Some are questioning whether a Jacksonville city leader showed favoritism when he ordered sandbag crews to help U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Jacksonville, during Tropical Storm Fay.

At least Brown wasn't taking brown bags of cash from her freezer.

Apparently a neighbor asked for the same assistance Brown got, but was refused... and even laughed at.

Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnn don'tcha think ole Trent Lott got preferential treatment during Hurricane Katrina??

Larry

um, larry? he lost his home - HELLOH!

Did he, LAR? If so, maybe you can provide some evidence. He may well have, but that was never in the news, to my knowledge. If you have no knowledge, evidence, or anything else... then why bring it up?

I read recently a Kansas bank is going under. Is it near you?
www.bloomberg.com

That wasn't the point Nanc Helloooooooooooooo

Larry

Huh?

NANC-
Don't let a pesky fact or two get in the way of a good story. Killjoy.

LAR-
Ease off the knee jerk button for a moment. My point is primarily that elected officials necessarily seem to get preferential treatment during times like these.

That Jefferson got cash from the freezer was unknown to those he'd asked to get him to his home. Those folks were doing a special favor for an elected official. This is not so much a "party" thing as a preferential treatment thing.

No OohRah it was on the news. You need to Jump Back with Your balderdash about Knee Jerk reactions. I know what the fuck is going on. Oh and I would jump back too OohRah because You slam every Democrat but never once do I see You slam a Republican Conservative I wonder why Hmmmmmmm.

Larry

PS That bnank is 2 hours away from Me just a FYI

"...never once do I see You slam a Republican Conservative I wonder why Hmmmmmmm." - LAR

At the risk of igniting something, I'm laying myself at the mercy of the DR court. Folks, you know me by now.

Take a look at this thread, the headline, LAR's and my comments... and think back on the many times I've had sarcastic remarks about those within the "conservative" movement and those in power, in general.

In your opinion, is LARRY justified in his comment?

Ease up LAR. Enjoy life. Poke a little fun at your views, your party, etc. Admit when you've done a silly knee-jerk and move on.

You were demonstrated to be wrong about Trent Lott's home. I didn't bash you.

You were proven wrong a couple of other times you challenged me directly - one dealt with party affiliation and church identification. (I can't recall the other one - maybe it's old age)

See there You go again OohRah. I am not wrong OohRah it was on the news for fuck sake. It wasn'tyy that His home was spared it wasn't But He got preferntial treatment after the disaster. Please do try again for aYou know not what You speaqk about.

Larry

oh larry - HELLOHHHHHHHH!

how've you been?

and what preferential treatment? did i miss something?

" did i miss something?"

Politicians getting special favors? I'm shocked, I tell you.

Next we'll be hearing about politicians' sons being bumped to the head of the TANG recruiting line to avoid the draft, or Admirals' sons getting in to the Naval Academy regardless of attitude or ability.

Yeah Nanc He got FEMA help long before a lot of the others did. Oh but He is a Republican that is OK in Y'alls books.

Larry

funny larry - i don't know any republicans who'd accept much fema help...just sayin'...of course, neither will the democrats in these parts.

I think Northguy is either a traffic cop or a highway construction worker.

All that redirecting...

I know what the fuck is going on.

Really? Don't be so partisan.

One things for sure, Reynolds may have survived the Foley scandal thanks to a well-timed storm and the amazing celerity with which FEMA came to the rescue

www.themonkeycage.org

In the aftermath of the summer 2004 Florida hurricane season, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) distributed $1.2 billion in disaster aid to Florida residents. This research presents two empirical findings that collectively suggest the Bush administration engaged in vote buying behavior. First, by tracking the geographic location of each aid recipient, the data reveal that FEMA treated applicants from Republican neighborhoods much more favorably than those from Democratic or moderate neighborhoods, even conditioning on hurricane severity, home value, and demographic factors.

Like baptist at the local liquor store, no one recognizes fellow church members.

Bad visuals for Ms. Brown-she should have been out there bagging sand instead of getting special favors..

Katherine Harris, stepped up, offering to bag needy Republican maless and using her boobs to keep a small suburb safe.

Not to mention that she went out without spackling on her makeup and scared the flood waters away.

mAnn Coulter was overheard saying that next time she would use her adam's apple to ferry stranded homeowners to safety.

PROVE IT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

what about all the special treatment william j. jefferson from LA got?

YEAH!

Once again the faithful come out and demonstrate that in todays conservative-- circles Chivalry is an Antiquated and Quaint Memory of a what was once principle--!

Instead they whine and compare! Whats next I wonder, Broken Dick Wailin that someone didnt hold the Door Open to that Cracker of a fossle named Lott?

Way to preserve American Values Folks!

Next we'll be hearing about politicians' fathers buying them into the presidency...or maybe Soro's buying a president.

That was a gift from the GOP. The whole idea of the FBI investigating what they did in their Congressional offices scared the bejeeebers out of them. That, and the prison system couldn't handle another influx of elected Republicans.

Like baptist at the local liquor store, no one recognizes fellow church members.

Farmer Jones' pickup truck broke down in front of the bar. Widow Smith, the local morality expert and fellow Baptist Church member told everyone Jones was a drunk, "because everyone knows there's only one reason to park that long in front of a bar."

Jones said nothing, but took to parking his truck in front of Widow Smith's house overnight.

WOW. I read it at first glance as "Florida Congresswoman Got Special Help Doing Fag". I need to give my eyes a rest....

Link?

I liked it when James Dean used to say "Link or Stink".

Then he always stunk.

What's the beef about. Rank has its privileges.

We saw the same type of favoritism during the Katrina event with politicians receiving special coniseration and help.

This is how it has always been, and how it will remain.

Unless, of course, where's Robespierre? He'll equalize things.
