Isn't this ironic. More than 4200 of our military boys are sent to die in Iraq only to supply China -- our biggest potential military enemy in the future -- with all the oil they could ever need. Way to go, Bush.

I find no irony at all in this. Who is going to extract and process that oil into usable products?
Exxon, Chevron, Shell, BP, Haliburton, etc.....

Who gets the profits off those transactions? Exxon, Chevron, Shell, BP, Haliburton etc.....

Of course these companies will have to pay a small concession fee to Iraq. The one entity that won't get a cent will be the US gov't. or the american people.

Very interesting.. I thought all the loonies on here have been screaming for years now that "Bush and Cheney" attacked Iraq for oil...

Seems not.. sorry boys, get a new slogan..

Bush says America has no problems. The Republican Party is dead.

But will it be U.S. oil companies for sure? Why wouldn't China National Petroleum Company be the one to extract the oil and build their own refineries over in Iraq? If someone has to get the oil -- and we all know that's why we went over to Iraq -- then why should we let China get it? Looks to me like this wasn't in the plans and Bush and Cheney never thought Iraq's government would actually make their own decisions and not them.

They did. You understand that bush/cheney cannot operate an oil company while in office?

But man oh man, the residuals are gonna be nice.

It's the same old republican mantra. Public dept to make private profit (for me and my friends).

and like chris said, it only cost 4000 ordinary lives. I wonder how much that comes out to per person. I'll bet it will be billions per person. That's not bad really unless you happen to be one of the dead soldiers families.

or you just happen to care about others and have somewhat of a give-a-shitter.

what a predicament the war pigs have put our nation in

Who ever controls the oil wins the world dominance. China owns our debt and Russia is competing for oil. Meanwhile the US is trying to solve global warming.

No, the invasion was for oil-if Bush hadn't been played by the Iranians and al sistani, the Iraq oil fields would have been auctioned off to a select group of oil companies for pennies on the dollar. You really should study some history before launching into a rightwing rant.

then again, reality and the right never connect.

Well heck China paid for the war I guess they get the oil.

Iraq did not attack us, there were no WMDs, there is no threat to the US from Iraq plus Communist China just signed a multi billion dollar deal to develop Iraqs Ahdab oil field, so dear right whiners, please explain why we are in Iraq and what does McCain's winning the war mean? Yah, I got it, the surge worked!

isn't surge a russian name?

100% yes: "then again, reality and the right never connect. "

1 billion barrels is less than 1% of proven Iraqi reserves (approximately 115 billion barrels). what's all the fuss?

Anyone who believes that China is our biggest potential military adversary in the future is ignorant of China's history, our history, and of Islam.

It's more likely that China will become one of our greatest allies.

"Iraq and China are reviving a $1.2 billion oil deal canceled after the 2003 invasion, the Iraq's oil ministry announced. Under the agreement, China will develop a billion-barrel oil field south of Baghdad."

Er, uh, the oil deal was uh already uh, on, uh, but canceled after the war, uh...

What about that do you blame-Bushers not understand?

I even put it in nobama's genius, president of harvard law review's, speaking style so you feel more comfortable in reading my words...

Words, yes, uh, mere words?

Uh, thank God, uh, for uh free uh speech.

"What about that do you blame-Bushers not understand?"

brilliant observation to a point that nobody made an issue of, you must be a right whiner!

Go China!

This coming from a man who worships Geroge bush?

Are you really trying to criticize Obama's speaking skills? Seriously? I know you're a new shit-tickler here on the DR or just another name-jumping loser, but you really should take a look at your own cheerleading man-boy Bush before you point fingers.

What is it you don't like? That he thinks of his words before just letting them out? I see, you're more of a diarrhea-of-the-mouth kind of person who just says it and thinks about it minutes later, like your messiah, Bush.

Here are some brilliant moments from your Messiah;

What oil?

Signed, The Right

Nonsense...

Why do you libs take it so personal and want to blame Bush for the 2003 Iraq-China Oil Deal? He had nothing to do with it... that would be two sovereign nations making a deal...it happens all the time.

I guess you could blame GWB/Cheney for not being able to pull enough strings at Haliburton and Blackwater to get the price lower than China. Is that it?

I worship GWB? Not hardly, what a disappointment he has turned out to be, no doubt about it. Thank God GWB is leaving office, I can't take any more of him either. However, I can laugh at GWB and mock him, too without making excuses for him.

Yes, I am definitely criticizing nobama's speaking skills, thank you very much!

But, uh, apparently you can't do that for your, uh, pied-piper, can you, uh? See all of the thought I put into that statement, with my intelligent pauses?

Did you hear nobama's response to that 7-year old school-girl's question? He did the same thing trying to answer her! It must have taken all the intelligence he could muster just to get UP to the level of a second grader, before he "waxed eloquent" in his answer, as if she was a college grad and could actually follow him! He must have scared the poo out of her with all his USA bashing.

"I know you're a new shit-tickler here on the DR"...
Nonsense, you make a good point. I guess there's always a first time to tickle shit! How does it feel?

BTW, keep up the cutting and pasting, you're good at it.

Surely al Maliki didn't double cross George Bush.

Or did George Bush double cross the United States like he always does?

Since I don't hear any big stink from the White House about this deal, I'm inclined to think George Bush has bargained a huge Iraqi oil field in exchange for forgiving a chunk of the U.S. debt to China.

Remember "the oil will pay for the war?"
Sometimes I debate internally, is the Bush administration primarily criminal or primarily incompetent. Lately, watching how completely clueless they have been as Russia invaded Georgia and China makes oil deals in Iraq I would have to say incompetence is their most obvious trait.

wow that would actualy make sense twin, it would also explain the recent rise of the dollar.

But for the very reason that it makes sense it can't be true.

Way to go Dick Cheney. For someone who thinks they are as smart as you think you are, you are quite a dumb Fuck.

Your whole plan was to control Iraqi Oil reserves by invading Iraq from the get-go of Bushes 1st term and you used President George W. Dumb-ass by baiting him he would become one of our greatest Presidents by converting Iraq to a capitalistic country and by doing so would also make all of your cronnie Oil buddies and defense contractor buddies (including yourself) filthy rich with money and power.

Didn't work out did it Einstein.

You are a sorry pathetic greedy fuck and should be in prison you piece of shit.

"it would also explain the recent rise of the dollar."

Oh yeah! The dollar is really rising. Like maybe 4 cents. Do I hear a resounding "Woo-Hoo!!"?

I'll believe there is hope for the financial future of the US when the dollar goes back up to parity with the Euro as it was back in 2001/2. Most interesting to note that the dollar starting tanking about the time when the current US administration came on board.

"Thank God GWB is leaving office..."

He ain't out the door until he's out the door.

It is not a given yet that he will pass the baton to the next president. If some event were to occur towards the end of this year that would necessitate the application of martial law nation wide, all bets are off. The regular military will be in charge.

Nice post USATRUEANDFOOL, basic but I'll explain it, it does not matter where the oil goes as long as it goes somewhere. More supply means lower prices everywhere. Go ahead and swear and rant about nothing though, that is where your genius lies.

Why do you libs take it so personal and want to blame Bush for the 2003 Iraq-China Oil Deal? He had nothing to do with it... that would be two sovereign nations making a deal...it happens all the time.

Iraq wasn't sovereign, because george said it was bad to invade sovereign nations and he'd never do anything bad. Iraq is basically re-signing all evil-doer saddam's old contracts, almost all with non-American countries. So for a trillion dollars, 4100 dead and 15,000 wounded, we get Saddam II. So much for all Cheney's 2001 planning.

I guess that just shows you that them damn sheet heads are too lazy to do it themselves. What a bunch of clowns. The whole middle east is that way. It's hard to believe that they were the cradle of civilization.

As the west buys more and more of its products from the godless Commies, it's getting hard to believe we were the defenders of civilization?

It's even harder to believe that this once great country was looked up to.

That is what happens as the libs take over. Give all our money away to a bunch of undeserving butt holes and roll over with our ass high in the air.

You have to admit, we have become much more lib than we were at the end of WWII.

"That is what happens as the libs take over. Give all our money away to a bunch of undeserving butt holes and roll over with our ass high in the air."

When your guys are shown to be incompetent and dishonest clowns you just pretend they are really libs....I guess that's the only way you can stand to look in the mirror these days.

You have to admit, we have become much more lib than we were at the end of WWII.

Thank God.

I'd hate to have to keep them robes clean for the Friday night lynchings. And I like bagels too much to go jew baiting all the time.

Really? Just when did the Bush Administration become "Liberal"?

Bush is not a conservative, he is a big government liberal... he is hardly a conservative in any sense. he has fucked over the conservatives as have most of the republican ass biters. both sides suck big time, we have no representation we have thugs that pander to keeping themselves in power.

Bush is a perfect storm of the worst parts of right and left. Debating whether or not he's a conservative or liberal is stupid, as if it's going to shut down that particular ideology.

He's just Bush.

Bush is a dry drunk and least member of a powerful, dangerous crime family.

Prescott conspired to overthrow Roosevelt by military force. High Treason.

George 41 conspired to trade missiles for hostages behind Carter's back. High Treason.

George 43 started a war in Iraq, killing, maiming and displacing millions of innocent people and destroying their country with a pack of deliberately fabricated lies. High Treason and Crimes against humanity.
