Georgia has Weapons of Mass Destruction!

Film at 11...

Not sure Georgia did the right thing in disturbing the water, but it gave a slick excuse for Russia to do what its been itching to do. The other nearby countries must have learnt a valuable lesson here. An expensive lesson paid by Georgia and extorted by the bully.

Though the damage has been done (Russia's image), Russia still has a chance to make itself appear reasonable by pulling back.

hoooo ooooow quess you told me

Maybe they can make a deal. Russia will pull out of Georgia if Bush will pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, lay off Iran and cut foreign aid to Israel.

Another profoundly dishonest statement from the mouth of a our lunatic leader. The NeoCon fuckers, harboring dreams of world domination, have deliberately put Saakashvili and hundreds of thousands of innocent people into a life and death situation. Busniess as usual for our fucking Boy King.

During the Olympic games Putin was surprised to learn of the insanely stupid Georgian attack. He bolted from the arena, flipping off Bush as he left. Bush wasmirking as usual. Bush has violated every treaty and promise between Reagan and Gorbachov. Russia is being surrounded by enemies. The US seeks to place so called "anti"-ballistic missiles around them, which can be quickly retargeted to their cities. Not content tolosetwowrs,Shrub has started a third. There issimply no way Saakashvili did this on hisown. He is a fool for doing it, granted, but someone in the White House promised tosupport him, if he did. What's thousands of deadbodies when the Republicans hold on the Presidency is at risk? McSame, has seized the moment, while NeoCongloat. Meanwhile the media lies continue unabated.

"Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st century," Bush said."

--------

Could the apeking open his mouth once and not be an international fucking embarasment? Once would be nice...

Georgia was used as a sacrificial pawn. There might be a strategy here to demonize Russia before the naval blockade or attack on Iran.

This is interesting.

"While criticizing Chinese authorities for lack of religious and political freedom, President Bush was caught flat-footed by the rebuke issued by Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who responded, We firmly oppose any words or acts that interfere in other countries internal affairs, using human rights and religion and other issues.--

Meanwhile, over at the "Takes one to know one" thread...

Bush calls PootyPoot a "Bully"?!

Hmmm... seems like introductions are well in order here...

Kettle, meet Pot.

Pot, kettle.

There, that's done.

Dumbya didn't even have to "look into Putin's eyes" to call that.

Just looked into a mirror.

Be Well.

/Anyone see TDS the other night?
//"Do these people not have short term memories?"

""Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st century," Bush said."

And Bush wins the Gold Medal for world-class hypocrisy.

" and somebody make Putin give back my lunch money, please."

Bush is off to Crawford for 11 days. I'm sure nothing bad will happen THIS time.

Whoa I can't believe some of these especially nutcase's post. Looks to me that Russia is intent on trying to rebuild their Soviet empire to some degree at this time possibly cause they're afraid that if McCain is elected it'll get too nasty for them if they try to do it in 2009.

"Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st century. Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected." -- President Bush

When did Bush start talking like he was jimmy carter?

Oh, when his disapproval rating went lower. LOL.

Man, this quote is so funny I have to paste it again:

"Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st century. Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected." -- President Bush

Iraq! You're either with us or against us! What a dolt...what a blithering fucking idiot this man is.

"Bullying and intimidation are not acceptable ways to conduct foreign policy in the 21st century. Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected." -- President Bush

I don't often laugh out loud but ya' gotta admit, George Bush can really come up with some funny shit.

The whole world must have dropped their jaw when they heard this one.

To quote one of America's greatest philosophers, "WHAT A MAROON!

What was queer was that Bush's bullying comment was yesterday's headline all day, as if his noble inner self was shining through all presidential and courageous-like. Even NPR lead with that sycophant story at the top of every hour.

Jeesh. Who said America isn't the biggest group mind-fuck cult going? And to think people die for this man.

Someone posted an interesting article written by some US Lt. Col. who lives in Russia. He tells a far different tale than the one coming out of Washington. He like many of us is concerned that Bush is purposefully trying to start a proxy-war in Georgia. We need to remember that the Georgians attacked in Assetia even shooting at Russian peacekeepers and killing many including civillians. I think Bush/Rice had hinted to Georgia that we would offer more than words of support if they tried to exert their influence over the secessionist territory of Assetia. When they did that they provoked a Russian response which they got but they, so far, did not get a matching physical response from the US and were somewhat disappointed, to say the least. Now we even have Joe fucking Lieberman heading over there to further meddle in this mess. Some even suspect the hand of Rove preceded this event and there are some odd coincidences which would lead one to believe that.
I believe America needs to remember that this is the same administration that LIED US INTO IRAQ.

"There's an old saying in Texas, I'm sure you have it here in Tennessee too....you can fool me once..."

some odd coincidences

You mean like McCain's foreign policy advisor being a paid lobbyist for Georgia, perhaps?

"And to think people die for this man (Bush)..."

That's always been a pisser. Like Alex, I see the irony of one bully scolding another to be very rich.

"That's always been a pisser. Like Alex, I see the irony of one bully scolding another to be very rich."

----

Like Stalin accusing Hitler of human rights violations.

it is absolutely no surprise that many liberal fucks here are backing russia on this instead of the democratic country trying to provide freedom for its citizens.

and krauthammer had all the right answers in his column yesterday

throw russia out of the 8
no winter olympics in 2012

and several other non military attacks on russia.........but I am sure that liberal fucks wont go for any of that

It's no suprise here that the dumbass neonazi fuckers here support the bush/cheney junta. No more than when their ilk supported hitler up until america went to war with him.

"Backing Russia...."

As far as I can tell, a pox on both their houses. Having said that, I have a scintilla more sympathy for the weaker antagonist, Georgia.

Having said that, thank God--Thank you, thank you God---Georgia wasn't a member of NATO.

I have to confess I never saw all that much difference between Bush and Putin. Both are cynical, authoritarian men.

Putin is way smarter, and i'd bet money a far better shot. At least when the birds don't have their wings cut off...

What happened? Did Putin put Bush in a headlock and give him noogies until Bush said "Uncle"?

bush is whining because his junta got its ass beat by the russian army. So now the lame duck jackass is makeing all sorts of meaningless threats to give the next guy an even tougher job of cleaning up all the scatalogical messes he's made. pissant...

and krauthammer had all the right answers in his column yesterday

throw russia out of the 8
no winter olympics in 2012

and several other non military attacks on russia.

Yeah sure, that will really scare Putin. What a maroon.

We liberals have no choice but to support Russia in this case.

Unfortunately for Georgia, their president believed that port-a-potty in D.C. we laughingly refer to the Bush administration.

Maybe if it's painful enough for them, Georgia will think twice the next time about expecting George Bush to cover their ass.

The poor slobs were duped. Apparently they don't know Bush 41 and 43 as well as we do.

Russia just signed the cease fire.

There won't be any war.

John McCain will just have to struggle along with the status quo.

No. I support none of them. One nazi mafia asshole really isn't much different than another.

What is embarasing is that many have allowed themselves to be deluded into thinking that the bush/cheney junta is any better than the russian one.

Not one of these motherfuckers gives a rats bloody ass about you, your family, your country, or anything else.

They care about their own power. That's it.

SHAWN

True and I agree.

But you gotta admit that this was a transparent attempt by the Bush administration to stir up some shit.

Remember, November 4 is only 80 days away and the party faithful aren't looking very faithful these days.

They need a war somewhere ~ anywhere ~ to keep the fear thingy going.

What better than a proxy war with big, bad, scary Russia.

I just chalk this up to another one of Bush's failed initiatives. And a lame one at that.

killing children makes for good tv ratings. as long as you censor the bloody bodies.

SHAWN

The time to worry about your kids is BEFORE you walk up and kick a grizzly bear in the ass.

Somebody should tell that to Georgia.

No. Someone should tell that to the bush/cheney junta that paid off and sold Georgia weapons etc.

Again, what is embarasing is the corporate media again sucking bush/cheneys/militarywarpigs dicks, which is clearly not in the interest of the average american.

Is Iran back on the burner now?

We liberals have no choice but to support Russia in this case.

WHAT???????? Are you kidding?

typical lib pussies. I bet you two gave up yor lunch money everyday.

You think it is ok for russia to murder people just because you hate the current aministration? WOW... You poor pathetic fucks.

Time to do some air strikes on the ruskies.

Ah the 't-shirts and nuclear weapons' argument. Go away shiteater. You have embarased the community enough talking from your butt.

Interesting report on Pravda.

There are other aspects which testify to a possible war in the nearest future. The USA is going to ship a radar station to Israel to track down missile launches. Furthermore, the United States intends to use the radar together with Israel . The USA will provide Israel with early missile launch prevention information, as well as technical and financial aid for the creation of the missile defense system.

According to Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, the radar station will be deployed in Israel before the new US administration officially takes the White House in January 2009.

The US administration believes that the radar station is required to defend Israel against Iranian missiles. It does not go about the deployment of interceptor missiles yet. Nevertheless, it is obvious that the distance to Iran is almost the same as the distance to Russia, which vehemently opposes the deployment of US missile system in Europe.

The station will give the USA an opportunity to use its radar towards Russia freely, without any explanations or control. In addition, the station will give Israel more confidence in its war preparations.

english.pravda.ru

I don't think the Russians will take this passively.

Fuck russia

Bush is a pussy.

Things are heating up.

Russia warns Israel against Tehran attack

UNITED NATIONS - Russia, one of the world's major powers, has warned of "disasterous consequences" if Israel attacked Iran's nuclear facilities.
"If things happen like threats of force and unilateral sanctions outside the framework of the [UN] Security Council, it is distracting from the negotiating process," Vitaly Churkin, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, said when asked to comment on a newspaper report about a large military exercise carried out by Israel this month as a rehearsal for a bombing attack on Iran.
On Saturday, The Washington Post said senior U.S. officials
confirmed that Israel had held a massive operation that involved the types of warplanes, distances and maneuvers required for airstrikes on Iran, a story which was first reported by The New York Times.
"A military move would have devastating consequences for the prospect of resolving the Iranian nuclear issue, for the region and internationally,"The Russian ambassadore added.

Oh Gog of the land of Magog (Russia)!!!!

Ah, threats from the North, on behalf of the rogue regime in Iran.... Predicted in the Bible....

Ezekiel 38 refers to the north of Israel, and Iran (Persia, v 5) joins the north (Russia) against Israel.

And in the end times, Russia may play in the final act (Revelation 20:8-9)

Iran Intercepts U.S. Terrorists Plotting Attack on Russian Consulate

As if to underscore neocon retired general Thomas McInerneys call for terror attacks against Iran (see Paul Joseph Watson, Neo-Con General Calls For Terror Attacks In Iran) , the Russian news and information agency RIA Novosti reports Iran has arrested a terrorist group that planned to blow up the Russian consulate building in the town of Rasht near the Caspian Sea, the Iranian intelligence and security minister said on Wednesday.--

It appears the neocons are attempting to drag Russia into the coming conflagration, particularly because Russia has cooperated with Iran, specifically in regard to Irans light water reactor at Bushehr. In late 2005, Russia proposed an arrangement under which Iran would end its uranium enrichment activities in return for a Russian guarantee to enrich, in Russia, all uranium needed for Iranian nuclear power plants, an arrangement permitted under the NPT. It appears the neocons and their terrorist proxies are now targeting Russia for its perceived impertinence.

Obviously, as the foiled attack on the Russian consulate demonstrates, this operation has expanded from simply targeting nuclear facilities again, entirely legal under the term of the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty and now includes directing terrorist groups against civilian and government targets.

Oh sure. John of Patmos foresaw the existence of Russia.

Ezekiel 38 refers to the north of Israel, and Iran (Persia, v 5) joins the north (Russia) against Israel.

Ezekiel was referring to Assyria.

Bible prophecy is bull crap. It's been wrong for two thousand years and yet every generation of fundy treats it as if it applied to their generation.

ray,

You seem to be a very lonely and bitter man. I will pray for you.

Hahahaha. I can't get entertainment like this on TV.

Hehehe... Ray is going about with silly interpretations....

Assyria was no longer a nation when this prophecy was uttered in Babylon.

Look at the map and Russia is to the north of Israel.... threats coming from the North

his meds have not kicked in yet

Takeit is quoting bible prophecies?
Yesterday he was claiming the Pentagon had invented perpetual motion..
Either that, or a way of harnessing the power of Rightwingnut spinners...
Pretty much the same thing.

Geeze, Ray, every thread I go on you're getting beat up by somebody.

Some Saturday night, huh?

Ray, you're misinterpreting/misreading things I've said (or not said) ....

I never said the Pentatgon had invented perpetual motion....

I said the Pentagon is experimenting with a company that has a solution to our energy crisis --- if raised to scale. Its no longer a question of if this science will work --- its proven to work --- its a matter of how soon this can be promoted and elevated to sky high scale.

I'm not kidding. This is not about spinning. Its about transitioning from fossil fuel to non-fossil fuel. Nuff said.

Ooops, the above was to Northguy.

And here we were, all thinking bush couldn't make the a bigger mess of the world before leaving office.

Gold medal of hypocrisy!

Has Bush ever accused Georgia of ethnic cleansing?

With us killing upwards of 500k+ Iraqis for dubious reasons, I really don't see what credibility Bush has in lecturing Putin.

Again Bush has us looking ridiculous.

Bush is certainly lacking in credibility on issues such as this. However, to take the leap of backing Putin/Russia on this is something which even Russia's allies haven't done. Belarus, Azerbaijan, the various "stan"s all remained silent on the issue (and stunned Russia by doing so, per the Moscow press). And when they spoke out, it was to call for a cease-fire and talks on the issue.

NEOCONdoleeza Rice has just been yammering away on FOX now making her little veiled threats that Russia better watch its step from now on.

Of course FOX news lies as usual and says nothing about Georgia starting this whole mess. And where was Vacation Boy Bush when all this mess was brewing anyway? You mean our heavy CIA presence in Georgia knew nothing about this until the guns started blazing.

Bush knew exactly what was brewing but he wanted another war. What scares me more than Bush is the rightwing lemmings who will believe anything told to them by Bush and FOX news.

The self-annointed "Queen of Soviet Studies" looks like a fool now on FOX because you can tell that Russia's neogiators wouldn't even speak to her when she went to the area. Neocondi had to get all her info second hand thru France. Can you blame Russia for not trusting Bush as far as they can throw him? No country trusts Bush -- not even his own.

Excellent column by Paul Craig Roberts in part.

This Time, the World Is Not Buying It

The success of the Bush Regime's propaganda, lies, and deception with gullible and inattentive Americans since 9/11 has made it difficult for intelligent, aware people to be optimistic about the future of the United States. For almost 8 years the US media has served as Ministry of Propaganda for a war criminal regime. Americans incapable of thinking for themselves, reading between the lines, or accessing foreign media on the Internet have been brainwashed.

As the Nazi propagandist, Joseph Goebbels, said, it is easy to deceive a people. You just tell them they have been attacked and wave the flag.

It certainly worked with Americans.

Only this time, the rest of the world didn't buy it. The many years of lies 9/11, Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, al Qaeda connections, yellowcake, anthrax attack, Iranian nukes, "the United States doesn't torture," the bombings of weddings, funerals, and children's soccer games, Abu Ghraib, renditions, Guantanamo, various fabricated "terrorist plots," the determined assault on civil liberties have taken their toll on American credibility. No one outside America any longer believes the US media or the US government.

The rest of the world reported the facts an assault on Russian civilians by American- and Israeli-trained and -equipped Georgian troops.

The neoconservatives represent the greatest danger ever faced by the United States and the world. Humanity has no greater enemy.

www.antiwar.com

"No country trusts Bush -- not even his own."

Which is probably why he thinks so highly of Putin. Even Putin's allies do not trust him.

Good article, Ray. I enjoy reading Paul Craig Robert's columns.

"The rest of the world reported the facts an assault on Russian civilians by American- and Israeli-trained and -equipped Georgian troops."

The rest of the world reported on the war between Russia and Georgia. No Russian civilians were involved there. Only civilians were Georgian and S.Ossetian and S.Ossetians to whom Russia had issued Russian passports in recent months.

Have you at all bothered to read the press of the rest of the world?

"... by Amrican trained and equipped Geogian troops ..."

As are troops of all the ex-USSR and East European countries. If/when Russia attacks them, will that also be a "legitimate" reason for Russia's attacks?

Good article, Ray. I enjoy reading Paul Craig Robert's columns.

The fact that 2 ideologically-opposed Drudgies (Ray and Nutcase) tout the guys speaks very well about him.

Indeed, Are you in agreement Jeff?

Jeff

You would be amazed by how many times Nutcase and I agree on things. At first I thought he thinks like me until I saw his solutions.

Ray,

I have tremendous respect for Nutcase's intellect and breadth of research.

That said, he takes the 'oligarchy conspiracy' to unhealthy levels.

Remedies aside, I view his stances as borderline paranoid, if for no other reason than demonizing an advocacy.

Regardless, the fact that his solutions are so different from yours, but the diagnosis of the problem is so similar, has given me tremendous pause on this broad issue - that the problem is as you two describe it.

Unless enough Americans can overcome their brainwashed state and the rigged Diebold voting machines, turn out the imbecilic Republicans and hold the neoconservatives accountable for their crimes against humanity, a crazed neocon US government will provoke nuclear war with Russia.

The neoconservatives represent the greatest danger ever faced by the United States and the world. Humanity has no greater enemy.

This does get to the heart of it. The neo cons saw the end of the Soviet Union as a chance to dominate the world. For the greater good of course. SDI, star wars defended and advanced at home as a defensive system is not and has never been intended to be one. It is an advancement on nuclear possbailities. The ability to threaten subtly the ability to use nuclear arms with out fear of reprisal. The Russians have always seen this possibility. Star wars would end a philosophy that works and has since the advent of nuclear weapons MAD.

"Humanity has no greater enemy."

Yeah, it does. Putin/Russia. Mr. "if you don't do what I want, I will punish you." And, as he told Poland, if it takes a nuke to do the punishing, a nuke it will be.

Maybe FYI is not aware of the Cuban Missile Crises during the Kennedy Administration.

"Maybe FYI is not aware of the Cuban Missile Crises during the Kennedy Administration."

And maybe I am since I was in high school at the time. And have a master's in history. Sorry, but the concept that poor Russia has to defend itself against all those "monsters" surrounding it doesn't fly. All of them put together couldn't knock off Russia or even dent it. On the other hand, Russia can destroy them, has enslaved them, keeps threatening to do so again.

FYI,

I am an American conservative, yet I analogize this incident in Georgia with the Cuban missile crisis.

Personally, I don't think the US would ever actually try to invade Russia. That said, they can point to a precedent in regards to Iraq. Add Georgia's actions with Poland signing off on a missile shield, and it's nopt too difficult to see where the Ruskies are coming from. Furthemore, I believe that its Putin's ambition to return Russia to pre-fall-status in terms of military capacity.

Posted by fyi at 2008-08-17 08:36

Bush is using the same defense excuse and the Russians are not buying it. The Cuban Missile Crises was a parallel example, only the roles were reversed.

Furthemore, I believe that its Putin's ambition to return Russia to pre-fall-status in terms of military capacity.

He has to because of American threats. If he was building up when there is no American threat, then I would reconsider.

Personally, I don't think the US would ever actually try to invade Russia.

Neither did the Soviets in '62.

It wasn't necessary.

Ray, you are definitely entitled to your opinions. However, you are essentially advocating that Putin be allowed to do as he pleases. You can take your arguments on his behalf to European forums, they will only laugh at you. If you do it at East European forums, they will rip you like you have never been riped. If you try your arguments in Poland, Estonia, etc., you will not like the results. These people have suffered for years because of Russia. They see Russia as trying to do the same again. They really do not give a flying fuck about your bug-in-your-ass re neo-cons. They are dealing with their lives. BTW, how did these arguments go for you during the Cold War?

I also wonder how you can make these arguments, being a libertarian and all. After all, don't you believe that the other person's rights extend only until they interfere with yours? Russia keeps threatening to walk into other countries, or at least to stomp them. Doesn't that go counter to libertarianism?

When I was in Europe in the 70s, I ran into quite a few people who were into the nuclear disarmament movement. Sounded great to me - way too many nukes around and too many crazies also. However, the more I talked with such people, going higher up the ladder, the more I learned that what they meant was that the U.S. should disarm. But not the Russians because they had no intentions of ever using their nukes (unlike the US) and needed them to protect themselves from the US. Interesting that when I met some of those people in the 90s (when I went to Europe), almost all were very anti-Russian. And some of those who were most vocal in the 70s wouldn't even meet with me. I guess that's how the world is. Some people learn, others stay stupid.
