I'm skeptical about his 7th gold - the one he won by 100th of a sec.

They kept showing the underwater pics on tv, and frankly it looked to me like the one frame that would have proven Phelps won was purposely missing.

If they were trying to convince the public as to who won that race, they did a lousy job.

None the less, aside from Phelps probably being something of an idiot savant, I give him all the credit in the world. And then some.

He thanked all his relay teammates. But Phelps started his leg in 2nd and finished it with a sizable lead so I'm not sure how in that particular race you could say anyone else on the team made a greater contribution.

Phelps is pretty awesome, but oh man, that guy Usain Bolt was.... freakin' unbelievable. Imagine what the record would have been if he didn't stop running at 80m?

Yeah, that race was so close its almost as if he didn't overtake the leader until the very last 100th of a second.
