Barack Obama and John McCain have agreed to three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate during the fall presidential campaign. They will debate foreign policy and the economy Sept. 26 at the University of Mississippi, take town hall questions Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, and debate economic and domestic policy Oct. 15 at Hofstra University in Long Island, N.Y.

Yes, just as soon as McStupid kicks that high powered intellect into high gear, he may be able to answer a question that is not part of his scripted speeches.

It'll be a lamefest from both sides.

Mumble mumble HOPE mumble mumble CHANGE.

I like Pancakes!

I've got a new game for the debates.

Every time McCain forgets a question right after it was asked - Drink
Every time McCain nods off - Drink
Every time Joe Lieberman has to yell from the audience to correct McCain - Chug

Everytime Obama blushes....never mind.

I was told yesterday I'll get a ticket to the debate at Belmont University. That oughta be pretty cool. Never been to a presidential debate.

Great opportunity, AU.

We're expecting some eyewitness reaction.

Your candidate is the stammering inexperienced black guy.

AU, and try not to get arrested.

LIPZODIAL

Not on your life. I'll be in my coat and tie on my best behavior.

COOKFISH

Yawn

Dude, that's hellacool!

Be there or be square.
Be a part of history!

One of only three sanctioned debates?

Why only three?
Why only one Veep debate?

Is rip off!

We had how many lame-assed debates getting to this point?

Now there's gonna two POTUS debates inna south, one in NY and a Veep debate in St Louis and it's done?

Seems skimpy.

Meh, beggars can't be chosers and Spud is already stocked right up onna Orville Reddenbachers in anticipation of the debates to come.

Must see teevee fer the dedicated political news wonk.

Enjoy the show, AU.

Should be good.

Be Well.

/G08ama!

//Yup, as he do,
stage left.

Look for a square lump in the back of McCain's suit in these debates just like Chimpy used.

Without being able to hear the questions and answers of his opponent ahead of time, McSame will be a stuttering, mush-mouth.

"Look for a square lump in the back of McCain's suit in these debates just like Chimpy used.'

No way.
Progress; Brain implant.

SPUD

I'm pretty excited about being able to attend. Bummer is I only get one ticket and my wife won't be able to go. She's not so big on fighting crowds anyway so it's all good.

One thing that will make it easier debate night is I have a buddy who lives a block from the Curb Center where I can park rather than trying to find parking on a small college campus where 800 bazillion TV trucks will be parked as well.

DOC

You'll probably be able to see better than I will. But, I'll report on the experience regardless. Not sure how close I"ll get with all the mucky mucks going that night, but every seat will probably be pretty good. Town hall format should mean they'll have McCain and Obama center court.

Never been to a presidential debate.

Funny thing is that come November, Gampy McBush will be saying the same thing.

My ex was at the Hillary-Barack fracas in Austin.

He had her stoked.

I am so writing in Paris Hilton.

I like this one, sauced...

Here's an addition to the rules:

Have your friends over, an equal amount from each "Party", then the Repubs play by your rules and the Dems play by these rules:

Everytime Yomama says, Um, Er, Uh, Em, and otherwise stammers and reaches for words with his patented mumble, you have to Drink.

Any takers on which team passes out first?

OK, I'll make it easier for you libbers, we'll apply the same "Um Er Rules" to McCain, so when he does it, the Repubs have to also drink.

Now any takers?

Come on sauced, AU, nonsense, G, spud, et al!

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One question, did nobama insist that he be able to use a teleprompter in each of these fake debates?

In other words, will each question be previously revealed so that each answer can be properly and smooooooooothly articulated which proves that this Harvard grad can actually read?

...I'll bet he has a back-up one handy this time, just in case he gets stymied again, and looking like the big-eared deer in the headlights that he is... ala, breathalyzer, inhalator, claiming he hasn't slept in three days (as if sleep deprivation would never happen to a POTUS).

I'd like to see both of them be required to wing it without prior knowledge of the questions, no notes either...

Afterall, after campaigning for a year or more, if by now they don't know their positions, then "shirley" they won't be able to lead this nation.

Awesome. Now there will be only THREE nights where I smash my head in with a hammer.

"Obama, McCain Agree to 3 Debates"

Is this new 'news' or recycled 'news'? Heard this months ago.

I guess when Obama said "Anytime, anywhere" he REALLY meant "A few times, with no unexpected questions."

Lehrer, Browkaw, and Schiefer? This is a lineup that'll toss bombs at McCain, and give Obama a pass. How about a little balance?

Why not conservative newscasters or think tank participants as questioners.

Will anyone on this panel ask Obama to justify his support of murdering babies, when the attempt to kill them by aborting them has failed, and they remain alive? Will anyone question Obama regarding his support for late-term abortion, when a suction device is put in the babies' skulls, and their brains sucked out? Boy, I wish I were a questioner. Would I be fair? Of course, I'd be fair. I'd ask McCain why he didn't support the depraved practice of killing babies born alive.

I'd question Obama regarding his support and association with Ayers and his murderous wife, Beradette, unregenerate bomb throwers, who escaped serious consequences for their criminal behavior because of technicalities.

Ayers got a grant of more than $125 million, and chose Obama to head the project. The money was supposedly expended to improve education in Chicago, but there was no improvement, just a waste of money. Obama's buddy.

I'd inquire concerning Obama's association with his mentor and buddy, Rev. Jeremiah Wright for more than 20 years, and his swearing an oath to embrace liberation theology with its expression in the hate-mongering cult declaring its hate-America, hate whitey, hate-Jew doctrines.

In fact, I'd play excerpts from these statements, those of Ayers, who justifies his career as a terrorist saying its too bad he didn't do more, and dismisses the killings committed by his and his wife's terror group, and those of Wright, and also statements available of Obama lauding his two hate-America soulmates.

I'd also inquire concerning Obama's support for continuing black preference programs that have pumped money into the black community without improvement. I'd want to know if these are necessary to maintain the present staus quo, or if Obama believed any upgrading of school performance and decreased dependency could occur.

I'd also be interested in his sense of grievance and that of his wife, and his oath and dedication to advance the interests of blacks particularly, and how that was compatible with his allegiances if he were to be elected to the Presidency.

Hope somebody gets McMemoryloss to the debates. We all know after the first one he won't be able to remember how many more are left!

Townhall format--ooh--not good for Obama.

Hope somebody gets McMemoryloss to the debates.

I see we have a new ultra-lib on the DR. That's cool, but I just wish they would bring something new to the site instead of putting 'Mc' in front of a word or dependent clause. That shit is really bor*yawn*ing.

If the forum they attended the other night is any indication of how the debates will turn out, I expect John McCain will win in a landslide.

You might be right, Murph:
When it was pointed out that McCain's pronouncements on the economy often do not conform to his official positions, the candidate's chief economic adviser indicated that we should pay attention to the authorized version -- despite the fact that McCain "has certainly I'm sure said things in town halls" that might deviate.

In other words, don't pay such strict attention to what McCain says because he doesn't speak officially for his own campaign. No wonder he was so insistent on trying to lure Obama into a series of town hall encounters, where Obama might feel constrained by such irrelevancies as consistency and arithmetic.

(3) debates but how long are the debates?

John's "Depends" could leak thru if they last too long.

You guys on the left can make fun of McCain's age all you want, but it doesn't diminish the fact that your candidate is inexperienced. When the time comes, I think the voters will be smart enough to realize you don't give the most important government job to a rookie.

I'll take inexperienced over dishonest and senile any day. You can always hire experienced advisors. You can't hire morality or functioning brain cells. And given the inexperience of both Reagan and Dubya, since when did the GOPpers want experience over name recognition?

experienced enough to know the difference between Sunni and Shia..experienced enough to know that Checkoslovakia doesn't exist any more..experienced enough not to contradict his official standing on issues..

Bush gets more votes than Gore in FL
libs: "Bush cheated! Jeb hid the black votes"

Bush whips Kerry in '04
libs: "Bush cheated ! the Repubs rigged the voting machines"

First head to head look at McCain vs Obama at Saddleback and McCain wipes the stage with Obamas ass.
libs: "McCain cheated!, he heard the questions ahead of time!"

Geezer1 needs to learn to spell.

McCain will fall asleep during one of these debates and drool on his shoes. Old people are not good for anything except fertilizer.
