the primary purpose of the study is to see if war damaged veterans or those suffering a stroke can learn to communicate. using brain sensors, they monitor brain waves with common words to see if a translation can take place. it is not a "read your mind" study, sounds like a good and possible usefull study. it may be possible to have an individual use his thoughts to communicate, software is under development to do that. the extensive training required to do this would preclude using it to read or force a read of an ememies mind or by jelous husbands. many hadicapped people would love this if it really works.
