Republican officials threw away the script for today's start to their presidential nominating convention because of Hurricane Gustav, canceling tonight's speeches by President Bush and Vice President Cheney.

Once again, a hurricane defines the presidency of Bush.

Gustav turns out to be a blessing for McCain because Bush won't show up at the party.

Bush won't show up at the party.

But what of the adoring masses greeting him as a liberator?

I guess the parade with all the flowers gets cancelled, once again.

The Republicans were praying for this hurricane. Now they have Gustav on their side. Fundamentalists eat this stuff up.

Very wise of the two of them to duck and cover right now.

I guess the parade with all the flowers gets cancelled, once again.

I guess so. But the relevant point is that your longing, aching desire to tie Bush to McCain ain't going to happen. And Mcain -- meanwhile -- gets to talk to America about hurricane relief.

HAR~! HAR!

I'm disappointed that the convention won't feature Bush and Cheney. I was looking forward to seeing how the Republican Party faithful dealt with the leaders who have left the GOP in its worst shape in decades and all-but-guaranteed a large Democratic majority in both houses of Congress.

Think again.

Good! This will help!

How about the fact that mc same has become a different person since running for president, based on his previous stands on issues.

and just coincidentally, they happen to be the same stands that bush has.

Varmit, the goal is to laugh last.

the weather did the gop a favor

Mixed blessing, SHAWN

Got Bush and Cheney off the stage - Good

Reminded America of the utter failure of Katrina - Bad

Bush and Cheney are preparing for the hurricane; Bush is playing his guitar and Cheney is shooting people in the face.

The GLOP...excuse me, of course I meant the GOP...must be breathing a collective sigh of relief! The LAST thing they need is to have Shrub and Darth Cheney show up to remind everyone of exactly what the past almost-8 years have been like. I mean, right now they want people to LIKE them and their candidates! They don't need Shrub gazing vacantly into the cameras or Darth Cheney sneering down at the peasants gathered at his feet.

Bush is playing his guitar and Cheney is shooting people in the face.

ba-dump-bump.

I thought Cheney was having his cold inhumane chromium heart re-polished and Bush was sitting in the corner, rocking back and forth, muttering, 'I know i'm better than my daddy, i just know it.'

Why does God hate Bush and Cheney?

Sorry, silly question.

In all seriousness Spud was looking forward to hearing the excuses this pair of shitheads had to offer and then belittling them in realtime.

Dangit.

Now they won't have even have a chance to offer excuses fer their inexcusable actions.

Be Well.

whew! at least i get to cancel shot of tequilla party every time i heard 9/11 or terror.

Oh man. That could've been alcohol poisoning! Do like the booze companies whisper out the side of their mouthes after a commercial glorifying drunkenness! Make up RESPONSIBLE drinking games!

Now back to your regularly scheduled RANT.

Nice to see Dubya actually taking an interest.

Remember when Katrina hit, Bush and McCain were in Arizona cutting McCain's 69th birthday cake? Almost to the day.

Let them eat cake!

I like these videos... nice production value and really bring forth McCain's most charming attributes.

What, the sitting President and Vice-President aren't important enough to be rescheduled? Their own party doesn't have enough respect and admiration for them to make sure that they speak? There's no 3rd rate congressmen that can be bumped for the 2 highest ranked members of the party?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

But the relevant point is that your longing, aching desire to tie Bush to McCain ain't going to happen.

Really? Let me help you with that...TOO LATE!

McCain=Bush

McCain voted to support Bush over 90% of the time.

I'd say that McCain has certain judgment problems or that he is very closely tied to Bush's policies.

Or both.

"McCain voted to support Bush over 90% of the time."

But that's over the entire administration. In the last two years, those numbers have gone up, meaning as the country realizes how bad Bush has been, McCain thinks Bush is doing better & better.

Mr Magoo and his beautiful MILF are not going to be able to change the fact that voting for McCain is just asking for more of the same. Though I gotta admit, I love the Moose Hunting Major story more and more!

Are you sure there wasn't a movie about this?

America!

What a country!

I guess so. But the relevant point is that your longing, aching desire to tie Bush to McCain ain't going to happen.

Sorry verny, It's already been done. Stop pretending it's some big secret. The public knows.

McSame's record is clear. McCain + Bush = McSame.

More hurricanes in the Atlantic, valid excuses for McSame and Palin not to speak as well. Could be first convention with no speeches to embarrass REpublicans.

I find it very convenient that an issue such as her unwed teenage daughters pregnancy, which was supposedly known about for some time, would only be released yesterday when Gustav dominated the news.

Then all day yesterday requestes for interviews were denied because of the "seriousness" of the hurricane.

More McBullshit.

McBullshit has voted with Bush 90% of the time.

Seems like McBullshit has an aching desire to be tied to the Bush failures.

no shit...who would listen?
