Nebraska's new safe-haven law allowing parents to abandon unwanted children at hospitals, no questions asked, goes beyond newborn babies and potentially permits the abandonment of anyone under 19. "Whether the kid is disabled or unruly or just being a hormonal teenager, the state is saying: 'Hey, we have a really easy option for you,'" said Adam Pertman, executive director of a New York adoption institute.

Hey, it's better than paying child support.

ah and now we see more of the liberal legacy
and it all starts with not giving a shit about innocent life in the womb.
nice going liberal fucks

You dammed blowhard!

How many are you going to adopt?

A good reason to make abortion available on demand and by demand. Get rid of the unwanted before they become a burden on society.

If a person can't handle a problem (whatever the problem) child, then she shouldn't have children. If a person can't afford to raise a child, then she shouldn't have children.

Personal responsibility begins in the womb.

Nebraska is about as far from Liberal as you can get...as the other person said, you BLOWHARD!

"ah and now we see more of the liberal legacy"

Nebraska is a red state, favoring McCain by 18 points. Their Governor and Lt. Gov are Republicans.

But any port in a storm, eh?

"State Sen. Arnie Stuthman, who introduced the original bill dealing only with infants, agreed to the compromise after the bill became stalled in debate."

Yeah, that damn liberal Republican Stuthman!

Seriously, BL2, do you even try anymore?

Nebraska Librul?

Y'all shouldnt drink before 9:am!

Personal responsibility begins in the womb.

Personal responsibility begins before the womb.

I think it begins before you feel which hand feels better, but thats just me

you cant argue against abortion and then against baby abandonment laws bushlovertwo. You would think the cognitive dissonance you experienced when pounding out that inane post would have crippled your neo-cortex to the point where you couldn't use a keyboard, but I guess ignorance is a good insulator for that.

BLT, you stupid dumb fuck. If someone is disturbed enough to think about abandoning their child they should definitely be allowed to since they will absolutey ruin the life of the child if forced to raise them. It is far better the child gets taken on by the state and hopefully adopted by caring parents.

You really are a fucking moron. Real fucking ignorant. Real fucking stupid. A complete waste of your carbon footprint. I doubt you will even make useful compost when you eventually pass on, friendless, into the afterlife.

There should be a Constitutional Ammendment forbidding straights raising children!!!!!!

Some people aren't qualified to be parents. Some can't handle the challenge of working and raising a child. There just isn't enough time in the day, and the child ends up hanging out with the wrong people. It shows a great deal of courage to admit the state would probably give your child a better life. That IS the point.

Some may abandon children with medical difficulties. I can certainly understand that. The state can better afford the medical payments.

Of course he can. It fits in exactly with his logic. The baby is punishment for fucking around before marriage, and giving the baby up is getting off light in your punishment.

You didn't really think he was concerned for the fetus or the baby did you?

"A good reason to make abortion available on demand and by demand."

Not good enough. Infanticide should also be an acceptable alternative. Why put the burden on the state to find someone to raise an unwanted child?

Nine months before birth -- nine months after.

Keep abortion legal, just make a live recording of the different abortion methods part of the sex ed curriculum. If there is nothing wrong with it why not show everyone what its all about?

BLT=best of the DR right....

what does a hospital tell an 18 year old who gets dropped off?

I'll let you know. I'm on my way there right now with my 17 year old. Do you suppose I should feed him lunch first? Or will the good citizens of Nebraska take care of that too?

Seriously, BL2, do you even try anymore?

he's got nothin'.

He's working with a failed President, two failed wars and a failed GOP.
He's down to "get off my lawn, you darned libruls..."

"what does a hospital tell an 18 year old who gets dropped off?"

Get a job.
