lynette Clark, the chairman of the AIP, tells ABC News .... it's not accurate to describe the party as secessionist -- they just want a vote, she says, adding that the members of the AIP hold different opinions on what Alaska should be .... [s]ome advocate statehood -- but a fuller statehood than exists now .... She doesn't know what Palin's position was."

This is a nonissue worth no more credence than the many nonissues related to Obama's propensity to associate himself with weirdos.

McCain timed his pick to take some of the steam out of Obama's acceptance speech. He played politics, fast and loose, with someone who could concievably be just a heartbeat away from the oldest president ever. Her extremely limited experience (much less than Obama) calls McCain's judgement into question.
Her nomination brings to mind the nominations of Harriet Miers and John Roberts.
Do you want this woman running the country?

"A FULLER statehood than exists now...."

What the hell does that mean? Autonomy? Free Associated State?

A non-issue? Really? I'll tell you what, let's ask Palin what she wanted. In a debate.

I guess I'm just a conservative sort of guy. In my mind, an admission to the Union is not revocable or modifiable.

Interesting to think some Alaskans, including the woman who would be a heartbeat from the presidency, might think otherwise.

Why do the repubs ALWAYS try to install people who:
#1. Hate America.
#2. Hate the Constitution.

Do you guys make this a requirement to join your little "hate fest"? Why is the destruction of this country so important to you?
Do you even comprehend how many people are going to die if you succeed? Even knowing your religious claptrap isn't gonna happen-how do you justify yourselves?

Are you people REALLY that idiotic?

...and the hits...just...keep...on...comi
ng!

Quayle...Palin...two of the worst VP choices in memory.

No one, Clinton, Bush, Cheney, Pallin, McCain, or Obama, can be window dressing in the White House unless they are obedient to Wall Street, AIPAC et al. Wall Street and our Government is a mafia like organization which pretends to have moral and legal authority. Not undermining this authority is the secret agreement between most political candidates. Only a few tread outside that understanding. People like Kucinich, Nader, Paul, and Sanders.

"A FULLER statehood than exists now...."

What the hell does that mean?

#16 | Posted by Zed at 2008-09-02 09:48 AM | R

Something like a "more perfect" union, perhaps? Whatever the hell that is.

It sounds to me like this is a group that in vaying degrees advocates greater autonomy and independence for the people of Alaska. Give the large numbers of native americans, innuits and others who live there, I am not entirely surprised that such a group exists.

No wonder McCain picked her: She's almost a neocon. She just needs to narrow her focus a bit. Instead of "Fuck America, I'm for Alaska." she needs to think "Fuck America, I'm for a tiny group of connected friends." Then she'll fit right in.

A lying, flip floppin' hillbilly skank that was once mayor of a town of 9000.

McCain has got to be boffin' this bitch.

I can't get over how often I see lefties referring to Palin as "one heartbeat away from the presidency." It seems as though they enjoy saying it just a little too much, almost excited about the prospect of McCain dying.

While the prospect of being assassinated by a racist isn't necessarily as imminent a threat as McCain's age, it certainly exists. Should I be galavanting around the site, saying Biden is "one gunshot away from the presidency?"

#2. Hate the Constitution.

Naw, she loves it. Never read it, but loves it.

"Should I be galavanting around the site, saying Biden is "one gunshot away from the presidency?"

Go ahead, it would be fine with me. I think the comparison between Palin and Biden would definitely benefit Obama/Biden.

Should I be galavanting around the site, saying Biden is "one gunshot away from the presidency?"

And he's infinitely better qualified than Palin. Thanks for pointing that out, Joe.

He's also more qualified than Obama. That didn't mean anything to Democrats during the primary, so why should it matter now?

So what do we know so far about Sarah Palin?

She joined a party with the moto "Alaska First".
The party founder Joe Vogler was buried in Canada because he refused to be buried on American soil. And he is quoted as saying:
"I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."
That's the party she willingly joined.

And when Palin was asked about being the VP pick earlier in the year, her answer was:
We wanna make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans
www.youtube.com

Especially for Alaskans? It's that last quote that interests me the most. Exactly what did she mean by that? Alaska first, America second? I think it's a serious question where Sarah Palin's loyalties lie.

I'm not into conspiracy theories but ....

The word "BUT" is always the indicator. Like when Bl-in-BL says:

"I don't like sex with animals, but......"

You can judge B-IN-B accordingly.

Regardless, we did see a sacraficial lamb with Dole -- who could never beat Clinton.

But McCain is determined to win, and Palin could make it happen ....

Dems want to think about the short-term effects of Osama's acceptance speech, but you discount the slow boil of Gustav -- which gives McCain the opportunity to look presidential

She joined a party with the moto "Alaska First".

Make a sign that says this, and stick it in the face of everyone in Wisconsin -- and find out who give a flyng fuck.

Please, report back

"Especially for Alaskans? It's that last quote that interests me the most. Exactly what did she mean by that? Alaska first, America second?"

What makes you think America is necessarily second?

"Alaska first, America second? I think it's a serious question where Sarah Palin's loyalties lie."

Whatever. Do a google search with any state governor's name followed by "put (their state) first" and you'll see that they all say shit like that. Governors always put their state first. It shouldn't surprise you that she said this, even before she was governor. But many people are good at pretending to be surprised when it comes to politics.

Before anybody goes out on a limb over Palin, I think we'd better wait to find out what McCain's "vetters" .....

#8 | Posted by Twinpac at 2008-09-02 07:06 AM | Reply

My guess is that the 'vetters' already did all this work and the decision was made.... a pregnant daughter in 2008? Get real.

Politics is all about image and balance (you want to make me a McCain apoligist but it ain't gonna happen.)

The RNC stooges must have known that Palin's grandchild is a DNC product (maybe not because the child lives) and decided they could manage it. Are you truly so retarded (partisan?)

"which gives McCain the opportunity to look presidential"

Maybe to some but to many more it just made him look like a panderer. His "concern" for NO and the hurricane victims was just a tad too transparent and obvious.

"What makes you think America is necessarily second? Posted by Sully"

Well, when a secessionist movement wants the state of Alaska to secede from the UNITED States of America, and the repulsican vice-presidential candidate belongs to that organization, I would say that a valid question to ask her would be "DO you put the welfare of the UNITED States of America first or do you put the welfare of Alaska first?

Since she belongs to an organization that was formed to push secession from the USA, I would say that her first concern is for the state of Alaska but it is up to her to assure the voters that this is either true or untrue. I am waiting for the VP debates MOST eagerly.

"Do a google search with any state governor's name followed by "put (their state) first" and you'll see that they all say shit like that. Governors always put their state first."

Had she made the statement when asked about running for governor of Alaska, it would make sense. But she was talking about how she'd like to use the VP role. I can't remember another potential VP candidate saying he'd only take the job if he could use it to specifically benefit his home state.

And saying such a thing in that context betrays a lack of common sense.

Dawnglo - You missed the joke. I was saying we know Alaska is 1st but there is no reason to assume that the US is necessarily as high as 2nd on her list.

Why do the repubs ALWAYS try to install people who:
#1. Hate America.
#2. Hate the Constitution.

Secession IS in the constitution dumbass.

"But she was talking about how she'd like to use the VP role."

When did she say she'd put Alaska first and America second as a VP? Did I miss that?

What do they want? Alaska is the biggest socialist welfare operation in the US now, populated by a lot of right-wing anarchists that LOVE those allotment checks when they arrive in the mail box.

"When did she say she'd put Alaska first and America second as a VP? Did I miss that?"

Nobody is claiming she said that. What she did say is that she would only take the VP role if it she could use it to specifically benefit Alaska. She wasn't talking about her duties as governor.

The statement certainly infers that she is going to put Alaska ahead of everyone else. But I can't convince anyone who wants to be intentionally obtuse about it.

EXCELLENT!!!!

Just what America needs.....a machine-gun wielding traitor!

SERIOUSLY!!! Did they do ANY Vetting of the woman?

The news is that he talked to her once back in February and only actually talked to her for the 2nd time when he called to offer her the job.

"How can you lead America, when you were part of a group that never wanted to be a part of it in the first place..."

You talking about Obama? There is not much he likes about the United States. (Creating his own national symbol, his own presidential symbol, halos around his head, no flag pin, no hand over heart, upside down flag on his pamphlet, removing the U.S. flag from his campaign plane...need I go on? Change? Absolutly!)

Obama never joined the Illinois Independence Party.

I am sure after McAncient is elected the police will begin rounding up everyone who does not wear a flag pin.

Just like Mao buttons in China. Same totalitarian mind-set.

This is called 'straining at gnats.' This group wants a vote on whether Alaska can legally secede. That's a far cry from hating America and hoping for its violent overthrow.

Here's another 'far cry'....your 'dramatic flair' of adding 'violent overthrow' to someone's argument to help shore up your own. Now that a far cry.

Tell us, where do you get 'Violent Overthrow' out of these words: "How can you lead America, when you were part of a group that never wanted to be a part of it in the first place..."

RUN....

RUN....

The evil 'darky' is gonna getcha!!

Holy shit. This is the reason Sarah Palin flew back to Alaska while she was in labor.
I'm not kidding, this is a quote from her husband:

Todd Palin's reason for making those potentially life and death decisions about his wife and unborn son? "You cant have a fish-picker from Texas."

They didn't want their son born in Texas, because then he wouldn't be a real Alaskan.

Why do the voices in my head keep saying "Eagleton"?

"What she did say is that she would only take the VP role if it she could use it to specifically benefit Alaska."

I'm just asking where she said that. I didn't see the quote in this article or anywhere else.

Wow this family is weird. It's like some sitcom. The Beverly Hillbillies go to Washington.

It's in this youtube clip.

well that right there should get him deported.

Thanks Norm. I missed that link before.

In October, 2007, Dexter Clark, the AIP's vice chairman, was recorded on video saying that Palin had been a registered member of the AIP before switching to the GOP to be viable.
In the same video, Dexter Clark also said that since she joined the GOP, "she is pretty well sympathetic to her former membership." Clark also goes on to discuss the need to "infiltrate" the major parties.

Believe it or not I voted for McGovern in '72 but he made a mistake taking Eagleton off the ticket just because the guy took a little electric shock treatment for depression therapy.

BTW I don't regret voting for McGovern either even though he wimped out there.

Yesterday, Alaska was an insignificant podunk that does nothing but draw public assistance payments from the lower 48 states.

Today, it is much more important, I see.

Gotta love politics.

***** Todd Palin's reason for making those potentially life and death decisions about his wife and unborn son? "You cant have a fish-picker from Texas."

.......maybe they did not want to disqualify their son from being President of Alaskastan ......

.......once their traitorous plan for secession succeeded.........

when in college, I went to many John Birch mtgs, it was easy hiting up on the righties, was harder getting laid with the lefties. So you gonna come back at me for being a Bircher? Maybe she just wanted to get some, OK?

Are you really that much of an ASS-BAG?

"...But McCain is determined to win, and Palin could make it happen...Posted by vernon"

You didn't even know who the HELL Palin was until McLame chose her. Chugging away from the koolaid barrell big time these days, eh?.

Obama: 18 million people voted for him. Come November that grows exponentially.

Palin: Picked by a man who had JUST MET HER. Lack of Judgement. A Polished evangelical turd.

This idiotic republican strategy of comparing Obama to a VP pick started off real well.

First the 'right' thought Palin would siphon off Hillary Voters...that was until those voters discovered this 'girl' was a religious wacko who was Anti-abortion, Anti-gay, Pro-oil, Pro-lobby and a Creationist!

Then they call her the Glass Ceiling Breaker, Intelligent, Knowlegable...

But we discover;

Caribou Barbie thinks the Pledge of Allegience and it's 'One Nation Under God' were around 230 years ago and supported by the 'Founding Fathers'

Caribou Barbie is a Fart Joke! And I can only surmise that McCain's people desperately searched the whole country to find the 1 person who was the 'least' corrupt amongst the party.

Or Perhaps Dobson and his con-men convinced McCain they would throw their voters to him if he picked this Religious Beauty Queen runner-up.

My Goodness. A Party in death throes. How sweet it is.

Sweeter than candy!

McLame: You can run. But you can't hide

"BTW I don't regret voting for McGovern either even though he wimped out there."

I watched him be interviewed a couple of days ago, he sort of said the same thing about that incident.

IN HER YOUTH??? She's in her 40's now. She was in her 30's when she attended meetings. That's YOUTH???

Cons have kinda a funny idea of youth. Remember Henry Hyde?

Mister "youthful indiscretion".

At 48.

Well, heck, I wouldn't want my children born in TEXAS either. Whatever's wrong with those people over there might be catchin'!

"Alaska first, America second? I think it's a serious question where Sarah Palin's loyalties lie."

Well as governor she vetoed budget appropriations for state police and fire protection in order to pay for pet projects. She campaigned for governor that she would "take care of" her home town.

www.dailykos.com

Instead of making an issue of Sarah Palin joining a group that wants the idea of seceding from the U.S. (gee the 90's can you say Bubba Clinton?) to be considered you should be wondering how 0bama is gonna handle the attempts to secede (if not outright civil war) if he's elected when he actually tries to shove his socialist nanny government down America's throat.

"you should be wondering how 0bama is gonna handle the attempts to secede (if not outright civil war) if he's elected when he actually tries to shove his socialist nanny government down America's throat."

LOL. That will never happen. As much as it pains you to hear, I feel I must tell you:

The Turner Diaries are fiction.

She's a TERRRIST! We can't have someone associated with TERRRIST's in the White House!

palin is choosing a new flag for alaska

it looks just like the southern cross

I confess that I have given money to both the Texas and California secessionist movements. I've always believed that this country would be better off without those two states.

Dumper, why do you keep talking about "ass-bags" today?

Whether she stays or goes McCain's goose is cooked.

His judgement on his VERY FIRST presidential decision was a disaster.

Spin it all you want Righties, eventually you're gonna have to face the facts.

I've come up with a name for a new place:

"Conservadonia"

Let Alaska secede. All NeoCon conservatives can move there, use AK-47's to hunt, and live free of pragmatic moderate Americans.

Plus, Canada would provide a nice buffer zone so they can't screw up the lower 48 ever again.

Wow, gotta love that woman. ANOTHER reason to vote for her. She realized back in the 1990's how screwed up our country was!

Maybe she will help put it back!

It all makes sense now.

Palin has been positioning herself as Queen Caribou Barbie, and that wrinkly nutsack McCain derailed her.

That's why she was so forthcoming about Baby Oopsie - she wants to be sent back to her queendom, where, if her secessionist efforts are successful, she can have a Coronation parade in the royal Camaro, waving to her loyal subjects through the T-top.

It's the hypocracy I can't stand. Let's call a spade and spade... she stinks as a VP candidate. She does not have ANY national experience and barely has state experience.

But Republicans will go on and on about how she'd be really good as the VP!

How do you people lie to yourselves? Or are you just lying to the rest of us? Dear God, let's have some intellectual honesty.

Somebody tell Sarah we settled this matter during the Civil War.

And, no, there is no proof Jesus wants Alaska to be independent.

Protesting the War in Iraq = hate America

Working to remove your state from the United States = love America

...this is conservative logic.

Wow, gotta love that woman. ANOTHER reason to vote for her. She realized back in the 1990's how screwed up our country was!

Todd Palin Was Registered Member of Alaska Independence Party Until 2002

By Kate Klonick - September 2, 2008, 3:25PM

The McCain camp today disputed rumors that presumptive vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was ever registered with the secessionist Alaska Independence Party by releasing years of voter registration history . . . but it looks like that doesn't apply to her husband.

This afternoon, the director of Division of Elections in Alaska, Gail Fenumiai, told TPMmuckraker that Todd Palin registered in October 1995 to the Alaska Independence Party, a radical group that advocates for Alaskan secession from the United States.

Besides a short period of a few months in 2000 when he changed his registration to undeclared, Todd Palin remained a registered member of AIP until July 2002 when he registered again as an undeclared voter.

tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo
.com

Gidget may not have been a member of the AIP, like hubby, but it's confirmed she made videos welcoming that Party to Fairbanks as Governor.

ABCNEWS.com has a story saying the former head of AIP states Sarah Palin was a member and attended meetings.

I'd say if she was a member of a secessionist group she can't be VP. Anyone disagree?

Our government slowly seems to be turning into a globalist socialist government.

Open borders, state health care, high taxes, WELFARE, ignoring immigration, scattered all over the third world, building huge labor unions so we can not compete with other countries!

People of America how fortunate for the politicians that you do not think!

We don't need to succeed from the union.. Just get back to WE the people and get the constitution out of congresses trash can and read it.

Go Palin and McCain!

"Palin has been a registered Republican since 1982, and has never been a member of the Alaskan Independence Party. Palin addressed the Independence Party's state convention by video earlier this year, welcoming the party to Fairbanks. She gave no indication of a current or past connection to the party. "Your party plays an important role in our state's politics," she said in the video, which is posted on the party's Web site. "I've always said that competition is so good, and that applies to political parties as well."
gatewaypundit.blogspot.com

Hmmm. I thought the Constitution was just that damned piece of paper? No? But the question I really want answered is has Palin seen Jefferson Davis recently, and how is he doing?

Let's look at it this way---Had Obama made a video welcoming a secessionist group the Right would be howling for his skin---And rightfully so.

The AIP is not political "competition". It is necessarily anti-American. It does not believe in America. Palin should be ashamed.

The most interesting thing about Palin is that she is from a small town. She is real and people from small towns get this. Rural America likes her. The press does not understand her.

Almost every person I know (rural Ohio) is very excited about her as VP.

I think you should vote for Gidget E. Lee, Sam. But as far as a lot of us are concerned the question of the indivisability of the Union was settled in 1865.

Go Palin and McCain!

Thanks, Sam, that's it exactly.

Go. Just go.

I kid you not this evening a repub wing nut was on MSNBC he said "there is no reason that Governor Failing, uh Palin" does not have the qualifications etc. etc., etc. I am sure there will be a you tube video that goes viral on that one here in about 3, 2.......

How can you lead America, when you were part of a group that never wanted to be a part of it in the first place...

Probably the same way that the founding fathers could lead our nation all the time realizing that some state(s) might decide to leave the union. Look up some history about the North East US and Thomas Jefferson.

She wanted to secede fro the union???!!!

Damn, I know the GOP can find someone better than this.

Watching the liberal media and you morons floundering around trying desperately to find an issue to ruin this woman life is sad to watch. It proves that the Democratic party has become the party of divisiveness, hatefulness and power junkies.

Look at what you have tried to throw at this woman.

Here 17 yr old daughter is pregnate
Well, Obamas mother was 17 and unmarried when she got knocked-up with BHO.

Her husband had a DUI 22 years ago.
By his own admission Obama was snorting coke and smoking pot 22 years ago.

She is being ACCUSED of being part of a separatist movement.
Obama belonged to a Marxist Church for 20 years (yes, black liberation theology is Marxist, look it up).

She is accused of using her power to influence people in government.
Obama funneled millions of dollars to a know terrorist and millions more to a convicted slum lord in exchange for favors--
Bidens brother and son are being taken to court for securities fraud.

You need to remove the log from your own eye before you bitch about he splinter in Palins.

After checking the partys archives, Ms. Clark said that she could find no documentation that Governor Palin had been a member of the party. She said Ms. Palin attended the partys 1994 and 2006 conventions and provided a video-taped address as governor to the 2008 convention.

Again this story was a typical brainless attempt to smear a candidate that scares the piss out of you liberals. The more you attack her, the stronger she becomes. In a poll out this morning half of democratic women said that the baseless attacks on Palin are making them angry enough at the Dems to vote for McCain. There goes your base moron.

"In a poll out this morning half of democratic women said that the baseless attacks on Palin are making them angry enough at the Dems to vote for McCain."

Could you post that poll for us please?

"Could you post that poll for us please?"

Helloooooooo?

My dear Mutt---Why was Gidget attending AIP Conventions? Why as recently as 2006? Just eye-fucking the secessionists, pardon my French?

I think it's a decent question for a debate. I hope it gets asked. I think no matter what Palin says concerning it it makes her look strange as hell.

Mutt---We had some Texas secessionists down here a few years back and what a collection of loons they were. I didn't like them, nor was there any reason to. I don't like the AIP, nor is there any reason to.

But Palin, registered member of the AIP or not, seems to like them a lot. I want to know what the point of that is.

I'm a little confused... Are you arguing that the Democrats are sleazy OR Democrats are just as sleazy as Republicans? All of the points you discuss regarding Obama have been rehashed countless times on the DR and I get emails at least once a week w/much more viral stuff about Obama than you mention.

I too, find the attacks on Palin to be especially rabid and hypocritical. Personally, I think it's because Democrats have been on the defensive in regards to issues of religion, morals/values, and patriotism for the past 3 decades. They're working right out of the Rovian playbook and when they see any sign of weakness, right-or-wrong they go for the jugular. In terms of Palin's future illegitimate grandchild, the Democrats are again following Rove's lead: Obama takes the high road and lets his minions do the dirty work. This is just like Bush and the now infamous accusation regarding McCain's illegitimate black baby. Bush "denounced" the accusations and got to take the high road, while reaping the rewards of the damage to McCain by it all.

In this election, Obama (and his wife) have been repeatedly accused of not being proud of or even hating America. Is it really a surprise that Palin's (and her husbands) link to a secession group is an issue? Is being (or being married to one) an Alaskan separatist that much different than belonging to a black radical church?

Several months ago, an Obama quote regarding contraceptives and sex ed was taken out of context and he was accused of wanting to distribute condoms to children. Is it really a surprise that Democrats are going after Palin's very visible failing on the issue of teen pregnancy?

Months ago, when it was apparent this election was going to be between Obama and McCain, I had high hopes of a dignified and clean election. Was I ever wrong... I think this is only the beginning of an especially sleazy, hypocritical, and superficial election season.

Bristols Bf was arrested last year on poaching charges.

Is it really a surprise that Palin's (and her husbands) link to a secession group is an issue?

Sorry this is just another lie made up by the left-wing media to try to distroy Palin. Liberals are not only hipocrites but can't even make up a good lie that sticks.

"Alaska Party Official Says Palin Was Not a Member"

"September 2, 2008"

"The chairwoman of an Alaskan political party that advocates a vote on the states succession from the union said Tuesday that she had been mistaken when she said Gov. Sarah Palin was a member of the group...A front-page story in The New York Times on Tuesday and articles in other news media reported that Ms. Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party for two years in the 1990s."

"Is being an Alaskan separatist that much different from belonging to a Black radical church...?'

That depends. Did Obama ever want Illinois to secede from the Union?

This is funny. Integrity of national boundaries is about as fundamental political issue as you can find.

I'm sorry you think people are just screwing with Gidget. However, I want to know to whom Gidget wanted to give my country to.

"Poaching charges..."

It's awful what Alaskans can do to an egg.

Still waiting for you to post that poll, Muttley.

I can't help but laugh at ZED, SanAntonio, and you other left-wingnuts. Sarah Palin is scaring you so much that you are pissing in your panties. The venom you are throwing shows a level of desperation beyond normal political discourse.

Is it because your candidate is so weak and you know it that you feel you have to destroy any threat? Her daughter, her husband, fabricated membership with a secessionist party.

After Palins speech tonight she will hand you your little balls, field dressed like a moose, and McCain will have a 15 point jump, at least, in the polls and Obama will start trying to play the race card again.

You are so pathetic. If it were not so much fun to see all of you squirm and grope in the dark for something else to use to assassinate Palins character I wouldn't waste my time hear. But just like in 2000 and 2004 the silence from you idiots on the Wednesday after the election is so sweet. I look forward to it again.

Sorry I studdered. I'm just so excited that we have viable ticket and you have empty suit and a 30 year Washington insider on an upside-down ticket.

Still waiting for you to post that poll, Muttley.

Amazing to see just how desperate the rightwingnuts have become. Making up utter bullsh*t to somehow make themselves feel better.

RIGHT ON BRO

and this group now says that she WASNT A MEMBER that it was her husband who was and she did speak at a convention.........AS the governor

so will cnn sends reporters there to check on this? I doubt it

Just for the record BL2 - I never said anything about whether she was or was not a member of this group.

I merely asked the woefully inadequate Mr. Muttley to produce evidence of "a poll out this morning half of democratic women said that the baseless attacks on Palin are making them angry enough at the Dems to vote for McCain."

Thus far he has been unable to do so.

I didnt mean to say that you did

but theother day.........JAMES CARVILLE DID....he said it plainly and clearly that the association says she was a member and the association says she is NOT

so will the butt ugly, cobra headed, mother grabbing coonass come back and say he was lying???

I doubt it.........

and dont be offended.........a coonass is one of the best people you could ever be around

no flag pin

You got the name and post number correct, but I never said ANYTHING about a flag pin.

You may want to double-check your info and attribute that post to it's rightful owner.

Sorry, here it is.

I think there must be a typeo in there, somewhere... as I am having trouble finding the poll. Maybe it was a British poll, and it was 'snogmyarse.com?' A little help, please...?

But seriously, I just can't wait for the next week or two to play out. That small-town cheerleader isn't as clean as McCain thinks... Anyone who's grown up in a small town knows that the cheerleaders there are filthy, filthy girls... But, I digress...

Now, has it been mentioned how hypocritical the Right is being with the pregnancy? If it were Obama's daughter, would they be as brave and a 'typical American family...' Or, would it be a 'broken family with no moral ground...', etc..

Palin might be an attack dog, but that bitch needs a bath... 'cause she's NOT clean.
